I never write reviews but feel compelled to given the amount of time I put in to deciding on a tv. I want to give researchers an honest review. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews prior to purchasing this tv. The first tv that was delivered had severe led separation and light bleed which looked like someone was pressing on the bottom of the screen creating white halos on every picture. I returned it to BB and set up a time to have another delivered. The second one was fine for about 10 days. One evening a green line appeared down the left side of the screen and all but the hdmi 5 port quit working. I had the geek squad come out to take a look. They actually recommended that I do not get a third tv delivered. The tech stated that he had 4 calls in the last 3 weeks for this same model. They recommended a Sony 950 instead which I got however it's a 65" instead of 70" for the same price. I will admit that I was sold on this Vizio obviously for the price but the fact that it is the only 4K tv that supposedly has an actual 240hz panel. Note that True 4K is only on 1 of the 5 hdmi ports. I must admit that the picture quality was very very good. I thought the tablet was nice and easy to use. Setting up the picture was very easy as well. It was very easy to get rid of the soap opera effect which I find very annoying. I would have given this 5 stars had I not had to return 2 tv's in 12 days. I suppose it's the risk you take when you pay $1700 for a 70" tv. If you decide to get this tv make sure you get the geek squad protection plan. I really wish I could have got one that worked but I don't want to deal with returning tv's.

I got this TV on black Friday on an open box sale. The sticker said the tablet remote was missing. So I got it for 1400. When I got it home and set it up the remote was in the box. What a great deal on a great TV. The picture is amazing. Very easy to use and setup.

TV looks great, has a great picture, and the streaming features are awesome from other smart devices. But the problem is the backlight slowly fails and after 3 months it is super noticeable. No big deal, they have a great replacement program and i had another tv within a week. They switched it out in my house, put it back on the tv mount and everything. 3 months later, backlight issues again but this time there are no more replacements unless you purchased the extended warranty. Replacements are only warrantied for 90 days, funny how it was just after this time that the 2nd tv backlight fails. Check out the photo. For an $1800 television, you would expect more.

I purchased this TV for 1 reason and 1 reason only. To connect my new Xbox One S and play Ultra HD movies. To my surprise the TV did not support HDR10 out of the box (unlike the best buy rep advised). Luckliy the firmware update to enable HDR10 was already released. I updated the firmware and was anxious to watch my first Ultra HD movie. About 10 minutes into the movie the TV would go to a black screen (audio still playing in the background) and then come back to the picture. If happened again a few more times. I wanted to make sure it was not an isolated issues so I watched ATT uverse, HBO Go, and Netflix. I did not get the black screen but actually got the white snow screen (the kind you see in best buy when a tv is not receiving a good feed) I checked the HDMI cables (used the one that came with the TV and then the one that came with the xbox one s). I tried all 5 HDMI ports. I enabled the feature on ports 1 and 5 to allow HDR play back. I have tried everything Vizio and Microsoft have suggested. I am still having the same issues. I just think its crazy you pay this much for a TV and not able to enjoy it right out the box. I will be returning the TV as soon as I can get someone help me package it back in the box and load it in my truck.

I specifically needed a 70" for my outdoor living space. I compared it to the 70" Samsung and was shocked how much nicer this picture is. Only down fall is the remote doesn't alway work but it came with a Droid tablet so we just use that.

This is a nice TV, but your have to make some adjustments to get a good picture. The presets aren't very good. The sound on the TV is horrendous. You def need a soundbar or surround sound system of some sort.

I have had this M70-D3 for a month, but have been in Europe for two weeks. The colors are not just wrong, they were WAY wrong from startup - right out of the box. Connecting the tablet via Bluetooth is difficult. (weak signal even when touching the corner of the screen per instruction). Maintaining the Bluetooth connection is impossible. You have to do the connection dance EVERY time you power up. Then getting the Vizio "World Class Service" technician scheduled is a mindless exercise in futility. Your life will revolve around their way of thinking. Lets all "assume" that YOU have no idea what you are talking about as you analyze the problem. You will be vetted for ignorance and then jump through many hoops. You will talk to no less than 6 different people. You will get multiple case numbers. You will take pictures and scan receipts ... it will take DAYS. The baseline assumption is that you set it up incorrectly. Every person you talk to will eventually try to walk you through the idiots tests ... again. Eventually they said "You need a new motherboard". No kidding Sherlock! Fine. I will be in Europe between dates X and Y. Schedule it anytime after date Y. What do they do? Robo-call me while I am in Europe to schedule it while I am away. I tell them to email me a date after date Y. Nothing. I call back Tim in Georgia twice. Nothing. World Class Service, eh? Their marking people are smoking something because right now I am really, REALLY ticked off. At some point, I am going to drag this piece of junk back to Best Buy and throw it into their lobby. I have been more than reasonable and the CC company will back me up after my very reasonable attempts. If the unit has a problem, then YOU have a problem. I hope you have nothing else to do with your life for a few days ... or weeks. At this time, I have no no communication and no resolution.

    Avoid Vizio TV

I was looking for a TV 70" or bigger that was not going to break the bank. I normally go with Samsung or Sony, even have a couple of Sharp TVs with no issues to date. At the price point I was looking for and after reading quite a few reviews, I decided to go with Vizio and purchased the M70-D3 on Aug 16, 2016 and it arrived on Aug 19, 2016. This TV was for my basement and rarely gets used. Basically its for movie nights or when we have guest over for sporting events. So almost 3 months of barely being used, yesterday (Nov 13, 2016) the left side of the screen stopped working. Even when I disconnect all the inputs the left side still doesn't work. I called Vizio and they made the determination its defective. I was told I would be getting a replacement TV. However, they are going to replace it with a refurbished, or how they call it "recertified" TV. I don't get why if I bought a new TV that turns out to be defective you are going to replace it with an used TV. How do I know this used TV will not give me additional problems as I have no record of how and where it was used? I don't get it. Lesson learned. This is the last Vizio product I buy and highly recommend you avoid it as well. I'll be sticking with Samsung. Looking at consumer affairs, this is common. Those were the reviews I should've read, not the reviews from the retail stores.

I really tried to love this TV

First off the Good : -Great Size , since allot of manufactures are either going 65 or 75 this is a great price point and size for a medium to larger living room -The look of the TV is pretty sexy with those nice metal modern legs -Speakers on this unit are very good , was watching 13 hours and the wife yelled at me 3 times to lower it and it was barely on 48. My surround sound isn't hooked up yet so imagine when it is lol -Very uniformed screen . When you have a solid white screen on its white . No dark spots etc . -Dolby Vision . Although not allot of content good feature to have . -Allot of ports both HDMI and USB Ok Now the Bad .... -No HDR10 , this means that if you have a UHD player and buy UHD movie it will not play in HDR . Sad really because most of the HDR content out now is HDR10( both streaming and UHD Discs ) Dolby Vision has about 35 titles on VUDU and that's it . Vizio has promised a HDR10 update in August but sometimes these things can drag . -The tablet and remotes are horrible and will frustrate you beyond belief . First off the tablet loses signal like crazy . It looses connection every few minutes. Not good when that's your main remote . ( I have very high speed internet at home so before you ask it's not my connection ) When it does stay on for more than 5 minutes the casting is a pain . If your a "casting pro" then you might be used to this but for the average person it's frustrating . You can't just tell your TV with a remote " play Netflix" .... You have to turn on tablet , sync , then press play on your tablet just to produce an image on your screen . I'm a one remote do it all kind of guy . I was litteraly sitting there with the tablet , my cable remote and the little basic remote in my hand lol Plus how many times have you dropped OR your kids dropped the TV remote ? Allot right ... Well imagine this being a tablet ... Allot of broken tablet remotes out there . Not good . Some might see " just use your phone and download the app" ... Ok that could work for me , but what about my wife who's not a techie . How's that going to work for her ? -I don't like the delay when switching TV settings ... It's not bad but annoying -If you never owned a Vizio prepare yourself . Their panels do not pop with brightness ....so to most ( including myself ) these panels look washed out and dull . I think since it's a FALD display the contrast is great but at then same time for a average living room most family members would say wow that screen looks bad or as my wife said " it looks like it's about to give out " lol Bottom Line : I tried to love this TV but with the horrible remotes and bad interface this is what has ultimately pushed me to give it 2 stars . The screen is Average , nothing wowed me . Upscaler is not the best . 1080i cable content looked average . 4K looked 4K. But nothing that stood out . The colors even with pro settings and just messing with settings didn't give me a sense of wow this TV is a keeper . I will sadly be returning if or a Samsung 70' KU6300. I get that delivered on the 29th so head over there to read my personal review and opinions on that TV. Thanks ! Oh and I know there's allot of wayyyyy better options at these price points but the wife just dropped a couple grand on that media hutch and since we are coming from a 70' she wants to stay at at a 70' . She wants the TV to fill out the hutch and doesn't want any gaps . It's purely aesthetics with her . I explained quality vs. quantity but I will never win with her lol

Read review after review, and watched video after video. Saw good reviews and bad. Main bad reviews were in regards to screen failures. Not against the visual performance. I realize that a screen failure could be classified as bad visual performance, but that falls under manufacturing/production quality for this review. In short, it was decided that this tv offered the best of everything across the board aside from the reports of screen failures. With that, nothing in its class (back lit/zone lighting) was even close to its price. And considering that after the 5 year extended warranty, it was still $500 (or more) cheaper than the next closer tv (with less features and worse visual reviews). Not saying everyone will see the world the way we did... but we've had the tv since July 2017 and Love it!!!!!!!

This may be a book, but goes into all detail, because I was like you, questioning Vizio Mseries and whether or not it would be a good TV -First off, I read, read and read reviews. I read them on here, rting, cnet, and other sites. I avoided listening to sales people, they will automatically take you out of a Vizio and talk you into a $600 more expensive TV. This TV beats out the competitor, Samsung (UN70KU6300FXZA) The Samsung scores much lower in many categorizes than this vizio, such as Judder, HDR quality, brightness, gaming/sports quality, etc. If you want top of the line, A+ across the board, than I suggest you spend another $1000. -Honestly, most of the negative reviews has to do with the smartcast, I dont know why though, maybe its because Ive grown up with technology my whole life, but it is really simple to use. Maybe the people purchasing this are not used to streaming and Bluetooth technology. It does take a second to get used to and how to work the tablet, connecting it to the TV and then 'casting' from the tablet to the TV. The tablet immediately has to update, that takes about 1hr. The remote that comes with the TV is sufficient for changing inputs, volume, etc. Honestly, no one uses the regular remote anymore anyways, you use the one your cable provider gives you. -Also, people complained that it does not have a built in TV receiver. Lets take a step back, I am pretty sure that if you are about to spend $1900 on a TV, you probably are not buying it so you can watch channels 3, 5 and 8 You probably have cable or stream TV. So that argument is irrelevant. I'll be streaming TV with play station Vue for live tv -My only issues (thus far) with the Vizio is the sound, horrible. Will be purchasing a 5.1 (minimal) sound bar system. Sound is suffice if just regular watching TV, but if you having a party and watching a sports game, forget, you'll never hear it. -Mine is wall mounted, very light, easy to mount. -Plenty of ports, though USB is 2.0, kind of a bummer, but 1-4 HDMI are UHD HD and HDMI 5 for HDR (my xbox 1s will use that port) -The Ethernet port (LAN) is really nice, directly tied to router for best internet speed, no issues streaming. -Make sure to read on how to properly adjust settings, picture quality to avoid any chance of the 'soap opera effect' It takes sometime, but its worth it, you can find it on Rtings.com. ***Overall, this is the best TV for $2000, I snagged mine for $1700 (on sale) with free delivery. Picture quality is amazing, 4K amazing, judder is non-existent, sound is poor, plenty of ports, sleek looking, cool tablet for watching shows, youtube, surfing internet. 70" really is the tipping point on expensive Tvs, a 75-78" will run you about another $1000 easily TV on review sites gives it an average of 7.8/10 (that is really high) This is rated higher than these competitors in same category: Samsung KU6300 (same price) Sony X850D (much more expensive) LG UH8500 (ties) (much more expensive) Yes, I would recommend this, feel free to ask questions.

I purchased this TV July 2016. In September I purchased the geek squad calibration because I noticed some issues. I also purchased the 5 year Geek Squad extended warranty. Today Geek Squad come out to look at the dark verticle areas I have been seeing and shown in the picture In this post. After a bit they determined it was something they called DeLamination and give me a return exchange number. Of course being Black Friday and on sale they don't have any at my store so I will have to wait to exchange. Its hard to review the picture since mine hasn't been that great but overall I love the tv. I will be exchanging for another M70 but have the option to get a different brand. I like the tablet and its features. Casting is very easy and I also have added a AVR app to control my Denon receiver. Know you can also put the smartcast app on your phone and use instead of using the tablet if you choose. I am hoping that after the exchange I receive the good picture that everyone else is seeing. I have called Vizio customer support a couple times with questions concerning the tablet and its been excellent.

The tablet remote is unnecessary but purely evaluating the displays image quality, built in sound, connections and design its the best 70 inch option anywhere near its price. Ive always bought Samsung and still feel they make amazing TV's but in the store and after getting it home i cant tell any difference between the Vizio and my 70 in Samsung which was 2x the price 12 months ago. They should offer it for $100 less w/o the android smartcast tablet remote - used it for 5 minutes and see no point to power a tablet to access a highly confusing application just to turn on your TV when it has a standard remote and the app is available for free on all common smart phones. Remote aside still amazing value for a 70in 4k LED that has a free high tech drink coaster / tablet. Image adjusts well in bright or dark rooms Displays black without any distortion Built in sound is sufficient for a quiet room. I ran it to a bose surround sound but unless I have people over i use the built in speakers Nearly now frame and only weighing 63 lbs I was able to wall mount it myself - regretted it but was able to. I always say it as a second tier brand but unless this has major technical issues I don't see myself considering anything else next time. Would have paid 20% more without hesitation

I have had this for a few Months now and really like it. It cost $1000 less than anything else on the market with 4K & HDR. I have been streaming 4K content from Netflix and YouTube. Everything looks great. It does not have a tuner so no over the air broadcasts. You really don't need it, as most folks have cable or satellite boxes along with DVD Players. and other sources. The included remote tablet is a bit tricky to set up as you need to pair it with the monitor. It may take a few attempts. I only use the tablet to launch streaming content, otherwise I just use my cable remote. You can also pair it with your smartphone or tablet. I paired it with my iPhone 6 with no issues. I am a big Samsung TV fan, but to get a 70 inch Samsung with 4K & HDR would have cost nearly twice as much. This is a great deal.

Bought this T.V. shortly after release and have been very happy. I was torn between this and a Sony but chose this because of the features for the price including support for Dolby Vision. I was apprehensive about the lack of built in tuner but have found it is not missed as we stream or use a 4k player for most of our viewing content. It took awhile to get it calibrated for the space but it was so worth it. Picture from all content from dvd to 4k blu ray, streaming and gaming is amazing. Love the built in Vizio version of Chromecast but wish it supported Amazon Video. I guess that's another reason to have a Xbox or streaming capable 4k player.

Bought this to replace a Samsung plasma and i really am liking it. I use it for streaming Netflix/Hulu, some cable watching and gaming with an Xbox One S and this supports HDR10 (through 1 or 2 of the HDMI inputs) which is what that system requires. It should be noted that this is a monitor without the ability to hook up an antenna directly but those with cable or satellite have nothing to worry about in that regard. I personally like the android based tablet remote but it may not be for everyone and a very basic one is included also. The built in Chromecast is nice and from what I have read it appears to be the ultra version that streams in 4K.

I've never owned a Visio TV before, but the outstanding reviews for this TV sold it. The Best Buy we visited only had one in the box. We didn't even see the tv in action before we bought it. The good : Great TV, sharp picture, excellent color, backlight array prevents a lot of bleed through found on more expensive tvs and gives about the best variation of blacks you're going to find on an LED. That said, it's still not a Plasma or OLED. The bad: Sound is not equalized for the frequency ranges of the movies we like to watch. (Too much mid range) It's has plenty of volume but not much in the higher and lower frequencies. I would recommend a sound bar or surround sound system with this tv if you plan to use it for movies. The ugly: The remote. Plain and simple. The tv comes with a tablet loaded with Vcast which is overly complicated and not well layers out. It took us an hour to figure out how to change the tvs inputs. If you like to use a tablet or phone to control your TV you'll love this set. I downloaded the iPad app and use it to turn the TV on and off, but I use the Apple TV for everything else. It does come with a very simple remote that you can use, but you can't use it to ajust settings. One nice thing about this TV is that it does actually have buttons on the left rear that you can use if either remote dies. Verdict: Despite the remote I would buy this TV again without hesitation. I have a surround sound system and the simple remote is sufficient for most things. The picture simply sells this set hands down

I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews but I decided to give this display a shot and have been so happy with it. Everyone that comes over says how beautiful the picture is. Pros: -beautiful picture, especially using Netflix 4K service (must purchase subscription, not included) -built in casting, super easy once set up. -remote is stylish tablet (roughly the size of an iPhone 6 Plus) that can be used to surf web or second screen Cons: -full menu only available through the app/remote not available using buttons on tv (any smart device can be a remote though) -speakers are inadequate for a display this size (if you love your audio, get a Bose Cinemate 2 or other external speakers and sub) -requires patience during set up (I like to think of myself as a tech guy, and this was easy for me, my 65 year old mom struggled setting hers up) Overall it is a fantastic display, and if you get it wired into your home it becomes your go to way of sharing media inside your home. Gaming looks great, movies feel like your in the theater and the look of the display itself is razed thin with a slim border. This is the missing piece to your entertainment center.

After 2 faulty Vizio P65, glad I switched to the M70. It is barely a drop in PQ from the P, only downside is only 1 port accepts full 4K at 60fps, which also doubles as the ARC port. Even though its advertised as HDR, this is still an emerging technology so I decided to go for the larger size and not a smaller/more expensive Sony with better HDR, in the end size trumps, perfectly dark blacks with full array, only con is the reflective screen, so this is for darker rooms or basements. Overall great TV for the price. Nobody ever regrets going big.

I would recommend this to a friend
