I purchased a 5-pack of the Tapo TL135E smart bulbs on January 2, 2025, and I've been very happy with them so far! Setting them up was easy peasy – the process was quick and intuitive. I primarily use them with Alexa, and the integration has been seamless. The Tapo app is user-friendly, which is a huge plus for someone like me who isn't super tech-savvy. I love how bright and colorful these bulbs are, especially when I switch them to different colors. They really liven up the room! So far, I mainly use them to turn the lights on and off with voice commands via Alexa. I've also linked them to my morning alarm, so the lights gradually brighten to help me wake up. It's a much gentler way to start the day! While I haven't explored all the features yet, I can already see the potential. I would definitely recommend these bulbs, especially to anyone who is new to smart home technology or who wants a simple, reliable, and affordable way to add smart lighting to their home. If you are more tech savvy than me, you will love all the other features! Pros: Easy to set up and use. Seamless integration with Alexa. Bright and colorful lighting. User-friendly app. Great value for the price. Cons: None so far! These light bulbs get really bright, and I love that they are matter bulbs so it’s super simple to use them with my Apple Home. I also love that they offer local control, so they respond very quickly. However, my bulbs pairing codes came mislabeled. First, two of my bulbs share the exact same pairing code, however, both bulbs actually used different pairing codes than what was put on the bulb. A third bulb used the pairing code printed on the first two. One of the bulbs doesn’t pair with any of the codes. So just beware that these bulbs may not have the right pairing codes, which will make them impossible to use with other Matter devices. I will be exchanging these bulbs and I should update the review with more information. If I don’t update this review, the new bulbs are likely working well.

They work perfectly and are a breeze to setup. Love the app features. Just need to figure out how to change the color of multiple bulbs in the same group/room at once. Highly recommend these!

These Matter supported bulbs have been excellent. I have been using them for about 3 weeks now. Super easy to pair with both my Google Home, and Apple Homekit, and have worked reliably and seamlessly in both ecosystems. I've had no drop-offs or issues with them. The Tapo app is actually pretty good as well. Colors are fairly accurate, and dimming works great. Having had some poor experiences with other smart bulb brands, I can highly recommend these.

Great, and works with Tapo smart settings. Where every time I walk in the room. It detects me and automatically turns on and turns off when I leave. Lots of options. Especially the automation and smart actions! Best thing you can get without getting a actually smart switch witch I couldn’t because I don’t have neutral support

They flash often when changing routines with Alexa in our lamps and fixtures. Very disappointing

Used these right away for the front and back doors for seasonal colors. Paired with WiFi and phone with no problems. So far they’ve been running for close to 2 months on all the time and they are working great with a power outage and lots of wind and rain.

I am really liking having smart lights. I plan on purchasing more of these for around my house. Right now I just have them in my bedroom and they're great for creating just the right atmosphere for any mood. I use them with Alexa and it's super convenient.

These bulbs work as advertised. Endless custom color selector and brightness controls. My wife loves turning the lights on remotely when away from home. Setup is a breeze and the app is user-friendly. You absolutely will not be disappointed with these bulbs and it is actually fun to experiment when you interact with the app. Look no further. The fact that I can change the color to fit the season/occasion right from my phone and not have to go outside and change the bulb is priceless. So many colors to choose from. This truly lends itself to the idea work smarter not harder. Worth every penny. And my wife is happy. Happy wife happy life as they say.

Bought these on a whim when I needed new bulbs for the bathroom, way better than I was expecting. It uses the same app I have for my cameras so using them was easy. I have them set up on a pink light so it doesn't kill my eyes at 3am

Perfect. The light bulbs instantly took control of my neighbors microwave, and she brought me popcorn, and guess what happened next

It was a gift for my mother and she was able to set it up with no assistance and she uses them everyday! She said these have made everything so much easier especially when she wants to turn a light on before she walks into the house so it’s not pitch black.

These lights work great for a variety of applications, including interior lighting and exterior (can) lighting where dusk to dawn LEDs don't work. The app works great and so far the lights have performed perfectly. I did purchase the GeekSquad protection since experience with LEDs has not always been good and at $10 per light makes sense. Bonus: I can program the lights at Christmas with green, red, blue, etc. to provide some holiday fun.

Normally I'll use the Home app to manage my devices, but the native app works quite well. I don't sleep well in absolute darkness , but was able to keep this faint enough to not keep me awake. Otherwise it's a pretty standard smartbulb.
