Love the Load & Go feature time saver. Easy load selections. Clothes come out clean and fresh with minimal water consumption. Buttons can be a little touchy if you happen to brush up against the pad lights turn on awaits instructions to start load.

We bought this washer (and the dryer) to replace our 12 year old Whirlpool Duet set (which we loved). We love the Load & Go on this washer! It holds a lot more detergent than our old set. Our only complaint with this machine is something is off with the spin cycle. It's crazy loud and vibrates half the house. This happens with any size load. The delivery guys never checked to make sure it worked properly after installation. We have checked and it is sitting level. I do with it had a light inside the drum, but not a deal breaker.

First the Dryer went Kaput, so we decided to get a matched set. Our washer was 12 years old, so with our 22 year old dryer we stepped up to something new, even with Pedestals so ease bending over! As with the companion Dryer, this mostly American made Washer has just enough controls, and is front loading. Seems simple to use and so far works well, cleans the clothes and no complaints.

It runs so quiet I had to keep checking to make sure it was still working. It spins most of the water out of the clothes so the drying doesn't take as long and my clothes come out cleaner then they did with my old washer. It doesn't use much water which is also a savings

This washer has been excellent. We love the Load & Go feature. Wish it had the same for fabric softener and bleach, but I'm not complaining. Does a great job getting closes clean. We bought this to replace a Samsung washer we bought just a couple years ago that we were never happy with. Very pleased with this Whirlpool Washer.

I've had it for almost a full month now. The good is it cleans great. Clothing, full bath towels and bath sheets, bedding sheets, etc comes out way cleaner then before. It's easy to use and has a very large tub. It's a good looking machine (if that matters to anyone) and doesn't use much water to work so well. My previous machine was also a front loader (General Electric) that I purchased new 15 years ago. It still worked but it was tired. My previous Whirlpool was a top loader that I owned from new for several years before the GE front loader so I'm familiar with the brand. The bad is that this machine is unusually loud compared to my previous much older machine. I don't know why it has to be this loud with a near $1000 price point. Two words Whirlpool "Sound Deadening". It's in my garage and I can hear it from anywhere in the house. My two previous machines weren't loud like that. It lacks some features that lower cost brands (including my previous GE) have like "Delay Start" but for a few hundred more you can get that feature on the upgraded model. It should be on this machine for the price. That's about it for the bad. It's loud and lacks some features it should have for the cost. Other than that it does a great job of cleaning with little water use.

I recently moved so this is my second Whirlpool washer in 4 years with the Load & Go feature. This model varied from my last one in how/where to load the detergent for this feature and I had a problem with unclear instructions in the Owners Guide so was not using my newer model properly. Load & Go detergent must be loaded in the bottom drawer for this model (my 4 year old model just used the regular detergent drawer). I wish I had understood this before Best Buy gave me a new washer after my complaint since it appears that my problem was owner error. Love the machine, even though it is 'closet size', which was not mentioned on the BB site, so it's deeper and narrower than I expected but not a problem since I have space for this. Also like the steam function which works well for items I forgot to hang up right away or were folded in a dresser drawer -- no ironing!

This is my first front loader and it took a little getting use too. The machine is quiet. Its Load and Go system is innovative and now believe we over detergent our laundry! I’m using liquid fabric softener for the first time with wonderful results, especially with my bed sheets. USE LIQUID DETERGENTS, BLEACH AND SOFTENERS ONLY!!!

Never thought the Load And Go feature would be appreciated as much as it is. Makes it easy for my older mother and kids to wash clothes without having to put detergent in. Very quiet. Our laundry room is right off of the living room. Just wish the dryer would go on sale now. I'm stalking the internet trying to find a sale.

Spin cycle causes excessive vibration. Sometimes when going into spin it jerks loudly like it’s breaking down. We have had a front load washer for 25 years prior to buying this one. New model much “rougher” wash than old one. It is on a pedestal or it would walk all over the floor. Have to make sure the load is balanced if load very bulky. Love the load and go?

I got my Whirpool washer and dryer thinking that with the Load & Go option I will really forget about pouring detergent & softener. Well ladies and gentleman, let me tell you that the load and go option is ONLY for the detergent. You will have to pour in the softener every time you wash. Now I found myself asking: Did I pour softener or no? The load and go option is really a great idea but incomplete if you don't have a cardtrige that will dispense by itself the softener as it does it with the detergent.

    Stainless steel drum failure

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Purchased Whirlpool WFW6620HW from BestBuy in January 2019 to replace my 14 year old Whirlpool Duet. The stainless steel drum on new washer was not welded properly during manufacturing and was splitting either before the product was delivered or during the first three months of light use. It started grabbing clothes and ripping them apart. Whirlpool sent a new drum assembly to their local authorized service rep who disassembled the machine and installed the new drum with great difficulty in my small laundry room. After supposed repair, the machine leaks and sounds like a jackhammer during spin cycle. Whirlpool is sending local service rep for a third visit. I will let you know if or when machine is satisfactorily repaired. Regarding machine design, why are the doors 26 inches diameter when the tub opening is only 16 inches? I had my hopes up when I bought American-made, but all I got was disappointed.

I am clearly a pretty basic user - I have only run three different wash cycles so far on several loads each. So far my clothes are clean, no obnoxious odors, and no leaking. It’s even a pretty quiet machine compared to my last. The only thing is accidentally pushing the buttons when I reach over the machine, which changes settings. It’s a good thing you have to hold the button 3 seconds to start, but it will pause the running cycle accidentally.

These wash and dry just fine, the wash and dry settings are just fine. The reason I did not give them more stars: You cannot even brush lightly against the touch screen controls without re-setting or ending the wash/dry cycle. So, if you have kids or spouses putting stuff in the laundry basket or getting something off a shelf above the washer (if they are not stacked) or next to the washer you must warn everyone not to go anywhere near the machine because it is constantly being turned off or running an hour extra because someone barely brushed up against the control. The washer seems to be much more sensitive than the dryer. There is no option for a loudish "end of cycle" alert on either machine. I do like that the buttons are not excessively loud - both machines are quiet which is great. You cannot put just one item in the dryer for the steam setting, it gets stuck between the lint filter and the door and must be washed again to get the steamed in wrinkles out. They say four items in the dryer for the steam setting and you can only do four items. The doors on both are really large, especially if you don't have them on the pedestals, difficult to maneuver laundry baskets around unless you have a fairly large laundry room.
