Great product, high quality and just plan works

I am a driver for Uber and Lyft and having a camera in todays social climate, as a large, often intimidating, white male, is a must. Retrieving video for playback is simply (used an iPad Pro and an iPhone) with no problems connecting and interfacing with Waylens software. The more than amply storage option (256GB via sim-card), is great. Will record for a long time without overwriting video. The quality of the video is good (8 out of 10). I paid to have Best Buy professionally install the camera in my 2016 Honda Odyssey. Where they ran the wires created a Faraday type cage effect where my receiver is for my keyfob (blocked the signal a little), so try to have them run it anywhere but up the drivers side dash area. Also I had to take the vehicle back due to draining my battery; installer said they did it all right, but when I got it back, the problem was fixed! Gotta love magic. So why the "4-stars", not five... that is company side. Waylens stated that the 4G version (which I would recommend over the Wi-Fi version) would be available by a certain date. That date came and went by a long shot (few months if memory serves) and I settled (I never settle, get what I want or go without) on the Wi-Fi version due to needing a camera NOW (why I did not settle) as compared to later. At $300 Wi-Fi vs $400 4G, I just couldn't buy the latter when it came out. I was banking (pun intended) that Waylens would come out with the 4G and I could pack and send it back since they have a 30 day return policy... it came out like 40 days after I bought mine. I have mentioned this fact to several people who have emailed me about questions I had with no response to me.. .not a sorry to hear that or anything acknowledgment whatsoever. If I had a potato, I would offer to you know for such a long post... if ya got this far... holy crikey! You are amazing and dedicated. :-)

I really like this dash cam but was disappointed when I was not able to connect to my cars LTE. There is a version that requires new LTE plan.

After doing extended research on dash cams I landed on the Waylens360 because it shows a complete picture of what is around your car. Not just the front or the back view... sides too! The installation was very easy and setting up the app on your phone is a snap too. It is more money than other options and you have to buy an SD card, all worth it. Make sure you have a good car battery because this camera works when you are parked too. A very nice feature.

So the Secure 360, I had backed on an Indiegogo campaign. I support that everyone have a dashcam of any kind but when I saw this I felt it was a great solution to video everywhere. I have had mine for quite a while and it has it pros and cons. The video quality isn't the highest but I feel you gain the pro filming completely around your vehicle. It does have an always on feature which is great to capture those crazies that come near your vehicle. It has come in handy quite a few times. If someone walks up to your window you can automatically record them without having to move your camera around to see them. If you are needing a cheap camera this is not it. But if you looking to protect yourself all the way around this is it.

    3 stars for innovation

Got it from KS, so my price was half of what it sells for now. If I'd be paying full price, I'd be very upset. Picture quality is mediocre and almost useless at night, even though creators were assuring us how great it will be, and kept delaying the true images before compain end. Well, that it's cons. Good thing is that it does what it was meant to do, aka record 360 degree...sort of. You will get picture of whats going on around, so no complaints on it. And you need a fast card for it, as Samsung Evo plus will keep erroneous, at least it did on me. Sandisk extreme plus is doing ok. Picture quality 2 stars, innovation and usability 4 stars. True 3 stars all together.

    Terrible video quality

I got this through the Waylen's kickstarter campaign. Sad, because I'll never see that money again. I have owned five dash cams, including this one, and even the cheap $50 cameras you can get on Amazon, Walmart or Best Buy have far superior video quality. You cannot read license plates of a car you are directly parked behind, nor, can you read street signs. Being able to read street signs in motion is of added importance with this camera, because the GPS function never worked. Only option is direct wire, though instructions were impossible. I eventually figured that part out. Motion sensor never worked either. A quick visit to the Waylen's forum will provide countless stories just like this one. This was not one 'bad apple" which could be expected with any new product. No, this is the same on all of their 360 camera's. I ended up throwing mine in the trash. Thought about using it as a paper weight, but I just got depressed every time I looked at it reminding me of my wasted money. App was OK. Great idea, POOR execution!

Peace of Mind, Easy to Use, Fun

I have been wanting a dashcam for a few years. I finally picked up the WayLens Secure 360, and I'm glad I did. It feels good to have peace of mind when traveling a long commute to know if an accident happens, I will having video evidence to protect myself. The install was easy enough watching a few youtube videos, but if you have access to a professional installer it wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't consider myself very knowledgeable on these things and I was able to figure it out. I've used the video countless times to show a narrow miss of deer running out in front of me, other accidents on the highway, and other various incidents to look back on. The quality is great, and again, just a nice addition to set and forget. Note: I screen grabbed the image attached. It does not do the quality justice, but does give you an overall look at everything.

High quality construction. Great 360 picture

My wife purchased this as a gift for me and it works great. I like that it records a 360 degree video picture that gets all activity around my vehicle. Taking a HD sensor to record that much area around your vehicle does take away the resolution if it was just a single front facing camera. You give up that picture quality due to this 360 coverage. I think a future version should use a 4K sensor to give us back the HD front facing quality that we are all use to. All the software updates have taken care of bugs here and there. Maybe 2020 will have that 4K or 8K sensor in it.

    Video resolution not very good

I bought this primarily for an evidentiary record in the instance of a traffic accident resulting in an insurance claim. Must be able to identify the registration of the other vehicle if involved in an accident otherwise need to pay insurance excess, and lose no claim bonus etc. Anyway, the resolution of the camera isn't sufficient to read the number plate of a vehicle one car length in-front of mine. Without being able to read the number plate on the recorded video isn't much use.

Got this during the Kickstarter campaign. Recommended not for the video quality but for the range of video. That extra angle helps for side impacts of door dings and people who park poorly. Also is a great way to see things like meteors you spotted in your way home that are caught on video. Love the peace of mind of knowing the device is watching out for me wherevern park. Overall great device that has it's limits but better angle coverage than anything out there.

I actually have two of these cameras and I can't tell you how helpful they are. The picture quality is amazing! Being able to see 360 degrees is awesome! I feel protected all the time, and that means so much! The company is great too, they are always rolling out updates to tweak and make the camera better. That's always a good thing, knowing that a company is truly involved in the product they produce. I say buy it! I would totally buy another! No hesitation.

So my dilemma was that I wanted a camera that would work well in my Jeep Wrangler. Like many, I like to remove the hardtop in the summer. The Waylens suited this situation perfectly. The other big positive in my opinion is its parking mode. It works flawlessly. And whenever it is about to be triggered, these two red lights come on which will be a visual deterrent to a thief. Overall, very happy with it !

    Best security dash cam

This camera has worked great since purchase. The app works great and the wifi connection to my phone has been perfect. I love being able to just hook my phone to it's wifi which it does automatically when I get into the car and I can just export the video straight to my phone from there without having to take out the microsd card and put into my computer to get the video. Obviously a 360 camera at this point in time isn't going to have the same quality as a normal straight forward 1080p or 2k camera but this does it's job great. Video quality is good enough for what I want it for and it can see everything that's going on while driving or if you are parked. Install was a breeze and I don't have any issues with it. It serves it's purpose well. Get a cheaper Viofo A119 if you want to be able to read license plates or if you need a back view camera to go along with this. Perfect set up.
