For not technical people, this is the remote control you need. Magnolia included this with my new TV and sound system. I stressed the need to simple operation to the Magnolia team. This remote took about 2 minutes to learn. OK, it took a few days to figure out how to page back on Netflicks or Amazon TV, but otherwise it is so simple. We used to have 4 remotes laying on the coffee table. Now, we have one, high quality, easy to use remote.

Did not want any type of wifi remote or rechargeable battery remote. Wanted a nice but dumb remote. It does the job replacing an AEROS URC remote. I read the programmer remote horror stories but have to say the gentleman from Corcord Mall Best BUY Wilmington DE store was a PRO. Awesome job! It took longer than normal to program, but said "I want to make sure everything was right." Do people still say that? PROs do. He was great and worth the programming fee.

The idea was great but for the money we expected to be happier with it. It was awkward to handle it. Too many buttons to hunt for. Inconsistent commands were required to go back or exit different providers- Netflix, Prime, Fios. . . It was very aggravating. Ended up going with Savant/ Sonos.

Remote is quite comprehensive. Takes a little time to learn all the buttons but works great once you get used to it.

Nice to have one remote to handle all the changes you do with music or movies or watching a CD.

I got this remote a few days ago for a Home Theater room I setup a while back that was using a Harmony remote to control it. All I can say is Awesome the difference is night and day compared to a Logitech Harmony Remote due to the customization capability and actually being able to control my 2nd zone. its a bit hard to setup and I would recommend getting a professional to set it up for you but it is a world of difference and is worth the few dollars extra. Dont get me wrong I still use harmony remotes for my bedrooms but for the main room MX-780 all the way you wont regret it

This remote has to be programmed by professionals. It does not allow for home programming or changes. If you want something changed you will have to call the geek squad to reprogram. It's clunky. The buttons are not laid out well. It's not rechargeable. It has one positive: it is very responsive and turns everything on and off without fail. I returned it and got the Harmony 900. The Harmony 900 is programmable on your computer via an easy set up link. It allows for many tweaks and changes. It's also rechargeable. I would say if you are a total beginner, use the MX-780. If you have any desire to change your equipment around or program yourself , get the Harmony 900.

Proprietary software - I had a problem with this remote and the only way to program is having a technician come do a factory reset and reprogram. The company does not let you have access to their proprietary software. We are under shelter in place order and no one can come to the house to do this. I am SOL. There are other remotes out there that do the same functions and let you reprogram yourself.
