The Anti-Theft mount porvides a great deal of additional reassurance and protection for your Nest Wireless Outdoor Cam. This is a Google-sanctioned third-party accessory and one that they specifically recommend if your camera greater than 2m above the ground. As I am mounting it at about that height I decided to try out the anti-theft bracket. It does indeed provide additional security as it clamps down on your Cam and prevents it from being nicked or damaging itself on a long drop. I am however not gong to continue using it as this anti-theft device makes it too cumbersome for me to take down the camera to charge. If you're worried about sticky fingers this will definitely be an effective deterrence, and in installation where you can plug in and aren't relying on the wireless capability I think it would make a lot of sense -- be warned it does make it really really difficult to remove to charge when you have a battery-based installation.

Works and fits easily over the camera. Along with the anti-theft aspect, I appreciate the overhang on top to help keep rain off the camera lens. Very easy to install, only took a minute or 2. It does not block the speaker or obstruct the view in any way. Recommend for cameras that are lower to the ground and easily reached without a ladder.

The Wasserstein - Anti-Theft Mount for Google Nest Cam is an excellent accessory for your exterior mounted Google Nest Cams and really a must have to properly protect it from weather, debris, and theft. The assembly includes everything you need to complete the installation and it's relatively simple to complete. Didn't take me more than 10 minutes, start to finish. The material of the mount is solid. No concerns about the durability or integrity of the mount. It will keep water out as I have checked it following a rain storm after mounting the kit and everything was dry as expected. This is a very nice and elegant solution for the Google Nest Cam. It keeps your Cam safe and serves as a theft deterrent. I highly recommend the Wasserstein - Anti-Theft Mount for Google Nest Cam.

This device negates one of the features of the Nest Cam - The removability to charge the device. Maybe I'm missing something, but why would I want to secure this to my home (assuming outdoor application) and then require a tool to take it down to charge? Maybe other folks have less-power-hungry cams than I do, but I'm charging every other week in my busy areas so adding this chore in the name of security doesn't seem to make sense. For hard-wired applications, or areas where security is paramount to convenience, it makes sense I guess - I just don't see how there isn't some kind of key-release or something (like a laptop security cable) instead of the allen-wrench tool that is required to unscrew the tether on this. It would be a useful add for situations where takedown charging was never necessary, or pitch positioning wasn't required that the mount doesn't support. It basically locks it into a set position and wouldn't support several of my angle use cases.

I’m glad a company figured out a way to secure a Nest video camera that is mounted on the exterior of the home. I’m surprised Nest didn’t figure this out from day one but Wasserstein did. The protection the security device offers is not immune from someone who is really motivated to get the camera, but it should prevent the vast majority of attempts to try to take the camera. I believe this is well worth the extra money to protect your video surveillance investment.

Calling this an anti-theft mount is slightly misleading. I'd call it more of an anti-fall tether. The security cable is pretty thin, and any decent pair of wire cutters or tin snips could make short work of this. It's really more of a tether (remember when pager chains were a thing?) to supplement the magentic camera mount designed to prevent the camera from falling from a high mount point in the event it gets accidentally bumped. By designing it this way, using this mount eliminates the convenience of the camera design to facilitate easy removal for recharging. In my opinion, this really should just be included or packaged together with a hardwired power cable or the solar panel.

I installed this and it would keep some one from walking up and pull the camera off however would not go as far as to say it’s anti theft, even once it’s installed the camera can be removed all though it does make it more difficult. I would probably class it more as a thrift deterrent. Over all it was fairly easy to install. No real special tool are need however a power drill makes it easier. Not sure there is a product out there that would keep someone from that a camera if they really want to but this would slow them down.

I feel that this mount 100% protects from basic smash and grabs and deters a lot of people that would even consider it. might not be 100% fool proof, but looks great and makes a statement.
