Works well 1 year later, but can require managing

This is working well a year after use for my basement use. I purchased this for something hopefully to last +2 years and had a pump. I also am very happy this retains settings after a hard power down. I use a smart plug to schedule this to run. "Basement" setting is fixed to 40%, "Bedroom" to 55%, otherwise it can be adjusted in 5% increments. The accuracy is very close to my other hygrometer / temp sensors. I do not use "continuous" feature. The timer setting isn't too useful since it lasts for a single cycle. I like to set it and forget it. The filter is easy to remove and clean.
What needs improvement: the pump, a required feature for me, while slow only empties 3/4 of the tank. It triggers when the tank is near full. With this, that 3/4 tank of stale water will slowly get more gross over time building up slimes in the tank until manually emptied and clean. Gravity will have the same issue due to the location. I also feel the filter timer is too fast, I'm not sure how long it is. I could do without a filter timer. While its easy, its seldom dirty. I'd rather this not be rendered OFF until filter reset button is manually reset. I don't know if I'd like this in a place that a person cannot frequently manage it.
Overall, I like its use at my primary home given my need to check on it manually more or clean the tank. I don't think I can use this on a vacation home / rental that is not managed well. I am happy its working well another season and hoping for a few more.

I bought this dehumidifier out of all the brands because the brand is well known. It’s easy to move from room to room, it’s pretty quiet, it reads the humidity in the room, I live in Florida I don’t have a basement so I move it from room to room around the house to keep the humidity out and I love this dehumidifier.

Have had this in our basement for around 7 weeks now. Does a great job at pulling moisture out of the air. Before installation, basement humidity was 70-80%. Now it stays at around 50% (or down to 40% depending on how we set it). The pump is an essential feature for us, otherwise we'd have to carry the full bucket upstairs to empty twice a day. Minus one star because the pump is quite noisy-- very noticeable noise upstairs in house when it kicks on.

So far so good. It is a bit noisier than I had expected but it works well, takes a good amount of moisture out of the air, and my electric bill went down significantly the first month using it, after upgrading from one I bought 10 years ago.

The product does its job. It removes water/moisture from my basement. It is very noisy. You wouldn't want it in your bedroom or living room. It came it a box that looked like it was opened before and returned. A part was broken, but did not affect the operation of the unit. I bought it and a day later, Best Buy advertised it on sale for $20.00 less. BB issued me a credit for the $20.00. No real problems so far,

Bought this one when I had to return the newer model due to a power board failure (per the company), worked great for about 14 months, pump is now dead so it will run 4 hrs then E5, or run 4 hours then stagnate until I am back to empty the bucket. As another reviewer notes the bucket fills before triggering the pump to partially drain it, so it gets NASTY! And quickly. I do like that taking the bucket apart is as easy as popping the handle out and a single tab, but do not carry the bucket by the handle as it flexes badly when full.
Shame the pump doesn't hold up, but if you want to pay the price of a model with pump and don't need a pump, may fit your needs. Personally if the primary feature needed is the pump, get a cheap one from the hardware store, you'll be out less money to replace it annually (and to pay the disposal fee annually).

Nice dehumidifier. It's been running 24/7 for a little over a month and is doing a great job. I have it attached to a hose that empties into a set tub in the basement which makes life so much easier than having to empty the bucket all of the time. My previous one lasted about 5 years and also ran 24/7 the entire time. These days I consider that a reasonable life span for a dehumidifier that is always running. Hopeful this one last about the same.

Good dehumidifier for our basement. Really takes the moisture out of the room. Only thing to note is it sometimes runs warm/hot which raises the temp in the room.

The unit arrived a day early, in good shape, no damage. Its doing a great job drying out our basement so far, Our old dehumidifier died after 8 years. I opted for the 4 yr. extended warranty, which seemed reasonable given the Whirlpool was on sale. The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts is because the 5/16th vinyl drain tubing, that comes with the unit, is only 20 feet long. I need about 30, so I've got to either use an old garden hose or buy a 50 ft roll of vinyl tubing. You can use both types of hose on unit with our without the drain pump activated. I was hoping the unit was made in the USA, but it's made in China.
The unit works well I'm dumping out 4 buckets a day - I haven't hooked up the drain hose yet. The unit seems to move a lot of air, but it is pretty quiet. I liked the unit enough to buy a second one for another property.
Would buy again!

I've had this item for a few months now and haven't had one problem. It's completely dried my basement and I'm extremely happy! I don't have to dump out water because it has the hose attachment too! What more can you ask for?! 2 thumbs up!

Only had it for a couple weeks, but I like it so far.
The instruction manual said to let it run continuously for 24 hours the first time you turn it on. When I did, it was in a humid basement room and the bucket filled COMPLETELY after just 18 hours! Impressive!
The only problem was with the pump function -- I attached a garden hose to it (which the instruction booklet says is okay to do), but the pump wouldn't work -- the unit only gave me a "pump malfunction" code. So I tried the thin plastic tubing that comes with the unit instead. Then it worked fine. So I'll just be using that instead.

Dehumidifier pump potential disappoints

This dehumidifier was easy to set up by following the enclosed instructions. I am disappointed that the pump function built in to the machine does not seem to work properly. The machine removes a tankful of moisture daily which I empty by removing the reservoir and dumping. That works well. But when I attempt to run the pump out a basement window that is well within the advertised height and distance rating advertised for the machine, it is very noisy, leaks, and does not discharge the water outside.

Good drainage with hose.
However, the bucket must be filled with water in order for the pump to be activated.
The bucket will need to be emptied every so often.

The dehumidifier has a small size, it works well for a year, then it started to freeze. It had the best buy guarantee, it got me out of trouble. the dehumidifier has a problem is that the water falls into the bucket and when the pump is full it activates and takes out a little water from the bucket like a glass of water more or less the problem is that this water is not clean and the bucket is always full all the water stains the bucket so every 15 days you will have to take the bucket out and wash it with hot water and some product that removes that mold that sticks to the walls of the bucket to prevent you from getting sick I think Whirlpool should have a way that the bucket remains empty once it is filled and the pump drains everything to the bottom
