    EXCELLENT VALUE

REPLACED BELL SOUTH SYSTEM THAT INTERFERRED WITH HOME WIFI & MICROWAVE. HAVE USED THIS PHONE 3' FROM WIFI WITH NO DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY OF SOUND WHICH IS CRYSTAL CLEAR. I CAN HEAR THE PHONE RING FROM THE NEXT ROOM WITH TV ON AND INDIVIDUAL HAND SETS HAVE VOLUME CONTROL. I HAVE A LITTLE HEARING LOSS AND PHONE VOLUME IS PLENTY LOUD. HANDSETS HAVE A LIGHT ORANGE BACKLIGHT AND ALL KEYS CAN BE SEEN IN THE DARK WHEN IN USE. ALSO HAS A RED INDICATOR LIGHT THAT IS ON WHEN IN CRADLE. HANDSETS ARE SLIM & LITE BUT FEEL WELL CONSTRUCTED. I LIKED THE FEATURE THAT WHEN YOU PROGRAM YOUR PHONE LISTINGS INTO HANDSET #1 (EACH PHONE HAS SEPERATE #) IT AUTOMATICALLY RECORDS ALL THE LISTINGS INTO THE OTHER PHONES. THE LISTINGS ARE ALSO AUTOMATICALLY ALPHABETIZED INTO ALL PHONES. I ONLY GAVE A 4 STAR RATING FOR RANGE BECAUSE MY WORKSHOP IS ONLY 100 FEET AWAY FROM HOUSE BUT CALL QUALITY IS SAME AS IF IN THE HOME. SINCE I JUST BOUGHT THIS SYSTEM (IS NEW FROM VETCH) I CAN'T SPEAK TO THE DURABILITY, THERFORE A 4 STAR FOR HOW THE SYSTEM FEELS & LOOKS, WHICH IS BETTER THAN MY PREVIOUS SYSTEM. ALL-IN-ALL, I CAN SEE NO REASON TO SPEND $40-60 MORE ON A PANASONIC OR UNIDEN UNLESS OTHERS HAVE A MUST HAVE FEATURE. OTHER FEATURES ARE: CONFERENCE CALLING, INTERCOM, XFER CALL TO OTHER HANDSET, DIGITAL ANSWERING, REMOTE PHONE ACCESS FOR MESSAGES, SPEAKERPHONES, VOICEMAIL, CAN BE WALL MOUNTED,CALL WAITING, 4 DIFFERENT RINGTONES, AND CALLER ID. USERS MANUAL IS WELL WRITTEN AND FAIRLY EASY TO UNDERSTAND , EVEN FOR THOSE THAT ARE ELECTRONICALLY CHALLENGED. THERE ARE MANY MORE FEATURES THAT MOST CORDLESS PHONES HAVE BUT ARE TOO MANY TO LIST HERE. THE REASON THAT I TOOK THE TIME & EFFORT FOR THIS REVIEW IS THAT I WANT FEEDBACK ON PRODUCTS & APPRECIATE THOSE THAT TAKE THE TIME REPORTING ON PRODUCTS THAT I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH. GOOD LUCK AND HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS.

    Very good basic phone system

We were looking for a basic phone system to replace our 2.4 gig cordless phones which interfered with our wifi. Got this on sale, and it works as advertised. It actually looks better than the picture. The picture makes it look much more metalic and shiny than it is. This would not be a good phone for someone who is hearing impaired. The volume is loud enough otherwise. I like to put everyone's phone number into my phone. 50 listings is not enough. This seems to be common with these phone systems. Considering the cost of memory is next to nothing, I'm surprised that these phones limit you to 50 listings and 14 minutes of record time. The batteries are low capacity NiCads. I wish these phones came with NiMH batteries and intelligent fast chargers. Still, they have a pretty long life. Two other minor quibbles: You cannot label the phones with their locations, so when you use the intercom, you have to know which location has phone 1, 2, 3 or 4. Also, if you record a pause into a phone number, you do not hear what is happening at the other end until the dialing has been completed after the pauses.

    Excellent Phone

Great phone, easy to hold, nice feel, fantastic range much better than my Panasonic 5.8 ghz, over 300 feet. The speaker phone in each phone is a great feature and works so good I never hold this phone to my ear. Yes the battery is a Ni-cad but I have left it off the base for 5 days and it still worked. Talk time is over 6 hours, as for interference I have none at all and I have a wireless router and can pick up 6 of my neighbors wireless connections. I needed a phone with great range, excellent sound quality and no interference, this phone has them all. I got it on sale for $50 which made it a super buy.

    Would Not Recommend This Phone

I purchased this product, and used it for approx. one week before returning it. When I would receive calls, I could barely hear the person on the other end ! Some callers would even tell me that my voice echoed, as if I was standing in a large "empty" room. Another problem I found was that the "call-waiting" feature was extremely annoying. While on the phone, and another caller dials my number to get through - the earpiece makes a VERY LOUD and irritating sound letting me know that there is another call coming in. This sound is so loud, that I can't hear the person with whom I was having my original conversation with. The owner's manual does not show how to quiet down the annoying call-waiting feature.

I purchased this phone for the price and the features. i work from home and needed a phone with a mute, & speaker phone. I ended up taking the phone back, b/c when i would talk there was an annoying echoing. I read the manual and website to see what can be done to prevent that. After much reading, I concluded that it was interferring with my wireless router. So, if you have a wireless router, this is not the phone for you. I am sticking with what I know UNIDEN phones!

A very good system for the price. All of the features I was looking for and great sound quality (I have a wireless router too) but no problems. I put one in the bedroom, one in the kitchen, one in my office and one in my living room. I don't have to get up to answer the phone anymore. I especially like the speaker phone function on each handset so when my grandaughters call, I put them on speakerphone so their grandmother and I can both listen, works great.

Poor sound quality of Base speaker phone

The base speaker phone is cheap sounding. The whole case is vibrating when using the speaker phone and sound is not loud enough.

    Returned system to store

Does not ship with a wall mount. The base unit requires a horizontal mount with aprox. 2 1/2" pin spacing (vs 4" for standard US vertical mounts). An order with VTech in Canada resulted in an "Not Available At This Time" and "Dont Know When They Will Become Available" e-mail. Needles to say, I cancelled the order and returned the phone to the store. HWH
