I've been doing illustrations and animations by on paper up until now. At first, the pen precision seemed off but it was spot-on once I did the calibration within Wacom's app on my computer (Mac). Yes, I needed an HDMI adapter for my Mac laptop, but luckily, I already had one, so no problems there. My #1 preference in tablet would've been wireless and capable of being a stand-alone tablet, but on a budget, this is great! It doesn't react to touch, just the pen, so my palm doesn't interfere. Works just fine with Photoshop, so far. Need to test it in Illustrator & Flash. Comes with 30-day trial of Corel Painter and a free copy of Anime Studio Debut.

Works as expected but stand is flimsy

Great drawing surface that is not too smooth like the Windows Surface or Ipad but isn't so rough (like the Intuos Pro) so as to wear the nib down very quickly. No lag, but you may experience wobbly lines if you use the latest version of the tablet driver. The trick is to install an older version (you'll have to google around for the exact version number). The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the stand is very flimsy, and I do not feel comfortable leaning my Cintiq on it. Instead, I just lean my Cintiq on a thick book.

I love my Cintiq13. I'm still learning the things I can do with it. I purchased a few different software programs to use with it but use Sketchbook Pro the most. Definitely a big step above regular pen tablets.

It's a huge step up if you haven't been able to draw directly on the screen. But it's not mobile. For me, the cord lengths work perfect, I can keep it set up on my desk, or draw on the floor or couch, so long as I have a place to set my macbook off to the side. True freedom would probably be one of the higher end Cintiq tablets, but weighing the costs and new programs needed, it made sense to stick with the 13HD. You can tweak a lot, and even make your marks start to appear a little off center if your mimicking ink brush, so I find all the options I have as nice if not better than paper. I'm not sure I'm sold on the texture of the screen, it may take some time to get used to it, since it isn't like paper at all. Still, considering my old process it's a great time saver in the digital art realm. I spent almost a year debating this one product after narrowing it down, and my only regret is that now i feel like I have no excuses not to draw.

    Great pen display

I received my Wacom Cintiq 13hd pen display on time. The exterior box was a little banged up, but that had no impact whatsoever on the product within, or even on the manufacturer's box. Everything was packaged well and was easy to set up. Following the advice of the Wacom agents I had chatted with beforehand, I downloaded the drivers straight from the Wacom website, wacom.com, and I have been happy with the installation so far. I heard that the screens of the Cintiq line scratch easily, so I purchased a screen protector from Amazon. Had I not purchased the screen protector, I really can't say whether or not the screen would have suffered damage from the pen nib. As for parallax, for me it has not been a problem. I calibrated the pen with the device when I started to notice some parallax and it fixed it. When I first connected the device to my laptop, the colors were off a little on the display compared to my laptop screen, so I put those settings to a cooler color setting and it now matches my laptop screen colors. Resolution is great. I like the express keys and the buttons on the pen, though the pen buttons are very finicky. I haven't had trouble with the cable so far, but it does feel fragile around the tablet's power connector, so be careful with that. I have heard about a lot of problems with the cable becoming frayed or broken, so I've tried to be extra careful. That's just a heads up. I have used this tablet with Krita and the Corel Painter 2019 trial version and it became a little glitchy with both at first, but then I turned the computer and the tablet off and back on and it fixed it. I also had to get used to the programs, so my experience was rockier because I was new to digital art. Now it works well with both programs (and I've gotten more used to digital art). I don't like the stand. The tablet slips off of it easily. I don't even use it. Perhaps I just needed to get used to it, but I wasn't wanting to risk having my tablet slip off and break. When calibrating the pen, make sure the tablet is in the position you intend to use the tablet in. So, if you plan to have the tablet up on the stand, calibrate the pen when the tablet is on the stand. I have run into one problem with the drivers and the tablet, but it was because I did not turn the tablet off with the power button before pulling its power connector out. That caused the tablet to not correctly read the pen when I turned it on next, and it would not allow me to recalibrate the pen. I correctly turned the tablet and my laptop off and back on and then recalibrated the pen, and it has worked fine since. So, be forewarned that how you connect and disconnect the tablet and the laptop matters greatly. Take care with it. I would definitely recommend this product. I also find it important to note that this is the first tablet I have used and owned. I have never used one before. So it isn't terrible for beginners. I was going to get an Intuos, but I heard about a lot of people upgrading to Cintiqs after learning with Intuos and decided that I'd just go right to the Cintiq, save a few hundred dollars in the long run. The display helps me transition to digitizing my art, and I'm glad I chose the Cintiq over the Intuos. When I want to practice drawing without looking at the display, as I would have had to had I gotten the Intuos, I just look at my computer screen and ignore the display. A lot of people seem to get Intuos tablets first because they want that experience before allowing themselves a display, so I wanted to share my reasons for deciding to get a display first. Also, I've heard about the surfaces of the Intuos line eating pen nibs very quickly, and that influenced my decision as well. I don't know if it's true, but many reviewers have complained about that. Others claim to have fixed the problem by resurfacing their Intuos with a smoother surface. I don't have any hands on experience with the Intuos line, so I don't know for certain how good or bad the line is. It sounded good to me over all, but I ultimately chose a Cintiq 13hd. Another warning I have read about the Cintiq 13hd is that felt tip pen nibs can scratch the screen if you don't have a screen protector (because dust particles get trapped in the felt), so that's another thing to keep in mind, if you are an artist wanting to use that type of pen nib. If you get a screen protector for the Cintiq like I did, make sure that no dust particles get trapped between the protector and the tablet surface, as that, too, can damage the tablet's surface. When I applied my screen protector, I followed another reviewer's advice and lined the long edge of the screen protector up with the tablet surface (after thoroughly wiping down the tablet), and then I pulled the protective film from the adhesive side of the protector a little at a time, using the card that came with the protector to smooth it down onto the Cintiq while at the same time continuing to wipe the Cintiq as I went. It helps shelter the Cintiq from dust and if you go slowly enough, you can work the bubbles out easier. If a bubble isn't working out, then dust is there and don't try to work it out any more. Take a piece of scotch tape, pull the protector back just enough to get the bubble, and then use the tape to peel the dust off the protector. Take care not to turn the adhesive side of the protector upward, or else more dust can fall onto it and it will be useless. If you've already gotten the whole protector down, I recommend ignoring the bubbles you can't work out and trying not to pass too roughly over them, or else the dust can damage the tablet. Or just peel the protector off and get a new one. I used Boxwave, but there are a lot of other brands out there. I haven't tried them yet, but Boxwave seemed to be the best bang for the buck. The issues I had with it initially were my own fault more than Boxwave's, I think. I also purchased an artist's glove, and that improved my experience greatly. That's something to consider if you purchase a tablet of any kind, as it reduces friction between your hand and the tablet as well as prevents sweat or oil from smearing the surface. I hope my review helps.

I struggled for months to pick out the right graphic tablet for me. I did originally order a Cintiq 22HD, however due to poor research on my part. I literally researched everything other aspect about them usability/reviews/etc but I failed to realize that I didn't have the correct ports to support it (it looked amazing though! Loved the stand sooooo much. Getting a Cintiq 22HD is definitely on my future purchase wish list) I then downsized to the 13HD that does work with my computers ports and am THRILLED with the results. I'm still learning all the quick buttons, but so far it runs like a dream. The biggest (and only honestly) complaint I have is the "stand" feature that comes with this felt a little chancy to me, especially after seeing the awesomeness of the 22HD, that stand is just amazing. But this is really still a non issue for me personally as due to this size I just sit it on my laptop lap desk and draw that way. The pen came with a wonderful carrying case to secure it and all it's replacement parts (nibs/color rings). There's also a little pen holder that you can either insert the pen or lay it on top of so you don't have to worry about losing it if you take a break from your work. The pen itself is also very comfortable to hold. All in all I'm in love with this product.

The tablet it bigger then I thought it would be. It has great picture and doesn't lag a lot. It acts like a second monitor for my laptop(it has to be plugged in for it to work; it WILL NOT work by itself it has to be plugged into a computer). The pen doesn't need batteries which is excellent. However there are a lot of cables to plug in which I wasn't expecting. It takes up a USB port and the wires aren't very long so I have to use an extension cord. Also I'm left handed but the tablet is more orientated for right handed people. I haven't found a way to properly configure the tablet so it would be more comfortable to press the buttons. Other than the inconvient cords this is a perfect tablet for drawers, graphic designers or anyone who loves to do any digital art.

Ideally, I would've purchased the tablet version of this so I could do some of my work on the go, but for my budget, this works great! I might be buying the wireless components in the future to eliminate excessive cables, otherwise I'm quite satisfied. Precision pen and pressure sensitivity works well for detailed projects. It was actually easy to use my laptop screen as my second monitor for reference while working primarily with the pen display. If the pen gets off track, use the display toggle button, if that doesn't bring it back, just recalibrate the pen (takes only a few seconds if you leave the calibration window open in the background).

This is a great tool for any artist. Quick and easy, intuitive to pick up and run with. (not like actually run, because its tethered to a wall, and your laptop while its on) That said - I fully recommend this to anyone who is in a creative field.

The Cintiq 13hd has really helped me become a better graphic designer. It has really improved my art ,and how I look at digital art as a whole. This product has a fast learning curve too so you'll get used to it in a few hours or so. The graphics tablet I started with was the Huion 420 which was a great tablet to start with ;however, I wanted to get more in depth with digital art so I switched to the Cintiq. A big leap in price and performance, but it was well worth the money.
