I am not happy with this dashcam! it is not what I paid for, only last for few months.

Living in a major city, this camera offered everything I wanted to be able to monitor my car—motion activation, night vision, long life without draining my car battery, 360° recording, 4G cloud uploading, etc.—all at a reasonable price compared to other alternatives. I also appreciate this company being crowdfunded to deliver something that surprisingly wasn’t offered by bigger players in the market. All that said, this product has limitations. PROS: The application interface is well designed. I had a minor incident where someone backed into me and I was happy I could quickly export video footage—without having to remove the SIM card—and immediately upload it to the insurance company from my smart phone to show I wasn’t at fault. Having GPS wasn’t a feature that I was specifically looking for, but it has helped me remember where I parked my car on numerous occasions. Customer support is good. It’s apparent that the company cares about the product as they’re quick to respond to any issues. CONS: Having a 360° view from a camera mounted on the front windshield can only give you so much coverage. You’ll have a good view of the front and inside of the car, but your view of the outside back and sides is likely going to be pretty limited. I would recommend this camera to ride share drivers for monitoring passengers, but not necessarily to catch a vandal. The motion detection does not work well despite my keeping the setting on the highest sensitivity. I had a note left on my car, but there was no footage of anyone leaving it. Similarly, I can’t tell you the difference between the “bump” and “impact” settings. It all seems to be triggered at random. With the camera apparently being able to go for 15 days (according to Waylens’ website), I honestly wish there was a setting to just continuously record in set increments. 4G subscription plan is a bit weird. You’re offered a set amount of data per month. Basically use it or lose it. Fortunately, the app gives you plenty of ways to manage this and it isn’t necessarily required—you’d just lose out on some key features. The video and audio quality is good, but I recommend parking under a street light as the night vision can only do so much. Despite the solid application design, I wish some other features were customizable. The WiFi password is pretty insecure and there doesn’t seem to be a way to change it. The camera’s sounds can also be pretty annoying, especially when you’re troubleshooting a camera that keeps power cycling while you’re driving. And again—continuous recording would be a nice option. All in all, it’s a good product for the money, but don’t expect it to be a miracle device.

Yep, all the bad reviews are absolutely true. HOWEVER, with workarounds and tweaks, this is a great system. First, the 1Gb data per month is horrible, but not undoable. Tweak your sensitivity to where it’s not uploading stupid stuff. I have mine to upload bumps and impacts, but to start recording to the SD cars all motions. Second is the crappy night vision. Yep, now I just went to Amazon and got a cheap infrared light ($12) and it turns on when it gets dark, and alllll without running my battery down too much. The crappy signal,...well I am getting less bars than ideal, but it always connects from my phone, even remotely. Overall, I will be keeping this; but if I had to buy over again, I would probably keep searching for something that was a better fit.

PROS: always on 360 camera as long as you buy the obd2 port version the camera is connected to the internet with a 4g late Sim card. it sents a small video if a semi or bike passes near the car CONS: the video quality is not good enough to get a license plate or a face unless they are 1 feet away if you don't use your car too often the camera battery will die because it needs to be recharged constantly from your cars battery. some times an update messes up your settings and then you don't get any alerts or way too many alerts and you have to play around with it again.

Camera picture not good quality. Expensive in my opinion. You have to pay for WiFi to get alerts that something is going on with your vehicle. I didn't see where this was listed on the box. Thank goodness for the young man at Best Buy or I would have never figured any of this out on my own.

The camera isn’t the best, disconnects constantly and gives a bunch of errors upon successful connection. The Owlcam I have in my other car isn’t a 360 view so I’m missing some parts of the car but works much better overall.

When you spend $400 You expect; 1) the product to work, and 2) attentive customer support if it doesn’t. My unit wouldn’t hold the microSD card in the slot so I couldn’t record any video. Instead of just returning it To BestBuy I figured I’d contact support To see what they would do. You can’t call them so I sent an email as instructed. I waited almost a week but no response. I ended up returning the it BestBuy for a refund. Thank you BestBuy for making the return easy. It’s been a few weeks now and I still haven’t received a response from Waylens.

Great picture and like the security benefits. Camera lasted about a week before the camera shorted out. Waylen is shipping out a replacement as I write this. Hoping it was a single unit issue. The audio and the 4G part of the system was impressive when it worked. Hoping the intense 107 degree eastern Washington temperature was not the cause of the malfunction. Will repost after I get my replacement

I’ve had my car hit twice parked. Now I can see if any car did so while I was away. The only thing I can say against it, is that the data plan of 1 Gb. Is small. Don’t think you’ll be viewing it without it drawing from your data. On the plus side, if you consider just using it for impact or motion and adjust the sensitivity, it will be enough. They give you a month trial so use it wisely to learn the settings. Love it!

I've had the dash camera installed the day of the snow. You can't use the camera until you purchase the 4G so you can actually see what's going on if your not in the car. I tried to reach out to Waylens but they give no answers unless you purchase from one of their dealers, but because I love to tinker with electronics I figured things out for myself. The camera picture is a little dark however you can see license plates when you zoom in and that's what you want. I can actually see 360 in the dark. I can observe just cause I want to.

I purchased this Security Camera System because it can keep tabs on my car when I can't. It monitors the front, back, and sides of my car. Whether I am in a store shopping or parked at the airport for an extended period of time this camera will inform me of any attempted break ins or possible vandalism. If I want to know what the weather is like....I just grab my smartphone and click on the app to See The Weather.

Because I thought that this DashCam was ahead of the game thinking that it would have been a great addition to my car. But I got extremely discouraged after I bought it. I kept seeing reviews about the horrible glare that would always hit the camera. I was also taken back because eventually, I would have to pay for the plan. I honestly didn't even bother opening and sent it right back. It is a great thought don't get me wrong but can't afford to pay for another cellphone plan.

Camera is absolutely horrible will never purchase again will also steer people away from this garbage an old flip phone camera is better quality over priced garbage

Loved being able to see the 360 degree view. But had way too many problems staying connected and wasn’t worth the aggravation. Ended up returning it.

Hi, I bought this cam for my car it was on sale for $249.99 regular price is $399.00 I was so happy the quality of the construction is great but the quality of the video is horrible you can not read license plates and everything is very fuzzy not clear most dash cams have very clear video this one does not. This unit is a 4g LTE unit so you can log on any time from anywhere and see what’s going on around your car but the video quality is very poor at this time until they fix these issues I don’t recommend purchasing this unit.

The sensor the color of the view and you cant view away from the car .

This car camera is Fantastic. However, I have to be honest, when the window fogs up or rain, you’ll only get clear footage in the inside of the car.

Bought this dash cam for its high rating but it is so sensitive that it records "bumps" and "impacts" when I'm opening and closing the doors and trunk. I've talked to their tech support and they say it can be fine tuned but my issue is that if I were to receive a small bump from someone and I take back the sensitivity, will it or won't it let me know? For now I'm leaving it the way it is. I'd rather be given a false warning than none at all! If Best Buy tech support can help me with this issue, I'd be grateful!

I love the fact that I can meet a client and have a recording of the outside of the vehicle and record them and the interior of my vehicle at the same time. My job has a risk due to meeting clients at random locations so I love that my wife has a resource and peace of mind to see if anything bad happens. I wasn’t a big fan of the yearly fee for data but it is useful enough to justify the cost.
