Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the ZTE Cymbal T LTE's ease of use and large keys, which make it accessible for various users. However, many find the phone's size and weight to be excessive, impacting overall user experience. Concerns were also raised regarding the camera quality and battery life, suggesting areas for potential improvement. The screen size proved to be a point of contention, with some finding it too small while others found the phone too large overall.

Tis phone was poor quality. It self dialed numbers when the phone was turned on and closed. When someone receiving the call would answer, you could hear conversations in the background of the person who was in possession of the phone. The phone probably no longer exists through TracFone, but if it does, do NOT buy one. Only used less than a year and had to buy a new phone!

Received the ZTE Cymbal-T. Was hoping the Freetel Musashi would get here to the states, as it's a double screen flip phone, and has better spec's, but I guess not. I'm a BlackBerry OS / Windows OS phone user and was pretty amazed at the speed of this phone running Android 5.1.1. I haven't used Android in like forever. It's pretty much stock Android. It runs on the Verizon spectrum, so I get 4G LTE. The camera isn't great (no flash), but then again, this is a phone, not a daily camera for me. I take photo's once in a while, but not a "selfie" freak.......especially at my age. Good Grief!! LOL!!! Will use this for a while and see how it does over a total month's time, and see if I want to give my other phones a rest for a while. So far, it pretty much does what it's supposed to do. Call (incoming and outgoing) quality is excellent . Couldn't ask for more.

    Works with Verizon!

Put my Verizon sim in and boom, full LTE. Same thing with Total Wireless. Sad part, no hotspot available unless you find a ROM and root. Personally the phone is too big. Too heavy. Might as well get a 4inch smartphone. The software can be buggy. I had to reset twice to make the home button work again. Nova launcher didn't run well on it. Had issues with gestures. I'm going to return it. It's a novelty device IMO right now. But it's functional and works on Verizon mvnos with no unlock needed. PC mag and older reviews were apparently wrong. You can even put the imei in each site(total wireless and Verizon) and it will show compatibility.

    Hybrid

This was a purchase for husband who wanted a flip but needed more. This is an odd bird. It is also very big! It takes a little for those used to regular touch screen to get used to using both the touch screen and buttons on the pad but for those not used to a regular smartphone it should be easier. The only con so far is the low memory but most who want this type of phone are not the kind for apps usually anyway. There is an sd slot which helps. If you like the flip style and ability to dial from a traditional phone pad but need an android device for some things this is great choice.

A nice combo of Android and Flip Phone

I love the fact that it’s a flip phone smart phone with a small external screen that tells time , battery level and signal or who’s calling before ever flipping it open. Compared to the ZTE Valet Tracfone I previously used, this is much faster and more reliable. I added a 32 GB SD Card and so have memory to spare. Be sure to adjust the save location to the SDCard to take advantage of that and to move apps to the SDCard, since you only have a few GB of useful memory on the phone itself. The big keys for dialing make it so much easier to dial, especially when in a moving vehicle, but I find that for entering text, I prefer the onscreen keyboard. It is set up to act like a flip phone and answer when opening, although that can be changed if you don’t like that. The small exterior screen displays who is calling. I like that since I hated to swipe to answer or not or my previous phone. The screen doesn’t auto-rotate for most apps although it does when viewing a video. I always had trouble hearing calls on my old android, and had to turn the speaker on; no such problem with this one, which is great. While some may not like the large size since it’s basically almost twice the length of a normal phone when opened, I like that both when using it to talk to someone and when taking videos as it seems easier to grip for me that way. I’ve used it for three months with no complaints so far.

    good to gr8

Got this from Best Buy through a friend, thought it would be best of both worlds with touch & regular keys. I have a tremor that makes touchscreens difficult but need more than a basic phone. Good that i can use keypad so touch pad doesn't cover screen, but aside from very nice browser if i use mobile data it gobbles data like a gator. Must keep mobile data & background data set to off if not in use but it means i can't get mms messages. I use wifi for browsing to save mobile data. The browser is gr8. The phone feels solid. But i have to use a talk headset because my cheek or ear touches the screen & changes settings or ends the call, & i can't hear the caller without a headset. I wanted a flip phone for ease of use but this one hasn't been easy for me. Wish the touchscreen could be disabled for calls. I like the Tracfone triple minutes plans and wanted this to be the end to shopping phones. I got a Alcatel Pixi Unite to compare data use & to be fair to Gator, the Pixi also gobbles data, have to leave mobile data & background data off on it & use wifi. So i think the data issue isn't the phone it's the smartphone setup with all the apps drawing data, maybe i should stick with a good basic flip but Tracfone only offers those with double minutes, i know because i have one. I do email, texting, mms texts more than calls is why i chose this cell. It's gr8 for some things, but i am still looking for a perfect match. I prefer qwerty keypads & wonder if a BlackBerry would work on Tracfone BYOP plans.

Just what I've been waiting for

I've been waiting for a flip android phone. So far I love it. I hate most Android/IOS phones. I already have a tablet and a computer I don't need a cell phone for those purposes. I just wanted a phone to call people on (ironically enough) and something to keep my daily agenda on. Nothing more. This is a phone for my liking and I love it. Simplicity. Speakers, connectivity, response time is awesome. I have no problems so far.

Do not buy this phone: not intuitive

This phone is not intuitive. It is hard to find answers in the manual. The phone pocket dials all the time. It's a flip phone. When it is closed and in my pocket I expect it NOT to take any input from me. Only receive calls and text. Font changed from solid black letters and numbers to black with white inside. Very hard to read. Will have to do a factory reset to correct. Only font options are Small, Normal, Large, and Hugh.
