This feature continues the original War of the Worlds story by HG Wells by speculating what would have happened after the invading Martians died, leaving their technology behind. Humans have adapted the tech in a steam-punk styled way. Enjoyable new twist. Watching in 3D was also good but not great as I noticed some visual depth of field issues at times that were distracting (to me, at least). Recommended for fans of War of the Worlds.

Beautiful background, definitely an eye catcher. Always action going on somewhere. Fast paced film that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the end. And awesome music throughout.

what if imperial walkers ran on steampower? here you can see how it might work, different than Asian anime, and i did decide that i enjoyed it.

This movie is an unofficial sequel to the original "War of the Worlds" novel by H.G. Wells. It is set in a world 15 years after the first Martian invasion of 1914. The settings and designs of this alternative history world are an imaginative mix of steampunk and early deco with soaring architecture and massive tripod battle tanks and super zeppelins. When the Martians invade again, the soldiers of A.R.E.S., an international army under the command of a buff Theodore Roosevelt, battle the invaders across a variety of landscapes and in the air. A strong action movie with interesting characters and a visionary setting. If you like steampunk, war movies and science fiction then you'll like this film. The Blu-ray is a great deal with both Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray discs for a low price. There are a lot of great "extras" on the discs.

This Blu-ray is an excellent action pick-up to add to the NEW WAVE " INVASIONS " of the 21st Century . The plot lines are as be expected , but the special effects are far better than SOME ANIMATED films of late . Besides , it's not ALL about effects here - just to be able to re-live these magical moments are a joy ! Quality of the disc is great too . Sound and picture are just great ! ( just don't watch the 3-D version if you get headaches easily ) HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to all fans of the genre !
