Best Radar Detector, the only disadvantage is that picks up other false alarm, but once you learn the sounds it is fine. Best detect long range so you have plenty of time to reduce speed. I did not like that is too bulky, but for the performance, I guess it required to be big.

Great detector with lots of features. Still need to fine tune the settings, but just made the trip from Ohio to Myrtle Beach and it saved me several times with plenty of notice.

R7 may just be the best radar detector that I have ever owned. I've owned the Escort Passport 9500iX (of which I loved at the time), I've owned the Uniden R3 (super long range) and now the R7. I can say that I do not know how I lived this long without the arrows? That is such a cool feature! I have the R3 in the wife's car and when it goes off, I find myself looking for the arrows (of which are missing) to see which direction the radar is coming from. Now I'm spoiled with the R7. Simply the best I've ever owned. Rad picks up signal a long long ways away. Just get it!

This will pay for itself the first month of using it, the detection range is very good, especially on the back roads. You'd be surprised on where it picks up a signal. the settings my be a bit too technical but after a youtube video you can really tone it in to what to ignore or what to focus on.

Gifted it to a friend and he loves it! It’s able to detect miles ahead and has saved him lots of times. Great product and easy to customize to your liking. Software is easy to use aswell

Saved me from over $800 in tickets on long road trip to Texas. Very comprehensive set of indicators, warnings and customization options. The price is high, but worth the bill.

the HIGHWAY RANGE ON ka BAND IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, still LEARNING THE DEVICE AND k BAND FALSE ALARMS ARE CURRENTLY HIGH, BUT THE DEVICE IS TOP OF THE LINE

This thing has incredible range! I have an Escort 360 and this Uniden is better except that it is quite chatty with the false signals

Pros: - Disabling X and K band (to limit random blindspot monitoring detections) boosts signal identification speed significantly. - Segmenting the Ka band for your specific state also boosts your detection range to ridiculous values (miles from the officer). - Multiple mounts to help with the perfect detector placement - Arrows in conjunction with the strength gauge help to quickly orient driver to the radar location - Customizable tones for all different bands, great addition Cons: - Power cable is the coiled, springy type. If you're trying to do an invisible install, you'll have the stretch the cable out so it's smooth and straight (as opposed to a slinky) before you stuff it into your headliner and door sill weather stripping for that hidden cable look. Very minor con. Note: Be sure to google around for some setup tutorials - there's one in particular that you should read and follow immediately after you get the detector. After setting my settings similar to his, the detector was near perfect; it takes all the guesswork and experimentation out of a new detector. On the site there is also a breakdown of which Ka bands you should have enabled in your state - definitely follow this, as the less bands you have active, the better your detector will work!

Superior and probably the best radar for how much it’s priced (compared to other similar priced radars). Just need to configure the settings so you won’t get many false alerts.

I reviewed this R7 for a few days online and after I bought it and used it for a trip to Michigan, all I can say is Wow! This is one of the best on the market! Main reasons, easy to hook up and use, good filters and mute capabilities and more importantly, its ability to pickup radar in advance. Unbelievable range and get this, it has arrows to let you know direction on where the radar is coming from. Great way to let you know the direction of those Smokey’s!

Really good radar. I wish it was better at picking up laser guns but that's about the only Con it has in my opinion. I was between this and the Valentine one ver 2 and went with this since its plug and play with its own GPS. Has definitely saved me so many times, so it has payed itself off already.

pays for itself by keeping you out of handcuffs for wreckless driving! Buy it, its well worth the money. I had the other brand (V1) and i like this one better due to the fact that the screen is prettier. I like the arrows and you can customize colors etc. i like how it has a gps so you can tell it not to ring if you drive past a known store that has sensors that sets it off. Happy with purchase

With the arrows and sensitivity of the R3, the R7 gives extra situation awareness. I always use it on long road trips and has been reliable at detecting the signals.
