Awful experience with 2 of these TV’s in one week!

Bought this TV, first one delivered and set up on its legs, plugged it in and it was nothing but a spiderweb on the screen. Called customer service and they sent another out (delayed several days from stated delivery date). Got the second, same thing set it up and plugged it in. Hallelujah...this one had the set up screen. Followed all the instructions and it kept running the set up screen (downloading updates and restarting). It did this a dozen times while I was talking to Geek Squad. Who told me that’s not normal and I needed a technician to come out and fix it. I’m boxing this one up and sending it back also now for a full - refund (hopefully...still need to talk to customer service). This is sad piece of garbage. This tv was replacing a 12 year old Vizio that was spectacular all the way around. At this point all I can say is find a different TV to buy if you want to avoid a good deal of frustration and reboxing several TV’s, taking time to run them to FedEx for shipping. Awful experience.

Hi Mone. When you connect a VIZIO TV to the internet the first time- it will download system updates to add new features like Apple AirPlay 2, HomeKit support, and updates for devices like Amazon Alexa. It can take 2 or 3 updates depending on the model, but it shouldn't take 12. I see that you've been working with Geed Squad- if you could take a moment to call our VIZIO tech support team at 855-833-3221 we'd like to see what we can do to help. VIZIO

I got the tv on 5/20/20 set everything up and it was working great. Clear picture hood sound. Fast forward to today 7/3/20 and the tv just shuts off in the middle of me watching YouTube. I tried unplugging and plugging it back in (that gets it to stay on for about 5 seconds) I tried taking the batteries out of the remote and nothing works. I’ve had the tv for a month and 3 days.

Let me start by saying I've always been a loyal best buy customer. But this experience I felt like I had to share. I purchased this tv on Black Friday and not only did it not arrive on time, but when I set it up, the screen was damaged. There was no evidence of poor handing anywhere. Shipping box, tv box, tv. Dealing with UPS has been it's own fiasco, so I'm just going to focus on the fact that the second tv that was delivered WAS DAMAGED EVEN WORSE. I don't know if this is a vizio QAQC thing or what, but I'm returning this one too and I hope best buy customer service will take care of me.

We recently purchased a Vizio 50” 4K tv and couldn’t be happier with the purchase. We looked at one other store before deciding to purchase from bestbuy and the quality of product and pricing was great! Staff was friendly and answered all of our questions to help us determine that vizio was right for us. This tv was on sale which made the purchase even better. When we got home and set up the tv we were blown away with the picture quality, smart tv accessibility and sound. We love everything about this tv including an easy set up. The other store we looked at was charging a lot more for this same tv in a lower model. Overall we feel great about our purchase and will return to this store for more purchases in the future.

This 4K smart tv supports Dolby Vision HDR for brighter and more vibrant colors. The picture quality is fantastic, though you may not notice much of a difference if you’re not watching a native 4K Blu-ray on a 4K Blu-ray player. You have access to different apps such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and more. It has chromecast built in which is awesome! It also has something called Watchfree where you have over 100 free channels. All this stuff at such a great low price! The only gripe I have is the sound quality isn’t the best but can easily be remedied with a sound bar. Ultimately, I’m very happy with this purchase and would recommend this tv to anyone with a tight budget but who still wants a great tv with some great features!

This TV has served me well for the short amount of time I have had it. It has clear picture, the sound isn't the best. But pair it up with a decent sound bar and you have a great set up. It is cheaper and really packs a bang for your buck considering how expensive 4k TV's can get. It has great smart TV functionalities like Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Hulu, etc. It has enough HDMI ports for your regular needs, I have my Xbox, Playstation, and Cable box hooked up to it currently. I also have a switch, so if I want to play that, I simply just swap out the HDMI port from one of my other devices and I'm good to go. In case you guys were wondering, the sound bar I have is the LG SK1, it is a cheaper soundbar that runs for about $90. Overall, I would say that for the price tag it presents it isn't a bad TV at all. I would indeed recommend it if you were looking for a cheaper TV with great functionalities.

I bought this tv as a Christmas gift for my daughter, and she absolutely loves it. I always buy Vizio TVs. They are a great value, easy to set up, has the latest technology and excellent picture. Even the lower end models in comparison to other brands. My daughter found that she couldn’t use some apps with her other brand smart tv. I think it was a Philips. It was also much to small for her space. So imagine the surprise when she opened this 50 inch Vizio tv. She always remarked how much she liked mine, which is very similar to this model. If you’re looking for a quality tv at a great value, this one will not disappoint!!! I would also like to mention that I received my tv in ONE day, free of charge, in perfect condition.Due to that fact, I ordered quite a few gifts from Best Buy instead of my usual, Amazon. I don’t know if that was only a Christmas promotion, but if not, I will continue to order items on bestbuy.com. There’s also the option to shop online and pickup in the store. I haven’t tried that yet, but still think it’s a great option.

I bought this TV in July of 2019 and it has held up wonderfully since then. My family uses it for a minimum of 5 hours a day and we've had no problems so far. The layout of the " Smart Tv" feature is super easy to navigate, my parents who aren't tech-savvy have no issues using the TV and even my 4-year-old niece is able to use the TV without issues. As someone who misplaces the controller often the Vizio SmartCast app that you can download on your phone is incredibly useful as you can fully control your TV with your smartphone via Bluetooth. I read a few reviews prior to buying the TV about adjusting the screen settings for a better viewing experience but personally, the default settings are perfect. The sound quality is good for the price. The price you're paying for this TV compared to lower quality TVs produced by well-known brands is a clear bargain. A great deal for a low price.

I have have pretty much dedicated myself to the smart home idea and although I needed a new tv having the HomeKit feature was just an added plus however when I scrolled through the extras where it was supposed to be it wasn’t present. I’m still waiting for the Vizio team to give an explanation but other than that the tv is amazing to look at. It’s very vibrant and very clear. When I use the airplay and casting feature it’s pretty smooth for the most part but there’s always room for updates. Compared to the competitors Vizio is in a step in the right direction

The TV is certainly on the cheap end in price, but it certainly doesn't feel that way. The colors seem pretty great out of the box, but I did opt for a less contrasted image than the Standard option, so I created a custom option very similar to calibrated but with a "computer" color setting and low black level changes for slightly better viewing angles. It is a VA panel, I believe, because when you view it from the side, it starts to become washed out in appearance, but it's not as noticeable when you utilize the black level setting on low. There is a "game mode" that reduces latency dramatically, it's actually really snappy when enabled, but you lose image optimizations for TV content, so I wouldn't leave it enabled if you're just watching something. The TV has awesome upscaling in my opinion, which stops working when game mode is enabled. The reason is that these optimizations delay the image to the screen by a set amount of milliseconds. You don't need these optimizations while gaming anyway nowadays, so game mode should definitely be used to improve your gameplay responsiveness. 1080p content still looks excellent, but 4k looks astounding! Incredibly sharp. The HDR works fine but it's nothing dramatically life changing, there is a noticeable difference however, so I do allow it to be enabled. 720p content still looks good, which surprised me. You'll obviously start noticing blurriness on 480p content, but the image upscaling still seems to work efficiently in this case as well. I do wish there was a secondary USB port, but it's not a deal breaker. The reason I've given it 4 stars is due to a lack of downloadable apps. It comes with plenty of pre-installed apps including the main ones like Prime, Hulu, and Netflix, but there are many apps that require you to cast from another device such as a phone. It's not difficult to do by any means, but it seems like an unnecessary step, instead of just allowing us to download more apps. You can of course remedy this by getting a Roku box or something.. Hopefully when Disney's new streaming service comes out this year, this TV will update to allow that app, at least via casting, otherwise I may have to come and update my review to reflect that this TV doesn't have longevity when it comes to keeping its software content relevant. Other than that it's an awesome piece of hardware.

This replaces a Sony 40" 1080p, I bought on Black Friday in 2008. The VIZIO weights half of the old TV and takes up about the same space (frame is much smaller and VIZIO is thinner and the picture is much clearer especially on 4k programs (like looking out the window, clear. The price was great as it was about half what I paid for the old TV, which I have been very happy with. It has a new life as a computer monitor! Who knew? Plus VIZIO has "smart" features.

This is my second Vizio. It had the best features for a lower price that other brands. The picture is incredible, and it really catches all the hues and bright colors perfectly. It's really easy to set up, and I love that it comes with Watch Free, which gives you many channels for free. I would definitely buy it again.

Highly Functional 4K TV At A Bargain Price

I decided on this model to replace a slightly glitchy (and basically identical, functionality-wise) TV from a different manufacturer I purchased at that retailer whose name starts with "W." Simply put, this is a marvelous piece of equipment available at a price level for which the word "reasonable" seems a bit elitist. Great picture from any angle; good sound (I run it through a 5.2 system consisting of a Marantz NR1608 receiver, Polk tower front speakers, Yamaha center, Boston Acoustics surrounds and two Klipsch subwoofers). The remote is simple and intuitive, as are the menus. What I really like is that I can finally ditch my universal remote by enabling HDMI control in my receiver and run everything with one remote - any one I choose: the receiver, Vizio, AppleTV or Bluray player. The Vizio one is my remote of choice as it's the one with minimal buttons (OK - the AppleTV remote is even more Spartan in it's approach to tech, but it's a bit weird, functionally!). Another plus is that you can set AND SAVE customized picture settings - the basic factory settings all seem to be either too dark, too color-saturated or somewhat washed out. Better to get the exact settings for your own viewing situation and leave it at that. Also, the ability to rename inputs is always cool. My only complaint is with the input selection drop-down (actually "slide across") menu - if you don't make a selection quickly, it disappears in an instant - but this is definitely not a deal breaker. I haven't yet played any actual 4K content on it, but I did recently hook up a VCR and play an old videotape of mine and the upscaling of the picture on this TV was incredibly good. This is a very good TV from a very good company for a very ridiculously good price.

Brought home, took it out of the box, attached the legs, put it on the stand, and was easy to set up. I had to do was follow the directions on the TV screen. The colors are really good, and the remote is simple enough, plus you get a lot of free channels. There were two cons. The biggest of the two was the volume when regular TV channels, such as cable. The volume was too low versus if watching something via Smart TV apps. I would suggest also purchasing a sound bar. The other was the location of the legs, which are placed on each end of the TV versus a pedestal. It bare fit on the TV stand, and was only 7" larger than my previous TV. Other than that, I am very pleased.

Good quality picture. Pretty easy to work all. Like the Watch Free tv portion Like the Smartcast from mobile phone app We are very glad we bought this TV and 50" size works great. We have it on our TV cabinet -about 4 feet wide. With the legs it sits very well on top. We didn't have to install on wall mount.

I am a repeat, repeat customer of Vizio televisions. Years ago I was in the market for a flat screen TV. Being long on expectations and perpetually short on cash, I asked the store pro for a suggestion as to how I could meet those criteria. He said, Vizio. I was completely unfamiliar with this brand but the price was (and remains) great. I took his advice and haven't regretted a day of it. I'm on my third set and they just keep improving on the product, but somehow holding down the cost. VIZIO y'all... dont sleep on 'em. You will not be sorry.
