I have always tried to take care of my devices as much as possible, I usually protect with case and screen protector devices like my iPad or iPhone. I have used other cases from UAG and it has been a pleasant experience. This new iPad pro 11" M4 case has just about everything I need to keep my iPad protected although there are a couple of areas where it could use some improvement. In the box is just the case ready to use. Installation of the case is simple as it is made of a flexible material that completely covers the edges of the ipad. The case is one piece and cannot be disassembled. It has a holder for the Apple Pencil, which is quite useful. The case is a folio type and can be placed at different viewing angles. The case actually works well, fully protects the iPad, is easy to use and has a pretty good finish. The seams, the material, the design, I consider that they are very well, in this section it fulfills what is necessary. There are a couple of things that do not convince me and is that using the iPad with one hand completely folding the case is not very comfortable. The other issue is that the auto sleep/wake function rarely works, although it is not the end of the world, I consider it something essential to what many users are used to, I do not know if it's the magnets or the design, but I wish it worked all the time. In short, this case is fine although it doesn't quite fulfill the basic functions. It covers the iPad very well from drops and bumps, has different viewing angles, is made of a sturdy material, unfortunately the auto sleep/wake function needs improvement. If the above is not important to you, this case, with a small discount, would be an option to consider, although for the same price you can buy something similar or with more features on the market. I'm not too sure if I would recommend it, perhaps in specific situations.

Case is durable and well built. Fits snug on my iPad Pro 11inch m4. The only thing bad about this case is the false advertisement, this case does not have wake to sleep function, doesn’t work at all.

I recently purchased a new 11” iPad Pro M4 2024 version and unfortunately my old case from my previous iPad Pro didn’t fit. So begins the search for a new case. The challenge I had was to find one that not only would fit my new iPad Pro but would also give me the features and functionality that I wanted as well. I wanted one that both would act as a stable stand on a flat surface and on my lap and would provide good protection. I found the UAG Metropolis SE. UAG has got all the goodies I was looking for! Rugged looks with sturdy rubber material to protect my iPad from falls and bumps while transporting it. The look has a bit of an industrial or military vibe with pho torque screws on the outside. The corners have extra large bumpers for added drop protection. The fit for my iPad is precise and snug with an excellent protective shell. The Metropolis case allows easy use of all of the buttons and the camera lens. The UAG has a magnetic flap that keeps the case closed when not in use and the wake and sleep feature works like a charm! The stand has five grooves for the different viewing angles for your iPad. This is great to help reduce reflections. The Apple Pencil holder is a great extra that is not always found on other cases. The only small criticism I would offer, is that the magnetic flap when the case is open on my lap does not have a place to store it. Overall, I think that UAG has hit this one out of the park. The Metropolis SE is a quality case that is just what I was looking for and think it is worthy of consideration when looking for a new case for the new iPad pro!

I don’t like using a case on my iPad, especially big and bulky ones that add a lot of weight and thickness but sometimes it’s a necessity. The UAG Metropolis is a nice compromise for me as it gives you good protection when needed, but doesn’t add a lot of bulk. When I’m at home I generally don’t use a case, but when traveling it’s a must for me. The Metropolis has a nice feel with its flexible rubberized part that the iPad is contained in and a nice texturized cover/kickstand. When closed the cover is secured with a magnetic clasp, I just wish it did the same when the cover was open and folded behind it. The case gives you the ability to use it at different angles with the adjustable kickstand. This is nice and works well when the device is sitting on a solid surface like a table, but isn’t great if using it on your lap. The biggest reason is the cover part the is the kickstand is attached (circled in red on my pic) in a way that will allow it to wobble on soft surfaces. This is partly because of how thin it is, so I guess that’s a trade off. The case is nice looking and gives good protection, but has some compromises. It would have been nice if the cover/kickstand part was detachable from the main part of the case, but this would have probably added more bulk.

Ive had a lot of cases through my time of swapping between the smaller and larger versions of the iPad Pro every generation since the 2018s came out. This time around (M4 2024) it was no different I got both the 11” and the 13” model iPads and a bunch of cases to try out with them. My ultimate sweet spot ended up being this UAG case on my silver 11” pro model. I love that apple made the device thinner and lighter this generation so this case could follow suit and also feel thinner and lighter as normally if you want good protection it comes at the cost of heft and bulk. This is not the case (pun intended) this time around it feels excellent in hand. This case having all the right cutout ports and all the right buttons in the right places is a wonderful combination of perfect all in one. The inside of the screen flap is nice micro suede like material that protects the new oled display from harm. The magnets are placed perfectly to allow not only to store the new pencil pro under a flap securely while in motion but also to set the case up into a stand configuration in multiple angles how you want to be using it. They are also in the right locations for the standard of auto sleep and wake which is great. Im really glad to swap from my older M2 iPad Pro 12.9 down to this new m4 iPad Pro 11” as its size and portability overall is much better along with the screen and the one thing I didnt want to have is a bulky case on a smaller device to defeat the entire purpose. That is not this as its very slimline and not a tank bulky case which is exactly what I was looking for, keeps the pencil pro safely attached and goes into the right angles from hand holding, setting on my nightstand to watch media at night to drawing I really love this case and setup I have no gripes with it at all.

    Tough and functional

I’ve had many iPad cases in the past and they were all visually appealing. And they protected my iPad, but not as well as this case does. The corners are well rounded and super protective of the entire case, making it shatterproof from all angles. The rivets in the bottom and top are actually very well for gripping the case and not having any worries of it, slipping out of your hand. The latch that goes over the top is very magnetic. You get the latch a little close to closing and it snatches close so you feel comfortable that the top won’t open and the screen of your iPad will be exposed because it won’t. The inside of the case has a soft velvet, feel as to protect it from scratching the actual iPad. Overall, this is a really nice case it protects your iPad and it is very functional. I would choose this case over the pretty ones every time. Only thing I’m not a fan of is carrying a pin isn’t as easy as it is on other cases where it has the pin loop for you to slide it in And Carry.

Solid protective case for your 11" M4 iPad Pro

The UAG Metropolis case for the M4 11" iPad pro is well built, very protective, and a good value. I've used it on my iPad for a few weeks now and have been very happy with the experience. First off, this will ONLY fit the new M4 version of the iPad pro. It does not fit the older 11" ipad pro- it's not even close. The new version is much thinner than the previous version and the other dimensions change as well. You can't sqeeze anything but the M4 ipad in here. I own a new M4 version and the older version, so I tried both. Don't buy it unless you have the M4 version. The case itself is nice. It's is very well built with protective bumpers on all four corners. The case closes and a magnetic latch folds over to hold the cover in place. The magnet is pretty strong and the case never comes open accidentally. When you release the latch, the cover opens and the iPad turns on. There is also a space on the side of the case of carrying your apple pencil securely. It is supposed to allow for charging of the pencil against the iPad when in place. I found this worked about 90% of the time. Other times, it didn't connect. I'm not sure if it was how I put the pencil in the slot or just a problem with the case, but I occassionally walked away thinking my pencil was charging only to find out it wasn't. The case opens up and the cover can be folded back behind the case out of the way or used as a base for watching the ipad in landscape mode. There are notches in the inside cover where you can position the case at various set angles for watching movies, reading recipes (my favorite), or other activities. The notches in the cover plus the weight of the iPad means there is very little movement of the ipad in this mode. Why the deduction of one star? First, the issue with the pencil charging was annoying. If I was careful to place the pencil in the holder, wait for the iPad to recognize it, and then walk away, things were fine. If I just snapped the pencil in without verifying the charging had started, it only worked occassionally. Like I said, this may be user error or a feature of the case. Secondly, and this is a nit, there is a triangular piece of the case that connects the cover to the main body. This is where it folds so the cover can be folded back completely or put into landscape mode using the cover as the base. I found this triangular piece to be very wobbly. I once dropped the ipad, caught it by the cover, and prevented disaster. That weak piece between the cover and the case worried me though. I also wish the case came in ANY other color but black. I little my iPads to stand out. Finally, there was the price. It's a very well built protective case. No doubt about that. Is it worth the high price when there are so many other cheaper options? I think so, but others may disagree.

    Protection without the bulk

The UAG Metropolis SE Case for the new 5th generation iPad is a perfect mix of rugged protection without the heavy, bulky, clunkiness of other cases. Don't let it surprise you - when you take it out of the box, it feels kind of flimsy. It definitely is not once you install it on your iPad. The feel of the Metropolis SE case is feels very premium. Apple slimmed this version of the iPad down slightly to make it lighter and the case fits snuggly on the 5th generation iPad. There is also a spot for an Apple Pencil if you have one. The Metropolis case has precise cutouts for the buttons - and, more importantly for me - the USB-C cut out is big enough to handle the USB-C cable I use to also charge my MacBook (it is a bit fatter/wider than an average USB-C cable). One of the things I love most about all UAG products - they are really easy to clean. Since my iPad is with me almost everywhere I go, the case can get scuffed up and dirty quickly. The materials this case is made out of have held up very well and can be wiped easily with a wet wipe. I would highly recommend the Metropolis SE Case!

    UAG vs Fintie

The iPad Pro 11” 2024 case would have received 5 stars if it wasn’t for the awkward magnetic closure tab and the instability of holding it in profile position. Pros are its great in landscape mode, magnetic grooves are strong and it’s slim design closed and in landscape mode are all good. It’s made very well but in comparison to other comparable iPad cases, at $70 it’s overpriced. I have ordered the Fintie iPad Pro 11” 2024 compatible case in leather for under $16. It turned 360 degrees, has auto on/off like the UAG and is very solid. I know this because a relative has had the Fintie for his iPad Gen 10 for a long time. It’s being delivered today. If I find otherwise, I’ll update my review. I’m a bit picky about electronics & associated products.

The corners of the case seem well protected. The case itself is rather slick and the lock button is difficult to press due to the strange raised cut out shape. This case does NOT support auto sleep/wake when you open or close the cover - something I expected for the higher price point.
