Customers are saying

Customers praise the My Passport Go 500GB External USB 3.0 Portable SSD for its ease of use, ample storage, and lightweight, compact design. Many appreciate its speed as an SSD and the convenience of its portability. However, some users find the short cable length inconvenient, and a few mention the capacity as a limiting factor for their needs. The small size is a positive for many but the limited storage is a negative for some.

Using this external SSD all my heavy gopro video files transfer to any computer in seconds. It is very small , lightweight and easy carry with you. My only concern is the USB cable is not removable, so do not bend it too much.

It’s incredibly light weight. Durable and easy to use. I have been able to organize all my work files, personal music and videos. Then drop it in a pocket and take it with me everywhere with no risk of “jolting the hard drive” and ruining it because it’s solid state memory!

need I say more? This is a VERY slim (smaller-than-wallet-size) drive you can use to quickly transfer a tremendous amount of content. With it being SSD, I had no difficulty rapidly playing and editing 4K video located on the drive itself. It travels with me wherever I film!

I only buy SSD drives now. No worries about travelling and minor shocks like a spinning disc drive. This style has an integrated wire cable. It is short, permanently attached and perfect - sometimes. If you need a longer cable so everything reaches your connection ports the short connector will be a nuisance. But if you want a quick travel drive that always has a cable with it this is perfect. Look at one in the store and think about how you will be using it. If it fits it is great. If you have 4 devices jammed into a small space plugged into an external hub you might want a different style.

Fast, lightweight, easy plug-and-play on MacBook... (this is why I don't leave reviews - required to be longer than that!)

Roughly credit card sized and as thick as 3-4 cards, this drive is among the most compact and portable I have seen. The USB connector is especially well-designed as it tucks into a slot on the underside of the drive, safe and out of the way. We needed this for my wife to use for backups and to carry from home to work and this has been about perfect for her needs.

Took along for picture storage backup as we visited Hawaii. When going someplace like that I didn't want to take any chances so I'd download my pictures from my Nikon D300 onto my MacBook Pro and then backed them up to this drive from the MBP just to play it safe. Worked well, speed seemed good. Really just like a large capacity thumb drive.

Why rent a cloud when you can use these? More secure and certainly faster access. This thing was so light I had to check the box before I left the store to make sure the thing was in it. Amazing. Western Digital still supreme on hard drive tech and price.

I use this to back up files that are too large to sync to cloud storage services; this was cheaper than paying for a subscription to premium storage. This sat unused for months until my PC died, but was still working when I needed to copy the files to my replacement PC.

Drive was on sale and I needed an external drive for a raspberry PI project. Raspberry PIs can source only so much power. So an SSD is a better option than a disk drive. The SSD hosts an Influx data base.

Quality Rugged Portable external hard drive. Great for someone who takes data on the road or wants quality protection for valuable data. One drawback is the build usb cord is very short. Have to have it right next computer or hub.

SSD drives are like a Thumbdrive in that they don't have the traditional spinning disk of tradition drives. That makes them small, more sturdy, but they are a bit pricey. Prices on SSD drives have dropped, but a similar sized HDD will cost you less. This drive is a great way for me to back up my photo files, and quickly edit them in Photoshop or Lightroom.
