Customers consistently note the E-Series 70" Class TV's excellent picture quality and affordable price. Many are first-time owners of such a large screen TV and are very pleased. Setup is easy, and the smart TV features make streaming movies simple. While the remote control is small and the TV is heavy, these drawbacks are minor compared to the pros.

TV had great picture and worked fine until about 13.5 months of owning. LEDs started to go out randomly. The LEDs going out really did not bother us since they are so small and there were only about 10-15 spots on the TV this occurred. What really upset me is that at about 13.5 months of having the TV a "dark" spot about 8" in diameter appeared. This is not a burn mark and we have multiple TVs so we do not use this on all the time (Maybe 8-10 hours every 7 days) Since the TV went out of warranty at 12 months VIZIO declined to help. I am guessing if I got the geek squad protection I would have been taken care of. This will be the last VIZIO product I buy.

Prior to purchase, I examined a number of brand-name units. Clearly, the Vizio E-Series was the best combination of price, size and features. The only question was whether it would deliver on its promise. It does! I've owned Vizio before and have always been pleased. This model is no exception.
Only negatives: The acceptable viewing angle is less than other brands of this size; beyond about 30 degrees from straight on, the picture begins to wash out. But this is typically not an issue in most viewing situations. Also, the sound is not great, but again, this is not a serious issue because in most cases a 70-inch unit will be paired with some type of dedicated sound system. Speaking of sound, here is an example of a sensational feature: The line-out for sound contains a setting for 'variable,' which allows you to control the volume of an external sound system with the TV remote control! This is an unbelievably wonderful feature, and rare among television sets.
Experts advise that you should always go with size. In other words, you should purchase the largest unit that your budget will allow. This television is the absolute answer to that approach. The size per cost ratio cannot be beaten, and the overall quality is excellent... all in all, a tremendous value!

I was looking for a solid 60" because I have a small living room. This 70" was priced at what most 60" sell for. It was the only tv that I actually liked without tweaking at the store. I decided to go for it and all I can say is HUGE. I hung it up #noregrets Everyone comments on it saying its like a theater. I agree and since I plop myself in front of it for a solid 1hr a day and more on weekends, I want to make sure I get a theater like experience. Why the F not. All the ports in the back make hooking it up easy. I run the digital audio out directly to my receiver and it sounds great. I highly recommend this.
I upgraded from an 8 yr old LG plasma with no widgets and had 720p. Best purchase I've made in a long time.
PS the remote has a full qwerty keyboard on the back. Need I say more

Overall what a good deal. The size is the main reason I bought it. Had a 60 inch Vizio, almost exactly the same although from reviews this is better picture quality aside from ten inches is a big difference.
Main mistake people seem to make (me included exchanged the 60) is not going with the biggest tv you can get!
What I'm saying about the internet being a little slow is pretty much the same with other smart tvs, and its actually fine, if you want to make it faster buy a roku to go with it.
The sound is pretty good for flat panels, but a sound bar is a great help to add later on.
Very happy with this purchase! Just got it, hoping to wall mount eventually.

The TV was easy to setup, and instantly integrated with my Verizon Fios remote. Setup of WiFi was made easier with the QWERTY keyboard remote. After setting up WiFi I plugged in Ethernet cable, and it instantly switched off WiFi.
Picture quality and sound is good. Although this is a "Smart" TV, the USB connection will play pictures/music, but not movie files like my Smart BlueRay player will.

For the size and price this TV can't be beat. Good smart TV interface, lots of inputs. Cool remote. After some tweaking the picture is great. You have to play around with the settings to get it the way you like. Only thing I can think negative is sometimes letters/words/logos seem to shake, especially during commercials. Very annoying, but this isn't a $3000 Samsung so you can't expect it to be perfect. I will say if you pop in a Blu-ray the picture and movie watching are amazing. The massive size of this thing can't be beat, and make no mistake this baby is a beast. If you want a big boy TV without taking out a loan, this is it.

This is a fantastic TV it has great picture quality and it also is loud enough that you shouldn't have to purchase a sound system (unless you want a deep and rich sound with it). The TV itself was easy to set up and took only 5 minutes to do which is great for me. The only downside to the tv is the internet connectivity issue. It sometimes crashes while running pandora or netflix but I can live with that. Overall it is worth the money to purchase this TV

We purchased this TV with a price match from Sam's Club. It was an excellent buy for the price. The picture is very clear & the smart TV aspects are excellent. I would recommend considering this TV if you are looking for a big picture especially to watch on game night.

I really like this tv. At first you may think the size is to big but it's not. After getting it and getting used to it you may find yourself wondering if you should go bigger. It makes you wonder why you were considering a 55" for a little bit cheaper price. It connects to all features flawlessly. Netflix has frozen on me once. The remote also has a keyboard on the back which makes it easier to type. You do have to point the remote towards the bottom left of the tv. The tv volume is pretty good by itself without a surround sound. I have one but its not needed. The tv is heavy when in the box and is a two person job trying to get it in the door. I haven't had any problems other reviewers are complaining about and bought the extended warrany just in case. Give this tv a try. You can always return it if you don't like it that much. Just because your reading this means your considering it. Enjoy.

Great size and design. I only really have 2 complaints:
1. Sound is pretty bad. I recently had to purchase surround sound as I was catching myself having to turn the volume up more than I should just to be able to comprehend certain voices/tones. This may partially be due to the 20+ ft ceiling above the TV
2. Picture quality is "OK". Some scenes look spectacular while others can look pretty bad. I came from a 50" LG plasma which looked really good and had much better blacks. Given the LG is about 5 years old now I was expecting a bit more from the Vizio.

I got this tv for a family room that was remodeled. I use to work at a movie theater and loved the experience of watching movies on a large screen. I wanted to bring a little of that movie magic home with me. I had been looking for 60"+ televisions for a while but forced myself to wait until I actually finished remodeling the room it would be going into. I'm glad I waited. For a tv above 60", this is the best price I could find for a brand that I trust. The set up was easy once you had a person to help move it and my experience has been great so far. Movies and video games look excellent. My only gripe would be the sound from the tv speaker. It definitely helps to have a surround sound system.

For the picture quality be terrific, the amount of hdmi ports, the easiest setup of the TV and the price for the TV. How could anyone go wrong. In playing both the PS3 and the PS4 is almost like you in the game itself. And when you see any smaller tv's, there is no comparison.

I like this TV because doing a size vs cost analysis this is a good buy. I came from a Panasonic plasma with excellent THX certified picture quality. But that TV was twice for what I paid for this Vizio.
Good Stuff:
70 inch is a good size for watching movies and TV in HD. Tons of picture/color settings. Sounds is good too. It connects to internet via either wireless or wired both. Smart apps include all the popular apps Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime, Pandora and facebook etc. Remote is good and the keyboard on the backside definitely helps when using sites like facebook.
Bad Stuff:
Compared to the screen, its base is tiny. For that reason, this TV when touched even slightly rocks and sways like a drunk. Seriously its so bad that you think that the base would give in and your TV would crash on the floor. I am keeping my kids away from the TV until the day I cuold put it on the wall. If you are thinking about putting it on a table then please make sure you are okay with the this joke of a base.
Colors fade when TV is watched from the side. if you are off from the center of screen of anymore than 45 degrees you can notice that colors start washing out. It gets worse at you move into extremities.
Conclusion:
Only thing I am worried about this tv is the base. I am happy with everything else but just wanted to point it out anyways. As some people like to know every detail. If you like big tv and are on a budget then this is for you. It offers a big screen, smart features, tons of picture tuning options, excellent picture quality in a light package. I recommended this to my father in law and he got one as well.

We are looking for a big 70 inches TV for our family room(use it as the monitor mainly). We don't pay too much attention to the TV speakers, because it will be handled by a separate amplifier with 5 speakers. To have the function with Apple airplay is the most important factor for our selection. We looked Samsung, Sharp and Vizio, and selected Vizio, because the thin structure, work with airplay, nature color, good contrast, brightness and price. We are very happy with this TV and highly recommend it to anybody.

This is a opinion not a review I'll leave that for the experts. Ordered the tv online which was easy. The delivery was exceptional, the company did take the extra step to ensure all went accordingly. Set up was easy. This 70 inch set is amazing we are very pleased with the picture with our Direct tv service. Only additional recommendation is a sound bar which I have not purchased one yet but I'm looking at a Sonos that has 9 speakers.
I highly suggest looking at this flat screen set as an option for your next purchase just make sure your room is large enough to to fit the tv. I hung the set on the wall which was straight forward.
Side note: Don't forget the additional cost for HDMI cables and a flat screen wall mount and tv stand to hold your home theater equipment.

Was set on a Sharp and everywhere I went the Vizio was showing a better picture. Sports, movies, everything pops at you. I can always find a down side to any electronic I purchase but after a month I have yet to find one here. At the last second I decided on the Vizio and saved a $1000 over what I thought was my first choice...VERY PLEASED.....Just have a helper to pick it up....Added a Samsung sound bar with remote bluetooth subwoofer.....Sounds great....Get a digital optical cable if getting a sound bar
