The quality of this headset is very good. Everything feels solid, the microphone picks up my voice very well, though it seems a little too sensitive at times, because it picks up every sound in my house, including my old, super loud gas furnace about 15 feet away and that can annoy anyone that I'm in a party with on Xbox Live. Sound is great, picks up tons of little details while playing anything from Call of Duty to NHL14. Not sure if it's just a cord or if it's the connection of the wire to the ear cup, but every so often I've had some small issues with not being able to hear people or them not being able to hear me, and I have to mess with the wires a bit. This review was prompted after I bought my brother a set of these to replace the ones that he had that broke after more than a year's use and abuse. This is the same set, as he was happy with them and the price was reasonable compared to others. The problems that I mentioned before were from my headset that I've owned for over a year now and still works, albeit with a little hassle every so often. Great quality, took some abuse over the year+ that I've owned mine, and I'll probably keep coming back to Turtle Beach, unless someone like SteelSeries blows me out of the water with something at a reasonable price. Lastly, the only thing that I wish was different about these was that I wish they had removable/replaceable earcups... In the warmer months they can get a little hot/sweaty/dirty and I wish I could swap them out with new ones, but they appear to be permanently fastened.

This headset is pretty comfortable and adjustable. The sound is good. I had one before and it lasted for three or four years, which isn't bad for the cost. Be patient and you can often find it on sale for $40.

Comfortable, good mic, good sound for the price paid. (on sale for $36). Have had good luck with Turtle Beach lasting a while with moderate abuse. Had to buy an adapter to work with my model.

I wanted to get a set of gaming headphones that were not that expensive. I bought it when it was on sale for $30 instead of $50. The audio is very clear and the bass, audio volume, and chat volume are all adjustable. I did not use it for online multiplayer games, so I can't comment on the chat features. It sounds very good when playing Fallout 4. The over-ear headphone speakers are angled such that they fit neatly over my ears without becoming uncomfortable over time. The only time that they do become slightly uncomfortable is when I am wearing my glasses, but it is not that noticeable.

Good Surround Sound on My Mac when Used with DSS2

Good surround sound on my Mac. Originally bought this with the DSS2 piece for surround sound on my 17" Macbook Pro. When I upgraded to a 15" late 2013 MBP, the surround worked but the mic would not when paired with the onboard sound card. (17" had both a mic and headphone jack, 15" went to a single combined jack). By using a Turtle Beach Amigo II USB sound card on the 15" MBP, I'm now able to get the surround sound and use the mic. Had to buy this set of headphones w/o DSS2 because there is a fairly small piece that allows the ear cups to swivel and adjust to your ears/head where the ear cups attached to the headband. After about 1.5 years of use, I set the headphones down (set them down, didn't toss them) on my desk and left the room for a few minutes. When I came back I noticed one of the ear cups just hanging by the wires. Not sure when or how it happened, but they obviously wouldn't stay on any more. This time when I purchased the headphones alone, I got the 2 year Geek Squad protection plan in case it happens again. Other than that the headphones do what I want, are fairly comfortable and provide the mic for an occasional use for online chat or moderating a SANS class. I'm not a gamer and have yet to use the headphones for gaming. My main use is for online classes, and to get surround sound while watching movies/tv clips on my Mac. IMPORTANT, these headphones alone DO NOT PROVIDE SURROUND SOUND, you MUST have some other surround sound processor in addition to the headphones.

Sound quality is great, hopefully the durability is there as well but so far so good. The setup is super awkward with all the wires and connections, but I am the type that does not like having to constantly charge things so I was able to cleanly tie and route all the cabling, some people might find that a bit of a turn off which I could understand. If you prefer wired instead of wireless though, it had everything you need for the XBOX.

I have a pair and bought a pair for my son. I have heard people complain about them breaking, but neither of mine have had any issues. My only complaint is that the ear pieces are not detachable, so they can accumulate sweat and other gunk over time. The sound quality is good and I like that I have volume control and mute on the wire. The fit is comfortable for me and for my 10yr old son.

From someone with small ears who has trouble finding headphones, these are great and comfortable. You get that awesome in-game sound you'd expect from turtle beaches, and the mic/voice chat is clear. They are wired, but the cord is really long and allows plenty of movement without being uncomfortable.

    Better more expensive headsets

Great sound quality headset. We own two. Comfortable also which is a major plus. Our first headset hooked right up with no problem. We didn't need to use any audio cable. Very simple. Unfortunately the second set would not work right . Although both xbox units are hooked up via hdmi cable to the tv, the second headset needed to use the audio hookup. The problem at that point was that the audio cable for xbox plugs in next to thehdmi cable. The audio plug- in has a lip on it that makes it impossible to use at the same time as the hdmi so an additional $20 cable will be needed. If you purchase the headset on sale, the money saved will pay for this added expense if you need to purchase it. In the end you still have saved money vs. A more expensive headset. Have had no problems with either set and would buy again.

Needed a very comfortable and functional headset with mic that also fully enclosed/covered the ears for "quietness". I can use this headset for hour after hour and not feel uncomfortable. In addition, it includes both USB and pin connections, which I really like.

My son needed some new headphones for his X-Box. We decided to purchase the Turtle Beach Headset. He absolutely loves them. He says that the sound quality through the headsets is great and that they are very comfortable. Also they block out a lot of back ground noise, so he can hear the game better.

On a recommendation of one the Best Buy associates, I purchased the Turtle Beach headset for my grandson. He plays Roblox and Skypes with his friends at the same time. The Turtle Beach headset works great and has exceeded his expectations. Excellent Buy.

The sound quality is quite good and the headphones are very comfortable. The separate volume control for chat and game sound is very useful. The price was also good since they were bought on a Black Friday sale. On the downside, when I went to hook them up I discovered I needed to purchase an adapter for my XBox (other options given were not practical for me). The adapter was not too pricy but it required another trip to the store. If I had to do it over again I'd save my money and get a wireless version. The wires included with this unit are long enough to stretch across the room but you are always having to deal with 20 feet of wire getting snarled, etc. Coiling and uncoiling the wires is a pain and I should have gone wireless. If you get this item make sure to get the adapter to plug in the back of your XBox at the same time.

I used these with my PS4. Frickin' fantastic. I had an old pair that I beat to heck -- threw them down more than a few times after a few tough gaming losses -- and they kept going and going and going. Had to superglue them once or twice where I broke the plastic near the ear pieces but the wires actually NEVER went bad. A lot of headphones use garbage wires. These things, again, took a beating and kept on ticking. Finally got sick of supergluing the old ones and just bought a new pair after HATING the PS4 Gold wireless ones. Yeah, these are wired. Yeah, they're stereo. But whatever. GREAT control of game chat volume versus game volume. And good sound, period. Friends here me great, too. Really solid headset. PS. Yes, I believe I needed the Turtle Beach Ear Force PS4™ Chat Cable but whatever.

These are actually my second pair of this set. I love how it has a little control panel on the wire with different audio settings that you can set according to your preference. Since I'm strictly a PC gamer, the fact that it is PC compatible is really nice. Most headsets that I've seen only connect to Xbox. It has excellent sound quality and noise blocking protection. The only downside to this headset is that it breaks pretty easily, which is why I had to replace mine. Broke them in less than a year. I would highly recommend getting the 2-year warranty for this product so that you can just get them replaced if they break.

They sound great, the cables are long enough to reach anywhere that I sit in my living room, and the mic is sensitive, almost too much, though. I had to mute it all the time when my relatively loud furnace was running... it bothered my friends that were in the party. Other than that, I like the adjustments and bass boost, along with the mute ability. Comfortable, but I tend to get kind of warm with them on, and I need to take a 5 minute break or so every hour or two or they get uncomfortable. Either way, great for the price. Wondering if I can get them to work on my Xbox One with the stereo adapter... haven't tried yet, though. Not sure where I'd pick up the red and white component cables... Great for the Xbox 360!
