About The Vankyo Performance V700 Pro is a 1080P LED Projector designed for projection between 4 and 20 feet. It has built-in apps and multiple inputs for video sources. There are two speakers in the projector for audio or you may use the external audio connection options. Pros & Cons The Good: • Clear Picture with 40” to 200” screen size • Lots of adjustable picture settings • On-board audio • Settings for various projection methods • Inputs for HDMI and USB • External Audio Connectivity • Remote Control The Bad: • Installed Apps are terrible • Speakers are just okay. Tinted sound with not a lot of bass. • Awkward Power strip • No mounting screws • Instructions were rough, incomplete What It Comes With • The roughly 5 lbs projector • Power Cord (2 pieces) • HDMI cable • Remote (no batteries) • User Manual • Quick Start Guide • Does NOT come with mounting screws Setup The setup was not quite as easy as I had hoped, but once you got the idea it wasn’t bad overall. Instructions – These were vague, leaving out most of the information about the actual settings for the projector. A page or two about each video setting would have helped. In both the User Manual and the Quick Start Guide, they were geared toward screen mirroring and Home Share, which I wasn’t planning to use. Assembly – The hardest part of the setup was trying to figure out where I could place the projector so that it would project where I needed it to. I used a front desktop placement so I didn’t have to mount it from the ceiling. You can choose from front and rear desktop or front and rear ceiling. As a heads up, it does not come with the screws to do the ceiling mount. If you want to mount it from the ceiling you will need to buy four M5 screws and the mount. It’s mostly just plugging in the power cord and turning it on unless you attach an external device. If you use the inputs, there are two HDMI ports and a USB. There’s a lens cap to remove, which does help to keep dust off of the lens. The power cord is two pieces with a large block. It’s not a super long cord and the block is kind of in the middle, which could make for an awkward power connection. Wi-Fi – Once you have it turned on there are some setup screens to go through. You will have the option to connect wirelessly to the internet. I did not have any issues connecting to my Eero 6 Pro. You can also check for firmware and download any updates available. Mine appeared to be up to date. Apps – The projector has built-in apps, which is what I was looking for. There are choices for apps like Netflix, Amazon, and Youtube that are already loaded. You can use the App Assistant to download apps like Disney, Hulu, and ESPN. Unfortunately, the apps are terrible. Disney and Hulu just showed a blank login screen, so I had no way to actually log in. I did get logged into ESPN, but it wouldn’t play any video clips. If you plan to use this for apps, I’d suggest you go ahead and look at getting a streaming device that uses the projector’s input. I moved a Firestick over to the projector and it worked great. Once I got past this part, I started enjoying the projector. Picture Quality The V700 has a 1080P resolution. The brightness is rated at 680 lumens and the Contrast Ratio is 1500:1. There are certainly higher resolution, higher lumen, and higher contrast ratio projectors out there. Just know what you are getting and keep your expectations set for these levels. Vankyo does recommend to use a projection screen, which they also make. The projection screen will help to present the best quality for your projected image. Some people project to their walls, which can be fine. Just understand that dark wall colors will diminish the brightness of the picture and alter the color rendering. Also, if your walls have any imperfections, you will be more likely to see these with the bright light shining on it. My Impression of the Picture – I was really happy with it. The colors are vivid. I could adjust the brightness, size of the image, and shape the projection even projecting at an angle. I think that this device works well for a small room. I am using it in my office and throwing the image about 12 feet. Sound Quality There are two 8 watt speakers in the projector. The speakers are loud, but they are tinted. There’s not a lot of bass, which bothers me. There are some connectivity options to help with this. On the back of the projector, there’s a 3.5 mm jack that you can send audio out. Also, there’s a Bluetooth connection option which is what I am using. My computer speakers have better sound quality than the projector speakers, so that is what I went with. These options could give you access to connecting to your home theater. Recommendation Overall, I am happy with using the Vankyo projector in my office. Once I got past the issues with the internal apps and connected the audio to an external source, I started really enjoying it. I am giving this product 4 stars. If they could fix the app issues and provide the mounting screws, it would certainly increase my rating.

Amazing Auto Focus with Plenty of Sound

I’ve been searching around for a Projector for the new house, as I’ve decided that wall mounting additional TVs would limit the flexibility of the space in the future. I don’t want to put more holes in my wall than needed. I wanted something that was both flexible for indoor and outdoor use, so we could host movie nights out in the yard when the weather gets better. With that in mind, I wanted a projector with built in speakers, wireless streaming, auto-focus and adjustable screen size to fit any space we decided to use. The Vankyo Performance V700 Pro checked all those boxes and more, so I decided to give it a try. Pros: - Easy to setup and move around. - Powerful Built in Speakers. - Automatically adjusts screen size and Auto Focuses. Cons: - Fan is Loud when on. - Device Streaming can be laggy depending on source device. Setup: Setup was easy, just plug in, turn on and follow the prompts. The projector measures in at 12in by 4in by 9.5in with the cap on and a weight of ~5lbs, which is average as projectors go. Calling this a portable projector will depend on your setup and use, but for moving around the house it is “portable”. The included lens cap slides in to protect the lens when not using or moving around. During setup you will be asked to set the orientation of the projector with 4 options available: Table toward screen, ceiling towards screen, table behind screen, and ceiling behind screen. This can always be adjusted in the settings after the initial setup, which allows for greater flexibility in use. Setup will continue to connect to the WiFi, which uses the included remote to navigate and select from an onscreen keyboard, which is a bit slow, but once past that step navigation was simple with the included remote. I was able to easily find settings, navigate to apps, and change inputs. One of the small but great feature of the Vankyo Performance V700 Pro is the included software, with apps and channels that allow you to watch streamed media without a source device if you are connected to the WiFi. The navigation is simple and feels very responsive. This worked great for YouTube and Prime video, from which we watch most of our content. Connectivity: The Performance V700 Pro can be directly connected or wirelessly streamed to. The 2 HDMI ports provide flexibility in having 2 devices connected via cable that can easily be switched between such as a cable box or computer. Wirelessly, it can be streamed to from any device that supports wireless streaming such as a phone or tablet using one of the mirroring tools such as Smart View for Samsung devices. Though in my testing, the performance of the wireless streaming will heavily rely on the source devices performance. I tried using a Samsung A50 that I use around the house as a smart controller; while streaming YouTube the feed would lag from time to time then speed up, which wasn’t enough to completely disrupt the image but did make it very annoying to try to watch. Streaming from other more power devices didn’t have any issues, though I did close out of all apps during streaming to ensure best performance. Connecting via HDMI cable was by far the most stable and my preferred method of connection. I just connected my laptop to the projector with the included HDMI cable, setting up the projector as a secondary screen. The project has a resolution of 1080p and refresh rate of 60hz in the windows display settings, by default the refresh rate was set to 30hz. Auto Focus: The V700 Pro auto focusing features are amazing, allowing you to make almost any wall or large flattish surface a screen! Yes, it works best with a projector screen, but where’s the fun and portability with that. It also works fine on the side of a house with vinyl siding, a closed curtain, or a large sheet hung from wherever. The key features are the Auto Keystone, Auto Focus, and Screen Alignment that when paired together automatically adjust the image to fit the screen you use even if it is not the perfectly flat, straight on, or perfect distance. I was able to point the projector at any wall and let it auto adjust without having to mess with any settings. Resizing is simple if you need to adjust it via the remote. Picture: The image is super crisp and clear for only being 1080p, which I was a little concerned about since I’m used to 2K and 4K monitors. But I couldn’t notice a huge difference in picture quality while watching YouTube or browsing the web as most content is only 1080 anyway. For our use, the image resolution wasn’t an important feature, we were more concerned about the color and brightness. This could be a con for some people, but when paired with all the other features the resolution isn’t bad and should be considered before purchasing. The different picture modes made a pretty big difference, since the image quality is a combination of the projector, screen, and room lighting. In a dark room or at night, the image is significantly more bright and vivid, to the point I didn’t feel any difference between it and a normal LCD TV. During the day, it will very much depend on your setup, but the image was still very visible in a well-lit or sunlit room with direct light. The only issue was that the color was washed out, but switching the picture mode “Hi-Bright” helped in our case. So far, I’ve got no concerns with color or brightness with the flexibility provided by the other features. Sound: The Sound quality and volume was one feature I wasn’t expecting to be surprised by, but these little dual speakers can deliver way more than I expected. The Dolby Audio feature adds a nice experience to any film, when supported. But even just putting on some background music from YouTube or PrimeMusic is an experience, we haven’t had to put it past 30% for anything yet and can hear it crystal clear. I tried increasing the volume up to 50% and could just barely talk over it, it honestly felt kind of like a real theater effect where you had to talk directly into the ear of the person next to you for them to hear you. This is going to be great for movies outside this summer! Conclusion: If you’re considering picking up a project for home use, the Vankyo Performance V700 Pro is a solid choice with wireless connectivity, auto focus features and powerful speakers. The Auto Focus is amazing and allows you to setup a screen on almost any semi flat surface without any effort. The wireless features make it great for easy connection or streaming of content from popular streaming services. The dual speakers provide an audio experience on par with a separate sound system. Overall, I’m very happy with the Performance V700 Pro and look forward to those summer movie nights.

This projector is absolutely brilliant, much better than I thought and exceeded expectations in terms of clarity and brightness. This is exceptional for a projector movie theater that can project upto 200” screen size. The experience of watching a movie in this projector is awesome with the right speakers. Brightness: This projector is comes with 680 ANSI Lumens (550 ISO Lumens) and displays images in Full HD with 1080p resolution (1080 x 1920). During practical use, its super bright, produces amazing picture quality in dark conditions and good quality in bright conditions too. The projector claims a overall light source life of 30,000 hours which is enormous. Distance and screen size: The minimum projector distance is 4 feet and maximum is 20 feet. It produces a minimum screen size of 40 inches and a maximum of 200 inches. The distance determines the screen size. Further you place the projector, larger the screen size. Inbuilt stream and other Input Options: By default this projector has licensed software of Netflix, Prime video and YouTube. This has WebOS software and the app store has few other options but not the important ones. This has 2 HDMI IN options and a USB port. We can connect devices like Fire stick, Roku to the HDMI IN port; or play videos via USB drive. I felt connecting a Firestick solves all its limitations. It boots up to the last used device, which is convenient. Screen cast is also available where I was able to cast my tab screen to the projector. I could also connect my laptop to use it for presentations. Sound Options: The projector has an inbuilt dual 8W speaker which is alright. But for the ultimate experience it should be connected to a sound bar via Bluetooth or 3.5mm jack. It supports Dolby audio when connected to the right speakers. Unfortunately I noticed a very slight delay in sound when connected via Bluetooth to my external Home theater sound bar. So I am using a 3.5mm jack instead and its perfect. Auto Focus Feature: The best feature of this projector is its Auto focus. When the projector is moved slightly, it does an auto focus to adjust the image to produce a crisp and sharp image. This can also be projected from a side angle, and the auto focus automatically processes the image and projects it straight and this feature feels like magic. This also has an manual focus mode, which comes in handy if the auto focus doesn’t produce the sharpest image (it could happen when projected from a side-upward angle). Projection Angle: It supports 4 different projection angles – Front Desktop, Front Ceiling, Rear Desktop and Rear ceiling. Portability: With just 5 pounds weight and 12 x 10 x 4 inches, its pretty portable and easy to move around and setup anywhere we like. Watching Experience: The experience of watching a late night movie with this projector is out of the world. With right speakers, it almost feels like watching in a cinema hall. Noise: The only con of this projector is its loud noise. By no means it is quiet. However, when I was watching something with sound, the sound suppresses the projector noise. This did not hinder my movie watching experience. Summary: The Vankyo Performance V700 Pro projector as the name suggests performs like a pro. With crisp sharp images, the picture quality is brilliant and it can get plenty bright as well. I had a great time watching movies in it. I absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for a projector.

    A Solid Smart Projector

I was excited to get the opportunity to use the new Vankyo Performance V700 Pro Projector. With its 1080P resolution, built-in Android WebOS for streaming, along with Bluetooth and wireless connectivity, it's exactly what I wanted for enhancing movie night and work presentations. First thing I noticed was the compact sleek modern design, compared to other projectors that just look like printers with a lens attached to it. The V700 Pro has a nice matte finish, mostly made of plastic, and it feels pretty sturdy. It’s lightweight enough to carry around and can easily fit in a small bag or the box it came in, making it a great choice for those who need portability. The lens is well-protected and comes with a lens cover, and the overall construction doesn’t feel cheap. Setting up the projector was pretty straightforward and it is pretty much plug and play. Point the projector towards the screen or wall and it will auto adjust and focus the picture to the screen. That being said, you will need to make sure you are at least 8 to 9 ft away to get the full 120 inches. This is where I noticed a slight design flaw in the projector, in that it's difficult to angle the projector just right, along with getting it to the right height at which the projector needs to be at. It has a built-in screw angle adjustment for the tilt and I found myself stacking several books under it for a better angle. I assumed the projector would have some sort of mounting screw on the bottom of it, where I could potentially use a camera tripod to mount it on, but it didn't have one. My whole grand scheme of using this projector was for an outdoor movie night with an inflatable 120in screen. This led me to look for a special tripod designed for a projector that has a flat base and can be strapped down for stability and I was able to find one online for around $30, FYI. I did bring it into my office for a presentation and I forgot the remote at home, but luckily it has touch sensitive buttons built into the top of it where you're still able to navigate the home page, apps and inputs, which was super clutch. It comes with Android WebOS built-in, so you don't need to connect an external streaming device (it does come with 2 HDMI input ports if you do want to connect a streaming device, laptop or gaming console) so it's one less thing you need to worry about. And it has access to all the big name apps like Netflix, YouTube, Prime and Hulu. Navigating through the menus was smooth thanks to an intuitive interface. The included remote control (AAA batteries not included) was responsive, making it easy to adjust picture settings and switch between inputs. Connecting my devices was hassle-free. The V700 Pro supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing for connecting to my Wi-Fi for streaming and quick pairing with Bluetooth speakers. For a relatively budget projector, the picture quality was impressive. The native 1080P resolution delivered crisp visuals, and colors were fairly accurate right out of the box. I tested it in different lighting conditions, and while it obviously worked best in a dark room, the 680 lumens brightness made it usable even with some ambient light. One minor downside is that blacks and contrast levels aren’t as deep as those found in higher-end projectors. Dark scenes in movies sometimes lacked detail, but overall, it provided a great viewing experience for casual use. The built-in dual speakers were decent but not outstanding. They are loud enough for a small room, and can drown out the fan noise, but I’d definitely recommend using an external Bluetooth speaker or soundbar for a better audio experience, especially if you’re planning to use it for movies or gaming. I was able to test it with my PS5 Pro, and while it will only push out 60Hz and there was some noticeable input lag in fast-paced games, it wasn’t a dealbreaker for casual and party gaming. The fan noise was on the louder side, especially during long periods, but it wasn’t unbearable. Over time, I got used to it, and when paired with an external speaker, it became less noticeable. Pros and Cons Pros: Native 1080P resolution for sharp visuals Built-in WebOS with streaming apps Wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi & Bluetooth) Lightweight and portable design Multiple input options (HDMI, USB) Automatic keystone correction Cons: Fan noise is noticeable during extended use Lack of built in mounting system Contrast levels could be better for dark scenes Built-in speakers are average—external audio is recommended Not ideal for fast-paced gaming due to input lag Overall, the Vankyo Performance V700 Pro delivers solid performance for its price range. It’s a great option for casual home theater setups, streaming, and even occasional presentations. While it has a few drawbacks like fan noise and average contrast, its ease of use, picture quality, and built-in smart features make it a worthwhile purchase.

I’m actually very impressed with this projector, but I have a couple of issues that make me not love it to give a 5 star review. The first one I received had a faulty fan, but Vankyo customer service quickly took care of the issue and sent me out a new one. They were fantastic and very responsive about getting the issue corrected. The device itself was easy to setup just plug it in and connect to the internet. However I struggled with getting the projector to fill up my screen. I tried so many different things and sorta got it working. The auto focus and keystone correct can be hit or miss and using the manual setting wasn’t able to fully fix the problem. Today when I turned on the device after having it pretty well setup the screen was smaller and out of focus. It does an auto focus/keystone correction on each start up or if it sense it moved. While this is nice I wish on the remote had a button to redo the auto setup since it’s not always correct. I just shook the device and it did another auto correction and everything is pretty normal. The other projector I have everything is done manually but seemed to be easier to do than this device. The built in apps and system is just okay. It’s not a full android device so some apps are missing. The biggest one that was missing for me was youtubetv. Not a big deal I just connected my google tv device in since that one was already setup. Plus this projector has two HDMI’s which is great and it’s easy to change the source in the projectors menu. It also has a USB input, but I did not test that out. I have a cheap screen and with my old projector it looked fine, but the colors were not vivid and looked a little washed out. This Vankyo projector the colors are vivid and the resolution is great. This looks just as good as a 1080P LCD tv screen. This projector really just looks great and I actually enjoy watching TV and movies with it. My old projector it was fine but it just lacked with vivid colors and clarity. The fan on this machine is pretty quiet even when running at high speed. You can easily hear the built in speakers over the fan. The built in speakers are okay and sound like something you would find on an LCD tv. You will for sure want to hook this up to a speaker system, but if you take it some place the built in speakers would suffice for watching on the go. I like that they give you a lens cover so you can cover the lens when not in use. The remote has everything you need to use the device and it even controls my google tv. On the machine are also controls, but they can be hard to see. They also included an HDMI cable which I did not use. Overall I do like this projector as it does have a great picture quality which is all that really matters with a projector. I like the fact it has two HDMI ports and is pretty easy to use. This projector will replace my old one as it just looks so much better.

I have bought a couple projectors recently and had to return them due to poor image quality but this projector is awesome for the price. This projector is bright, clear and the ease of setup, and seamless compatibility with the Amazon Fire Stick are awesome. All I have to do is turn it on and speak into the fire stick remote and it pulls up exactly what I say, no need to select the source. The auto-focus and keystone make it easy to set the projector anywhere and get it to fit a wall or screen.

Pretty solid entry level smart projector. The Vankyo V700 Pro is fairly compact with 1080p HD resolution, 2 HDMI inputs, 1 USB port, WiFi, and automatic focusing and keystoning. It’s bright enough to watch sports in ambient light, but dark scenes need a dim room. There’s no lens shift or optical zoom, so there’s less flexibility in placement, but that’s pretty standard for portable and entry level projectors. What’s really nice though, is how easy it is to adjust the keystoning for a proper square image. Every projector should have 4 corner keystoning, it makes setting up so easy. It’s also easy to manually focus and the image is remarkably sharp from the bottom to the top of the frame. There’s a built-in speaker for sound that I’ll describe as “it works”, but you’ll be much happier connecting to a bluetooth speaker. Fortunately, the bluetooth connection doesn’t seem to have any lag and I had no issues with the audio going out of sync while watching movies. I also appreciate how snappy the remote and user menu are. The V700 Pro does the basics well and is a strong option in the price range. However, there are definitely quirks. The WiFi works well as does streaming Netflix, Prime, and the live TV app that’s included. But then you go deeper into the Home menu and it gets a little weird. For instance, there’s a Hulu icon that looks like it would be an app like Netflix, but instead takes you to Hulu.com in a browser window. You’ll have to use the remote D pad to guide the mouse and it’s not worth it, because it won't stream. At least not for me. And it’s seemingly like that for everything, but Netflix and Amazon Prime. On the bright side, the HDMI input and USB port make adding a streaming stick super easy and is a fairly cheap and worthwhile addition. But if all you really watch is Netflix and Amazon Prime, then you’re already good to go! If you’re looking for a compact or entry level projector, it’s a strong option in the price range. It’s not as “smart” as it pretends to be, but it puts out a sharp 92” image from about 8’ away and is bright enough to watch sports in ambient light. Turn the lights down for movies (as you should). Add a bluetooth speaker, a streaming stick, and you have a solid big picture movie night kit on a tight budget. PROS - 1080P looks sharp throughout - Easy to keystone - Bright enough for sports in ambient room light - Good picture out of the box - Sharp and easy to focus - Snappy user interface - Netflix and Prime work great - No latency issue with bluetooth speakers - Easy 4 point keystone adjustment - USB and HDMI perfect for streaming stick - 2x HDMI inputs, 1x USB - Compact size - Good price point CONS - Limited app options - Color palette doesn’t seem deep - Speaker is usable, but eh - Front tilt screw not long enough - Hulu tile goes to website instead of app - No lens zoom or shift

    Fantastic Streaming Machine

This projector is amazing. I have used several different projectors before but never one with a smart streaming system built in. What’s great about this one is that you have the option to connect external devices to it, but you don’t have to in order to use its main viewing features. Since this projector connects to WiFi and has a smart OS built-in, you can connect to various apps and streaming services without the need for an external device. This is a remarkable entertainment machine. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. Setup Within 5 minutes, I had this projector up and running. It comes with an HDMI cable and a power cable and adapter. Once you have it plugged in, you simply tap the power button and the lamp fires up. The first thing you are instructed to do is to connect the Bluetooth remote. Once you do, you connect it to your WiFi network and then you walk through the various permissions. Finally, you get to the services screen. Here you can select YouTube, Netflix, Plex and other streaming services. For me, this was a very smooth process. As soon as I connected to our WiFi network, I was able watch videos on YouTube with no issues. Audio and Video Quality This projector provides a very bright, clear picture. Even though it’s a 1080P video resolution, it looks more like 4K when it’s projected on a wall. The lamp provides a very bright picture. Even though I was streaming YouTub videos, it looked very much like I was watching on my TV. I was very impressed and could easily use this to replace a TV in one of my rooms. This projector has built-in speakers that are quite loud and sound great. One other projectors I’ve used, I’ve had to connect external speakers because they just were loud enough. The speakers on this projector are clear and I actually had to turn the volume down. Final Thoughts This projector is an outstanding all-in-one entertainment device that combines convenience, quality, and versatility. With its built-in smart streaming system, seamless setup process, and impressive audio-visual performance, it delivers an experience that rivals traditional TVs. The ability to stream directly from apps without requiring an external device makes it incredibly user-friendly, while the bright, sharp picture and powerful speakers enhance the overall viewing experience. Whether you're using it for movies, gaming, or casual streaming, this projector is a fantastic choice that exceeds expectations.

Bottom Line: The Vankyo Performance V700 Pro projector offers good picture quality and sound in an easy to use and lightweight, portable design. Pros: easy to use; good picture quality; excellent sound (if behind the projector); decent autofocus; fairly quiet operation Cons: weaker sound (if positioned in front of projector); netrange app store; lens cap falls off easily; remote batteries and carrying case not included Review: The projector is extremely easy to set up. Once plugged in and turned on, it will autofocus and ask you to pair the remote (2xAAA batteries not included), which only takes a few seconds. The unit comes with Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and some other apps installed, and once you connect to WiFi and login to your accounts, you should be able to stream content. From opening the box to playing a movie was only about 10 minutes. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the picture quality, which was very good projected against our kitchen wall. Although the autofocus works fairly well and will automatically refocus if you move the unit, I do find I can get the sharpest picture by manually adjusting the focus a couple more clicks. Sound quality is dependent upon where you are relative to the projector. Seated behind or to the side of the unit, I found the speakers delivered a loud and immersive experience. Sound performance when seated in front of the projector, however, was not as good, and I found I really had to focus on what people were saying at the same volume compared to when I was behind it. Although there are a variety of apps available, the projector uses Netrange, which, at the time of writing, doesn’t have an Apple TV+ or (HBO) Max app available. This, however, isn’t a huge issue, since you can stream from your smart device to the projector or connect via 2 HDMI inputs (one cable included) or USB. I had no issues using my iPad to play content. Last, the projector is fairly small and lightweight, which makes it ideal for moving around the house (we plan on using it for movie night outside) or even traveling with it. Given its portability, the lens cap design is flawed, as it doesn’t secure to the lens. Rather, it just rests inside the ring of the lens and so when you pick the unit up to move it, the lens cap just falls out. Also, it would have been nice if some kind of carrying bag were included, since it marketed as a portable device.

The Vankyo is the perfect home projector for those looking to bring the big screen home all with little to almost no effort. With modern technology incorporated in the unit, set up and navigation is so easy that my 8 year old nephew can do it. Out of the box the main unit will come with the power cable, one hdmi cable, book of instructions and the remote (batteries not included). This has to be my third projector i own and by far it is the most user friendly with the best sound and picture quality that i have seen. Once the unit is powered on it will begin to auto focus and adjust itself according to its orientation. Speaking on the subject this is probably one of the best functions of this whole unit. You can literally pick the unit up as your playing a movie, relocate it to make the screen bigger or smaller and it will auto focus and straighten the picture screen all automatically. Older projectors used to make you do all that manually and sometimes it came out good and sometimes the images were still blurry. Once the picture is set up it will then prompt you to go ahead connect the remote and gives you step by step instructions on screen on how to do that. The unit is preloaded with Netflix, Amazon video and YouTube but you do have the function to screen mirror your Android and Apple phone as well. The unit does come with built in speakers but obviously given the size of the projector dont expect movie theater quality. That's not to say the sound is horrible, because it definitely is not. The volume is also plenty loud with me never getting past 50% on the volume gauge. Picture quality is phenomenal and the pictures that i uploaded do not do it justice. I understand you need a black or white back drop but i put it against a blue one just to see how the colors would look and it still came out amazing. I don't know what else to say about this other than if you are a family looking to bring movie night or game night to your backyard or indoor home this is a easy buy.

I’ve viewed and operated a few projectors in my life and this one is the fastest and most interactive one I’ve come across, especially for the price point (sub $500). Quite a few people debate about quality level and offerings of a sub $500 projector, but I think the v700 can stand up to challenge. The very first thing I can say about this projector is its lightning fast speed. Immediately after unboxing and connecting the projectors power cable, I grabbed the remote and connected the projector to my home network, completely missing the initial auto-focus in action. Before I could select my WiFi, the image was in-focus, bright, and ready for the next command. While entering my password I was able to take notice of the quickness & responsiveness of navigating through the menu options. Then I jumped into the native apps to test their speed as well, which all remained very quick. The colors were bright and vivid, and accurate. I instantly noticed the sound that came from the unit, which was louder than other projectors I’ve used in the past. However, I will say the claim of “immersive Dolby surround sound” from 2 8-watt speakers is laughable. But, for the times in which I will use the projector without external speakers, the volume is just fine. I connected an external device via the one and only USB port, which I must say is rather disappointing, but There are also 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm audio output, Bluetooth 5.1, and a built-in smart tv operating system. This projector is listed as a portable projector which confuses me as there is not a carrying case included. The Vankyo site states a carrying case should be included (with the performance pro native) but I’m not sure if only the Native version gets the carrying case vs. the performance pro. The device as a whole is a decent size for portability ( 3.97”x 11.8” x 9.3”), and only weighs 5lbs, making it easy to carry to/from any destination. The v700 has native 1080p resolution with a brightness of 550 lumens. Overall, this is a pretty solid projector that you can tote along on trips, or simply set it up in your backyard for a family movie night. Either way, I think this is a must-have for anyone looking to enjoy a good movie/show in a different environment.

TLDR - The Vankyo Performance V700 Pro 1080p projector is a decent projector with good enough brightness for a darker room/night time usage. The built in apps work well, and the image quality is solid. The speakers leave something to be desired as far as audio depth and quality, but it does get loud enough to easily fill a room. (My 3 year old watching Bluey had zero complaints) It’s not exactly what I’d consider “portable” due to the massive power adapter, but its not heavy and with built in apps, you don’t need anything else (other than wifi) to get up and streaming! Picture/brightness - The image quality was actually better than expected, and the brightness was better than expected considering its only rated at 680 lumens. Not that it gets bright, but its better than I was expecting from the numbers. Inputs/outputs - It has 2 HDMI ports and a USB port for inputs, and a 3.5mm audio jack for audio output. Would be nice to have a better wired audio out option, but you can attach an external bluetooth device. (Just be aware of possible latency issues) Apps/setup - The setup was decent, all of the apps seem to work well and wifi stays connected. I did notice, however, multiple spelling issues in setup and menus. (Not a good look for a device of this price, seems like it could only be acceptable in a device half this price from that big online store…) Overall I would have given it a 5/5, but the awkward OS spelling/grammar issues are hard to ignore in a device that is in this price class.

Its better than my old projector. Picture quality great. Sound quality great! My only cons for this projector is the bulky size and the super loud fan. It’s extremely loud.

I've been looking for a versatile projector for my living room and I have been incredibly impressed with it so far. The brightness and clarity of the visuals were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the projector could easily be adjusted to provide the correct angle and focus for the projected image. The colors and shades of the image were vivid and crystal clear. The contrast between dark and bright scenes was excellent. The multiple connectivity options offer superior flexibility and they include HDMI, AV, USB, and other ports. I have tried to connect to my Google TV box, the setup was straightforward as well. The connection is stable with no lags during our movie and drama session. Using a projector to watch a movie or drama can be an incredibly satisfying experience. Seeing everything so large feels like you're in a completely different world! The projector was easy to set up and ran smoothly without any problems. The picture quality was excellent and the overall sound quality was great. Everyone had a great time. All in all, the product has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

Not portable per-se, but still a good projector

So, they label this as a "portable" projector, but there isn't really anything notably more portable about this over any other projector in this class. It's still the same size as your average projector, and doesn't boast any features to make it any easier to take on the road over any other projector. The light is powered by LEDs, which does make it slightly more portable than your typical Metal-halide bulb. The LEDs also run significantly cooler, lighter and more robust than a projector bulb, so those traits make it easier to move around, but that's about it. Besides that point of confusion, it is a pretty decent projector. The image is bright and sharp, and it has auto-focus and keystone, and basically has zero warm up time. It senses when you move the projector, and will display a couple alignment images that a camera on the front looks at to determine how to adjust the focus and geometry of the picture. It has a small foot that you can unscrew to prop it up a bit at the front. It doesn't have a lot of travel, and the image is projected basically right in front of the projector, so I found myself still propping the front of the projector with other objects. The top of the projector features capacitive touch controls, but I found them to be pretty unresponsive (e.g. I had to touch each button twice before it seemed to register). So, they work in a pinch, but the remote works much better. The software appears to be a variant of Android, and they include the "netrange" app store, which is a generic app store for Linux and Android based smart-things. So, it may not have all the apps you expect, but it at least supports Chromecast, so you can cast whatever you need to it. Overall, it's a pretty good LED projector, with good brightness and image quality, and it sounds pretty good too (it has a fan to keep cool, but it's barely noticeable).

The Vankyo V700 Pro is an impressive and cost affective device to purchase if you are setting up a home theater. It was a breeze to setup. I have tested multiple Vankyo projectors and like all of them, but the V700 Pro is far above the rest in clarity snd brightness. I highly recommend this device. I’m sure you wont be disappointed.

The Vankyo Performance V700 Pro has great features, image quality, and is brighter than I expected for 550 ISO Lumens! Design At first glance it looks like a typical projector. When you look closer and turn it on it sort of comes to life. You see lights come on, on the top, for the different capacitive touch buttons that you wouldn't see otherwise. These buttons are easy to see and work very well, like you're touching your phone screen. They do go off after a bit. I actually don't use them much because the remote is usually more convenient for me. It has a foot in the front middle that you spin to adjust the height of the front, changing the throw angle. It works fine but isn't anything special. There are two HDMI ports, a USB Type A port, and a headphone/stereo out 1/8" jack. It comes with a remote (requires two AAA batteries, not included) that has the controls including focus, volume up and down, back, d-pad with a middle button for select/enter, power, home, settings, and buttons for different services like Netflix and YouTube. There's also an air filter on the one side that's easy to remove and clean. Image quality I am very impressed by the image quality and brightness of the Performance V700 Pro! Motion is smooth, colors are rich, and skin tones look natural. The brightness is excellent too, brighter than I expected! I also think the color and the brightness is very uniform to the edges and corners - though when I turned it on some of the edges seemed brighter. When I get an image on the screen, it looks great! I have a screen I projected on and the picture looked great on there, especially with lights off. But even with a fair amount of light in the room the picture still looked great, bright with rich color. I also tried projecting on an off-white, more like a mocha, colored wall, and even on that the picture looked very good - with whites being very white and colors being bright and vibrant! That was much better than I expected. Still, as with any projector, you really want to use a screen or paint made to be used with a projector for best results. It really looked good on the screen and I was impressed, with 550 lumens, how the picture was bright even to the edges when I was projecting a 110" diagonal on my screen. It could definitely go much larger, as advertised. I didn't have a screen, room, or good surface large enough to test it at the max of rated size of a 200" diagonal. Setup The setup process is very quick and easy for two main reasons, I think. 1. The auto focus and auto keystone correction work very well. 2. The WebOS setup is very simple and quick. Also, there were no updates to download and install when I set it up. I even went in the settings and checked for updates manually and there were none. It was really ready to go out of the box with very minimal setup time or effort. You also have great mounting/positioning options that can be easily selected from on-screen options that show pictures of each type of setup: 1. Right-side-up (standard) front projection 2. Upside-down (ceiling mount) front projection 3. Right-side-up (standard) back projection 4. Upside-down (ceiling mount) back projection WebOS Smart TV Functions As I mentioned, the remote works well. The buttons on the remote have a good feel and work well. And by that I mean the presses have a good feel to them and the response on screen is very fast. I do wish the "back" button was near the edge or in a corner. It's between volume up and down. That's just personal preference though. It works fine. It's a fairly clean and simple on-screen interface. There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the on-screen icon layout so you have a large icon for NetFlix and some other, smaller, icons to launch things like YouTube and a few other services. There are some additional apps for other services you can install. Thankfully it's not full of ads, in fact I haven't seen any. You can go into another menu with some additional options like Settings, apps for casting, and the Bluetooth speaker mode. The Smart TV interface is very responsive and the apps that I tried, mostly YouTube, worked very well, loading videos quickly and playing audio and video smoothly. This is actually one of the better/faster Smart TV experiences I've seen. Casting It supports Miracast (used for Windows Wireless Display and screen mirroring from some other devices as well) as well as some Google casting. It was able to cast Google Music and YouTube. It warns that some services will not be able to cast to it, so keep that in mind. It didn't work for me from Google Photos. There is an app to go into for each type of casting, either Miracast or Google/Chrome Cast. They also have an app to install on iOS for you to cast to it from an iPhone. The Windows Wireless Display from my laptop running Windows 11 works very well. I was able to mirror my laptop display and then set it to use the projector as the only display, running at the native 1920x1080 resolution. Still, the connection was great for audio and video playback and just running Windows applications. I used it for some gaming too - you'll want to use HDMI for that since latency hurts gaming performance if you cast. I actually used it for movie watching and totally forgot I was actually using a Windows Wireless Display. Built-in Audio The quality of the built-in speakers is pretty good for a projector. Two 8-watt speakers and Dolby do give you better sound than most projectors that I've used. The Dolby audio is fuller and richer than I would expect from a projector and the sound is pretty good. It did sound a little tinny to me at times but again, overall it was very good for a projector. I was surprised when I ran some Dolby tests on it. The sound did have more depth to it then I expected. The sound field felt larger than I expected from this projector. The positional audio wasn't perfect but I could hear objects moving around and it was better than I thought it might be with the speakers in the projector. Bluetooth Speaker Mode To go along with the enhanced built-in audio, there is a Bluetooth Speaker mode. I tested this and it worked well. It was odd in that when I connected, I was asked to make sure the number shown on my laptop matched the one on the projector, but the projector didn't display a number. I was able to just click "Connect" and it worked. As I mentioned above, I was pleasantly surprised with the audio, considering this is a projector. It's better sound than I've heard from any laptop. Summary I love the image quality, smooth motion, and brightness! Maybe even more than that I love how well the auto keystone correction and auto focus work. I also love the way the response in the WebOS Smart TV interface is very fast. The speakers are very good for a projector too - though don't expect a lot of bass, still great for a projector, and I love that there are no adds, other than services I'm not subscribed to. If I'm being very picky, I don't like spinning the foot on the bottom to adjust the height of the front (throw angle), it would be nice if there was an easy way to re-order the apps on the home screen or remove ones you don't want (maybe I didn't find it). I also would like the back button positioned differently but I got used to it fast. None of those minor complaints are reasons I would not buy this projector. The Vankyo Performance V700 Pro is not only a great value but an excellent five star projector!

Portable-Ish, Nice But.. could be better

Now days, everyone basically needs a projector in their stack of electronics. From the backyard, to the presentation, to the larger room... and their cost has come way down, which makes it very practical. So let's get into it: This is touted as a portable theater, which it is. It is lightweight, and can be brought anywhere. However, out of the box... a few things, that led to a .25 star drop - No carrying bag. Almost every projector I have purchased in the last 10 years, came with a simple bag, especially when advertised as portable - BULKY power brick. So you need to find a spot for that power brick, rather then just a cord. Also it is a custom power brick, not using a USB-C connector, so if you lose that brick or forget it.... you may be done with the projector - Seems silly, but the cap for the lease, will not stay in the projector, falls out with the simplest of movement, and isn't attached. I will be getting a simple Camera lens mount, so I can attach this cap to the projector - Then you have the remote and the HDMI cable, which if you are bringing it somewhere, with no bag, you need something for that. Next .25 star down... It has standard 4 modes (Front, Reverse, Front Ceiling, Reverse Ceiling), that is good. Even shows it in the manual. BUT, I can't see any mounting screw holes in the bottom of the project. You would need a full 3rd party mounting kit, rather just a standard mounting solution. I can't seem to locate (didn't look deeply), for an add-on mount. Plus in that configuration, that power brick is going to be an issue. Built in software, okay, this is a bonus (mostly), having built in support for Youtube and Netflix is good. So you can play just about anything on them.. haven't found anything I couldn't play yet. BUT, this is just YouTube, not YouTubeTv (which are two separate apps)... and didn't see YouTubeTV as an option to download. So these options are good, if you have a strong WiFi connection, or you can use your phone as a hotspot (say if you are in a park or campground)... The manual warns about Casting other apps, and protections they may have. For example the manual lists D+ and Hulu as possibly having issues. I didn't have any, but before you go anywhere, check what you want to play. And have a backup plan to play via connected cable instead of casting. The casting support is Great, provided the projector and the phone (android and iPhone are supported), are on the same network. In many situations, outside your home that may not be an option. I was also able to cast from my iPad and MacBook, so that works. Audio Support: I didn't try the 3.5mm jack, I just don't have any of those devices anymore. but connecting an external Bluetooth speaker was super easy, and worked well. Great for those video presentations (that I did via a USB Stick). the internal speaker that comes with it is tiny.. not loud at all. While you can play audio through it, I would recommend you don't. Spend a few dollars on a small bluetooth speaker (or go bigger), to get better supported sound. I did find it odd in the manual, that it recommends NOT to use Excel, Powerpoint, Word... presentation desktop software. I can't see any reason why not to, and they did work via a connected laptop. Okay, now for picture quality: It is good, for the size of the projector. it isn't large or bright enough to offset a full room of light, or outdoors... Haven't yet seen a project of this size, in this price range that could ,so that isn't surprising. But it is bright enough that the room doesn't have to be in total darkness, and ambient light from windows, won't really impact it. The 1080P support is nice, as I can get a really clear image from Netflix and other sources at that level (only tested movies through Netflix). Crisp images from my laptop and the casting I did as well. All the standard adjustment are there (keystone, edge adjustment). I tried to test out the Autofocus, and for the most part it seemed to work well.. .image was always clear. So overall, solid projector.. but just missed on a few things

With its ease of use, sharp image quality, and remarkable brightness, the Vankyo Performance V700 is a really nice projector. While described as a portable projector, its five-pound weight and physical dimensions seem pretty average as modern projectors go. It’s simple enough to move around the house, but not something you’re going to toss into your backpack to take on vacation. If you’re looking for portability, you might want to look smaller. Otherwise, read on. Setup was a breeze thanks to the on-screen menu. Selecting things like orientation (front / rear, upside down / right-side up), WiFi connection, and the services you want to stream directly, you can be up and running in minutes. (All of these things can be changed later through the menu as well, so you’re not stuck with your answers.) About those services – one of the handy things about this projector is that, like many contemporary TVs, it has built-in apps for standard streaming services, like YouTube and Netflix. This means you can connect directly to your providers without worrying about setting up a separate source, like a laptop. The streaming worked well, with no lags or drops. If (like me) you still prefer to broadcast from a single source, you can connect the V700 to your source device wirelessly or through a standard HDMI connection. The wireless connection was generally good. Although I did notice an occasional stutter, it was not clear if this was the projector or a network issue. HDMI is, of course, the most reliable setup option, but not necessarily the one you want to use, as you’ll likely want to set this up away from your seating area for noise control. Fan noise is one of the few downsides of the V700, as the cooling fan is rather loud. This is very noticeable during quiet passages, particularly if you’re using it as a table-top projector (therefore close to the viewers). The image quality is excellent. My screen is “only” 72”, but up to this size the 1080p full HD images look crisp. (Vankyo claims to support up to 200” images with this projector, but this was not a claim that I could validate.) There was no noticeable issue with transitions, and the blacks appeared deep enough for good contrast. The V700 was also surprisingly bright. Even with the sunshine of a Los Angeles living room coming through the windows, images were very easy to see. Sound is another issue. Yes, the V700 has speakers built in and they support Dolby. But it doesn’t say which Dolby standard (certainly not Atmos), and they are too small for a full cinema experience. Plus, it sounds odd to have the image in front of you but the sound next to or above and behind you. In other words, you’ll almost certainly not want to give up your home theater sound system, whatever that might be. Overall, this is a very nice home theater projector at a very reasonable price. If you have the right setup option available where you can mitigate the fan noise, I would recommend this unit.
