    I had high expectations for this top end portable drive. Ordered online for store pickup, waited a few weeks for delivery, picked it up ... plugged it in because the battery was dead out of the box and ... no good! Wouldn’t charge past the minimum 5%, how disappointing. BUT, was able to play with it (while connected to the wall charger) to realize that it really wasn’t as fast as I expected it to be. Also, doesn’t automatically connect after the initial setup like more modern electronics do (i.e. my DJI drone and GoPro cameras). Honestly, I loved the concept but was disappointed with the reality even without the charging issues.

    Purchased for a China trip for photo/video backup and as a power pack. All functions tested fine before leaving. After the first use as a power pack in China, the battery would not recharge. The unit would only work when connected to an AC power source. .

    I‘ve been using this drive for about 18 months and couldn’t be happier with the performance and reliability of the drive. I travel throughout the US and use it with my iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. The wireless features, USB-3 port and SD card slot work great. The battery charges fine and recharges from my rental cars fine. The instructions are complicated and depending on how you will use it, a call to WesternDigital Support might get you over the humps. All in all I’m pleased with my purchase.
