I looked at many different model reviews and only managed to confuse the heck out of myself. For a 12x12 living room, hanging on the wall, this is all the tv we need. No sound bar needed. We just plugged in our existing TV cable, set up the remote and haven't had any problems yet. We don't use any bundled apps. Never had a reason to but if others like that stuff, there's plenty to play with. As for the price, I saw many higher and lower priced TV's. Good luck on figuring out the actual method used for pricing TV's. Write a book on it and you will be famous.

Best tv you can get for the price... It has all latest features like Dolby Vision, Local dimming zones etc for much lesser price than bigger brands. Bezel is little thick but still reasonable. Picture clarity is good and average sound. Keeping those techie things which review sites check for best TV experience (which most people never bother about) aside.. This is best TV when you are on a budget.

You get what you play for... never been so disappointed with an electronics purchase. Rarely make it two hours without seeing a stupid blue screen. Do not buy this tv!

In terms of image quality, you really can’t beat the Vizio E series anywhere near this budget. The sharpness and color are great, brightness is good. The local dimming is occasionally noticeable for certain kinds of media but not normally in movies - I leave it set to Low. The black frame insertion feature doesn’t seem to work well at all except at maximum brightness, or maybe I’m just too sensitive to it. But these are non-essential, and overall I’m very happy with the picture. The app has some connectivity issues, but when it works, it’s actually really nice. Smart TV apps like Netflix and YouTube are snappy enough that I actually use the Smart TV features - on other Smart TV’s I’ve owned, I normally skip the apps and use an Xbox or Apple TV, but on this Vizio they’re responsive enough that I just watch straight from the TV. Overall very happy with the purchase.

It’s not a bad tv I think the picture is great, one of the best images I saw in the store for it’s price. The audio/speakers is/are horrible I must say lol not good for listening to music.. I like that it comes with Pluto tv tho that has some cool channels but there aren’t a lot of apps and when u go to more it just directs u to the mobile app for the Chromecast feature which is pretty sweet. But there’s no like App Store or place to download more apps to the tv. Not a huge deal it does come with the basics and a couple live tv apps. The smart tv aspect is just ok tho I’m thinking about getting either a fire stick or roku for a better experience and better apps

Before buying this TV, I had visited a Best Buy store, read reviews online of several models, eventually focusing on this one mostly due to price, and performance of the VIZIO we already owned. Saw several really good reviews, but some negative user comments which ultimately discouraged me. Then seeing this model the next time I went back in the store, I was very impressed and picked one up. Some comments I had read was that the TV UI is slow and that the wifi is really unreliable making streaming directly to the TV undoable for all practical purposes. Pretty much universally people seemed to like the picture quality. After spending a couple of weeks with it, I do agree that the TV on-board UI is definitely on the slow side. Turning it on, switching between inputs, etc takes a few seconds. So valid complaint, but not a big deal to me personally. To the other point - wifi/streaming performance, I have zero complaints. On first power-up, I was stepped through connecting to wifi and performing an update to the TV which went perfectly. After playing around with the different on-board apps for some time now, I haven't ever dropped a network connection. I wasn't planning to stream directly to the TV anyway, but intended to use my Xbox One S instead to do Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc, etc. But because it works so well, I prefer using those apps directly from the TV. Plus, because iTunes can be connected to the Movies Anywhere service, I can stream some (not all for some reason) of my iTunes movies in 4k via VUDU without an Apple TV 4k. No buyer's remorse here, now let's hope this thing lasts at least as long as the 1080p VIZIO we've had for many years now.

Great Choice - Better than the Doorbusters

Went in with intentions of buying one of the National Brands advertised as a Holiday "Door Buster" and left with a MUCH better product for very little more! As an owner of several other Vizio products, I have always been very impressed with the Brand and the quality of their products. The "Door Buster" was another well recognized national brand but the model on sale was heavily defeatured and with the excellent assistance of the Best Buy Associate, I was able to compare features and benefits and settle on the Vizio, a much better choice! The "Smart" part of this TV works flawlessly and set-up was amazingly simple. Could not be happier with the picture or sound out of the stock TV. I opted to purchase a 5.1 Vizio Soundbar which I highly recommend! Set-up with the Vizio TV was amazingly simple and very quick! It even works with the TV Remote!

We had purchased a LG “smart” TV a couple years ago that stopped connecting to our WiFi and started randomly turning itself on and off at various times of the day so we decided to replace it with this model. The picture is nice with excellent color depth. It is simple to operate and integrated well with our FIOS box and sound bar. The best part is that it stays connected to our WiFi router and allows us to easily access our online services (Netflix, YouTube, etc) without having to go through a complicated menu. A bonus for us is that it doesn’t automatically turn on or off of its own accord. We are very happy with our purchase.

Easy setup and easy to use. I'm still learning the Google commands but I found it needs to be in quick startup as opposed to eco mode for Google Home to turn it on. It recognizes right away that my playstation has been turned on even when in Smartcast. Great picture. Most of the default settings are too dim for my taste especially when gaming but manual adjustment will get it more than bright enough. I only have the regular PS4 not the pro so I am only using 1080p but it is smooth and the colors look great.

So far the TV is great. I was leaning away from Vizio during my TV search. But I ended back at Vizio like my previous TVs. It has a full array back light. Great for vivid colored screens. The load time for the apps such as Netflix is great. Some people want instant app without the load time. But the loading is just fine. The end decision of the purchase was the refresh rate. It has an actual 120 hz refresh rate; good for gaming as a minimal spec.

This is our first digital TV, but so far, so good. Color is good, and picture is clear, even when viewed from the side. For the price, it is an acceptable TV for those who just want to watch some sports or movies. We do not game, so we don't know how it works for that. It has a USB port to view photos, which is nice. We learned you have to pay more to the cable company to get a full picture on the screen (HD).

Great Tv! Picture is clear, SmartCast function is awesome, and set up was real easy. However you will need a sound bar. This tv does have a digital turner and it works great so far. Got this for $469 and I’m happy with it so far. Hope it last as long as my tcl I use to have (which is still working). Why the 4 star? Not because of the sound, cause all flat panel TV require a sound bar or external speaker. Drop he star cause I feel the picture should be a tad more brighter.

Picture quality is excellent. You WILL want a soundbar for this though. The built in speakers are adequate, but if you want any bass at all you'll need to upgrade. Keep in mind how wide the feet holding it up are! You'll need a 42 inch wide surface to put it on. Smooth motion is disabled by default! Good on you Vizio. The app selection is a bit limited unless you use another device to cast. And just know that this TV DOES NOT WORK with the Spectrum Live TV Streaming App.

Before this I've had a 50 incH plasma since 2012 that was starting to show it's age. I felt like I wasn't getting the most out of my PS4 Pro and our blu rays. Bought this yesterday and already have no regrets. Took about 20 minutes to set it up, connect it to wifi and let it go through it's updates. When you switch input to your gaming device, make sure you go to "Input Settings" and turn on HDR to activate 4k. If you're a gamer the 120hz is a huge improvement over 60hz. I immediately noticed a difference when I tested Apex Legends on my PS4 Pro. I didn't even realize how much I was getting motion blur before now that I have absolutely none. I can see my targets clearer than ever, and movement and motion is smoother than ever. It legitimately increased my performance. I tested it out on some shows on Netflix available in 4k like Breaking Bad, and Blue Planet II. Definitely notice the difference don't want to watch anything in 1080p anymore lol. Overall this is definitely a worthwhile upgrade from an old 60hz plasma. Price is very reasonable and I'm happy with my purchase. If something happens in the meantime I will update this review.

I'm writing this only two weeks in, but so far, I am so pleasantly surprised with this purchase. This is my first 4K TV purchase. As a member of the "geek fraternity", the only reason it has taken so long is because I was once an early adopter, and just wanted to get the most out of my $2,800 Samsung first generation 1080p 3-D television! It is still kicking and kicking very well. But, in a new house now with a few more rooms. With that said... I bought this as an open box, going by the picture quality of the 2019 edition displayed in the store..so took the gamble. I didn't want to pay huge money as this is going into an office (not primary TV viewing area). So, out of the box (which there was not a box..but factory settings), the picture needs to be calibrated for the darks. Other than that (which most will do this anyway), I am blown away by the picture quality at this price point. I know that brand new this model was closer to $700-800, but still...the last time I purchased a 55 inch TV I paid just under $3,000. In today's market, I find it so difficult to justify spending any more than $800 for a 55-inch. But, I am more of a sound freak than a picture freak (have this set up in the office with Dolby Atmos). Hope this review helps. Cheers!

The 55" Vizio Smart TVis easy to operate and it has a clear picture and great sound. We used a wall mount and viewing is easy from any part of the living room. Viewing Netflix or Amazon Prime is one touch of a button on the handy remote. Using You Tube and other areas of the Internet is also user friendly. Everyone in the family loves it.

Length of ownership at the time of this review is 1 month. Pros: picture quality Low glare Deep blacks Features Dolby vision Price Build quality Setup Cons: VOLUME BANNER! Changing the volume brings up an annoying banner that spans the entire bottom of the screen. This cuts off about 15% of the content on screen. Granted it is a somewhat see through banner but still annoying. Onboard smart tv operating system is slow and clunky. Sound quality from the onboard speakers are laughable, but that’s a given from any TV. Maybe a couple more HDMI ports would be nice. Conclusion: All-in-all a good bargain for the amount of features.
