As someone newer to the world of cryptocurrency, finding a wallet that felt secure but wasn’t overly complicated was a top priority for me. After researching various options, I chose the Trezor Safe 5, and it has been a great choice so far. What really stands out about this device is how user-friendly it is, even for someone who isn’t highly tech-savvy. From setup to everyday use, it’s designed to make managing cryptocurrency feel simple and safe. The first thing I noticed when using the Trezor Safe 5 is the color touchscreen. It’s bright, clear, and incredibly easy to navigate, which makes the whole experience feel a lot more approachable. The screen itself is a 1.54-inch display with good resolution, so everything looks sharp and easy to read. I also loved the haptic feedback—basically, the device vibrates slightly when you select an option, which reassured me that my inputs were registering correctly. Setting up the wallet was smooth and didn’t take much time at all. After plugging it in with the USB-C connection, the Trezor app guided me through every step in a way that felt intuitive, even for someone like me who’s still learning the ropes with crypto. When it comes to ease of use, the Trezor Safe 5 shines. The interface is simple to understand, and the touchscreen makes everything from sending crypto to checking balances a breeze. One of the best parts is that I don’t feel overwhelmed by complicated settings—everything is laid out clearly, and the device walks you through essential tasks like setting up a PIN and backing up your wallet. Plus, it’s not just a wallet for storing your crypto; you can also use it for things like staking and trading directly from the app, which is super convenient. For anyone new to hardware wallets, the Trezor Safe 5 is a great option that balances security and ease of use without making you feel like you need to be an expert to figure it out.

    Big upgrade!

I’m writing this review coming from the Trezor Model T and will be doing some comparisons between the two along with my general thoughts on it. This is also my 3rd hardware wallet to own, and I only trust my assets to hardware wallets, at the least the ones for long-term storage. First off, the form factor is the noticeably different, in a good way. While its still about the same size as the Model T, its like an iPhone had a Trezor baby….big improvement! Very slick and modern design. The Model T was nice, but all that plastic with the raised edge around the touch screen made it difficult to press buttons on-screen easily, and I don’t have big hands or fingers. It’s a completely flat surface with a high quality Gorilla Glass screen, so no need to worry easy scratches or cracks. The backside has the Trezor logo (similar to how Apple has their logo on the back of their phones). The performance of this upgraded model is impressive as well, it seems to be much more responsive and includes haptic feedback, which I like having the confirmation of being notified of it registering my input. The swipe function to confirm or continue reading is also nice for one-handed responses. There is also an option for a Micro SD Card for additional security. Basically it’s an extra security step that would require the SD card in it to access your accounts, however its not an easy setup. It requires some technical background and command line interface input. I’m no stranger to the tech, but I was not able to get it working from my Windows machine, even after installing the additional software and following each step. Will be much better if they can integrate it into Trezor Suite down the road and have a much simpler option for enabling it. Great idea though. Another neat feature is that this connects to your phone to access from the Trezor Suite app. Unfortunately you can’t send crypto through this, only view your current accounts. Also, I noticed the app was missing some coins such a Polygon/Matic even though it was on the Desktop app. So not sure if that will be fixed with an update or was intentional with the Polygon upgrade/migration coming up. I also noticed the app was not reporting corrected balances until I drilled down into the specific account. One thing I do like about Trezor suite is that it does allow for Solana tokens to be shown, unlike other wallets I’ve dealt with. One of the big downsides is the lack of support for popular coins and tokens. Their large list of supported tokens are mostly ERC-20 based (Ethereum), so they would have to be pegged to ETH to hold in this wallet. It does support the big players such as BTC, LTC, SOL, XRP, etc… but you won’t get much luck out of the Trezor Suite if you want some lesser known tokens and coins, which there are a lot of! I was also having issues with the Exodus app accessing Trezor as I was receiving Trezor Bridge errors, but this is not a Trezor issue as far as I know. Overall, the hardware seems to be a big upgrade but the software could still use some fixes and upgrades of its own. I also wish I could rename my Trezors within the Suite to help distinguish between them, which I have not found a way to do so yet. If you only hold some of the bigger, well-known crypto, I think this is a great wallet. You can add support for other coins by using the Exodus wallet with Trezor too, but don’t expect it to hold a large variety of coins that aren’t ERC-20 based. I do love one-handed action with it when confirming transactions. I wish it had the magnet mount on it like the Model T, it was so convenient and easy to hide under a desk. I also hope they make it possible to use your phone app to send crypto, not just receive. Trezor is a solid brand with open-source software, with good features such as Hidden Wallet and Shamir backup.

I've been using the Trezor Safe 5 for a week now, and I'm thoroughly impressed. As someone who's dabbled in crypto for a while, I've tried a few different hardware wallets, but this one has really stood out. First off, the security is top-notch. Trezor has really stepped up with this new wallet. They start by a physical security tape over the USB C port on the wallet to ensure it is not tampered with prior to you receiving it. Next I know my private keys are safe and sound thanks to that Secure Element chip. It's like having a personal vault for my crypto. The wallet is protected with a PIN and passphrase. The 1.54” Gorilla glass 3 color touchscreen is a game-changer too. It's so easy to navigate and makes managing my coins a breeze. Haptic feedback confirms keypresses. If you only want to manage Bitcoin you can choose to set up a Bitcoin only wallet otherwise the Universal wallet can be used to manage most crypto coins. I love how it supports so many different cryptocurrencies. I've got a bunch of different coins, and the Safe 5 handles them all without a hitch. You can use 12-, 20- & 24-word wallet seed or Shamir backup. The backup feature is also really handy. I've got a few recovery seed fragments stored in different places using Shamir backup, so I'm always covered. Think of Shamir Backup as a puzzle with multiple pieces. Instead of having just one recovery seed (like a single key to your vault), you create several pieces, or "shares." To access your crypto, you need a certain number of these shares, not just any one. If you lose one shared key you will still be able to use the others to restore the wallet. You can decide how many shared keys to create and how many are needed to access the wallet when you set it up. So, with Shamir Backup, your crypto is like a well-guarded treasure chest, requiring multiple keys to unlock. It's a smart way to keep your digital assets safe and sound. If you really want to be extra secure, Trezor even includes a MicroSD slot to allow you to use a MicroSD card to further encrypt your pin, if you set this up you will need to physically insert the MicroSD card when entering your pin to unlock your wallet. The Trezor Suite is very easy to use. You can track your balances, buy, sell or stake crypto all on the application. You can also use the Tor network to protect your privacy if you want. Transactions are confirmed on your Trezor Safe5. The Safe5 connects to your computer with a supplied USB C to USB C cable. The wallet is powered by your computer and there is no battery to go dead or leak. Trezor supplies 2 cards to record your passphrase. Overall, I'm super happy with the Trezor Safe 5. It's reliable, secure, and easy to use. If you're looking for a hardware wallet to protect your crypto, I highly recommend it.

Crypto Hardware Wallets Are The Only Way To Go!

I now have multiple Trezor hardware wallets for my cryptocurrency, which works out well for me because I have multiple people in my will that I am leaving my cryptocurrency to. So that makes it a lot easier for me to give them the hardware wallet, with the seed key/PIN and make sure that they each get exactly what it is I want them to get with regards to cryptocurrency. This Trezor Safe 5 is a little bit of a step up with regards to my other 2 Trezor cryptocurrency hardware wallets due to it having haptic feedback, but the screen is still rather small and so punching things in can be a little bit of a chore if you have bigger fingers; luckily I am only 5'4" and 120-ish pounds and so my body, including my hands and fingers, are on the smaller side; but even for me it was a little iffy. However, I got it set up without really any issues. Especially since I had used and setup my two other Trezor hardware wallets. The hardware itself feels sturdy, but lightweight; it feels premium without any extra bulk; it felt sleek without being slippery. It really just feels perfect from the weight, to the finish. I believe that you truly cannot go wrong with a Trezor hardware wallet. It is insanely better than on an exchange where they could go belly up at any time (*cough* FT...uh-hum...*cough* nevermind).

When I first got my hands on the Trezor Safe 5 Crypto Hardware Wallet, I was eager to see how it stacked up against the competition in terms of ease of use, security, and overall experience. As someone who's reviewed a fair share of tech, especially in the realm of cryptocurrency, the unboxing experience is always a key first impression for me. Unboxing and Setup The packaging of the Trezor Safe 5 is minimalist yet professional. It comes in a compact box, with tamper-evident seals, which adds a nice touch of security right from the get-go. Inside, the wallet itself has a clean, matte finish and feels solid without being too heavy, fitting comfortably in my hand. It comes with a USB cable, instruction manual, and recovery seed cards. Setting up the device was straightforward. The process is initiated through the Trezor Suite app, which guides you step-by-step. The app interface is clean, making it easy to understand even for those who may be new to hardware wallets. You generate a recovery seed during setup—an essential security step for recovering your assets should you lose the wallet. Writing down the seed is emphasized, and I appreciated the reminders to store it securely. Security Features As a hardware wallet, the Trezor Safe 5 lives up to its promise of being highly secure. The PIN protection and physical confirmation for transactions add layers of security that you just don’t get with software wallets. Plus, the wallet is fully open-source, meaning anyone can audit the code for vulnerabilities—a significant confidence booster for security-conscious users like myself. One feature I found particularly reassuring was the option to set up a passphrase in addition to the PIN, providing an extra level of encryption for more sensitive assets. Another highlight is its integration with a range of cryptocurrencies, allowing you to store and manage not only Bitcoin but also Ethereum, Litecoin, and a host of other altcoins. The Trezor Suite app also supports a range of third-party applications, which extends the wallet’s functionality into realms like decentralized finance (DeFi). Everyday Use In daily use, the Trezor Safe 5 performs reliably. The device’s OLED screen, while small, is clear and bright enough to easily confirm transaction details before signing them. It’s powered via USB, so it doesn’t require charging, and it’s small enough to easily fit into a pocket or bag. I appreciated how quickly it connects to the app when plugged into my computer, and the transaction confirmation process is quick and smooth. For beginners, the Trezor Suite app makes managing crypto fairly intuitive, though more advanced users will also appreciate the additional security features. It integrates seamlessly with services like Binance and MetaMask, which is a huge plus for those who interact with exchanges frequently. Conclusion Overall, the Trezor Safe 5 Crypto Hardware Wallet is a solid choice for anyone looking to store their digital assets securely. It balances ease of use with advanced security features, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced crypto users. The setup is smooth, the device feels premium, and its open-source nature adds to its appeal for those who prioritize transparency in their security tools. For anyone serious about protecting their crypto assets, the Trezor Safe 5 is a wallet worth considering.

The Trezor Safe 5 hardware wallet is something I'd recommend for anyone serious about crypto security. From the moment I unboxed it, the sleek, modern design and Gorilla Glass display caught my eye. Setup was a breeze, thanks to the intuitive user interface and bright color touchscreen. It’s far more responsive and enjoyable to use than previous hardware wallets I’ve tried. Navigating the device feels seamless, especially with the touch haptic feedback, which gives a reassuring buzz every time I confirm a critical action. This small feature really improves the overall experience, as it adds an extra layer of assurance that your commands are being executed. When it comes to security, the Trezor Safe 5 is top-notch. The NDA-free EAL6+ certified Secure Element is a huge win for peace of mind. Knowing my assets are protected from both online and offline threats gives me a level of confidence I haven’t felt with other wallets. The passphrase feature adds even more protection, and the fact that this wallet uses open-source code is a big plus. I love that the community can actively verify and improve the security of this device. Trezor’s open-source design means that, over time, any potential vulnerabilities are spotted and fixed by a large pool of experts. As someone who takes crypto privacy seriously, I also appreciate the enhanced privacy tools like coin control and integration with the Tor network, which make transactions more secure and anonymous. One of the most standout features for me is how easy it is to manage my assets. Connecting it to the Trezor Suite app is simple, and from there, I can send, receive, and trade crypto effortlessly. Managing my portfolio has never been easier, and I’ve found that this wallet supports just about every major coin and token out there. That kind of compatibility is crucial for anyone holding a diverse portfolio. Plus, the Gorilla Glass display ensures that the device feels sturdy and premium. I've been using it daily, and it hasn't picked up any scratches or signs of wear, which is great for long-term use. That being said, there are a couple of minor downsides. While the wallet performs well, I wish it came with a built-in battery, as it needs to be connected to a device to operate. Additionally, the touchscreen, while responsive, can sometimes feel a bit small when navigating more detailed settings or entering passphrases. However, these are small complaints in the grand scheme of things. Overall, the Trezor Safe 5 is an excellent investment for anyone looking to secure their crypto assets with confidence.

I’m not a crypto expert, but I have dabbled in a it a little with some extra cash as a side investment. While I don’t know how it will turn out in the long run, one thing that has always kind of bothered me about the online accounts are that if you look in their T&Cs they say that if anything happens to them that you are considered an unsecured creditor. So basically the crypto is actually theirs and you just play around with it as long as the company is solvent. That never sat well with me and I’ve wanted for a while to have a wallet that once disconnected from a computer is completely detached and secure from hackers and other issues. This wallet is just the kind of thing I was looking for. When you open it you’ll notice how concerned they are with security. They have a sticker over the USB plug that will read void as soon as its removed. It seems a little over the top but if you think about it, a good way to steal money is to hack one of these devices and send it on to an unsuspecting victim to load up all their crypto and just transfer it away. They also make you set up a backup passcode and go over multiple times how it should be written down and not saved on a computer where it can be hacked. This all goes to a strong feeling of security with the device. Once its up and running its pretty easy to set up an account and transfer your crypto over. I only have one type and it worked fine, but I can’t really speak to any hiccups with other forms of crypto, but I’m assuming it will work fine with them as well. I’ve gotten back into the device a few time since I set it up, I don’t really trade or use my crypto much so I didn’t have a need to other than checking on the device. It seems to be working great. The device says its secure and can even go through an X-ray at the airport. I don’t know if I feel that save with it if its got a bunch of value on it, but its good to know someone has tested it. Overall I’m happy with it and I like that it helps fight the issues that can come up with 100% online exchanges.

The Trezor Safe 5 is another great crypto wallet in the Trezor lineup. It feels like each new wallet is an improvement over the last. The Safe 5 features a color touch screen with haptic feedback. Like other Trezor models, it also features top notch security features, including 12, 20, or 24 word backup. It comes with a security tag over the usb port, and the first time you plug it in, you are prompted to download the Trezor software and install the firmware, since the wallet ships without firmware as an added safety measure. The whole setup process only takes a few minutes and you are up and running with very secure hardware crypto wallet. The wallet itself feels very sleek. Previous models feel cheap in comparison. This one has gorilla glass on the front as well as anodized aluminum on the back. And the overall design is just sleeker and more minimal than previous models. Overall I am very happy with the Trezor Safe 5. It is an incredibly secure, well made hardware wallet that I would easily recommend for anyone looking for a high quality hardware wallet.

Hardware wallets in general are an excellent tool to keep your cryptocurrency private keys safe and offline. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone interacting in web3. Trezor has really continued to push the envelope with hardware wallets and the Safe 5 is no exception. In general this is a very high quality product. It feels sturdy, the touch screen is a great interface to interact with transactions and the Trezor software is some of the best. THe unboxing is honestly some of the more satisfying pieces of this product. You want every part of your hardware wallet to be secure and Trezor takes that all the way to the box. The Safe 5 even has a tamper seal over the usb port so you know that no one has done anything to the device since it left the factory. The size and usability of the device are great. It's easy to store away and the larger touch screen is much easier to interact with than older Trezor models. Overall this is a great hardware wallet that supports all the crypto you could imagine in a shiny easy to use package.

I had looked at several hardware wallets over the years and with there being so many, it's hard to settle on one. Some only support certain tokens while others might support a multitude that they forgo support of more popular ones. The Trezor appears to avoid this. It supports thousands coins of tokens, stemming from meme coins to ETH, BTC etc. It is a bit bulky but the features it offers more than make up for the size. The Haptic feedback is a welcomed featured. There's also the benefit of having a Color Touchscreen as well. It's incredibly easy to use and setup. This process took all of maybe 2 minutes to go through including installing their mobile app and registering. Migrating my wallet was also simple enough. One nice feature of the Safe 5 is you can technically use it as a Cold Wallet as it features an SD card. Meaning you can put your currency on to the SD Card and then insert it into the Trezor and then connect your Safe 5 to a phone or computer that is not connected to the internet and manage the wallet. This is a really nice feature for those that value keeping their Crypto secure. Otherwise the wallet will function a normal "hot" wallet since it would require an Internet connection to receive transactions. The app is also clean and easy to use/navigate. I'm sure this will be a welcome upgrade of my current one for years to come. If you're looking for a Wallet from well known and established company, the Trezor Safe 5 is literally a Safe bet. Being able to use it as a Cold wallet is certainly a great selling point for those concerned of having their device connected to the internet.

The Trezor Safe 5 has quickly become an indispensable tool for managing my digital assets. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its sleek, modern design, highlighted by the Gorilla Glass-protected display. Security is paramount, and the Trezor Safe 5 delivers on all fronts. The passphrase feature adds an extra layer of protection, giving me peace of mind that my assets are secure. The EAL6+ Certified Secure Element is another standout, ensuring that even the most sophisticated threats are kept at bay. I particularly appreciate the open-source design, which allows for community vetting of the wallet’s security features. The haptic feedback is a subtle yet impactful addition, providing tactile confirmations that enhance the overall user experience. Connecting the wallet to the Trezor Suite app was a breeze, making transactions, asset tracking, and even trading incredibly straightforward. This is the perfect tool for all of your digital asset management, giving you full capability of storing all of your crypto on-hand. The small little package it comes in has the Trezor 5 Key, short USB-C to -C cable, and the standard key card to record all of your backup keys on. DO NOT LOSE THIS CARD, STORE IN A SAFE PLACE. It is also noted during your setup process of your Trezor to records and store this card somewhere where it will not be lost or stolen from your records. Initial setup does take 10-15 minutes from scratch. The display is a little larger then on previous models as it is a color touchscreen for navigation over the buttons. There are various layers of protection for consideration while setting up your key for use and advisal on how to protect yourself from lockout or losing all of your crypto during transfers. Trezor’s number one priorty is security and one additional layer of protection is the use of passphrases and the use of lastest generation Security Elements (Evaluation Assurance Level 6+ or EAL6+) for the highest levels of device application security. One additional new feature is the haptic feedback during use to unlock and navigate the key. All transactions are accomplished via the Trezor suite; easy to navigate and use, including install/setup on your apple or windows based system.

I'm pretty new to crypto and I only have a few dollars in crypto but I wanted to be able to protect my minor investment as I plan to grow it into major investments. When I opened the box, I saw that there was protective tape over the connection. In multiple places in the setup, it was made clear to not use if the security tape was removed. It would leave void marks once tape is removed so it's very noticeable if tampered with. I'm pleased with the security features with the Trezor safe 5. It's not a standalone as it has to be plugged into using the USB C cable for power. The security pin is entered on the touchscreen but the numbers change places so that they can't be seen by bystanders. When setting up, it gives 20 random words and then three checks to confirm those words. Those are not to be stored digitally and to be kept somewhere that is safe. Its tutorial is on the touchscreen and provides haptic feedback. That's a nice feature as it confirms each answer. The setup takes only 10-15 minutes. I've not used the mobile app. I've only used it with a PC so I can't speak on how the app behaves. I do like how it supports multiple cryptocurrencies. I hope it won't take long for me to be less of a newbie and more of an old pro with the help of this wallet.

One of the greatest ways to keep your crypto safe is with something such as this hardware. One of the things that I like about this specific hardware is the colored screen. I know it is probably a minor things for some or don’t mean anything at all but with color it is more engaging. With this hardware your data is protected by you remaining anonymous, you own all of your coins. This specific hardware supports various amounts of coins. This hardware keeps your coins safe by mirroring a vault to keep your valuables safe, sort of like a bank. This protects your coins from data leaks if it were to be exposed online. It is fairly easy to transfer your coins to this wallet. You can start by downloading the app. It is easy to set this up and have all of your crypto currencies in one place. It is simple for sending and receiving and storing all of your coins. One feature I like is the stylish design and colors this device comes in. You cannot go wrong with purchasing this device to keep all of your crypto safe from the hands of hackers.

The Trezor - Safe 5 - Passphrase & Secure Element Crypto Hardware Wallet with Touch Screen and Haptic Feedback - Black Graphite provides a new and innovative approach to your crypto-security and physical wallet. This new approach continues to provide the safety and security that is expected in a digital wallet, but in a tangible device that you can touch and secure offline away from hackers and corruption. I found this hardware device to be a great upgrade to other devices I have used. The physical and digital screen responds to touch and delivers a physical-haptic response to trades, codes, and other inputs. Visibly appealing, this device is easy to read and clear understanding is immediate compared to other tiny screens with questionable readouts. PROS - Trezor quality and attention to details - Easy to read/understand - Haptic touch responses ensure confirmations of data input - Small, fits in briefcase, computer bags, or pockets for on the go access to your Crypto - 100s of coins available with this wallet CONS - Only concern is what happens if the touch response fails over time. Will you lose access to assets?
