If you're looking for a very inexpensive, basic cordless phone with an extra handset, you've found it. BUT if you use your phone a lot and for extended calls, you should look elsewhere. I purchased this phone about two weeks ago after searching other reviews and found it to be a best buy on a well-known site. Unfortunately, I've been very disappointed with the sound quality and battery life. The battery life wasn't rated very high to begin with, but I've had to change handsets during calls and the transfer feature was not easy to understand. Also, the delay between dialing the buttons and the tone heard is quite long, which can be confusing when dialing long distance numbers or entering selections on automated systems. Overall, I would not recommend this model if you plan to use your phone often.

This phone looks really nice however it's hard to see the person on the other end and both phones can not be used at the same time.

This was a replacement phone for a similar VTech phone (2.4GHz model). This unit has clear sound, good usability features (didn't read the manual yet we can operate it). I only wish it had the same features as our older 2.4GHz phone:
- When one handset answers the call, the second
handset can "just pick up". The new unit requires
you to "transfer" the call
- No speakerphone on this unit.
Otherwise, you can't beat the performance and price.

I have to agree that this is the prime example of you get what you pay for. I purchased this phone less than 6 months ago. Within 1 month the 2nd handset would not charge nor receive calls. Also the main handset quit working last week. Wish I would have purchased the extended warranty but figured surely it would last a year. Not true, save your money and buy a better quality phone.

Great phone, Me & my wife use it regularly and no problems. Very easy to use buttons, loud ringers(adjustable of course). It could be a little louder at times however that could be due to the other end of the line, so can't really say if it's this phone or not. I cannot complain, great price, great phonecalls, works like the phone it was designed to be. A+++++

Great example of 'you get what you pay for'. Do yourself a favor and spend the additional $20 for a better phone to avoid the headaches this phone causes. I was very disappointed and surprised at the low quality.
