the tv works very great. honestly alot mixed reviews is from buying first generation models and this oled was vizio first attempt at oled. i played smartly and decided wait a year and within year they recently updated all tvs to fix issues such as vrr at 120. im gamer so immediately tested it and works at 120 at 4k with hdr 10. witg dolby vision still limited to 60. hopefully with future update that will be fixed. as far as picture i was amzed and the pop in colors. i had mini led from tcl which is very very good picture but oled just sharper and more vibrant. i used following settings to calibrate picture (cal dark, tone mapping 100, brightness 55, contrast 51, color 52 and all advanced setting set on low except for luminance which cranked to 100). these tv are perfect for bedroom. HDR/uhd movies look great on this tv. gaming and playing forza horizon 5 was amazing sharp and detailed, I like tv soo mich i bought two more for my bedrooms. though i admit oled tv dont get bright enough for living rooms so i will be sticking with mini led for that until technology advances enough to fix that issue. black are very detailed. The OS system im not a big fan of though it is functional but just too much as always buy roku streaming stick if tv does not come with roku. I had for about month now and will update reviews 6 months. but overall very happy and as side note two first hdtv were vixio boguht in 2013/2014 and both are still working. also the only issue i found with the tv was soundbar issue as my tcl soundbar recognized at first but then stop working; after hard reset where unplugged all hdmi inputs and put them in one by one starting with sound bar first fixed the issue. i dont have lg to compare the picture to lg as this first oled but i imagine since panels being manufactured by lg there cant be too much of difference but only thing imo that lg has is slight better os system if dont wanna but roky stream stick and for gamers i beleive suppports 120 with dolby vision

Great picture, support for all of the HDR formats, quick app performance. VRR looks great.
The main downside I have with it is that it won't pass 5.1/7.1 PCM through eARC. It passes everything else fine, though sometimes you have to switch it between auto and bitstream in settings to get it to work. Also, it completely messed up the Dolby Atmos signal from my PC, sending the audio channels to the wrong speaker (rear surround to front, center to right front speaker etc.) If you use headphones for gaming this won't matter to you.
For most people this would be an amazing TV. Vizio has been updating the firmware frequently to fix the bugs and issues it has and with the extended return period Bestbuy is offering I think this is a very worthwhile TV for anyone interested in an OLED to try out.

Great Alternative to a LG OLED. Everything works for your gaming needs VRR etc. So it’s the perfect TV for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, & PC Gaming. Has all the streaming you will needs. It will require some type of sound bar to complement the experience. It does has it’s quirks as it is a Vizio product.

Having held on to a 2012 1080p plasma, it was finally time to upgrade. Luckily there are no trade offs with this upgrade, image quality is superb. I have it in a bright room and was concerned with being able to see During the day, but so far so good. Some dark HDR titles are a little tougher to see during the day in a bright room...and that was expected, but this thing shines at night. Was torn on this vs an LG CX, but decided to take the gamble considering it uses LG oled panels, and has more features for future proofing, having BOTH Dolby vision and HDR10+ is what sold me on this vs LG.
My only complaint so far is with smartcast, when I airplay the tv freezes and I have to reboot, and I seem to have problems with eARC with my JBL 5.1 soundbar, seems to hang and freeze both the tv and soundbar sometimes (usually when using smart cast or airplay) hopefully some firmware updates come out to fix these issues. But other than that, I mainly use Apple TV 4K and have had no issues.

Hello Moondog,
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. Regarding the issue you described with SmartCast freezing when you use AirPlay, we have not been able to reproduce this issue and it is not something we have encountered. Similarly with the eARC issue you described, we tested this with a variety of eARC soundbars and have not experienced this. We would like to learn more detail about the issue you are experiencing to see if we can reproduce this and address it. Can you reach out to VIZIO Support at 844-254-8087 to provide more detail? I have owned this TV for a few months now, and I have to say I am really impressed by the picture quality and performance it has put put. HDR and 4k looks really great after some proper calibration.
With that said, the fact that it's a crapshoot weather or not software updates are going to make the whole TV unusable is a big reason not to buy this TV. Having to reboot it, due to an unstable built-in OS really holds this TV back from being amazing.

Outstanding picture! I bought a sony 950 and this vizio around Xmas. There both good, however, the presentation of the Vizio {OLED} is just more realistic. Both are bright - however , I feel the Vizio to be as bright or more so . This OLED is not dim at all.
On my unit, the weakness is the OS. It is not as stable as the Sony. The main issue is the volume control. There is a response time delay of 5-7 seconds before it will do what is requested. With a good clean signal the OLED is just a joy to watch!

I was really hoping I made the right choice in making this purchase. It was either this, or the more expensive LG model. Looking back, I wish I spent the extra money on the LG model. Overall, this TV is good. The picture is great and the design is nice and modern. First, the lack of a lot of settings offered on other models is a bummer. This makes me drop a star on the rating. Second, at least once a week when I turn the TV I see the power light turn on, but the screen just remains pure black. There is nothing I can do but unplug the TV and reset it. I can live with this happening once a month but once or twice a week is too much. After contacting VIZIO customer support they told me my warranty expired one month ago. So that's very annoying. I would expect such large purchase for the latest and greatest to perform better. Unfortunately, the software updates have also not helped. This issue drops another star on the rating scale.

The TV is beautiful and has a great picture. At first we loved the tv but after a year of usage we have grown tired of regular bugs and now picture issues.
There are many times this tv will not turn on. It is a quick fix to unplug the tv and plug it back in but this should not be needed. When unplugging from back of the tv it is very difficult to plug it back in. The cord should be a low profile plug as it barely fits in the recessed area. This I believe has caused other issues on the tv with having to Keep unplugging it and plugging it back in.
Now we have lines on the tv that can come out sometimes after leaving the tv unplugged for a few days but it does not always work. The lines will come on different areas and will sometimes flicker. We have called to see if we can get a warranty but of course the warranty is up after 1 year.
My experience with this TV makes it very hard to buy Vizio again.

The picture quality is great and of course blacks are amazing since its OLED. It doesn't get very bright, its about good but not great. Thats kinda the down fall with this OLED. Vizio makes great tv picture quality wise, but I don't love their interface/smart OS. Its definitely limited compared to Samsung. There is no App Store and you can't opt or delay software updates. However if you really want OLED, I think this is a great first step for Vizio who just starting making OLED. TV is super thing on the edges, be super careful handling it.

Initially ordered a hisense 55" h9g, at the time of pickup, just browsing through the models, the Vizio OLED 65" caught my eye, almost instantly fell in love with and none other felt interesting anymore. Lol. So ended up spending double my budget, the tv costing about 2k, but with BB member offer, came down to 1.5k which was a real good deal for an OLED. Only 3 companies ( LG, Sony & Vizio ) sell OLEDs in the US, and only 1 ( LG ) supplies the panels and both the Sony & LG were atleast 500-700 more than this. So hands down, this was a fantastic offer, and after 2 weeks of watching, I would say it was worth every penny spent.
I am totally in love with this TV.
Pros:
Great picture, Perfect blacks, calibrated modes
Easy to install, but definitely need 2 people to mount or lift.
Robust packing, very helpful while transporting
Cons:
SW is laggy at times, specifically volume.
Does not turn on sometimes, from Alexa.
PS: If you happen to visit BB in Tigard, OR, ask for a person by name Zach(k), he is quite knowledgeable, helpful n very patient, no pushing.

This TV is a stunning piece of art. I have bought several Vizio TV's and I have never had an issue with one. I got this for a steal here at Best Buy. This OLED has the deep blacks and superior contrasts that OLEDs are known for. It has 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, earc and can 4k at 120hz for gamers. When Vizio first issued this TV in 2020 it had some bugs which have since been corrected by firmware updates. You will not get a better deal on an OLED with this quality, function and size. I love this TV. The current online price is $1199, I got it cheaper buy purchasing in store. It still retails at Wal-Mart at over $1700. I am still not a fan of the smartcast that it comes with, so I use a Firestick 4k. Tip, i did have to adjust the picture to peak luminance for HDR, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision to get the optimum brightness.

This was a replacement for an older 50" Visio Smartcast TV. I wanted OLED and a bigger screen. I am impressed with the vividness of the color. I have always liked the Smartcast feature, where I can start watching something on my laptop and just cast it over to the TV. I own a Fire Cube, so the other built in apps are less useful to me, but the TV works seamlessly with the Fire Cube. Great for sports (Football, Golf). Hear it is great for gaming too.

The picture & features are stunning, especially at its price point. It was a nightmare to set up and get it working properly with my Xbox Series S and Vizio Elevate sound bar though. Also disappointing that at this time it only supports VRR at a maximum of 4K 60hz and not 4K 120hz (it supports 4K120 without VRR, which is what I set it to). Vizio is promising an update to support full 4K120 VRR at the time of this writing (no eta). It also presented a power on/off issue at first which I seem to have remedied.

I've had this television since 2020 and its been amazing!!! When I first got it, it had its down sides since it just came out when I first got it. I must say this T.V has come a long way since then though. Pixels are still vibrant, and beautiful. Its great for video games, movies, or really anything. I've even used my T.V as a PC monitor, when I played games on my PC. I say if you're looking for a great t.v to go with you through life this is the TV for you!!

Budget OLED, but still great quality picture. Upscaling could use some work but when viewing Dolby Vision and HDR+ content, the picture is amazing. 4k content is pretty great too. You can play around with settings to get the picture quality you desire, but takes a bit of getting used to. Overall great price for a great TV. Here's hoping for future firmware updates to fix some minor issues with vrr and other such gaming functionality.

Excellent picture, average motion processing, good build quality (except the stands rear leg), and a pretty good value. Haven't tested HDMI 2.1, but that was the biggest selling point. LG/Sony I would say put out a better product, but given cost and lack of HDMI 2.1, this is probably the better "gamer" value. The eArc has trouble with my Sonos Arc, but a few updates later and it's getting better. While I think external streaming solutions are almost always better (Apple TV, Chromecast, Firestick, etc...) the streaming apps seem to work fine. In short, if you're looking to game, get this TV (or the LG is you are ok with a bit of color compression) -- and for home cinema, go with a Sony or LG.

PRO's: It's an affordable OLED (65 inch) in comparison to the industry leaders, uses same screen as LG. Looks good/sleek where it counts, Nice attractive profile (frontal view)...plasticky at the back.
CON's: Loads and loads, and loads of software issues. Everything goes awry, intermittent loss of sound (literally no sound coming out), disconnecting google assistant, picture issues during gaming - all of these shocking, irritating issues on a brand new TV over $1k, solved simply by resetting TV (a selectable on the menu) - still very annoying and should be embarrassing to Vizio. Ships with wrong, but still usable power cable.
Decision was this TV vs LG CX. Chose this one for its price and Google/Airplay, plus it has true next gen gaming capability unlike the LG.
Good TV, software is substandard compared to premium TV's. Nothing tragic, easily fixed with a press of a button - just irritating. It's the 1st generation, and Vizio most likely debugging.
I have mine in my home office/gym, so excellent price point. I wouldn't have this 1st gen in my main living space. It's an amazing choice depending on the use.

After researching OLED TV's I narrowed my choices down to the 65" LG CX and the 65" Vizio H1. Most reviews for both products were favorable and were comparable in most catagories of performance. I am NOT a videophile, but I did want the best bang for the buck in terms of picture quality. I am not a gamer, so I have no plans to connect a Playstation or XBox to the TV. Having said that, having 2.1 HDMI capability was a plus as you never know. The deciding factor for me was price. at 400.00 less money, the Vizio seemed like a sensible choice. There is no manual (there is online) so set-up is an ongoing process for me. I have a ROKU box with 4k HDR (the 2020 model that allows Dolby Vision) and the picture is great. I highly recommend at least a soundbar as the tv's audio is not great.

Honestly, I want to love this TV. I think it really has so much value going for it, but the software experience has left so much to be desired. The are a laundry list of bugs over on the AVS Forums and Reddit, so you can check those out for more detail. I just want a TV that works. Right now, I run into issues with it powering on the first time I press the power button. It'll flash, the power indicator will blink, and then shut off. Turning it on a second time works fine. I've had a lot of handshake issues with eARC as well, and trouble with getting the correct audio signals to come through. SmartCast has its own set of issues, but the most jarring to me is when you pause a video using the built-in apps, the audio doesn't pause right away, so causes lip sync issues when resuming play.
With that, the display is phenomenal. Colors, contrast, brightness levels - all of it is stellar for the price. But the software issues make it difficult to enjoy that. If you can be patient and wait for Vizio to work out some of the kinks (hopefully not wishful thinking), then I think this is still a decent buy. It is their first foray into OLED, after all. If not, definitely look elsewhere. I have until January to return mine, and these issues aren't sorted by then, I'll be doing so.

Beautiful picture but the glitches are frustrating

When this TV is on and working, WOW, it's beautiful. Almost unrealistically real if that makes sense. During an NFL game you can read lips and see every blemish of a player's face when he's shown and has his helmet on. Beyond that the TV is frustrating. Just to be clear, I also have a Vizio SB36512-F6C-RB, which is also awesome when working and the newest Nvidia Shield Pro with the 4k upscale.
After purchasing this TV my old soundbar was giving me some issues but I figured it was 10 years old so I could upgrade it. So I went with the Vizio soundbar thinking like brands would give me less compatibility issues. I was able to get the 4k HDR picture working then. But the frustration comes when turning the TV on. No sound will play, what we've done is switch inputs and switch them back and then it's like it "wakes the soundbar up" to start playing sound, which before we go through this process, CEC does turn the soundbar on, at least all the normal lights are indicating it's on. However I don't know if this is a problem with the soundbar or TV (again with like brands, I was hoping they would all work together great). Also a couple of times I've had where the TV just displays snow on the screen no matter which input except for the apps built into the TV (which I have no interest in using) but unplugging it from power and plugging it back in fixed it. But the most frustrating thing has come over the last month and that is if the TV shuts off, it won't turn back on. The power light comes on but there's never any picture. The only way I've found to fix this is to unplug the TV from power and plug it back in. For me this totally sucks since the plugin for the TV is not in the most convenient place.
Would I recommend this TV to anyone? It depends on who they are. If they just want it to work, no, skip this TV. Spend the extra money on a LG or Sony OLED or even Samsung QLED (which from what I've read has great reviews) and enjoy the picture everytime you turn it on. If you're a "wannabe" videophile or soundphile on a budget, like me, this is a great setup. For less than $2,500 I have a beautiful looking and sounding setup which has 4k HDR and Dolby Atmos from Vizio. And if you look around a similar setup from a more reputable brand would probably be double the price or at least $1,000 more.
Also I'm going to add this. My previous setup was a 55" Vizio TV purchased in about 2011 with a very good (at the time) Sony 2.1 soundbar purchased at the same time, with an Nvidia shield pro 2017 model maybe and a logitech harmony remote. My only complaint with that system was that the soundbar would shut off after a while when no sound was playing (like if you paused something for an extended period of time), which the Logitech remote didn't know and would throw everything off. However this TV has CEC and HDMI eARC which I don't fully understand. What's nice is any of the remotes (TV, Soundbar or shield) control any of the devices through CEC but I would prefer to go back to the days of individual remotes that only controlled their devices and getting a universal remote and programming it to work with your setup.
But on a positive note, I don't think the TV is bad hardware wise, I think it's crappy software, which to be fair, I read that when I purchased this TV and there was no promise on when it would be a full functioning TV. I guess I just thought after a year Vizio would've figured this out. But after doing some further reading the soundbar I purchased was the same way and took multiple years of issues and firmware upgrades to fix it, if it ever got fixed.
I'm going to end this review with this. You get what you pay for. Vizio is a more budget friendly TV. From my understanding is the display panel comes from LG but when it comes to fixing issues because they charge less for their products, they might not have the resources available to fix their products in a timely fashion.
