Good sound. Small . Good coverage without external antenna. Programming requires a computer or extensive knowledge of tracking, trunking and codes. I took mine to a friend that is very computer savvy. Bought a subscription for 6 months for 10$ and he did the program and tweaking in less than an hour.

I've been out of the scanner game for a while... I have had to research trunking to get some of my local trunked systems in... The manual is a bit difficult to follow for this. Outside of trunking, this is a solid scanner.

This unit I didn't really find to be that user friendly it took some time trying to figure out the programming without have the GPS accessory that is does not come with it.. had to download a programming software and subscribe to a frequency database to get the required frequency programming that I wanted

Absolutely love this scanner! It is a great scanner and easy to use for home use and or in a vehicle! There is a few ways to program it which is great.

This scanner has the Uniden quality that I have been accustomed to for many years. Unfortunately, this scanner is far too complicated for me to use. I expected an "out of the box" experience where I could simply plug in the scanner and start scanning. I was disappointed that it took so many actions to get any noise out of the unit at all. I finally returned the scanner, after several unsuccessful attempts to get it to work.

This scanner was very easy to program. The sound is clear. We highly recommend this unit.

Bought this online here from Best Buy, very fast shipping. I upgraded to this scanner from the Uniden BCT15X as I wanted to be able to receive digital transmissions. This scanner does it real well reception for me even just with the little whip antenna it comes with and I live in a rural area. It is typical Uniden quality built real well and should last for years to come. What prevents me from giving this scanner 5 stars is the software needed and used to connect the scanner to your computer with the USB cable that is supplied is you have to install a driver for the cable. It is not plug and play on windows 7 or 8 and the driver you have to download does not have an installer so you have to go into device manager and manually install the driver. You will need to connect this scanner to the computer to program it from one of several programs that are available out there. Then the other thing that is a big problem for me is to upgrade the firmware or install the optional upgrades available for this scanner you need to download a software app from Uniden that will let you download the upgrades and then is supposed to install them in your scanner. Uniden has released several free firmware upgrades with some good features since my scanner was sent to Best Buy with some nice features to add to the scanner. Problem is the software does not work if you have either Hughesnet or Dishnet high speed internet. It seem this software needs an FTP connection to do the download and install upgrades/updates. It seems Hughes and Dishnet block FTP access. So you can not update or upgrade if you have either of these IP's. The IP's will tell you it is a software problem and Uniden will tell you it's an IP problem so neither will help you address you the paying customer to resolve the problem. Uniden will tell you to go find a wifi site or friend/family that will connect with FTP, which for me is pretty much undoable.
