If you can appreciate the days of cheesy stop-motion animation from decades before the dawn of Jurassic Park then you'll get a kick out of this piece of nostalgia. The campy acting and the cave-man dialog are of course laughable as are the comically-fake looking dinosaurs. But the point is, if you're a fan of the old Godzilla films, you don't watch this expecting technical perfection, you watch it for the nastalgia of stop motion and to get a laugh or two. One thing that is surprisingly excellent is the video quality of this bluray disc. The colors are quite vivid and the image is appreciably clear, save for a few scenes where optical effects inherently softened the source material. The audio is decidedly lo-fi mono and sounds a bit better if you enable the 'mono-movie' setting on your receiver that at least spreads it across the 3 front speakers in a 7.1 setup like mine. If you like films of this type (like One Million Years BC from '66) you'll enjoy this one, especially considering the very reasonable price.

This is a classic movie for those into stop motion animated effects. I myself had never watched it before, but I decided to take a chance since I am a fan of the movies that feature stop motion by Ray Harry Hausen like Sinbad, Clash of the Titans, etc. Well, I was pleasantly surprised as this movie features great effects, and the story line is very entertaining. The story while basic is very well done, and the scenery is pretty cool too. The move to HD really gives the movie a new vibrancy. The picture is clean and detailed. If you like these oldy type movies and haven't seen this one, do yourself a favor and give it a chance.

I saw this film when I was younger and loved it, now I'm older and saw it on blu-ray and got to say it's like watching a new movie. The picture was great, the sound was amazing, loved it before and love it now a must buy for the fans. On the plus side this is the extended version!
