Great baby monitor ! I work from home and this was an incredible finding . I can be at meetings feeling very confident that my girl is sleeping in her room. Clear picture and I also can watch her from my iPad. A lot of features.

This camera is significantly worse compared to its predecessor. We had the 1 camera Vtech unit from a previous generation and it worked great. It had great picture quality and no connection issues. The 2 camera set up has been horrible. It loses connection in the middle of the night and we have to go into our child’s room to reset the camera constantly. Also, the “direct” connection feature doesn’t work. I can be right outside of the room and the parent unit won’t connect to the camera. Waste of money and would advise anyone to look at a different product.

The V-Tech 2 Baby Monitors are a very nice choice in my opinion. There is a bit of a learning curve with the set up and use of them. Also, the directions could be better for instance to connect the main unit with the screen it tells you to scan a QR code on it with your phone in the V-Tech app. However, I had to figure out how to find the QR Code by navigating through the menu and finding it. Usually the QR codes are printed on the outside of the unit like on the back or on something with a screen they automatically pop up during set up in the app. Not a huge deal but it could be executed better for ease of use. Other than that set up was pretty straight forward and I was able to easily get things connected once I figured out where the QR Code was. Moving on to the features of the V-Tech 2 I feel like the app is easy to use and it does let you do the same things the base unit with the screen does. The cameras are pan and tilt cameras so you can pan up down and right to left in the app or using the four way navigation buttons on the base unit. I really like this feature and it works well. Another thing I noticed with the cameras was that the zoom while somewhat limited works very well and does not get blurry like some cameras I have used. You can also take pictures and videos on demand plus you can talk through the mic on demand as well. Then there is the motion detection feature that records short clips. My complaints regarding this are that there is no slider showing the progress, no landscape view and no volume control on screen in the app. I do like that you can fine tune the temperature detection and the motion sensitivity in the app. However, I would like to see the ability to adjust mic sensitivity. The V-tech 2 also has a list of 6 lullabies called melodies and fiver soothing sounds. There is white noise, crickets, birds, stream and one called shh shh which sounded very strange to me and not something I would recommend. The other sounds were okay. Next up is the night light feature. The night light feature is really cool and lets you pick from an array of preset colors or create your own and it looks great. I will say though it does not seem very bright to me. I do not think it is effective on any color besides white but white is always brighter on led bulbs. I wish it could get brighter because you can always turn it down. Also, on the base unit I wish the buttons would light up because I turn the volume up at night and have a hard time finding the volume buttons on it. I also noticed that the camera mic will cause an echo on the base unit if it is to close to a camera. Also, when using my phone with a Bluetooth headset I was wanting more volume and mic sensitivity which is why I would like to see a mic sensitivity slider. It would be a great way to adjust for the distance of the camera from your baby. Overall, I am very pleased with the V-Tech 2 Baby Monitors. Once set up they juist work but some added fine tuning capabilities would be appreciated. Especially since they are made to monitor something as sensitive as babies. I would definitely recommend them though to anyone looking at baby monitors. V-Tech did a good job!

We have a very small 1300 sq ft home and the cameras will not say attached to the video monitor. It constantly disconnects and is a pain to get working again. The phone app works great, but the video monitor is basically useless.

    A Parenting Peace of Mind

Before I opened the box, I had several security cameras and I thought they were good enough. After a few days with this unit, I completely changed my mind. What's in the box: 2 cameras, 5" monitor, charger, mounts with screws and drywall anchors, and Velcro strips for cable organization Installation: Easy with a small drill. I drilled 2 holes, placed the anchors, lightly hammered them in, placed the screws in with a little room to spare, hung the mounts, then screwed them tightly in, installation was very straightforward, took about 20 minutes for both cameras. The mounts have a tightening screw where you can adjust the camera angle up and down, surprisingly smooth installation. Cameras: The 2 cameras have a HD color mode when there's adequate lighting and a night mode when necessary. Cameras have adequate resolution in color, at night it can be a little choppy but adequate. I was able to pan right to left, up and down with both the app and the smart monitor. They are also equipped with a large night light that's adjustable for different colors through the smart monitor, colors seemed to be the perfect brightness for the room, seems like it would be perfect for a toddler too. There's a high zoom that you can adjust through the app or smart monitor if you need to zoom in for more detail. The smartphone monitor: This is what really sets this apart from your typical security cameras. The monitor has a 5" screen with volume and zoom adjustment. There's a menu button where you can select cameras, split the screen between both cameras, or put the cameras in patrol mode There's a nightlight that can be set to 10 different color settings, adjusted for brightness, or placed on a timer. There's a setting for melodies and soothing sounds. We tried all of them and our baby prefers to have these sounds on to go to sleep versus a quiet room. He literally fell asleep the first two times we put music or sounds on. There's also a temperature read on the monitor for each camera which is great in the summer or winter, or if you're like me and don't realize the room is gradually getting uncomfortable. You can set alerts for sounds, motion, or temperature. You can also turn the smart monitor off and still hear sounds if you want. The battery seemed to last most of the day and charged very quickly. Overall, this is just an exceptional design for new parents. Performance: Camera resolution was good, not great. I never lost connection once to my monitor or cameras. I found myself using the sounds, nightlights and basic camera functions. The resolution was good enough that I didn't use zoom often, but I can see how you might want to use it in a larger room. The smart monitor just had a ton of features. Before using this system I thought that a typical smart security camera was enough, but now I see I was missing out on a ton of features such as sounds, nightlights, and temperature. It's also nice to view from a smart monitor rather than pick up my phone and find the app. However, I did use the smartphone app from work when I was away from home and wanted to check on mother and baby and it basically lets you choose the camera, view and zoom, not much else, but it serves its general purpose. Nightlights work great and are kind of fun to play with. Camera mounts were sturdy and stable. In my opinion, these are much better than a basic security camera because of the features that you can use to monitor your child. I would highly recommend it for a baby or toddler. One of these cameras will cover an entire room so you can put one in 2 different rooms or you could put one on the crib or bassinet and the other to monitor a different part of the room once your child is moving around. I'm sure there might be an occasional glitch as you often see with most technology but I didn't have any, not one. Everything just worked here. The only slightly negative thing I could say is if the room lighting is low during the day the resolution isn't 1080 but it's more than adequate day and night. If you're considering a baby monitor, I would highly recommend this unit to all of my friends and family. I feel like they put a lot of thought into design and features. Two Thumbs up here!

Worked well for about a month, then camera #2 started disconnecting regardless of ramge from base or from router. Too bad because we loved it while it worked. Will return and grab another one, just to verify that it wasn't just poor luck for us, but I'm not optimistic.

I love the VTech baby monitor system. I don’t have much experience with baby monitors and I wasnt sure what to expect when setting these up, but I've gotta say I'm pleased with how easy it was to set up and how much this system offers. The cameras are awesome, they have a nice soft light that will be great for a night light, a clear 1080p picture quality so you can get a great view of your child, speakers with a nice sound quality so they can hear lullabies and you can hear their little voices clearly, and they are adjustable. Everything is controlled on a nice and easy to use 5" display tablet. The tablet let's you adjust the lighting on the cameras with a nice selction of night light colors (red, blue, green, orange, rainbow, etc) and brightness levels, it also gives you a nice selction of lullaby music and white noise. I love these cameras and the controller, but my only complaint is that the app for it isnt available for me to download. I tried checking the GooglePlay store and it says the VTech Baby Plus app isnt available in my region, I tried going around it by using the MyVTech Baby Pro app and it doesnt recognize the device. Im assuming it because this model of VTech Baby monitors is still fairly new. Desite this issue I love and absolutely recommend these for any new parent.

I have 3 children, one that was born just last week! My other 2 daughters are 3 years old and 2 years old. This is an important context because I have used multiple monitors in the past, ranging from Vtech, Baby Optics, Nanit, I think you can even see my current Snoo and Nanit set up in the photo as well. For the price and product you get, this is a GREAT value and GREAT quality. I was a little discouraged by all these baby products, because I understand that these companies want to sell you something, but also be economical because they know you spent alot on a baby, but if a product is 'too cheap' you may feel you are a bad parents because you didn't give it your best. So in step this little guy. This Vtech product is definitely generational above my previous Vtech baby monitor products. I like the Nanit, it has some really fancy features, but what I realize is I really don't need it. I don't need to know when the last time my baby was tended to, or sleep pattern this that etc, and then subsequently pay a subscription fee. What I need is see my baby clearly, multiple products in 1 since I'm running out of space, and reliability. This product does all of that and does it well! The first and most important thing is camera. The camera as you can see in the picture is very clear, and clearly focused. You have a radio controlled viewing monitor you can carry, that's 8 hour battery charged. I can move about the house and still watch my baby. The microphone is very clear, I can hear my baby move/cry. There is a little delay in video/audio, but all products have this delay, I can say this is the least delay I've seen compared to any of my other products. You are able to connect your phone to the camera, and using an app to control, as well as the radio controlled monitor. VERY nice, so my wife and I can share viewing / monitoring , if we both want to just use our phones and have the monitor sit by the bed, as an example. And speaking of monitor, I live in a 3 story building, and I can pick up the signal 3 floors up, very clear, visual and audio. This product also has a night light, AND white noise. It's 3 products that my wife would otherwise buy, so it's great to have it combined! It's not simply a matter of money, as white noise/night light can be had economically, but it's the fact that it's all controlled by my phone or the portable monitor, and that BOTH cameras can perform independently, night light as well as white noise. I've had this product for a while now, and the monitor battery still sits healthy at 8 hour, not sure how much it matters because it's plugged in most of the time, but it's just nice to know that the reliability of the battery is there. The signal is healthy and strong, one of the most important thing as any parent will know, is I need things to work. Middle of the night, I don't want to have to deal with latency, or static, or interruption of camera. And speaking of late night, the night vision/camera is shoulders above my previous products. Overall, I think now that I have this, I don't feel like I need any other product, I went out and bought 1 more so I have a total of 4 cameras, and yes you can link all 4 to your app. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend this product over any other baby monitors out there, the price to value you get is just unmatched.

A game changer of baby monitors

I have a granddaughter who spends time at my house. I set up a nursery on the second floor so she can nap in peace and quiet without being bothered by the television, me cooking in the kitchen, and the dog barking at people outside. A baby monitor is necessary to hear/see her when she wakes up and gets fussy. I have learned how valuable an indoor camera can be for peace of mind. My mother lives alone and has mild dementia. An indoor camera has helped to make sure she is safe without having to supervise her 24 hours a day. The Vtech model, RM5766-2HD, offers so many more options for supervising children. It is incredible how a baby monitor has advanced technologically since my children were babies. Vtech offers many, many models, so it would be advisable to do your homework and compare them so you get all the options you want in a baby monitor system. Here are the aspects I couldn’t do without: • 2 cameras for different rooms; you can name them (by room, child), see them as split screens or patrol mode (change screens every 10 seconds). • Wide-angle viewing up to 135 degrees so you can see pretty much the entire rooms. With the pan, tilt and zoom ability for both the app and parent unit, you can follow movement or see up close. • Free live remote access with NO subscription required. • Monitoring between parent unit and camera and router mode through an app on your cell phone or tablet. This access can be shared with others. • Enhanced night vision (infrared) so you can clearly see even in the dark. • Record images or video to cell or tablet via the app and share with others. • The cameras have 5 soothing sounds/lullabies and a multi-color nightlight setting on a timer. • Turn on sound activation mode and temperature (high and low) sensor and get notifications to your cell phone or tablet. • Local or remote two-way talk (comfort, reminders, etc.) • Up to 12 hours of video streaming (always know how they are behaving with a babysitter) • Ability to change volume and brightness. • Cameras are wall mountable (comes with hardware) and there is a strap to manage the cable. I highly recommend adding this to any baby registry. Grandparents will want one, too!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I absolutely LOVE this monitor so far. The picture is so unbelievably clear I can actually see my baby’s chest rise with each breath. It gives me such piece of mind. I love this one because the motion detection is spot on, picture quality is fairly decent. It doesn’t take forever to pull video up after pushing the button, almost instantly. It also blocks out white noise that otherwise would keep our old hello baby monitor on due to sound detection. Our furnace is in our sons room and when it kicks on and runs, it’s really loud. It will kick the monitor on but then drowns it out and the monitor goes back into sleep mode. The only issue I have is sometimes the monitor will be stuck in sleep mode and won’t wake up when pressing buttons. I have to manually push the reset hole on the back with a paperclip to get it to do anything. There’s been a couple nights when the monitor was frozen (glitch in my internet, not the monitor's fault) and I didn’t know it until morning so I never was aware if my son was crying or anything during the night. The app will also connect to more than just the two cameras. I have three connected on the app and it still gives me the option to add more. I will never recommend any other baby monitor to anybody ever again. A million/5 stars from me!

First few weeks, pretty good cameras. Lots of night light options. Pretty good PTZ capabilities. Long battery life of the parent unit. Now just out of the return window, on camera randomly disconnects anywhere from 5 minutes to 6 hours after turned on. I've tried various things to get it to not do that and nothing works. Would not recommend.

Monitor and cameras are of great quality. However, connecting to second camera was a significant issue. So much so, we had to contact the company for a replacement, twice. We are on our third and final set. The third set installed today, and also had trouble connecting to second camera (with second baby due any day now). If trouble persists we will switch brands. I'd recommend getting single camera vtechs. Can be grainy on night vision. Definitely blurry if you zoom in at all. Wide angle is great.

After using hand me downs and suffering the lack of battery life from older monitors my wife and I finally purcahse a new camera. The V-tech is good. It works well. The quality is meh. It does have a bit of a lag. And the wifi option is overkill. This camera has a lot of features like split screen and night light. I am happy it works 99.9% of the time. Although we have had issues connecting to the camera once isnt that bad all we did was link the camera back. No biggy. I also read a lot of negative reviews on this camera and I still took the chance and i find to have learned to like the camera.

These two cameras are amazing. Two kids rooms, so I can see both at the same time. The night light and quality of vision during the day and night works great. The two way talk is nice and the quality is even better when hooked up on WiFi..
