It couldn’t be worse. It worked ok for over a month and then randomly out of no where we received a low temperature alert. I tired everything to get the camera to stop sending 32F but the thermistor or whatever they are using is broken. The issue with that is now I’d have to send the whole unit back and pay shipping otherwise there is no warranty. The unit is only two months old. Also, without Wi-Fi there is an awful delay in the RF that is used for communications between the base unit and cameras. I’m so disappointed in this product and wish I had some kinda recourse.

I recently tested the v-tech 2-camera baby monitor and have mixed feelings about it. On the positive side, the split-screen/double live stream feature is very useful, and the speaker quality is the most impressive. I also appreciated the sound pickup and relay, as well as the color changing night lights, and soothing sounds that will help my baby fall asleep.
However, some downsides include that the motion recording was unreliable and often stopped on its own, which was frustrating. Additionally, the picture quality was pretty grainy and not as clear as I would have liked, especially the night view. Finally, the app itself could use some improvement in terms of feature settings and user-friendliness. It was unclear as to where the videos are stored and accessed once they're recorded, and when viewing, there's no time code/duration in the playback. The location of some of the settings weren't necessarily intuitive, making it a bit challenging to find where things are the first time.
I have not yet tested the range and battery life outside of my house, so I cannot speak to those aspects. Overall, I would give this baby monitor a rating of good but needing improvement.

Not saying it is a good idea to leave the baby in the house and go see the neighbors for an extended amount of time, but I went 2 houses down the road with the monitor and was still able to monitor both of the cameras and communicate. It was pushing the limits as one of the two cameras was a bit further away and took a few extra seconds to reconnect when flipped to it. Then the battery life is pretty much 12 hours on the dot with the screen on the whole time. Gets a bit annoying alerting you for the last hour if you have the notification enabled.
Straight out of the box, setup is pretty simple. Just following the on screen prompts to connect to the cameras and the same thing if you want to connect them to Wi-Fi. Which the app is the only way you can monitor without being in range and recording anything. There are a couple things I would suggest for manufacturing changes. A quick swap button for cameras, like a 1 2, and a belt clip or some way to make carrying the monitor easier. Nothing like needing both hands and wanting to bring the decently sized monitor along with you.
As for the quality of the cameras, they are pretty amazing. Full 360 degree rotation and about 110 tilt, you can see pretty much every space in a room especially with the wide angle lens. It flips between full color and night vision with any light changing. It has a temperature sensor, a soft touch LED color night light and can play music or soothing tones that would even help me go to sleep. All of those can be enabled through the display or the app. Certain notifications can be enabled, like motion detection or temperatures out of range so you can be alerted to any changes.
Overall, a nice indoor camera system, even if you are not watching your baby the whole time. This system has more to it than many others do. You can be sure to know what is going on in multiple rooms or multiple angles and sleep soundly even if you forget to plug it up for hours on end.

VTech’s video monitor system has great practical features and is a contender for those looking for a baby monitor.
VTech's system comes with 2 video cameras, a 7 inch baby monitor, and their respective power cables. The video cameras have a 1080p HD video resolution, have “night vision”, a microphone, a speaker, and an embedded color changing night light. The video monitor, while not touchscreen, does have several convenient buttons (to not have to navigate through menus to reach their respective setting), a microphone, speaker, and kickstand. One thing in particular about the video monitor is that it is large. It is definitely on the larger side and I find it barely being able to fit in my pocket (guy pockets). If you would prefer to use your cell phone to view the video camera feed, VTech also has an app called VTech Baby Plus that you can also use on your mobile device. You are able to view the cameras while away from home and control them as well.
Having owned several baby monitor systems, I have seen some features not implemented well or some lacking useful features. First off, the video monitor is clear and you are able to see a child from several feet away. Each of the video cameras has a wide angle view by default and can cover a larger area well. You are able to zoom in pretty close to see something in more detail as well (1.5 to 24x zoom). The video camera is also able to move side to side to 180 degrees, and about 45° to 55° up and down. So what does this translate to? If you put the video camera on the floor, you would be able to tilt the camera to see the face of a 6ft person from 8 feet away. As for the range of the monitor, it reached a little over 60 feet inside of my home, with multiple walls in between, before the video began freezing and stalling a lot. At about 30 feet, with multiple walls in between, I did notice it start freezing slightly.
With the light being off, the image does start to get fuzzy. If you are trying to see something that is farther away from the camera (~10 feet away) in the dark, it is harder to distinguish the object (for example, a baby’s face). To offset how poor the image looks in night mode, it does a good job of detecting motion. The video monitor can alert you (via a beeping sound) based on it sensing movement or the video camera sensing a certain temperature in the room it is in. Additionally, each video camera has an embedded light that can serve as a night light for a baby or child to be able to see the camera during the night. The light can be turned on from the monitor and also has a touch sensitive area to manually turn on or off the embedded night light.
As for the cons, I did find a couple. One relatively small con, other than the size of the baby monitor itself (basically like having another tablet and won't fit in your pocket easily!) it takes about 19 seconds for the screen/system to turn on. (I did time it :) ) Not a total biggie, but it feels like you're powering on a small laptop. Additionally, the video monitor only supports 720p video resolution while the mobile app supports the 1080p resolution advertised. Lastly, the video monitor’s charging port uses a standard round tip plug versus using a USB C type plug.
Overall, this is a great system for those looking to upgrade or buy a new baby monitoring system. With all of the features it has like an app to remotely access the cameras and temperature and movement notifications, I think it makes it a good contender against competitors.

We thought these monitors would be perfect for our two kids’ rooms, and being able to monitor through the app was an added convenience. However, the sound on the base station is very low - we can barely hear our son on it - and the connectivity is the worse! We experience so many issues with the cameras and base station keeping a connection that they are almost worthless to us. Sometimes it may only be one monitor working and the other shows offline, and sometimes they’re both offline and everything on our network is working properly (and the devices are all right next to WiFi adapters). Although they look nice and offer two cameras, this product is not worth the price.

Disappointed, doesn’t stay connected

I REALLLY wanted to love this camera. IF it would stay connected, I would love it, BUT the monitor will not stay connected to the unit. My house is 60’ long from one end to the other and the baby monitor will not connect from less than that distance and ESPECIALLY if doors are closed. It doesn’t matter if it’s direct link or WiFi. I have to pull it up on my phone in order to know it’s going to stay connected. When it searches or looses connection, it freezes up so I have to unplug the monitor and wait for it to die in order to be able to get to the menu. The screen is AMAZING, the picture (when it works) is GREAT, the night light and music are great options but it’s not reliable and it will not connect when the screen is in my room and the camera is in the baby’s room, if I bring it to the living room in the middle of the house (30’ give or take) after it dies and I get it to finally turn off and back on, it will sometimes connect. It’s very upsetting as this was not a cheap set.

This is our 2nd monitor. The first one was great. Clear day and night time pic, good connection speeds, and great battery life. The battery lasted for about 2 years before it wouldnt hold a charge any longer.
We purchased the exact same model, and now the picture clarity is garbage. The night vision is grainy and blurry. Currently in the process of starting a warranty replacement. If it wasnt for this defective unit, I would give it 5 stars.

Everything Is Bad About It

I hated everything about this. No “cry detection” so my phone was constantly getting alerts because I had it on the lowest noise detection, which also set the monitor off at night when my son wasn’t awake. Awkward attachment to the wall that looked sloppy. The microphone was poor quality and my son couldn’t understand me. The monitor is absurdly large and wouldn’t switch back and forth to day and night mode, so it was always black if I wanted to use night mode when it was dark. Doesn’t show the time on the monitor. I prefer the app of other monitors much better. Returned and went back to my cheap Amazon China monitor that’s much better in every realm.

2 months and the remote camera parts (2) get VERY hot, as does the plugs into the power on the wall. Waste of over $700.00! DO NOT BUY! Also anyone outside your home can access the camera(s) that is active.
