Make absolutely certain there is a holographic decal covering the USBC port when you get your Trezor. If it was tampered with, you could get hacked. I purchased mine from Best Buy and have had no issues. Never buy a digital wallet used, or from Amazon (third party).

The best hardware wallet for crypto

I was looking to switch from a Ledger Nano S to manage my Bitcoin holdings as I found the device interface hard to use since it is so small and involves pressing physical buttons, and the software’s interface is very busy and not that intuitive. Enter the Trezor Model T. This device features an easy to use LCD color touch screen. No more fumbling around with mechanical buttons like on the Ledger. The Trezor Suite app has a clean, easy to use interface and it is also Apple silicon native for all you macOS users. One nice feature is the ability to buy various crypto currencies directly via the app. You put in what you want to buy and are presented with multiple offers from competing marketplaces and you can pay via credit card. However, I did find the fees higher than on Coinbase. For example, buying $100 worth of BTC on Coinbase involved the $2.99 Coinbase fee + $11.50 BTC network charge, while the cheapest offer I got on the Trezor marketplace was for $127. So, about $12 more in fees via the Trezor marketplace for this convenience on this one particular transaction. Of course, fees will vary depending on the coin price. As for security, the Model T employs a secure element that isolates sensitive operations, protecting your private keys from potential malware or phishing attacks. Additionally, the inclusion of a touchscreen PIN entry system adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that only the rightful owner can access the wallet. An optional layer of security is the ability to setup a Shamir backup, which is breaking up the seed phrase into multiple parts. Setting up the Trezor Model T was a breeze. The device features an intuitive touchscreen interface that guides you through the setup process in conjunction with the Trezor Suite software. The inclusion of a USB-C cord ensures fast and reliable connectivity to your computer or mobile device. However, I wish the cord had been a USB-C to USB-C cord instead of USB-A to USB-C. My Mac Studio has USB-C ports on the front and it would have made it easier for me and besides, USB-A is becoming obsolete. On the plus side, the cord is 45 cm” long and not short like the 10 cm” cord included with the Ledger Nano S. The only slight drawback is that the touchscreen is small and if you have fat fingers you could press the wrong digital button. The Trezor Model T supports over 1,000 cryptocurrencies, including popular ones like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Doge and many more. The ability to store various assets in one place makes it a versatile solution for cryptocurrency enthusiasts with diverse portfolios. One aspect that impressed me is Trezor's commitment to security updates. The firmware is regularly updated to address any potential vulnerabilities, ensuring that the device remains resilient against evolving threats in the crypto space. The firmware is actually downloaded from the internet and installed the first time you setup the device. It should be noted that another reason I prefer Trezor over Ledger is that Trezor’s firmware is open-source while Ledger’s is not. One can inspect Trezor’s firmware if desired. The Trezor Model T has a sleek and modern design, and the build quality is excellent. The touchscreen is responsive, and the overall feel of the device exudes durability. My only minor gripe is that the screen can be prone to fingerprints, but a quick wipe easily resolves this issue. In conclusion, the Trezor Model T is a stellar hardware wallet that combines robust security features with user-friendly design. If you're serious about safeguarding your cryptocurrencies, this device is a wise investment. It provides peace of mind, knowing that your digital assets are stored in a secure environment.

The Trezor Model T is an advanced crypto hardware wallet, offering a solution that strikes a perfect balance between robust security and user-friendly experience. Starting with the setup process, the Trezor Model T is refreshingly straightforward. The directions provided on the app are clear and easy to follow. For someone who values simplicity in crypto, this was a major plus. The Trezor Suite software, in particular, stands out for its intuitive design and functionality. It seamlessly bridges the gap between advanced security needs and ease of use. When it comes to storing cryptocurrencies, the primary concern is always security for me. The Trezor Model T excels in this department. The ability to store crypto offline provides an added layer of security against online threats. I was particularly impressed with the peace of mind this feature offered. The only hiccup I encountered was with the security sticker on the device. When removing it to plug in the USB-C, if left behind some unsightly fragments of sticker. While it's a minor annoyance, it's a necessary assurance that the wallet is brand new and hasn't been tampered with. In the realm of crypto, these details matter, and knowing that my coins are secure is my top priority. The inclusion of a touch screen on the hardware wallet is a welcomed addition. It's not just a flashy feature; it's practical and enhances the user experience. The screen is responsive and makes navigating through various options and settings a breeze. This is a significant upgrade from other hardware wallets that rely on more rudimentary interfaces. For those new to the world of cryptocurrency, the initial setup might seem a bit daunting. However, the Trezor Model T addresses this issue effectively. The instructions are designed to simplify the process, making it accessible even to those who are just starting their crypto journey. It's a learning curve, but one that's well supported by the guidance provided. Make sure you take the time to follow the setup step by step and read up on the explanations to give you a better understanding of what some key terms mean. Overall, the Trezor Model T is a stellar product that lives up to its promise of combining top-notch security with user-friendliness. Its straightforward setup, intuitive software, and the reassurance of offline storage make it an essential tool for both seasoned crypto enthusiasts and newcomers. The minor issue with the security sticker is a small price to pay for the assurance of receiving an untampered device. I highly recommend the Trezor Model T to anyone looking for a reliable and secure way to store their cryptocurrency.

The Trezor Model T is without a question the most innovative piece of hardware wallet ever made. It comes in a sleek black body and has cutting edge technology with strong security features. There is more to the Model T's design philosophy than just how it looks. It has both style and usefulness in one. The sleek black case also makes this look more expensive and shows how well it was made. The shape of this item is meant to make it easy to carry around in your pocket and it is reliable, just like the safety measures inside it. The Model T's very beginning is a test of how simple and easy something can be to use. There are a lot of advanced features and the setting up process is made to be as simple as possible so that anyone can use it. Instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the interface is simple. This is true whether you are new to managing digital assets or have been using cryptocurrencies for a long time. Because of its responsive touch display changes how people use a cold Storage , it makes the things more easier to use and get more work done. The device's interface is meant to be as simple as possible without sacrificing any of its safety features. This makes it easy to store, buy and sell crypto assets without having to worry about the security. There is no better way to keep people who don't belong out than the Model T's security system. With passphrase protection, PIN entry, and two-factor authentication, this function makes sure that secret keys are safer. In this way, digital goods are kept safe from hackers. Cyberattacks are less likely to happen on this device because these keys are physically separated. You can keep an unlimited number of cryptocurrencies safely in the Model T. It is flexible enough to keep up with the fast changes in the bitcoin world and can connect to a lot of different platforms. It works with a lot of different digital assets. The firmware on Trezor devices is updated often to fix new bugs and make them better so that threats can't spread. This shows that the company cares about safety after the sale. They are dedicated to always getting better and have a great customer service method. This makes the tool even more durable and dependable. It makes a rescue seed phrase when it sets up because it believes it is important to have two copies of information. There will be a way for users to get their money back even if they lose their gadget or something else goes wrong. Trezor uses an open source method, which fits with the idea of lot scope for improvement. It is safer and more reliable for everyone to use this way because it lets both experts and regular users look at the code. It also builds trust and group involvement. It is one of the most stylish, long lasting and useful hardware wallets on the market, and its black color makes it stand out. Because it looks good, has strong security features, many connection choices, and is simple to use, this device is a great way to keep your digital assets safe. For all the crypto fans this Trezor Model T is more than just a hardware wallet. It’s a safe place that blends security and style in a way that meets their high standard cold storage.

Easy to use but has its limitations

For those new to crypto, this may be a more technical review, but I did add the Pros and Cons mid review if the rest is confusing. I’ve been using a Ledger for over a year now, probably Trezor’s biggest competitor. So I’ll be offering the pro’s and con’s that Trezor has to offer. First off, I like the style, style, shape, and touch screen of the device. It comes with a magnetic holder which I think could be very handy, especially when it comes to keeping it somewhere out of sight but yet easy to access. The setup was very easy. Most self-custody wallets, whether they are hot or cold, require a seed phrase. Trezor offers something called the Shamir backup. Very useful and good to have, I chose this option and I even tested it out by restoring the Trezor, and it worked well and was easy with the touchscreen to restore. Very good and handy to leave with trusted individuals if needed. You should look up some videos on how it works. Ledger uses 2 buttons to navigate and use the device, Trezor has a touch screen which does make things more simpler and the color screen is very nice. There is also an option to use the Tor network to increase your privacy when making transactions, also a nice bonus! There is also an option to have a hidden wallet within Trezor, which requires an additional security step….a custom passphrase. Once you install the Trezor Suite software to get your cold wallet setup and going, that is all about a crypto enthusiast will need to do with that software besides any additional setting changes. The Trezor Suite software is VERY limited in terms of the amount of Crypto you can store, stake, and view assets. The Trezor device itself supports a good bit of different Crypto networks and coins, but the software Suite does not. This was the most disappointing thing as there are only 15 different coins that are supported! I thought Ledger Live had limited support for coins and tokens, but Trezor Suite definitely takes the cake! Of the 15 networks supported, there are even a couple of obsolete ones on there that I didn’t even know where still relevant, lol. My recommendation would be to get a different wallet software that works well with Trezor, from what I’ve heard the Exodus wallet does exactly this. Definitely much more support for coins, but not quite that great. While this review is more focused on the Trezor Model T device, the software is what really opens up the capability of the device, so using 3rd party wallets will be a must if you own more than Bitcoin, Eth, and Solana….otherwise the Trezor Suite may be all you need. Exodus website will provide you a list of crypto and it will show you if its supported with the Trezor. I will say that majority of the assets and tokens that Trezor Suite does provide support for, are Ethereum-based tokens. Many assets have an Ethereum version of their native coin, which is what pulls up on the Trezor supported coin list. I would rather not own these as Ethereum transactions fee’s are sky high and slow, besides owning the native coins on their own network are safer and can even provide you airdrops in the future. Besides using 3rd party software, there are still some limitations. For instance, one of the top 5 biggest crypto currencies by market cap, BNB owned by Binance, is not supported by the Trezor! I’m baffled as this is one of the most popular networks used. You can add these assets to Exodus wallet, but it won’t be tied to your Trezor. I will say that I am impressed that Trezor Suite does show Solana’s tokens, something that Ledger does not support. For instance, if you have USDC, Bonk, or any other token on Solana, you won’t be able to see those on Ledger Live. Trezor Suite does offer this under the Solana Tokens tab, which I do like very much. The mobile app of Trezor Suite (lite) is even less capable, doesn’t even have Solana on there for some reason and while I tested it out with Doge, it doesn’t even give me the option to send from my phone, just receive. The iOS store shows a 3 star rating for this app. Here is an overview of the Trezor Model T from my time with it: Pros: - Hidden Wallet Feature - Tor network for privacy - Works with Meta Mask wallet on Firefox browser (unlike Ledger) - Touchscreen is responsive - Integrates with many hot wallets online while providing the same protection as Trezor Suite - Easy to read transaction summary and approval on Trezor device - Great Security and software, its open source - Shamir backup is a great option to have Cons: - Small touchscreen may be difficult for someone with large fingers - Trezor Suite limited support for many popular tokens and coins on their native network - Trezor Suite slow to load your wallet (even when “Remember” is selected) - Limited mobile app capabilities - Requires 3rd party wallets for using most non-ethereum coins and tokens - Trezor Suite does not load balances without Trezor connected and unlocked, and is slow to load - Does not accept bitcoin cash address without the “bitcoincash:” prefix (annoying) While there are many great features for this device, it’s better geared for people who only want to store maybe the top 3 or 4 cryptos that it supports. When you search Trezor’s website, it shows it supports thousands of tokens, but as I previously stated, most of these are Ethereum-based tokens. For those who want to store and manage a decent number of projects on their native network, this is not the ideal cold wallet for them. Trezor does appear to be a reliable company with a good reputation, and many crypto influencers I follow use the Trezor. I do hope they improve their selection of networks supported, especially with the bull run expected in 2024. Exodus wallet does help, but its still not great as it doesn’t support Solana integration with Trezor for some reason. There may be better 3rd party wallets than Exodus, but ideally its nice to have one central wallet where you can view majority of your portfolio while knowing its all protected in cold storage. If you don’t mind having multiple 3rd party wallets, then this may not be a big deal for you. Overall, I’d say this is tough to recommend for an experienced crypto trader, but for those just getting into it, will probably love the device. This was quite disappointing for me as I’ve heard good things about the Trezor for some time. I have uploaded a photo of the Coins (networks) that are natively supported by Trezor Suite. I will say this is probably a great second cold wallet to have to split your assets up so they’re not all stored on one device as an extra precaution. One other concern I have is if for some reason I don’t have access to any Trezor, and need to restore my wallet to a different 3rdr party wallet, would I be able to access my hidden wallet along with my main standard wallet? Restoring back to Trezor was simple and seamless which I do like, which goes a long way if my non-technical loved ones need to restore and access it the wallet.

Lock Tight Security for Crypto Assets

Trezor offers three hardware security wallet models for storing cryptocurrencies and guarding digital assets against online hackers and thieves. All three appear to be built on and around a very solid secure foundation. At the low end is the Model One, in the middle - the Safe 3, and at the top model, the Model T, which is deemed to be the safest selection of all three. The Model T has many features but is most recognizable on the surface by its touchscreen. First it is important to understand why one would want an external hardware wallet when they can store their cryptocurrencies on various online platforms, and in most cases store their assets on the platform on which they make their trades. A hardware wallet just offers more security for individual assets because online platforms are becoming less secure by the day and are much more susceptible to online hackers, etc. Cryptocurrency holdings are not private. It is possible to look up Bitcoin and an individual’s account and find out just how much of that coin any individual is holding. All crypto trades are tied to a key and what a hardware wallet does is help the consumer/trader manage their passwords and keys that control their individual cryptocurrency assets. Trezor has built much of their security around bitcoin and the larger currencies that followed and Trezor has built and perfected the security of their product as Bitcoin developed and over the past 10 years. The first step of Trezor’s security action plan is to secure each device with a silver shield on the “C” connection. If this has been tampered with in any way, then the device has been compromised. The second level of their security foundation is to not send out hardware with factory pre-installed firmware. All Trezor hardware wallets come with firmware uninstalled so that the buyer can be insured that the firmware installed from the Trezor website during setup is the secure software needed to run the hardware wallet. After the firmware installs during the setup process, twelve words are presented in a numbered sequence from one to twelve. The device asks a series of confirmation questions about those twelve words and their sequence before asking for a four-digit passcode. This password becomes your key to the wallet. In the packaging Trezor has provided a small form for which to record the twelve words that become the key to your individual wallet on the hardware. Guard this document completely as it is your security for your assets after they have been stored in the wallet on the device or should you lose the hardware wallet. The next step of the setup is to select the coins from Trezor’s list of those assets that you wish to store on the device. Trezor is not compatible with smaller cryptocurrencies but is built around Bitcoin and the currencies that aligned and closely followed Bitcoin’s development. The consumer can create several wallets on the Trezor hardware wallet. Hidden wallets are the most secure, but each of the hidden wallets must be set up with twelve words and then a phrase that is added by the consumer, that if forgotten will cause all assets to be lost. The Trezor Suite app is designed to provide enhanced privacy and to trade and save your crypto assets. It is software that manages coin management. Every transaction requires confirmation on the Trezor hardware screen. Through Trezor Suite, a platform entitled Coinjoin is offered to add anonymity to any transaction. Anonymity for communication is provided through the Tor network that is also built into the Trezor Suite. A lite version of Trezor Suite is available as a mobile app, but it is limited to view-only. In the box is the Model T hardware which has a 1.54” color LCD touchscreen and a MicroSD card slot, a USB – C cable, a magnetic disc that can be attached to a desktop monitor and which is designed to hold the hardware so that it is always accessible, the forms for recording the passwords and various stickers. The Trezor products are definitely built to safeguard and secure your personal cryptocurrencies and I would recommend it if you own and trade crypto assets.

I have been in this crypto space for a long time and never had problems with my holding on exchanges. But with the time going by, so my assets they started to grow and due to the recent craziness in the space i started to look more into how to store my crypto assets into a so called cold storage wallet! So here is where this Trezor Model T came into handy! I had the change to play with it for few days and i want to say i still keep most of my assets ready to go on some of the most known exchanges out there. But part of the assets (bitcoin and some erc-20's)that i'm planing on keeping for 4 or more years i transferred them into my Trezor model T. And i would've done that with all of them but independently of Trezor there are some high fees moving assets off exchanges and then back in case you want to cash out! So, i am happy i had the chance to see how Trezor works and i want to say that it is great! Very self explanatory, easy to setup! Make sure you follow and read every step as they really put a lot of taught into this and Keep on Hodling !

It is said that one of the safest ways to keep your cryptocurrencies safe, or rather secure access to them, is to use a cold wallet. Taking into account the situation we are in regarding technology and cybersecurity, I agree that this kind of hardware wallet is one of the best alternatives nowadays. In the box comes the device Trezor - Model T (the crypto hardware wallet), a usb cable, some stickers and a plate with a magnet that sticks to the device, and 2 recovery seed cards. The hardware wallet comes with a holographic seal where the usb-c connection is to ensure that the device has not been used or tampered with, something that raises the level of security and confidence in the product but ends up being a bit unpleasant at the same time, as it leaves the sticker stuck on the plastic and is not very easy to clean, this doesn't affect the device performance of curse. The instructions to start the configuration are simple and are even printed on the same box, you have to connect the device, download the Trezor Suit software, this software tells you the steps to follow and at the same time the device is showing and requesting data necessary for the correct configuration, simple and easy to follow steps, even if you have never dealt with cryptocurrency. The device has different levels of security and authentication, something essential is to activate a pin to access the device as the first level of security, something curious and that I really like is that every time you need to enter the pin, the order of the numbers on the keypad changes, a very valuable detail I think. The device creates a recovery seed (12 words) that needs to be written on paper (recovery seed card) and stored in a safe place, because in the future this information will be vital to access our cryptocurrencies, without this information it will be impossible to recover anything. Once you have configured the necessary settings in the app and the device it is possible to start making transfers or transactions, if we have another wallet and we want to make a transfer, this is possible from the app, as well as the management of our investments, really easy to use app. In summary, this device allows you to store your cryptocurrencies very safely to avoid the risk of having such information in the cloud with an exchange that could be attacked and stolen, basically without your pin, without your device, and proper authentication, it will be virtually impossible to steal your funds, simply a good investment to protect a larger investment, certainly a product that I can recommend.

The Trezor Model T is a tried and true crypto wallet from Satoshi Labs, a trusted name in cryptocurrency. The Model T has been around for a few years but is still a great choice today thanks to its continual updates that increase functionality such as SegWit or new coins. At this time, the Model T supports Bitcoin, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Dash, XRP, DigiByte, Namecoin, Vertcoin, Zcash, Solano, and Cardano coins and an abundance of Ethereum ERC-20 tokens. The wallet itself is fairly simple, with a recessed 1.54” tough screen that is a touch small and difficult to use. In the future it would be nice for them to update it with a slightly larger, flush screen. The wallet is powered by USB-C and includes a USB-A to USB-C cable, which is nice for legacy computers but most modern devices have native USB-C ports. Setting up the device was fairly simple. As expected the Model T is factory sealed, with security foil over the port to ensure no tampering. Once removed, the Trezor Suite walks you through the setup. I like how you can chose your recovery method such as a basic 12 word seed for simplicity or the Shamir Backup for redundancy. The device also offers an optional PIN to confirm all wallet actions for security. Trezor also allows you to setup a hidden wallet secured by a passphrase, that is not normally visible, effectively thwarting any wallet thieves. In the event the wallet is lost or stolen, you recover your crypto using your seed words or with enough shares in the case of Shamir. The Trezor suite provides a clean interface with your hardware wallet, allowing you to not just send/receive coins but also buy, sell, and exchange coins through a variety of third parties. Unfortunately, the fees these providers charge can vary substantially and I found dedicated exchanges to offer a better value. Regardless, it is great to have the functionality built into the suite. Though the wallet does not interact directly with a mobile device, there is a companion app you can use to check balances and receive coins. The Model T is a great choice for hardware wallets, thanks to its open source nature and proven track record. For someone looking to take control of their private keys and their crypto, the Trezor Model T should be at the top of their list.

Take the Leap or Just Dip Your Toes into Crypto

I am finally giving it a go and leaping into the Crypto currency world. Well, leap is a stretch... more like dipping my toes into it. The first thing I want to do my best to ensure that it is in fact encrypted and protected. For those of you newer to Crypto it's a currency that is totally digital with no physical assets to account for unlike a dollar bill. Now that I've cleared that up. The Trezor is pretty neat. It's not as stealthy or as much of a beauty as I expected but it seems to have all the bare bones I need to ensure I can confirm my currency transfers, verify my balances, and it has a dual control pin so that there isn't a way for someone to log into my account without me verifying that log in. The LCD screen is responsive and for something that was not in color and super basic I had an immense fear I'd push the wrong buttons since the screen is so small but it is pretty intuitive and responsive to touch. The connection port is USB-C so Trezor made sure to standardize the cable with other cables in recent years which is an advantage. Now the size is absolutely great for the sake of being discrete, fits in a pant pocket, bag, or even luggage. It's rounded shape also means it will not snag on anything. My only concern is that the USB-C port to the Trezor T is exposed and doesn't have a cover so I fear that small debris or condensation might get in there. I'll report on that as time passes. There is a micro sd slot which I haven't quite figured out yet. In the box you get the Model T, the USB C wire, and a magnet to store the Trezor T anywhere. I was a little baffled with the instructions because the box doesn't really give you details on whether to break the seal on the Model T before you do anything else. My gut reaction with all devices is to charge them before use. I'm going to guess that Trezor needs to update this for effective set up. That took me a bit to understand and I wish it was a bit simpler. Otherwise, once your plugged into a pc the setup is fast. I have no idea if I could have set it up from my phone because Trezor doesn't clarify that, so that is a pitfall for me. I don't want to have to turn on the computer to access my Trezor and Crypto each time. Overall, this is a great little device to add to your gadgets if you are managing crypto and want to ensure to add a layer of security. My favorite part of the device is the multiple passphrases that are unique to your device. It makes it even more layered with security.

This Trezor Model T Advanced Crypto Hardware Wallet is the most secure way to protect your cryptocurrency. The setup is seamless, with no issues at all. My laptop discovered the device immediately. It led me to the page to download the free suite of software that comes with the hardware wallet. It guides you through setting up your wallet, or recovering another wallet. You choose what goes on your dashboard. You select from a lot of different cryptocurrencies, and buy or sell from the suit or software. It is very secure, and easy to use. You don’t have to be an advanced user or an expert to use this device and software. It’s very self explanatory. A beginner would do just fine with this set of hardware wallet and software suite. I have some experience with cryptocurrency, but this is my first time using a device like this one. I have always done everything online. The software suite also lets you transfer your existing cryptocurrencies to the device and software suite, so you can keep everything together and manage it all in one place. Great device.

If you’re looking for a safe and easy hardware wallet to manage and store your crypto, you may want to check out the Trezor Model T. It has a sleek and modern design that can fit in your pocket. The build quality is excellent, and the touchscreen is responsive. The security features are top-notch. The device is protected by a PIN code and a recovery seed phrase. The desktop app also supports forced TOR connectivity which requires all Trezor app communication to happen over the TOR network. This is easy to use and can be setup during the initial configuration wizard. A really cool feature that I haven’t seen in other wallets. The device supports a wide range of blockchains and tokens, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, and many more. I can easily switch between different coins and wallets using the Trezor web interface or the Trezor native apps. The device also integrates with third-party services and platforms, such as Exodus, MetaMask, and Uniswap, which can make it even more versatile. Overall, I'm very happy with this device. It is a great investment for anyone who is serious about crypto. It is easy to set up and use, and it gives me peace of mind that my assets are safe and accessible. It is worth every penny, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality hardware wallet.

Summary: I was very happy to receive this wallet as it adds a touch screen which greatly improves the user interface compared to other wallets with limited sets of buttons, The device itself works great with the software suite and keeps things relatively simple on the surface for beginners while having advances features for power users that want to dig further into the software. There are a few quarks but overall, this is a great crypto wallet! Pros: -Form factor -Touch screen -Software ease of use -Security options -Set up -Web interface option Cons: -Touch screen very recessed (makes pressing hard) -Adhesive residue -Limited surface level coin support (for beginners) First impressions: The device is small and even comes with a little magnetic holder you can stick to a wall for storage. The included cable is USB A to USB C. I would have liked a USB-C adaptor for those laptops that do not have a USB A port. There are a bunch of stickers in the box which my kids liked. The device is light and feels sturdy with thick plastic that is matte textured. My only gripe off the bat was the security sticker. It is there for a purpose and useful for peace of mind, but it leaves A LOT of adhesive on the device you will have to rub off for a while or use an adhesive remover. Set up: The initial process is very easy. I decided to set up a new wallet instead of restoring one from an older device since crypto fees were low for transactions at the time to ensure a clean setup and maximum compatibility. The backup is 12 words that will be presented at setup. Like most wallets, DO NOT LOSE this backup code as you will potentially lose access to your funds forever if you forget your PIN. The Trezor software suite makes things very easy to set up with a wizard that guides you through each step. The initial selection of coins felt rather weak as the website advertises support for 8000+ coins. There were some I could not find native support in the device for but most of the major ones are present. If you want to set up support for more obscure coins you will need to do some research and might potentially need other software to make it happen. You will be able to set up a standard wallet and add hidden wallets as needed. The main set of supported coins you will see in setup are Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, XRP, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Dash, DigiByte, Dogecoin, Namecoin, Vertcoin, Zcash, Cardano and Solana. There is also support for testnet coins. Other minor coins likely need a wallet app that supports those coins with Trezor compatibility. Daily use: Transactions are straight forward. Start to send or receive, display your address, copy it to wherever it is going and send. Every step requires you to acknowledge on the Trezor device to ensure you are not sending money by accident. The whole process felt very secure. I found my way on the web software suite which is highly convenient as it means you will not have to install the program on each PC you use. I only keep the software on one computer and use the web interface on others for convenience. I like the addition of the touch screen as it makes things very easy, but the screen is very recessed from the frame which makes touching PIN or text entries with your fingertip hard toward the edges. The recessed frame is good for durability as you will be unlikely to break the screen even if dropped and stepped on, but it does create usability issues as you cannot tap with your nail. Also, most text entry is done via a T9 style keyboard which works well except for the issue I mentioned with edges. For power users, there is an option to install custom firmware, but it is advised against for most users. Security: I was very impressed by all the options. At the most basic level, you will have your backup code and a PIN to keep things safe. If you want to get more advanced, you can add a Micro SD card which will have an encrypted key the device will not operate without. You can also utilize Tor for anonymity. I also stumbled upon a “discreet mode” which will hide your account balances and sensitive information while using the software or web interface. Last, I want to mention I love the ability to set custom wallpaper!

The Trezor Model T Crypto Wallet sets a high standard for security and ease of use right from the start. Its straightforward setup is further enhanced by the physical seal on the USB-C port, a thoughtful detail that assures users of the device's integrity. The vibrant color screen is easy to use, with responsive touch input making navigation and operation smooth and intuitive. The clarity of the display ensures that instructions and keypads are easily readable, which, combined with a seamless firmware update process, makes setting up the wallet a hassle-free experience. Additionally, the wallet creation is just a few clicks into the process, offering access to a wide array of cryptocurrencies. The wallet supports a plethora of coins, catering to both popular and niche market needs. This range includes major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, Doge, among others, ensuring that it meets the diverse needs of its users. The inclusion of an innovative feature – a magnet that can be installed on a metal surface – is particularly noteworthy. This allows users to securely attach the device to a chosen surface, providing a practical solution to keep the wallet within reach and out of drawers, blending security with convenience. In conclusion, the Trezor Model T is an excellent choice for anyone serious about cryptocurrency security. Its robust build, coupled with a user-friendly interface and extensive coin support, makes it a top recommendation. However, it's crucial to remember that the ultimate security of this device depends on the owner's commitment to safeguarding their backup information. The device empowers users with high-grade security tools, but with great power comes great responsibility. With its thoughtful design and impressive features, the Trezor Model T stands out as a beacon of security in the cryptocurrency world.

Anyone who wants to start investing in cryptocurrency should look into Trezor hardware solution for two simple reasons: security and simplicity. While the device is rich with advanced features, its basic functions, which are buying, selling and exchanging cryptos, as well as sending and receiving them, are simple enough. The hardware works with bitcoin and popular cryptos out there. Hardware solution like Trezor is the safest method from the point of view of cyber security. And buying the hardware from a trusted seller like Best Buy gives us a peace of mind. Upon setting up the device with a PC, the Trezor app asked us to confirm that we purchased the hardware from a trusted seller and both the packaging as well as the hologram seal are intact. The Trezor Suite (the app) asked us to record 12 passwords in the English language and to keep a written copy of those words in our safekeeping. It then asked us to create a PIN for the hardware. Once it has been setup, we’re ready to start investing in cryptocurrency. You can also move your existing cryptocurrency assets to the Trezor device. The app is integrated with Invity for seamless transaction with verified exchange partners. There is an option to activate TOR connection, which adds another layer of security. It is worth to mention that according to Trezor on its website “everybody can look at the code used in Trezor devices and verify its integrity”. Of course, the system is not without potential flaw, which subsequently requires a good degree of self-discipline. With hardware solution like this, never lose our hardware. So, there are two cardinal rules that one has to adhere to: First, store your hardware in a very safe place. The hardware comes with a magnetic attachment so you can safely store it say inside a safe and put it on its metal wall. Second, never lose the recovery seeds card. Again, safely store the card and don’t lose it. Buying crypto from exchanges is easy and simple enough. The app makes the process simple enough and it will guide us through the whole process. A link to an external website will be open and there is even an option to run the link through the Tor network, which is a thoughtful and useful feature for those who need another layer of security. Initial transaction will need some verification of IDs, which is the norm. All in all, this device should appeal to both beginner and advance investor in cryptos.

Trezor Model T Secure Crypto wallet with color LCD

The Trezor Model T is a secure and easy way to store your cryptocurrency. The new Model T from Trezor has a color 1.54-inch color LCD display. This is a great improvement from the Model 1 and light years ahead of the Ledger wallets in both usability and readability. The wallet is X-ray safe making it ok for air travel. It has a USB C connector and and microSD card slot. Setup is s breeze you download the Trezor desktop suite or use the web suite. Plug in the Trezor wallet after removing the holographic security seal that is placed to ensure no tampering has been done to your wallet before your use. Trezor supplies a USBC to USBA cable to connect this to your computer, you can use a USBC to USBC for your smartphone or tablet. According to Trezor they are working on a new Trezor Suite Mobile app for all mobile operating systems. You then choose simple 12 word passphrase setup or Shamir passphrase with 3 (2 needed to restore) or 5 (3 needed to restore) different passphrase groups generated for even more security. You then choose if the wallet is standard (unprotected) or Hidden (protected) with another password and finally assign your Trezor a Pin. Whew locked up tighter than Fort Knox! If you want even more protection the Model T can use a microSD card to further enhance your security. You will have to use trezorctl and a microSDcard formatted in fat32. You will enable the use of the card after that an encrypted code is stored on the SD card and you will not be able to log into it without first inserting the sd card in the Trezor wallet. The full details are documented on the Trezor website. You can use the webapp from the Trezor website and chrome browser in Android with full functionality or Trezor Suite lite for Android or IOS which only allows monitoring and receiving crypto. I am not sure if the newest iPhone with a USBC port can use the full webapp. There are several third party options to extend or add to The functionality and usefulness of the Model T beyond the Trezor suite. There wallet options compatible with the Trezor Model T, each allowing different features and functionalities. All of these are documented on the Trezor website. I have outlined them in a table below. • Wallet Options for Trezor Model T: • Electrum: • Supports: 1. Basic setup 2. Personal wallets 3. Shared wallets 4. Hidden wallets 5. Multiple accounts 6. Watch-only mode 7. Firmware updates • Exodus: • Supports: 1. Basic setup 2. Personal wallets 3. Shared wallets 4. Multiple accounts 5. Watch-only mode 6. Firmware updates • Lacks: 1. Personal wallets 2. Shared wallets 3. Hidden wallets 4. Multiple accounts 5. Firmware updates • Lacks: 1. Basic setup • Third-Party Services Connecting to Trezor Model T: • Bitstamp: • Features: 2. Sign-in with Trezor 3. Real-time bitcoin exchange • Coinmate: • Features: 1. Sign-in with Trezor 2. Real-time bitcoin exchange • Coinmap: • Features: 1. Sign-in with Trezor 2. Direct transactions 3. Provides a map of bitcoin shops and businesses • Coinpayments: • Features: 1. Sign-in with Trezor 2. Payment processor service for various cryptocurrencies (does not directly transact) • Faa.st: • Features: 1. Sign-in with Trezor 2. Direct transactions 3. Functions as a portfolio manager integrated with an exchange I also found that you can connect the new Helium wallet (Black one) to the Trezor Model T to support Helium tokens on the Solana chain. I have to give the New Trezor Model T a big thumbs up. I found it easier to use than my Ledger wallets with better readability and easier data entry. Third party support expands it usability to almost every token. There are a few coins that Ledger supports natively hopefully Trezor will continue to expand their native support. The Trezor model T is my primary cold wallet now.
