I want to rave about this incredible product! I’ve tried nearly every HomeKit-compatible smart home camera on the market, and I can confidently say this one stands out in every way. From setup to configuration, placement, and even the build quality, this product surpasses the competition. The attention to detail is remarkable. For example, the camera includes standalone stickers for mounting, so you can place them wherever you want without worrying about adhesive hassles. The privacy shutter, which is controlled through the app, is another thoughtful feature. While it doesn’t support HomeKit, the technology and privacy features make up for it—it’s quick, responsive, and seamless to use. Setup was effortless. I had the cameras installed and running within five minutes, and they’ve performed flawlessly since then. The magnet base, the provided mounting stickers, and even the screws show how much care went into designing this product. Everything is meticulously planned to make installation as smooth as possible. I’ve had disappointing experiences with other brands like Aqara—they’re unreliable and prone to malfunctions. These cameras, on the other hand, are reliable, sturdy, and well-designed. After using them for just a few hours, I was so impressed that I took advantage of the Black Friday sale and purchased a second pair. I’ll definitely be a returning customer! If I could give this product 100 stars, I would. For anyone looking to secure their home with a high-quality, user-friendly camera, I can’t recommend these enough. You won’t regret it!

For the price of this camera, I was really impressed. First, no subscription! That was one of the reasons why I purchased these. It uses memory cards, which is really easy to install. Installation was real easy! Didn't take 5 minutes, but it definitely wasn't a head scratcher. The only bad thing was waiting for both camera's firmware to install. That took the most time. Other than that, I purchased two 256 gb sd cards at $35/each, which is the same annual price for the first year for cloud storage, so I'm good to go!!

The TP-Link Tapo C125 is an indoor stationary 2K Wi-Fi camera that packs a good amount of features for its price point. I have experience with a wide range of indoor/outdoor Wi-Fi cameras from Google, Wyze, TP-Link’s Kasa cameras, Yi, Arlo, and Eufy. I was originally thrown off by the Tapo branding because I have quite a few TP-Link Kasa devices, but I wasn’t aware of the Tapo line. Looking online I don’t appear to be the only one confused by the change, but it appears Kasa is still chugging along while Tapo becomes the new brand of IoT devices from TP-Link. The C125 comes in as a well featured entry level camera option. It records in 2K QHD (1440p) at 30fps and has a 140° field of view. The magnetic camera base allows for multiple mounting options, and its articulation means you shouldn’t have any problem setting it up for a level view no matter the mounting surface. The camera includes a metallic mounting plate that can be screwed to the wall and 3M double side adhesive surface the plate without fasteners. It comes with a fairly long DC barrel-style power cord – I think about 10 ft, so you don’t have to be right next to an outlet. I do wish this was a USB based connector since they are more ubiquitous, and would have the ability to run a super long USB cable in the event you have a far flung location you want it mounted. The camera has a microSD card slot that supports up to 512GB cards. There is also a physical privacy shutter which is pretty neat. There is a button to activate it on the side, or it can be activated in the app. Setup for the camera was straightforward. Like any IoT device you have to download their app to get started. Since I already had the Kasa app it asked if I wanted to port the control over to the Tapo app, which I did. The app ran me through the setup, which took all of 5 minutes to get the camera up and running. The camera is my first to utilize WiFi 6 (I have a 6E router), so that’s pretty cool. I added it to a room, linked it up with my Google Home, and setup schedules and detection zones. The only issue with the process that I ran into was related to my Kasa devices. I had to link and unlink the Kasa devices in the Tapo and Google Home app to regain control of them in Google Home. My smart home suite of choice is Google Home, which the Tapo is compatible with. Accessing the camera is done just through the app. The camera feed will not play inside the Google Home app on my phone, which is disappointing but certainly not unusual with non-Google cameras. I can stream it to my Google Home display, and it pulls up there very nicely. There’s a couple second startup time to pull up the feed, but that’s roughly on par with my other cameras. Within the app it takes all of 5 seconds to go from launching the app to viewing the camera feed, which is pretty snappy. The C125 utilizes both 2-way streaming audio and push-to-talk. When you initially view the camera the push-to-talk function was easier to find as it is listed as “Talk” in the app. I used it for quite a while before I even found the 2-way, so I guess the app could do a better job of highlighting it. The 2-way function is accessed through the phone icon and its treated like a VoIP call. I greatly prefer the 2-way – it is so much better. You can talk like you are on a video call – the delay is very minimal. With push-to-talk there is a little bit of delay and you obviously can’t hear the person speaking to the camera if you are trying to talk as well. Volume from the camera is decent, and probably plenty for an indoor camera. The microphone does a good job picking up room audio and voices. Extremely loud noises (like its own alarm) will cause the mic to clip, but for normal usage its perfectly fine. Alerts from the camera are crazy fast. They come in faster than all of my other cameras with the exception of my wired Lorex system. However, for a WiFi based camera the alerts are within 1-2 seconds of the action. The camera also does a good job of discerning what it is detecting before sending the alert – person, animal, motion. I am very impressed by all of this, and it gives me a great deal of confidence in the camera’s performance. The nightvision on the C125 is really good from what I have seen. It’s on the same level as my Google and Wyze cameras, which is very pleasing. Pitch blackness relies entirely on the IR to provide light, and it does so with a good amount of detail and sharpness. If you have just a little bit of light in the room (like a tiny nightlight) then the B/W nightvision is just as sharp as full color. I was pretty happy with the image quality at night since I have used it to keep an eye on my dogs and my kids in their rooms/beds. Within the app you can set scheduling for alerts, define detection zones, configure the nighttime IR for near or far viewing, and even toggle the LED status light off. I really appreciated being able to turn the blue status light off since I initially put the camera in my daughter’s new room, and the light would keep her awake. The app and camera really are fully featured, and even provide things that my more expensive Google camera is missing (scheduled alerts is a big one). Overall, I think I like the Tapo C125 camera. Coming from a longtime Kasa user, and TP-Link networking user I know they typically put out a good product. I am still getting used to the app layout after the switch from the Kasa one, so in time I should have it mastered. The camera itself is pretty good, and the image quality is on par for this price point. The speediness of alerts and ease of setup make this a solid pick for an indoor camera option.

VIDEO: The camera is 2K QHD and the video is pretty clear. You can also set it to record in 720P or AUTO if you have the need to do it. Night vision uses two infra-red LEDs to help capture images in the dark up to 30ft and it’s pretty good. It has two settings; Near and Far. You can also adjust the frame rate: 15, 20, 25 & 30fps. It has HDR too. AUDIO: Make sure the mic setting does not exceed the recommended level. Audio is distorted if it is set above that level. The recorded audio is not as clear in my opinion. It sounds tinny, too much highs. There’s a speaker in the back of the camera that is used for a call feature which lets you speak to your family near the camera. It’s pretty clear and loud. Physical privacy cover is the best invention in this camera. There’s a physical cover that goes over the lens for those times that you need your privacy. This turns off the whole camera, no video or audio will be recorded. There’s button on the right side of the camera or you can use the Tapo app to turn it on or off. When you enable it, you get a notification from the Home app or Tapo app that it the camera has been turned off. The status LED in front of the device also turns off. BTW, You can also set the status LED to be always off. In addition to privacy, there’s another feature called Privacy zone. You can set an area where you don’t recorded (see pic). It places a black square or rectangle over that area. Instead of the activity zones used on most security cameras, this uses a Line-crossing detection. Objects that cross that boundary line from a settable direction or either direction triggers a notification. You can add up to four boundary lines and you can set the direction for each line. In addition to the cloud storage that you can subscribe to, you can also use an SD card of up to 512GB for recordings. With the SD card, you can have 24-hour recordings along with the triggered event recordings. You can also set up a recording schedule to only record when you want it to record. Timestamped video recordings too. MOUNT: This comes with a metal mount and the base is magnetic. You can mount this on any metal object like your fridge. The only thing wrong with this and maybe it’s just mine, is the swivel point is weak where it does not hold the position tight. Vibration moves the camera position. This camera is pretty feature packed and it’s pretty good!

This is more or less my first home security camera. I also have a camera that came with my garage door opener, but I don't really "count" it as it uses its own specific app and cannot connect with my google home ecosystem. I've looked into other options in the past but nothing really made sense to me. It was always a compromise of features or lower specs that didn't really warrant my interest. The Tapo C125 changes this due to its absolute bonkers feature set and competitive pricing. For starters? The recording resolution is 2560x1440 with alternative 720p mode. Framerate runs at 25-30 FPS depending on if you use near or far sight in the Tapo app settings. NOTE: The app can be a little buggy when selecting frame rate. You kind of have to exit and go back into it to make sure you're running at the correct settings. Most cameras competing with this one are only 1920x1080. Clear advantage with Image quality here. Aside from that, this camera actually has an microSD Slot. Yes, you can actually localize storage and not be at the whim of the specific service wanting you to buy storage space on their servers.. Rejoice! Cool features? The camera has AI imaging that actually works REALLY WELL. Car passing by? It can detect it. I personally have most detection disabled outside of basic human interactions. Reasoning being? I am currently using this as a front door camera. Night mode? Works well, but I would suggest disabling if you're using the camera in the same way I am through a front door window. It will reflect off the glass and not really show anything.. Yes I know this camera is intended for indoors, but the C125 is very versatile. Google home integration and functionality? Well that's tricky. The camera can stream to a Google Nest screen, but there's no way of accessing the camera via the phone app. You will have to go into the TAPO app itself. Speaking of the TAPO app, it detected my TP-LINK KASA switches and uses the same integration for both. I was actually able to actually delete the KASA app off my phone and use the TAPO one for all my TP-LINK devices. Google home configures them through both the KASA and TAPO connection services.. 2 in 1 app. There's a microphone and call feature. Audio quality isn't great, but it serves its purpose if you need it. Connects Via 2.4G WIFI 6 (AX).. Finally IoT has caught up to modern routers. Competitor cameras are still using 2.4N. Another big plus for me. I'm sure there are things I missed, but this has been a really straight froward experience without many issues. OVERALL: I really like this camera. My only real complaint is that you cannot view the camera feed in the google home phone app.. But it streams to google displays w/o issue. TAPO app is required for phone stream. Solid product 4/5

I recently got the TP-Link Tapo C125 AI Home Security Wi-Fi Camera, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. As someone who has a landlord and with maintenance people coming and going while I'm not home, I felt the need to get a security camera. This led me to TP-Link Tapo C125, and it has proven to be a reliable camera at a very reasonable price for my home. Setting up for the Tapo C125 camera was superfast. Just unfold the camera and plug in the power adapter and then follow the step-by-step instructions in the Tapo app and within minutes, I had the camera up and running, and connected to my home Wi-Fi network. The Tapo app, which is used to control the camera, is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it accessible for anyone. The camera boasts impressive 1080p HD video quality. The clarity and sharpness of the footage captured is shockingly crisp, even in low-light conditions. The wide-angle lens allows me to angle the camera just right to get the best angle for the entrance to my home. It also comes with a built-in privacy shutter that can be controlled by pressing the button on the side of the camera or through the Tapo app. One of the best features of the Tapo C125 is its advanced AI technology for motion detection. The camera can accurately detect motion and will send you instant notification to my smartphone. What really impressed me the most was its ability to distinguish between different objects, such as humans or animals, reducing false alerts. This intelligent feature makes it so I am only notified when there is a genuine cause for concern, saving me from unnecessary alerts. Within the app there are a ton of settings where you can turn motion control only on during specific hours when you are not home, turn off pet detection so it's not alerting you when the dog walks by and countless other features to tailor to your needs. The two-way audio feature allows you to communicate with whoever is in the camera's vicinity, whether it's my wife, dog, or visitors. This feature allows for real-time interactions and adds an extra layer of convenience and security. The Tapo C125 offers multiple storage options, including local storage via a microSD card (not included) or their subscription based cloud storage. I went with the microSD card option because I had an extra one with 256GB which is plenty enough for my needs. So with this I can set it up immediately to start recording the moment it senses movement, and there will be recording of that on my phone. Overall, the TP-Link Tapo C125 AI Home Security Wi-Fi Camera has shown to be a reliable, feature packed, and user-friendly home security solution at a very reasonable price. With Its impressive video quality, intelligent motion detection, two-way audio, and easy remote access through the Tapo app. This Camera is a top choice for anyone looking to enhance their home security setup and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a home security camera system.

Very nice indoor security camera. Its very compact and it has a privacy shutter that opens and closes electronically, very nice. I like they include many accessories to be able to mount the camera in many ways. You can fix it to your wall the old way (drilling), or you can fix it magnetically (magnet included too) to any magnetic surface (like your fridge, a metal door etc), and the magnet is very strong. They also include a strong double sided tape should you wish to mount it this way, and finally just a regular stand if you wish to seat it on top of a table or flat surface, which is what I did. They include a very large power cable and adapter. Setting up the camera was very easy. All you have to do is download their Tapo app on your phone, sign up/sign in and add the camera from a list. It will detect it via Bluetooth and then ask your Wi-fi credentials so it can connect to your network. Once installed via their app, there was a firmware update which took a couple of minutes. I like that their app lets you control every aspect of the camera (like video quality, night vision or not, focus, privacy, set schedules etc). A subscription isn't needed since it has micro SD card slow which could record videos onto, however if you want the peace of mind of cloud recording, they also have a subscription and they give you a month trial to test it out. Video and audio quality are very good and it has a nice wide field of view. If privacy is a concern of you, it has a LED light Infront to indicate status and also it has an electronically controlled privacy shutter. If you set it off or set privacy mode on, it will automatically close the shutter. Highly recommend it you want a camera to keep your indoors safe and recorded!

The TP-Link camera is very well made and has a small footprint. I really like the small design and how easy it is to set it in any type of angle. You can mount it on the wall or just sit it on a flat surface. The wall mount is magnetic so you can easily unmount it and move it elsewhere. It is very easy to set up and use. All you need to do is find a good spot, download the TP-Link Tapo app and follow the instructions. It will take about 10 min or so. The image quality is really good and the night vision as well. The 140 degrees view is good enough to see almost an entire room. This camera has a built-in mic and speaker. Of course due to the size of the camera it's not going to be as loud. One of my favorite features is the privacy mode. It works differently as other cameras I own. It not just turns off the camera but instead it will cover it with a shutter. That shutter activates within the app. That's pretty cool. Another great thing about it is that you can store your video locally as the camera has a built-in microSD card slot. If you prefer cloud storage you have that option too. The camera did not come with an SD card. This camera also works with your smart home. I have linked to my Google home and it works perfectly. However, I did notice that there is no live view within the Google home app on my phone. Instead you have to stream it to a Google home display. That part was a bummer because it doesn't make any sense that you have access to the camera within the Google home app but you can't stream the video. Hopefully that can get fix with an update Overall this is a great camera and if you are already in the TP-Link ecco system this will be a good addition. It has a small footprint and a nice design that can easily conceal itself with your home decor. It can be adjusted to almost any angle with practically no effort. It has very good image quality and night vision. In the box you get the camera, power brick, magnetic mouth , mounting accessories and manual.

I have had the opportunity to use different brands and types of security cameras for outdoor and indoor, something I have noticed many times is that the devices perform their function well but where they commonly falter is in their software. It happens that each manufacturer creates its own app that is supposed to work with their devices, but many times this is not always the case and the situation gets even more complicated when you have to connect different devices to a single ecosystem, we are talking for example about the most popular ones like Alexa, Google, Apple Homekit, etc. In this camera I could say that its software works but it still seems that the smoothness and stability of the connection still needs to be improved, even so there are some points in its favor that are worth mentioning. The camera is compact so it comes in a small box with the necessary for installation. In the box comes the camera, its charger, two screws with their respective sockets, a metal plate to install on the wall, a double tape pad for the plate, a guide to make the holes in the wall, a quick start guide, instructions for connecting the camera with Apple Homekit. Installation is very simple, there are three options, place the camera on a metal surface as it has a magnetized base, you can also use the double tape pad to stick the plate on the wall and then place the camera on the base, and it is also possible to screw the plate to the wall and mount the camera, the truth is that we don't always have the necessary tools for such task and that this camera has options for installation is something that is appreciated. What takes a little more time is the configuration, although the instructions are very clear it is possible that this procedure is a little confusing. To configure the camera you need to download the Tapo app, create a TP-Link account or if you have one just enter your credentials, then follow the procedure as indicated in the app. In that process is when it may not complete the configuration but something also to highlight is that the camera has a physical button that if left pressed for 5s restarts the wifi settings and 10s to factory reset the device, this can help when the app freezes. By the way this same button is the privacy button that when activated the lens is covered, this is something that I think is great because being a camera that can be used indoors, sometimes it will not be necessary to keep the camera watching all the time, pressing the physical button or from the app you can activate this feature. Note: In order to connect to Apple Homekit it is recommended to do it from the Tapo app being connected to the device in the same network, since from the Homekit app even scanning the QR code fails to connect, however from the Tapo app the first time it worked and I could have access now from the Apple Homekit app to the camera and from there you can control and change the settings. Regarding performance, as I mentioned at the beginning, the camera fulfills its purpose satisfactorily, records in high quality 1440p and you can change the FPS to 30 maximum so that the image looks more smooth, you can set alarms, no detection zones, night mode, notifications, motion detection intensity, watch videos of recorded events, live stream, you can add a pay per month service (Tapo Care) for space in the cloud or you can install a micro SD memory which I think is great. It is also possible to record directly while in live view, capture images, talk through the speaker (this speaker sounds good although it is not perfect), or make a kind of call that basically is to open the two-way communication channel in case you want to interact with the interlocutor. The app has the necessary functions in a security camera and can be extensively customized to get the most out of the device.

I like this Tapo camera. I didn’t sign up for the cloud service, but it has an SD card slot for now, which is fine. First things, first, this is getting installed in a Nest/Google household, so it’s really important to me that whatever new devices I install are compatible with Google Home/Google Nest. This is only partially compatible. You need to install it with the Tapo app from TP Link which is fine and works great in an all Tapo home. You can also link with the Kasa ecosystem which is also owned by TP Link. When you connect to Google Home, it easily sends all of your Tapo devices into your Google Home. Yes, you can put it into your home in particular rooms as you expect, but you CANNOT VIEW IN GOOGLE HOME. Yes, that’s correct. The only way you can get the Google ecosystem to display the video is if you tell it to cast the video to a hub or Chromecast via Google Assistant. This is a big problem for me because currently Google Home shows me all the important cameras in my house in one easy to use app (or even better the Nest App). So for a Google ecosystem household, please note that this is the case and possibly you’ll need to consider the con. There are a lot of great things about this camera. It sees in the dark fairly well because of IR like most cameras in its price range and the quality of the picture seems above average, and definitely better than my 2nd gen Nest Cam Indoor. It has a fairly wide field of view and a good framerate and I really like the nice sharp high rez picture. It’s a plus! I also like that it has smart detection, which seems so strange considering the price and lack of subscription. It was able to detect people and sounds just like Nest. I checked out features like zones, and alerts, and they worked as expected. In fact, I thought these features worked better than my current Nest cam fleet. The audio quality is sufficient. There’s not much more to say about it than that. It’s better than you would think a camera this inexpensive would be, but it’s not “good.” One of my favorite features is the privacy function. There’s an electronic motor that puts a plastic barrier in front of the camera when you press the button or use the app. It’s pretty cool to have that shutter. Overall, I would recommend this camera especially if you don’t already have an ecosystem of cameras. It’s a great place to start your smart system. If you start here, I’d suggest you stick with Tapo/Kasa as you build your smart home because it seems designed to work best that way.

After a week with the TP-Link Tapo C125 Wi-Fi Camera, I am impressed. The Wi-Fi 6 enabled camera performs great. The camera and stand are small and versatile. Two-way communication works great. Integration with Alexa and Google Home was super easy to set up. Image quality was good. AI detection does an excellent job of picking up people and animals. The camera also makes a good baby monitor. All-in-all, I am impressed. Setup and Installation: Set up was simple. TP-Link includes several mounting methods. You could mount it with included screws. You could mount with the magnetic plate and adhesive. I chose to just put my camera up on a shelf. You will need to download the “TP-Link Tapo” app to your phone. Adding a device from within the app was simple. I had the camera online and updated within minutes. Yes, there is a firmware update out of the box, but I had no difficulties getting it to install. Again, the app will walk you through that process. The camera comes with a month of cloud storage, but I chose to add a 128GB MicroSD card. Once you have inserted the card, the camera will have a voice prompt telling you to finish formatting and setting up the card from within the Tapo app. Experience: I really like the size of this camera. It is small enough that if you fold it up to the stand, it is the size of a hockey puck. It is easy to mount or place in a room. I have been incredibly surprised at the amount of features that come packed into this little camera. It is the only camera I have that has AI recognition while I am watching a stream from the camera. The privacy shutter is nice and convenient. If you do not like the blue activity light, you can turn that off from within the app. If you wanted to magnetically mount the camera to a garage door opener, you could invert the camera image from within the app. I should note that I have a Wi-Fi 6 router and Access Point, but streaming the video feed has been quick with no buffering or delays. The camera is equipped to detect glass breaks or baby cries. For those reasons, I intend to put this camera in the baby room that my wife and I are setting up. Alexa and Google Home integration have been good. It is nice to be able to have Alexa put the camera footage up on my TV through our Amazon Fire TV Stick. Two-way communication with the camera is easy and quick. My only nitpicks (and these truly are nitpicks) is that I wish the camera had used USB-C instead of a dedicated power adapter. The included cable is long and the thankfully the plug isn’t a huge wall wart, but I USB-C connection would have been more convenient. Conclusion: I really like this camera. It is extremely easy to recommend. I plan to pick a few more up. Solid performance, customizable mounting options, and an easy-to-use app make this camera a solid pickup. 5/5 Recommended

What I consider to be a great security camera is something with great alerts, image quality, privacy, storage options and the Tapo C125 checks most of these boxes. The C125 is a Wi-Fi camera which is easy to set up with the Tapo app and offers you just about every option under the sun so you can connect it to your existing home security systems/home automation. Tapo offers you the ability to use google home/ Apple HomeKit/Alexa and even allows you to add the camera to your NAS stations, along with just providing access to share with others in your family (which requires them to get the Tapo app). If you choose to just use the Tapo app you can use cloud recoding or have a SD card which does 24/7 recording, this is huge as most Wi-Fi camera don’t allow this. I can’t stress how great it is to see a company offer you choice instead of forcing you to get a subscription for your footage. The Tapo C125 has a plastic build which makes it super light weight and comes in handy if you want to just attach it to a metal rail because of the magnetic base. The magnetic base is strong enough to hold up the light weight camera in case you don’t want to do any drilling. The image quality is great on the camera and the wide field of view is excellent. As with most cameras you can get alerts when motion is detected and it goes a good job with them, I noticed that the camera catches detections from about 30 feet away but is able to differentiate (human/pet/car) when its movement is within 20 feet. Overall this is a really good indoor camera with a polished app that’s easy to use/operate. Pros: Light weight Great Image quality Easy set up/user friendly Works with just about everything Storage options Physical button for privacy Cons: Doesn’t have 5 mhz Wi-Fi Not outdoor rated

I have been using this camera for five months now, and I am very satisfied with the product. It has many useful features such as selecting the exact area of your space you want to be monitored, and type of sound or movement detected. It can be activated by specific things like animals and it can detect a child crying or a dog barking. The alarm (different sound options) can go off when the camera detects movement or a person, or you can just get notifications to your phone without sounding the alarm. You can talk from your phone to the person who is in the room. Make sure you install the Tapo mobile application. You don't have to use iPhone’s Home app for. The Tapo app is free. Additionally, you can subscribe to Tapo Cloud if you want the recordings to be stored on the cloud. Otherwise, there’s an SD card slot for storing the recordings. Download the recordings from the SD card to your phone through the app. The camera does not come with an SD card, you will need to buy it separately. The night vision works great and it goes off automatically when there is not enough light, The video resolution is 2k. The base of the camera is magnetic and I’m happy I didn’t have to drill or stick anything on the wall. I just mounted it on a metal part that happened to be on the wall. It seems that the camera knows what a ceiling fan is because it never goes off when the fan is on. It will go off if a drape or a flag on the wall moves. I suggest using the person detection and turning off the movement detection. Otherwise, a fly or a spider could set it off and puzzle you. This camera is a great product and I got more than I expected out of it. I highly recommend it.

Overall, I am pleased with the cameras. They were a great price for the 2-pack and have great-quality images. My only issue with them so far is that I have to power them off and back on every few weeks as they keep losing connection to my Apple Home app. They will be connected to the Tapo app with no issues, but one of them at a time usually shows "no connection" in the Apple Home app, which is pretty annoying. For the price and quality of the physical cameras though, I am still quite pleased with them as there is no monthly fee to store footage through the Apple Home app!

Camera works well and was easy to set up, but the Apple HomeKit features are limited to ONLY VIEWING the camera feed. So, while there are many features within the Tapo app (such as letting me know when the puppy is barking), I'm unable to use the feature in Apple HomeKit that switches off the camera when we are home or use any automation within that ecosystem. The integration with Apple HomeKit is why I chose this camera over others, and for this integration to be stripped down is a real disappointment. I spent hours on the phone with Apple support to find out why these features weren't working and ultimately referred to TP-Link's support, who said they were not supported at all. As another reviewer mentioned, USB-C would have been a much-preferred power option to the block and pin that it came with.

The TP-Link Tapo Indoor Wired Camera has truly exceeded my expectations, especially considering its affordable price point. The clarity and crispness of the footage it captures during the day are remarkable, offering a level of detail that ensures I never miss a moment. One standout feature is its exceptional night vision capability. The camera provides a clear and well-lit view even in low-light conditions, allowing me to monitor my space effectively 24/7. The infrared technology ensures that every corner is visible, providing a sense of security during nighttime hours. Setting up the camera was a breeze, thanks to the user-friendly Tapo app. The app not only simplifies the installation process but also offers convenient remote access to the camera's feed. It's a user-friendly solution that enhances the overall experience. Considering its affordability, the TP-Link Tapo Indoor Wired Camera stands out as a budget-friendly option without compromising on quality. It's a reliable choice for anyone seeking a cost-effective yet feature-packed security camera.

I'm starting to think IOS is the security source of choice for cameras. This is the second camera that I've had the honor of testing that has been designated for Apple's IOS and their eco system. Wiht that being said, these still can be used with Google Home and Alexa based products. The box houses avery nice compact folding camera that can be used on a desktop, cabinet or even wall ounted , with the support of the accompanied mounting brackets, anchors and screws. To be honest, this camera isn't very heavy at all. So you should really comfortable about mounting this camera with any light nails or screws. This thing will hang on thin sheetrock Easily. This is what I was talking about earlier, though. The TP-Link App is found in the Apple App Store. However, you'll need to go to the Tapo website to find and download the app, for use with Google home or Alexa Opperationg systems. But once that is done, you'll find it very easy to use. The price of this device is affordable, but there are many other options in this price range. So this could go either way. You wouldn't be remissed to go out and get this if you already are in the Apple eco system, but I know for a fact that there are more adroid/ Alexa freindly cameras out there. I will recommend it, but know that there are other options for all 3 platforms.

This is one of the easiest to set up devices for home surveillance. In the box, there’s a 3M-like sticky pad in addition to screws and a mounting plate. The camera has a magnetic base, so if you decide you want to place it on a desk or shelf layer on, you can leave the mount on the wall and move it. It integrates perfectly and easily with Apple HomeKit, which is the main reason why I bought it.
