I bought my new Stream mic a few months ago and it is awesome. It worksd great and has many settings to give it the best sound. I would suggest getting a pop filter but it works great.

The Turtle Beach Stream Mic looks like a professional grade microphone. However, when you pull it out of the box, the microphone feels extremely light and cheap. The nice thing though, it includes a boom adapter and a weighted stand that does a great job at holding it steady. Though this Stream Mic is better than a standard headset microphone in clarity, I wasn't overly thrilled with it. Straight out of the box, hooking it up to a Windows 10 PC it was recognized and after selecting it as my microphone device it worked as intended. I then joined some chat with friends and the first thing they mentioned was that they heard a lot background noise and I sounded very distance. I tried going through the different Adaptive Mic Patterns and changed the sensitivity from high to low and the only thing they noticed is that I was now quieter. As for the background noise, you could hear my computer fans even through the microphone is nowhere near it and as for distance, though it was picking up my voice, the sweet spot seems to be within arms reach on high sensitivity while it needs to be near your face, like on a boom, in low. While I had it on the PC I decided to check out the Turtle Beach Audio Hub, which has a slight mention on the box for “additional Polar Patterns” and in the small manual about additional settings and firmware updates. Once installed you have to switch the microphone from PS4/PC to Xbox, which I found odd. You then may need to download drivers, which the link is provided at the bottom right corner of the application. Once loaded you find additional settings. Voice EQ, which has Natural Voice, Deep Voice, Deep and Bright Voice and Mid-Range Voice where each of these have a slight change to high/mid/low levels of input. There is also Mic Monitor Level and Mic Record Level. There are two optional polar patterns, Extreme Hyper-Cardioid or Super Cardioid. Once you select either of them, a new color, white, shows up on the ring on the front of the microphone. This now becomes a fifth option when you cycle through the patterns when pressing the button on the back. This setting did reduce a good bit of the fan noise that it was picking up in the first place, however it was not until I discovered the Automatic Noise Gate setting through this application that made it so much better. This option essentially removed all of the background noises when I wasn't talking. It didn't pick up my key clicking, like I had before and especially did not keep the sound of my computer fan running. There were times though that it sounded like it cut a word short here and there. A couple more options in the application include Clip Indicator, which turns the ring red if you get so loud that it clips the audio, and LED Blackout Mode, which turns the light ring off on the front. You can also updated the firmware, which mine was on the latest, see additional information and enable Live Test Mode, which is essential when testing the features as the PC does not see the microphone while it is in Xbox mode. Hooking it up to my Xbox One was recognized as a headset. It picked up audio just as it did on the PC, however, now that I used the PC to make the necessary changes it didn't pick up all of the noise like it did to start with. The problem I had at first though was that the Xbox treats this completely like a headset, so that meant it was sending chat audio to the headset and I wasn't hearing the party till I plugged in headphones. Then I realized I could hear myself, instantly, so it wasn't causing me to stutter from hearing myself delayed, but it was loud. This is where having the PC application came back into play and the Mic Monitor Level had to be reduced. The nice thing though, the changes are applied to the microphone, so they remain when switched between devices. This also allowed for game audio you be passed through to the headset. Plus, since the USB cord is 10 ft long it basically allowed me to use my wired headphones to my Xbox instead of through the controller. Though I have a PS4, I don't use it often and would assume that it would work the same as it did on the Xbox. The biggest issue with this microphone is that you have to have a PC if you want to get the best out of it. Just the ability to change the Mic Monitor Level and the Noise Gate literally changed my review from a 2 star to a 4 star. The fact that it is sensitive is great if you wanted to catch every sound in the room. However, for streaming or chat, you really don't need to hear the PC fans and keyboard clicking as it is a distraction. You also don't need to hear yourself louder than the other party members. As for the various Adaptive Mic Patterns, they do have slight variation, but even recording and switching between them, they weren't that noticeable. For a external started microphone that has a proffesional appearance, this one isn't bad, so long as you find your settings through a PC.

The Turtle Beach Stream MIc is very easy to set up and it sounds great. It is universally compatible with most devices via a USB cord. I use it a lot on my XBox One and it works perfectly; not all mics work with Xbox, it must be compatible. It focuses on your voice so it works well in noisy rooms. My fellow gamers can hear me loud and clear. Assembly is relatively easy and it offers the option for a stand-alone on a desktop mount or installs on a boom clamp holder arm with the provided adaptor. I find it very useful the feature to connect your headphones to the mic which makes it very simple so that your hand does tangle with your headphones. It is compact and lightweight which makes it easy to move it from one place to another. Very important, make sure the mic has the latest firmware and use the app designed for the Turtle Beach mic. Its digital voice processing tools give you a ton of options to play without the need to buy outside software or hardware (e.g. like a capture card). Properly setting up this mic you will get close to professional sounding product, you will sound like a pro. The Stream Mic works on a variety of room environment and uses. Simply press the button on the mic to switch from different modes/patterns. The LED color light on the mic indicates the selected mode. The main mode is green which is the cardioid mode, it captures the sound on the front of the mic. Each mode has a customisable mic pattern and sensitivity setting. It comes with 4 modes, (Cardioid, Bi-Directional, Hypercardiod, and Omnidirectional) and with the option to install more patterns. In conclusion, this is the perfect all-in-one solution for live-streaming video games and recording voice. My son and I love this mic.

With the advent of online gaming, technology and electronic devices took an interesting turn. At first, gaming was limited to the system you were playing on and its controller. Now there are a wide variety of products you can use to make your gaming experience customized and functional for you. One of the essential parts of a gaming setup these days is a microphone. You can easily connect with others online unless you can talk with them. So, you need a microphone. Many people use a headset with a built-in microphone but gamers who are heavy into live streaming take that piece of their gaming puzzle the next level with an external mic. This small but powerful microphone from Turtle Beach is perfect just this type of task. User Experience The microphone and its stand come disassembled inside a nicely designed box. A picture of the product is shown on the exterior of the box along with basic details of the device. When you unpackage the contents, you will find the main microphone and the parts to its stand. An extra long Mini USB cable is provided and so is a quick reference guide. In addition to the standard desktop stand, the Stream Mic also comes with a Mic Book Adapter in case you want to attach it to a boom arm. The microphone itself is very lightweight, but the stand is well-weighted and has silicone feet on its base to prevent the microphone from moving unnecessarily. Getting started with the Stream Mic was very easy. Turtle Beach designed this microphone so it could be easily used on many platforms so all I had to do was plug in a USB cable. For me, this also requires the use of a USB-C adapter since I was using my 2016 MacBook Pro for testing. As with most external audio sources, I had to visit my System Preferences in order to activate the Stream Mic as my external input audio source. Once I did, I was able to adjust the input volume on the mic from the System Preferences panel and then I could start using it. There is a Console Mode switch on the back of the microphone. You need to make sure it’s set to the correct mode before it will work with your system. I do love the design of this microphone. It has a very retro/classic radio microphone feel to it and it has an adjustable tilt when it’s mounted. If you are using the mic with an Xbox, you will flip the switch to the left. If you are using it with anything else, you will flip the switch to the right. With it sitting so low on my desk, I wondered how well it would record my voice if I were sitting naturally in my desk chair. So, I did a test recording of myself reading Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. I read excerpts of the book various distances away from the microphone (6 inches, 12 inches, and approximately 4 feet). I tried my best to keep my voice at a steady, even level and just adjust my personal distance away from the microphone. I felt like the Stream Mic did a very good job filtering out background noise (air handling was on in my office at the time of recording) and keeping my voice at a balanced volume. You can hear a difference between 6 inches and 4 feet, but I am still audible from 4 feet away. It is important to note that when I was testing this out, I was in a fairly isolated environment with only some air handling noise in the background. Other noises, like keyboard clicks, might be picked up by the mic. Conclusions While I didn’t specifically use this for live streaming, I find it to be a very nice, lightweight microphone. It’s small enough to transport easily from place to place and it has a fool-proof setup method. I love that it has a mute button on the front and that it has a colored LED indicator that lights up green (if in use) or red (if muted). This is a very easy to use microphone that is competitively priced with other USB microphones. Because it’s made by Turtle Beach it’s been optimized to work specifically for gamers, but it can be used for a wide-variety of tasks. I am a big fan of this little microphone and plan on giving it a permanent spot in my minimalist desk setup.

Turtle Beach Mic is an excellent option for PC and gaming consoles. I was able to assemble less than 5 mins with the insturctions given the box. The look and feel is good and it is heavy to stand on table without falling down. I have connected this to my gaming PC and it recognized immediately. I have tested with voice recorder and recording quality is crisp and clear. This mic is very handy for skype meetings, video chats etc. It has universal plug and play compatibility for all type of devices. It is perfect fit for recording livestream commentary, vocals, podcasts, voiceovers and interviews. It comes with multiple mounting options and it can be adjusted to fit user needs. It's studio-grade digital processing balances EQ, gain and compression to deliver superior voice performance so anyone can stream like a pro. I would definitely recommend Turtle Beach mic to anyone who are looking for a mic for recording, chats, live streaming etc.

    Good mic for streaming

The Turtle Beach Stream Mic is a decent starter mic that won't break the bank. It is made of mostly plastic, making it feel a little cheap; and even with the various settings changes that you can make, the sound seemed a little hollow to me. The upside is that you can plug in a pair of headphones through its headphone jack and you can hear what's going on in your live stream with no delay. I can't speak properly when I hear myself on a delay, so this is a big plus for me. Some of the advanced settings are a bit awkward to use, because you have to download an app to use them. The documentation that comes with the mic isn't very clear on that, so I had to do some research of my own to figure that out. If you just want to have some fun live streaming or doing voice overs, this mic will be fine. For more professional results, you may want to try something else.

As an avid gamer, I was excited to get a streaming Mic to test. Turtle Beach has made a name for themselves as one of the top (my opinion the top) gaming headset brands. They make products for the average player and the pro MLG player alike. This Mic is probably geared toward the more seasoned player but anyone can become a streamer these days. Most novice will just use the mic on the headset whiling streaming and if it is just commentary and no video, this is fine. However, with the simple addition of the TB mic during a live stream (or postproduction) you will step up your presentation and sound quality tremendously. The mic has a few features that will change dynamic ranges it receives and transmits (the outside color of the mic will change too to indicate which setting you are currently using). This is a pretty cool feature, especially when you have a few friends over and all are included in the recording. The mic does require mild assembly but it is simple and then the mic is very easy to plug and play. From open to first use was less than 5 minutes. Again, I have just been thoroughly impressed and feel like a pro using this mic.

The Turtle Beach Stream Mic is a fun & exciting way to enhance your voice over any streaming platform. I connected it to the latest Mac Pro & tested it on X-Box. To begin, download the Turtle Beach Audio Hub free app (see photo). This enables "Announcer Voice" (configurable reverb), eq, mic monitor, auto noise gate eliminator and many more parameters. It is hard to believe the amazing effects achieved through this app. You can sound very deep, mid range, extra deep & crisp, for starters. The level of reverb is awesome! This is my favorite effect. Noise gate completely eliminates the floor noise. Unbelievable! No more hiss. Microphone construction is superb. Metal grille, heavy weighted base, metal yoke supporting the mic, infinitely adjustable angle & tension holding the mic position. It looks expensive & is built to survive real world gamer, blogger & DJ use. Sound quality is very good. Sound effects and the ability to differentiate your voice & to elevate you above the crowd of streamers is it's strong suit. Become an Instant DJ with this microphone & app! The Turtle Beach Stream Mic has become my favorite go-to microphone for blogs & earns my highest recommendation!

So far this mic has been better than i had expected. I captures sound in 4 different modes, and is easy on the eyes. The solid build of the mic also provides a very stable base so there is minimal thought of it tipping over or breaking. The base was one thing initially intrigued me with this item, its heavy, but doesnt take up too much room. The mic it self glows a different color depending on what type of sound capturing setting it is set to, which makes it VERY easy to know what quality of sound to expect when speaking in to. All in all, this brand is hard to compete with and this item is prove of its reputation!

I think the quality is pretty good, I stream and make videos on YouTube and it's very clear and an affordable option (Buy it on sale ;) The only reason I gave it 4 starts is because the Turtle Beach Mic program from their website somehow wouldn't work properly and corrupted my mic when I tried a driver update (and their "support" wouldn't get back to me) so I had to return it and buy a new one. DON'T USE THE TURTLE BEACH DRIVERS. They will half install and then make your Mic unrecognizable at all, tried on multiple PC's, it corrupted the microphone itself. Otherwise, a fantastic product

    Decent Mic for Streaming

I got this mic for a beginner stream setup. I believe I chose this over the Snowball Mics is because it has a smaller profile on my desk, than the Snowball would've had. Also I think the Snowballs are kind of ugly, no offense to Snowball or any who own it. Also just to try something different because people swear by those mics, which is totally fine with me, but I personally like to try different things. The software is super easy to use, but doesn't give you a whole lot of customization. There is some though, like a noise gate, options to change voice profile. I've only tried the streaming mode, so I have no input about the quality of the other modes. As for the quality of the mic itself with my voice, the quality is DECENT. By no means am I a mic expert, this is my first streaming mic, but when i compare it to other streamers mics, there is a noticeable difference in sound quality. NOT TO FEAR, when this mic is paired with Voicemeeter/Voicemeeter Banana (An advanced audio manager), or probably any audio/mic program that allows you to add filters and such on the mic, it gives this mic's quality a huge boost. It really helps. OBS and other streaming programs have options for filters, but I found Voicemeeter's filters sound better. BE CAREFUL not to stack filters on different programs, such as, using the Turtle Beach Software's on board noise gate, and then use a noise gate on OBS, it wont sound good. Overall: I would recommend this mic if you're looking for something low profile, on a budget.

I bought this mic so that I would not have to keep my headset in when talking to friends over PSN. I am really impressed by the weight they put into this thing... I feel like you could easily find one of these on a desk of radio talk show host. Pure quality! I love the options to change up the input and environment settings and the overall look is a thumbs up from me.

I'm fairly new to streaming games and heard his particular microphone was a pretty good deal, so I checked it out. I went in expecting better audio quality considering the price, but found that my audio was only slightly better than my headset mic. However, it's extremely easy to just pick up and record and comes with a variety of settings that allow me to record just myself in a quiet room to an entire group in a rather loud room. Overall, i'm pretty satisfied

I bought this mic to improve my stream quality. I was able to get Best Buy to price march, so it was pretty close to half off. Sound quality is solid. You need to update and tinker with the settings to get them to your preference. So far, no issues at all. My voice comes over the stream nice a clear. This is a good starting mic for causal streamers or even mid level streamers as well. I would recommend getting a table mic stand or an arm mic holder.
