    Fantastic Keyboard for a Programmer

Sure this version doesn't have RGB and all the fancy lighting, but for the price, the Titan Switches are very nice to type on. Similar to a firmer Gateron brown, they are pretty quit. The keycaps take a little getting used to, but once you do they are quite nice to type on. The software is ok, and doesn't work 100% of the time. I use multiple virtual desktops with Windows 10 and I programed the keyboard to make the swtich with CAPS-LOCK 1 and CAPS-LOCK 2. Pretty nifty. The USB cable is not braided and is rubberized. All and all, solid firm keyboard.

I thought my Razer keyboard was very good until I tried one of these. The comparably-priced Roccat Vulcans blow every other keyboard I've tried away. It’s not even close. The mechanical keys are quick to bottom, with a solid, stable feel and a quiet click. I also love the crumb-and-lint-resistant seal around the keys. The Vulcan 80 is the base model that offers keys backlit only in royal blue, and basic audio level control keys (mute, softer, louder). Stepping up to a higher numbered Vulcan model (100, 120, 121, 122) will get you more key illumination colors and customizability, additional keyboard multimedia controls, a brushed aluminum case, and for the 120s, a built-in wrist rest (none of which I miss). This is not documented in the materials that come with the keyboard, but you do NOT need to install Roccat's Swarm software to either make the keys remain always-backlit in blue (set this option by holding the FN key while pressing the F3 key) or disable blue key backlighting (hold the FN key and press the F4 key). The default key backlight pattern as shipped, which I find annoying, is a constantly moving fan pattern of on-off blue backlit keys (FN + F1) and there's one other option, a constantly moving left-right pattern of on-off blue backlit keys (FN + F2). Adjust the illumination brightness to one of ten levels from 100% down to 0% brightness using the key marked with a sun icon. Your selections are remembered after you restart your computer, a nice touch. Again, you don't need their software to make any of these changes. The keys are only illuminated when your computer is powered on. You do need to install Roccat Swarm software, downloaded from their website, to set gaming macros for the M1 - M6 keys, customize keypress sounds, or set up custom profiles for different apps or users. I did not install this software, so I can't rate it.

This is my first mechanical keyboard, I had debated between this the Vulcan 120/121 and another Corsair k70 laptop. I ended up picked my this one because it was on sale for $59, and from what I found it was functionally the same as the more expensive Vulcan. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this, so I picked this vs the Vulcan 120 to try it out. The built actually ended up being better than what I was expecting, with the middle plating still being made of what feels like aluminum instead of all plastic like I was expecting. It's more low profile than other mechanical keyboards, but it still feels nice for me to type. Haven't had too much of a chance to game with it, but I work tech support so I do a lot of typing every day. The keys still sounds nice but not so loud that it irritates or disturbs other people from extra noise so far. Overall a good experience for now, and I'm concidering updrading to the Vulcan 121 later on.

The adjustable lighting is great for daytime/nighttime use. Easy to clean keyboard with just an air can. Love the key sound and feel without being overly loud. Easy to use with the ROCCAT Swarm software. Good keyboard for beginners willing to learn how to program their gaming keyboard.

It is a sleek keyboard with very reponsive keys. My kid uses it for gaming and loves the speed of the keys. You can program the blue lights with a couple different patterns and change the sounds of the keys. My son likes the laser sounds.

I bought this for my 12 year son to use for his remote learning so he didn't have to use the laptop keyboard. I got it at a great deal of the day price of $50 and gave it a shot. He likes it because you can adjust the blue keyboard lighting to different settings based on your preferences. You can also use it as a gaming keyboard and it has very quick response when typing. I like it because it's corded so you don't deal with any lag issues that you get from wireless keyboards. Down the road, he will likely use it for gaming and it should be able to handle any game he plays. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I tried to register the product and the company requires you to enter an email address so they can send an email to verify but I never received the email and could not register the product.

    Mechanical Keyboard w/o RGB

I love this keyboard! The switches are GREAT. The travel distance and sound are exactly what I'm looking for. One of the primary reasons I bought this board is it's lack for RGB. I hate all of the flashing lights and colors that included with EVERYTHING these days. Another big plus is that you don't have to install the software unless you want to set up macros. You can change the lighting without it. FN+F1 = Lights fan from center out and then from outside to center. FN+F2 = Left to Mid then Right to Mid FN+F3 = Always On FN+F4 = Always Off There is also a key that looks like the sun that will dim the keys.

Vulcan 80 is heavy - and it is good for gaming as wont's move in the middle of the battle. Great dust-proof design and keys response. USB pass-through is missing. It's a great value if you can get it on sale.

The clacky-ness is everything you want

I'm gonna be honest: I bought this mechanical keyboard because I wanted one that had good feedback on the keys as well as a nice clacky sound when the keys were pressed. I got what I wanted and then some! This is my first mechanical keyboard and I'm not ever going to go back. I love that you can switch the keyboard noises on and off as well as control the blue light pattern (you do need to install the Roccat SWARM software and it will take you a few minutes to get used to it, but it's worth it to get the full functionality). If you're confused about how to operate this keyboard, as it doesn't come with a manual, you can search online for help and find it in seconds. This keyboard does the clacky-ness right- my fingers don't have to press hard and the noise that comes out of this thing isn't loud and obnoxious. It's like the perfect middle ground between a traditional computer keyboard and a typewriter. 5/5 would purchase again.

Pretty good keyboard. Just the one color for illumination, but gives lots of options for different patterns - I just set it to stay on a low glow all the time. Mechanical aspect is OK, doesn't have that clickety clack of classic mechanical keyboards, but has a decent feedback.

It took a while to get used to the raised keypads, but now i think i like it better. I did have one key get stuck, popped it off, put it back on and the problem was fixed. Not sure what caused it.
