Solid earbuds for gaming

For the past few months, I’ve been playing Call of Duty Mobile daily. I’ve gone through several different types of headphones trying to find the best option for mobile gaming. I want something that allows me to not only hear what’s going on in the game, but also be able to communicate clearly with my friends. With that in mind, I turned to these earbuds since they are not only wireless earbuds, but also because they are made for gaming.
I’ve been pretty impressed with them — especially considering their price point. They are reasonably priced in comparison to other ‘true wireless’ earbuds and they offer a lot in terms of listening experience. The earbuds are lightweight so they are easy to wear for longer periods of time. I’ve not found them to be uncomfortable in any way and they have stayed in my ears just fine. This is usually a problem for me simply based on how my ears are shaped.
The sound quality has been very good. I’ve been able to hear footsteps in my game so I know when someone is creeping up on me and the sounds of the guns have been similar to what I hear through other earbuds. I am hearing-impaired so finding a set of headphones that are easy for me to use and have a decent listening experience with can be difficult. I’m grateful that these earbuds have been reliable so far.
Their battery life has been solid. I haven’t timed exactly how long they last, but they will last an entire 8-hour day without needing to be charged. Their setup is simple enough, but I did find there was a little issue with the left earbud. If I put the right earbud in first, no sound would come through the left earbud until I put both back in the charging case and then put the left earbud in first. As long as the left earbud went in first, both earbuds connected fine.
I would get these again and would recommend them to other looking for good gaming earbuds.

Turtle Beach have always been a solid choice for gaming headphones.
Setup was not so easy with PC. I downloaded the audio hub software and all the drivers but it did not connect. I had to give up and I went to mobile phones.
Setup was super easy using Android phone
.. It Paired up right away. After I paired it, I updated firmware in about 5 mins.
Audio hub was nice to set sound settings and different simple controls.
I moved on and paired with my Nintendo switch without any issues and was immersed with audio delite with game play.
Fit is great. No issues with using these buds with game play. Nice stereo sound for both Left and Right channels. Sound is decent.
There is game mode to help reduce latency.
Case and charging was easy. Only con is that the buds are a little hard to get out of case. A little slippery and small to try and grab and pull out.
Single charge lasted whole day and case charged up buds right away.
I would recommend this product. Good job again Turtle Beach.

I’ve had a few Turtle Beach headphones through my time and I’ve never raved about them. They are all usually mediocre in sound quality and simple in design. These are no exception as they look similar to a different brand of headphones but are like the cheaper version. To set up, they are fairly simple, just be sure to take them out, remove all protective bits and reset them in their case, close the case, open and remove and they should be ready to pair like any other Bluetooth headset.
Off the bat they were easy to use and not bad in sound quality, but not great either. I had a lot of issues with keeping them in my ears though and most of the time the default middle works best for me. But, I had to go to the larger tips and they were a bit tedious to replace, but it helped a bit. I wouldn’t trust using them if I was still active and sweating like I did when I was younger as the way the long tip design is on them, it just felt like it was causing them to come loose. With them being loose I would need to try and adjust them and the single touch to hang up a call is a bit annoying. Would have been better if it was a long touch to end the call.
Some of the issues with sound preference and button commands can be adjusted once you get the Turtle Beach Audio Hub. With that you can use their preset sounds and equalizer and change some functions of the touch feature, but not that single touch. Also, the first time using it may require a firmware update as it did me.
As for the gamer mode, I really didn’t notice much of a difference with it on and off. I even tried to see if just maybe gamer mode would be the thing that would make it so I could use Bluetooth headphones with the Oculus Quest 2 and it wasn’t. They worked, but there was just too much delay to really use them for VR gaming. On my Samsung Note 10+ they worked fine in both modes.
Considering the headphones each have a microphone, you can use one at a time and swap them out to extend your actual listening time. However, those microphones are super sensitive and pick up every sound in the room. I probably should have tried them while riding a bike or something because I am pretty sure the wind would just destroy your attempt at talking.
Overall, just for sitting around, playing on my phone or laptop they have been fine. If I was an audiophile I would probably avoid Turtle Beach in general, but for general use they are decent for the price point. The fit wasn’t right for me, but my son says he finds them comfortable and the seal keeps a good passive barrier. So, that is really dependent on your ear fit. Getting the app makes a bit of difference and who knows, maybe another firmware update will make them even better.

I was so excited to get these Turtle Beach Ear pods for when im driving and cant answer my phone! These ear pods fit great in my ear and are extremely comfortable. They do not hurt my ear, they dont pull on the inside of my ear, and it barely feels like you have something there. They also come with extra silicon tips and a bigger size tip if you need the bigger one. The charging pod charges fast and they have a good life battery on them. I can use them all day from one charge. These ear pods do have a one touch answer and hang up and for other features you double or triple tap the flat oart on the ear pod. The instructions are clear and easy to read allowing you to learn how to use them, you just have to remember how many taps is for what feature. The sound is great and allows you to hear clear for calls and playing music. I love that it easily connects to my phone within seconds and that i can play all of my favorite music through them! Overall the sound quality is great, easy to use, extremely comfortable, and has a long lasting charge!

These definitely aren't worth 100 bucks. The sound quality isn't the greatest on the phone but on the pc its better if you use the spatial sound (windows sonic for headphones) if you don't use this the sound setting its unbearable atleast in my experience. Also the battery life is about 6 hours maybe 8 if you're lucky so catch these on sale if you can but there connectivity is pretty good though i can be down stairs and they will still pick up my phone and pc without cutting out so overall decent but definitely not worth 100 one more thing the touch sensitive stuff is cool but buggy at times

Great overall earbuds with built in mic. I use these for work instead of a headset. Calls are clear for me and clients, bu there isn’t background noise cancellation so clients can hear barking dogs, kids, etc. Battery life is acceptable, charging once a week on average, but they do not charge via usb consistently, better when plugged into the wall.

I bought these because I don't like how bulky traditional gaming headsets are. I've used earbuds in the past that performed really well, but they weren't Turtle Beach. I finally decided to get these and I like them, I like the way they fit, but for the life of me I cant get decent sound quality when playing warzone. I've adjusted the sound levels on my PC, the sound levels on battlenet, and the sound levels on Warzone. I adjusted them all at the same time, the realized that maybe I needed to adjust them independently. I say all of this to say that I tried everything I can to get it to sound decent enough to not ruin the game but I can't figure it out.
There's an Audio Hub App for these, but the app associated with these specific earbuds is only available on mobile.
I left a 3-stars review, but I understand that I may be missing something. These are Turtle Beach earbuds after-all, and I've never had an issue with Turtle Beach before. They really know gaming and so I'm hoping that I'm overlooking something.

Hey there Gannon,
Please take the time to reach out to our Support Team so they can provide assistance with your ear buds and look in to any inquiries you may have. They can also assist you in getting the headset set up with its mobile app, which provides an EQ and presets for your earbud. We'd highly suggest using that app alongside the headset as mentioned in its user guide.
The Turtle Beach Support Team can be contacted for assistance directly from the main Turtle Beach website as needed.
Thanks and have a great day!

I got these turtle beach headphones to try with my switch. They talk about being gaming ones, so I thought I would give them a try. Out of the box material is average for the price point, weight and size also good, the fit is secure. These fit better than more expensive ones I have. Sound wise, the others are better, but these do well. There is an app that has some presets in it for equalizers and their signature is the best balanced, but there are 3 others including voice boost, bass boost and bass and treble. Boost. I only found out about the app by going to the support page on this after registering the product, and was reading the book that is there, I didn't see it in the one provided. The small book does show you what the buttons do, and they are supposed to be customizable, but all I can see is both sides do the same other than one skips back and one skips forward. They do not control volume, that is a big annoyance if I were active and jogging or playing basketball, I'd have to stop, pull out my device and change the volume. That is an auto 1 star loss for me overall at this price. I have a set half of this cost and one a 1/3rd the cost that do that. The touch function is a bit non responsive, but fictional. Pairing these to my phone was a not that smooth either I have an s20 note ultra and It took opening the case 3 times before my phone found them and paired. The app once paired does show how much each but has charge left in its. I have not had a lot of time to test duration of battery life generally if I use them for 2 hours in a night at one stretch, I'm doing well. I paired them to my chromebook and desktop for fun, they did fine. On my phone, phone calls do ok answer and hang up with one touch, sound clear and the people on the otherside hear well. Now as for the switch function, which I thought these could do, they do only for sound, the mics do not work so you cannot use in games like fortnite to talk. I knew it was a recent update to the switch that you could Bluetooth headsets, and I knew it limted controllers to 2, but I only found out no chat until later looking at nintendo site and fine print in the online stuff for this. I did not know that by looking at the box, and on this website and others says switch compatable (but didnt mention no talk). They talk about clear chat function, but it was not clear that it is not with the switch. Confusing, and i was excited to see if these had gotten it to work, but no, they do not. I see on newer listing it says firmware update needed to work with the switch, it does not show you how to do this on anything it comes with, like I mentioned I only saw that there was an app on their site to do the update (turtle beach audio hub). As soon as I flipped app on, it updated, and my switch found the headphones right away. I did try to pair it before the update, and it was a no-go, you do need the update. So, I make this loose a star for not being clear on initial advertising that the clear chat and dual mics work for everything but the switch (they made it sound like they had a break through). So breakdown of overall specifics, 5 stars on fit and comfort, for me, these do good, 4 stars on sound, good but expected better for price of current listings, 3 stars on value, 3 stars on function control, limited abilities and bit insensitive, 4 stars on mic function, work on all things other than my switch, which is where I wanted to use them mainly, but they dont work, just like all others. The ad they have on youtube with the spokesperson who was playing basketball, it cut to him playing a switch like gamesystem again i feel a bit duped. Total score for me is 3 stars (would have given it 3.5 if i could). For me, I will use repurpose these for use with my car rear seat entertainment for one of my boys since the do secure in the ear fairly well, or they can use then to game on their switches while traveling if they don't need to talk.

The Turtle Beach - Scout Air True Wireless Earbuds work great for various platforms. It works with iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and Mac. The pairing process was simple and very easy. When I opened up the charging case I was able to hear a faint audible voice that said Bluetooth pairing. I went to the Bluetooth setting of my device, clicked on Scout Air, and within seconds I received an audible alert that said Bluetooth connected. The charging case has three led lights on the front of the case that light up when you open the case. The lights will give an estimate of the battery level. The case is a bit larger than I expected. It’s a lot larger than the case of my standard AirPods. It’s also larger than the case of my AirPods Pro. It’s about the same width as my AirPods Pro case, but it’s a lot thicker. The earbuds themselves sound good. They don’t has as much bass as my AirPods Pro, but they’re on par with the sound of my standard AirPods. The mids and highs are clear with good detail. Tapping on the side of either the left or right ear bud will pause whatever it is you’re listening to. Double tap and Triple tap is used for skipping forward or going back to previous tracks. The earbuds can be used independently of one another. You can have the right one in the case and use just the left, or you can have the left one in the case and use just the right earbud. The lid of the case closes too easily. If you’re taking the earbuds in and out of the case, the lid will close if it’s leaning slightly forward. I have to lean the case back to make sure the lid stays open. Overall, these are a good set of earbuds that work well.

I like the feel of these headphones, they sound pretty good, look nice, and quality is really nice without spending the bank. My only real complaint is the lack of bass, it does an okay job of mimicing the full range of music but these is no thump or true bass with these. They are very light and the battery life is great between the ear pieces and the charges in the case available. There was a small piece of plastic covering the charge heads on each ear bud which was not documented in the notes or instructions. You have to remove this and then charge the ear buds but the case itself had a charge at least for me. That seems a little backwards. Updating the firmware was pretty easy once I downloaded the software but I did not have instructions in my package telling me to download the software or what systems it would work with. It was really trial and error, no real errors, but definately only worked certain ways. The firmware update for me with a very fast connection still took about 20 minutes. During that time I had to keep the ear buds in the case and make sure the case stayed open. It did not tell me what would happen if it failed or I accidently let the case close. I would plan your upgrades and updates very carefully making sure everything is charged and that you can hold it open for at least 20 to 30 minutes. So if you need ear buds for mobile gaming on your phone or you need a light footprint that does not take much space or weight then these are a great choice. They were very comfortable and did a good job without ANC of blocking ambient noises with normal volume levels. They are very nice but should know what you are getting before purchasing.

Thank you for leaving your feedback; however, there is no mention of these earbuds functioning on the Xbox or PlayStation gaming consoles. The Scout Airs were designed for use with iOS and Android devices. The earbuds are also capable of working with Nintendo Switches, Windows PCs, and Macs as mentioned within the product description.
With that being said, we'd suggest taking the time to reach out to our Support Team if you are having any sort of difficulty with the headset's microphone functioning properly with the devices it is designated as compatible with. Our dedicated Support Team is always happy to help as needed, and they can be reached right from the support section of the Turtle Beach website.
