Picked up a new laptop with a solid state drive. Great drive but not much storage. Solution - pick up an external. Love this drive - so reliable and tons of room. Very easy to use and very small - I can take it with my no matter where I go! Very cool!

I've always trusted Western Digital for my Hard Drive needs. Whether it's an internal drive for a computer or an external HDD. This line of My Passport models are a great solution for digital storage needs. Light and compact, they take up very little space on a desk or traveling in a laptop bag. They can hold as much data as the MY Book models but in a more convenient package for portability and without the need of an additional electrical adapter, as they are powered solely from the USB connector that is simultaneously used for data. They work well as either an occasionally connected external to use for long term storage, or a committed drive that is constantly connected to a main device for backups and often used data, . An overlooked but very useful feature is the variety of fun colors. They don't just make the product look good, they also help in organizing your data with a color coding system. With one quick glance you know by color which drives hold what kind of data, Blue for family photos perhaps, red for legal documents, white for work related data, etc. The series also offers different storage thresholds in various TB amounts for whether you want to store a little, or a lot of data. Price per Passport is also very reasonable in comparison to similar drives from competitors. Particularly when coupled with Western Digital's attention to detail and impressive track record for making dependable, quality products.

It is hard to believe 4 TB storage can fit into a portable USB drive. The price point made this device very affordable for the volume. It is hard to review a disk drive because they are great except when they fail. Judging from previous WD drives purchased, I don’t expect any premature failures, even though this drive rides in my shoulder bag all over the world.

Bought this because I needed more storage for my Xbox One and it works great with the console. It's as easy as plugging it in and the console took care of the rest. This will come in handy next month when I get my hands on the Xbox One X and need space for my 4k games.

As the price per terabyte comes down it is so amazing and nice to be able to get a storage device like this that can hold all of my movies photos documents and projects and be networked in to my Wi-Fi I so I can access it from all of my devices. Easy to install and so far it has been very stable and reliable.

I have two external hard drives I bought several years ago. Both are rather large and take up a lot of desk space, they are also USB 2.0. I bought this 4TB portable USB 3.0 drive to consolidate the other two drives. It works very well and takes up a fraction of the space.

I was getting tired of running out of space on my PS4. I opted to get this 4T drive. It was easy to use and now I have tons of space for downloading games. The price was not bad for being a 4T. Couldn't be happier.

I bought this as a replacement for my Time Machine backup device. I just needed more space. The USB 3.0 interface is nice for increased disk I/O. I've had good luck with WD drives in the past. Got a good deal on this drive so well worth the money I spent on it. Even at non sale price it was a pretty good deal. Note for Mac users ... you do need to format the disk so that your Mac can recognize and use this drive.

This is my third purchase of a My Passport External Hard drive. Third purchase, because I really like it and have gotten additional ones to use. I like that I don't need a power supply for this, and only need to plug it into my PC, laptop and/or Smart TV! Western Digital makes good dependable products. I've gotten Seagate before, and have had them go belly up on me, but the WD products have been reliable. I've recommended this external hard drive to my friends and family as it is a good small size, and better to have multiple backups than to lose your precious data. Also, this is the perfect size to take my videos on the go!

Great portable hard drive. Its very small and light. The price is amazing compared to other hard drives with much less storage! Definitely recomend for extra gaming storage.

Bought this drive to help organize and backup my extensive photo library and it has worked out very well for that purpose. The 4TB capacity gives me plenty of room, and even with it half full, there doesn't seem to be any degradation in access speed. The small size and light weight also make it easy to take and use in the field.
