wireless xbox 360 headphones a bit short of desire

I've had and use regularly the wireless Turtle Beach X32 headphones for the xBox 360 to chat with family and play games such as Black Ops 2 and GTA V. I've purchased thus far 6 sets around the $80 range each (including tax and shipping) - 1 for me and 1 for each of my 5 nephews and nieces. The spectrum of sound that I hear through them is definitely greater/better than what I hear through my surround sound stereo system that I have connected to the xBox and certainly way greater/better than the regular sound that comes out of my tv which provides a more immersive enjoyable experience. HOWEVER, these things suck heavy juice such that I have to change into new AAA batteries about every 2 or 3 days, and that's only on about 9 to 12 hrs of use. Kids or others that use them more will be a bit frustrated when the box of batteries runs out rather fast unless rechargeable batteries are used, which I have plans to implement. The other shortcoming is that the sound periodically drops for about 3 or so seconds, then returns, when I am about 10 feet from the transmitter; when about 5 feet from the transmitter, I can't recollect ever experiencing a drop. Supposedly this is due to RF interference from other RF devices such as my router, cell phone and even TV. Less frequent, rare or no drops is more desirable. If these 2 issues weren't in the picture, I'd rate these a tier below excellent; excellent would be those headphones that produce pronouncely the faintest of sounds such as the light footsteps of an enemy so that I can trounce on him before he/she puts me down. :) I'm sure that I would get this experience/quality if I upgraded/pay more. Also needing mention is that these things press tight against the ear areas and I've experienced close to unbearable discomfort when eating with them on; I've heard this experience from at least 1 other person.

My wife is very sensitive to sound, so I got these to give her relief from my gaming. They were pretty simple to hook up and the sound and range are fine. My only complaints are the battery life (invest in rechargeables) and some continual, low level background static that could very well be from my old tv.

I picked this set up three months ago, and haven't had any issues since. I am an active online gamer and the chat and game volume has exceeded my standereds. The wireless feature and the brand sold me. Turtle beach makes excellent headsets and this one was on sale for $70. If you are on the fence about getting turtle beach or saving some cash and going with triton, or everglow, don't! It's been my experience to just spend a little extra to get a headset that has great quality.

Well first off the only negative i can say is the battery life, if you try to save money, you will be going through them daily to every other day. So go ahead and get the rechargeable batteries. The comfort was great doesn't get tiring to wear after hours and the sound well all i can say was after the first time i put them on i had to stop and take them off to look around behind me many times before i realized that the sound was coming from the headset. Yep that's how real they seemed. Worth the money and sounds great. I would buy them again. Now i can play the Xbox on my PC screen so that my wife does not kick me off the TV. Prefect day.

I love the wireless aspect, no wires means no kids or animals tripping over them. I even love the fact that you could listen to music or even TV through them. I just wish it didn't burn through the batteries as fast as it does or that there was a way to plug them in after use to recharge like the controllers can be done. I tried rechargeable batteries, but even those run down fast and it just seems that it would have a quick connect to the console or something to charge it.

The 1st pair of Turtle Beach 32's stopped working after 3 weeks. That is not a long time for an expensive headphone set! Best Buy exchanged immediately and we are currently experiencing no issues with the replacement pair. We hope these last longer than 3 weeks. They are very good headphones otherwise for listening and speaking quality. And comfortable to wear, too.

The connection to the WIFI transmitter can be done with the cable in the box. It is simple once you figure how to connect the Left and Right audio on your TV to the transmitter. Connecting the headset to the WIFI transmitter is simply just follow instructions. The headset is plugged into the X Box 360 remote control, this allows you to talk through your mic. In other words the remote and the mic work together. I got this headset for my grandson and he loves it. The only drawback to the set up is it uses batteries pretty fast.

Turtle Beach might not be what many gamers consider premium, but for an entry-level quality headphone/mic, it's excellent. The pricing doesn't make a huge dent in the wallet. The set up is a breeze and the sound fidelity and options make for an immersive experience. A downside is that the mic is sensitive and will pick up household sounds - also, the connection with the Xbox controller may be slightly loose, so you might run into an echo. But those are issues easily addressed with volume and mic placement.

Completely changes how you play video games. I use these for COD advanced warfare and they are awesome. You can hear all types of noise that you could never hear before. Oh yeah very easy setup as well. Took all of about 5 mins. Would recommend purchasing some rechargeable batteries with these.

Bought these for my son who informed me that he doesn't "do" Xbox 360 anymore and has moved on to the Xbox One. His loss, this Mommy Gamer has no issues playing with an old school console. They are comfy and produce amazing sound at this price point.

Alright so I am not going to lie, i am really not a fan of Turtle beach. Both of my sons seem to go through them quicker than i go through water. But this set has lasted more then 4 months. My only complaint is the battery life, and that i wished it had an auto off function that wasn't 30 minutes. Great headset for teens and adults, definitely not the headset for 15 and under.

I bought this headset for my son. They have worked great for him and he loves them. I originally thought they were completely wireless but they actually have a cord from the headset to the controller. My son has torn up many headsets by yanking the cord out of the headset but this cord plugs into the headset so it will come out if he yanks it. Have been great so far!
