If you're like me and grew up in the 80s on the original Transformers cartoons, then you owe it to yourself to buy this game. It is complete, and total fan-service from the first minute of play. None of this Michael Bay stuff here. This is Transformers the way it is supposed to be. All is not perfect though as the game has 2 issues. The first is repeating environments. You see the same city and sewers over and over with little change. The second issue with the game is the camera. Its not horrible, but at times it can swing around so you can't see what your shooting at, or where your driving. Other then that, my only other gripe would be for a few more Autobots to play as. A minor issue considering everything else though. Plus, there's always room for a sequel if this does well.

I am a child of the 1980s and Transformers was my favorite cartoon as a child. I now consider myself a Transformers fan and I have watched and enjoyed its many incarnations since the 80s Generation 1 cartoon. With that said, this game does a great job of recreating that television program by casting the original voice actors and having the Generation 1 designs. As for the game, it is a fun game. It is a button smasher and it gets the job done. The game does get repetitive at times but it did not annoy me to the point that I decided to stop playing it. The controls, which can be a problem for franchise games, are pretty good. Overall, if you want nostalgia and want to enjoy your free time after work or during the weekend, one cannot go wrong with this game.

If only I could show my mid-80s, video-game playing self what a good TF game could achieve. Man this game is pretty much what I wanted in a Transformers game. Generation one? Check. Cullen and Welker providing voices? Check. Platinum games developing the title? Triple check. This game is a deceptively stripped down love child of Bayonetta and MGS Rising, with a ton of replay opportunity to improve your combat skill. My only gripe is the amount of playable characters. Plus no opportunity to play as the Deceptions hurts. But it's such a well crafted title, so don't miss it.

I have seen the more updated versions of Transformers games, but the look of them weren't quite what I was expecting. This version is more like it, as far as the look is concerned. Plus, we get treated with some of the voice actors from the show. Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumble Bee never sounded better even after all these years.

Transformers Devastation is pure awesome! This game has no boring fetch quests. No tedious push the crate puzzles or grinding. Just intense action and epic boss battles from beginning to end. Platinum games nails the G1 Transformers nostalgia perfectly. If you love The Transformers get yourself a copy :)

If you grew up in the 80's and loved Transformers then this is the game for you! Beautiful and I mean BEAUTIFUL graphics and gameplay make this a joy to play. The characters look like they literally walked out of the 80 cartoon series! Gameplay mimics that of Bayonetta, which is a good thing! If you're worried this game will let you down like the movie based transformer games then set your worries aside. I need to mention again that the character designs are absolutely stunning! Oh yeah and they brought back most if not all of the original voice actors! This game reminds me of what it was like to play Ultimate Spiderman for the original xbox. Fun for days. Please note: I am a huge transformers, comic book, and video game fan. This review is for folks who like the same. If you've never heard of transformers or never watched the 80s tv series I can't say wether or not you'd like this game.

If you ever wanted to introduce the transformers origin, this is the game for you. Challenging gameplay, awesome upgrades, sound it spot on, it's just like controlling the tv show.

Awesome action game. If you like original dmc and gen 1 transformers then this is the game for you. It takes about 5 hours to finish but much longer to unlock all the bonus items.

This game is very close to the original G1 series from 1984. Crazy combat combos and over the top action. If you are a fan of the original Transformers, this is the game for you.

I am a huge fan of the Transformers and this game is a blast. The controllers leave a little to be desired. But the characters are fun and the the upgrades keep you playing.

Very faithful to the original cartoon, a beautifully crafted nostalgic joy ride with enough cutting edge gameplay for all ages to enjoy...very fun to play!

If you are a Transformers fan like me and grew up watching the original TV series, this will make you feel like you are back to those days! While the level design and enemies get repetitive after a while and the lack of multiplayer is a bummer, the controls and combat are awesome!

What can I say? This game has it all for the ultimate Transformers fan. Everything good about the franchise, and I love the fact that they went back to the G1 days, has been included in this game. Playing as your favorite G1 Autobots and fighting against classic Deceptions is what this series sorely needs to go back to. The gameplay is phenomenal and addicting. I can't wait for the sequel!

Fast fun game. Slick animations and great art style. Campaign is short, but repayable with different bots. Lots of Easter eggs to original transformers series.

So well done! Would be awesome to see a sequel! Home run!

I am a G1 fan and the graphics and voice acting are great. But I'm not much of a fan of just running around and punching/kicking. And there's no multiplayer, so it's just a quick casual game.

Not a lot of story or depth to this game, but that doesn't make it any less fun to play. Crazy battles, retro cell- style animation and characters from the original series make this game a blast to play.

It's just like running home from school and putting on the TV before doing my homework. Easily the best G1 Transformers game made today, albeit short and a little repetitive by the end.

I like how the game was done especially the controls. I hope they can get more characters. Even some Triple Changers.

I finally played a game that feels like you were watching the classic cartoon.. good game.. wish Xbox one had a way to play different music without snapping it ... this game would be awesome with Stan Bush classic on there.
