I bought this to offload some content from another NAS server that was becoming overloaded. Only real complaint is that the CPU in the system isn't powerful enough for some movies and videos if your using the PLEX addon with it. Otherwise it's great.

Purchase of this NAS was for the features. The two drives with raid compatability, network connectivity along the price was much cheaper than Synology. You can run a third party docker "portainer" on device but has limitation because of the 1gb of ram and processing power can definitly be better. Is great for backing up documents, photos and videos. The plex features is a nice touch. Reason for the last star missing was this device has been on the market for quite sometime and they could have engineered as an addon to install more ram. Device just has some basic app features and that list is extremely small. Is perfect for the purpose of for what it was needed for and thebreason of the purchase. Considering these devices have been out on the market for many years, they could have develope a more modular upgradeable product for their consumers. If your using this device just for what I have stated above then you can't go wrong and would recommend.

I needed a high capacity storage device where I could copy files from my office PC, files from my laptop, pictures from my phone, etc. and have them be readily accessible across the internet. This product does the job. Periodically, at home, I hear a somewhat loud whirring sound coming from it (perhaps, when it is making automated backups?) but that usually only lasts about 10 minutes. Overall, I am pleased.

This NAS is performing exactly as expected. I have turned it into a Plex server, as is possible right out of the box, and it is performing well.

This NAS device was a perfect upgrade from my old unit that was almost out of space. It was easy to setup and configure and it gave you the opportunity to download the good sync software that made it easy to migrate all my old data to the new one. I pretty much had over 2TB synced up in one day

For several years I was wanted a central cloud for my music, e-books, etc, and was reluctant to invest with an external supplier. Recently i started researching personal cloud options and selected the EX2 Ultra. I use it in RAID mode and found it surprising easy to setup and use. There are many You Tube videos that go into some detail on its setup and usage but for meet these were for presales. I have PCs (Windows 10, an iPhone 6 Plus and a couple of iPads all connected thus far with free apps.

This is 12TB of storage, or 6Tb as Raid-1(mirror). I wanted something that gives plenty of space, and with two drives 6TB each, I can have a backup to my backup with Raid-1 setup. It also has an ethernet port to add to your network at home (NAS).

I’m new to NAS devices. This device is very basic in this regard, and its function is limited. Compared to other brands, for example Qnap or Synology, there are models with more features at about the same price point. The unit is easy to set-up and I got it running with little trouble. It runs very quietly. If one is looking for a simple backup solution, it fits the bill. If streaming videos, or collaborating with others on projects, look elsewhere. it’s the only NAS brand that Best Buy offers, which is disappointing.

I wanted a personal cloud storage for movies, photos and files since my computer storage was lacking and everything was now stored on a small external drive. Since it connects directly to the router I don’t need to run my desktop PC continuously anymore to access Plex and can now backup phones as well with the app. This drive was easy to set up and with the dual drives I always have a backup. If you use Plex I would highly recommend this drive.

Need patience to setup WD Cloud

First, to be clear Best Buy's service and delivery were great. The problem I had was with the WD Cloud device. The first night I set it up it worked great and I moved files to the My Cloud to back them up. I noticed it was doing updates and so I Iet it update overnight. The next morning the drive's power light was blinking fast blue and offline so I couldn't connect. I went through all the reset options and after two days of trying to no avail, I reached out to WD for help. That's a whole different story of bad service from WD, no help at all by their "techs." After TWO weeks of trying with WD they told me to take the drive back to Best Buy even though they initially said they would initiate a return on WD's end but when I asked about my files they said they couldn't help me! In one last effort I tried to reset by unrecommended procedures of continually disconnecting the power while the unit was booting up. After about 10 minutes of repeating that process the drive finally reset and the red light came on and finally turned solid blue. Since that point the drive has worked great and been stable. I am still slightly concerned about backing up everything on the drive so I am slowly testing and transferring files. I would recommend Best Buy but WD's service was awful so I wouldn't want a friend to struggle through this process as I did.

The hardware seems to be an excellent NAS system. However, I found the software and user guide to be lacking. This system is tough to set up and I'm not a novice to computers, servers, home servers, and networking.
I bought this NAS to replace a 10+ year old home server. Once I got it set up, it's been working fine.

I'm a mac user, so setting this HD up wasn't that hard, except for that I had to watch some tutorials online since in their own web site doesn't have a clear explanation on how to use it after you're done setting it up.
I use it as a mirror/raid backup HD, which means it copies exactly the same data in both discs. The problem is that it makes it very very VERY slow to back up or even save large files. You can spend 3 hours saving 60gb. easily.
The good part is that it's very reliable and after it's all set up it works really good.

Back up your files but hard to figure out how best to use it. The add on app Quick Fynd does not work with the NAS in google drive and you can't get any support for the app
