Customers are enthusiastic about the ease of use of the 7.4 Cu. Ft. 36-Cycle Electric Dryer. However, a significant drawback reported by customers is that the drying time is longer than expected, with some experiencing overheating issues. Several users noted that drying clothes takes considerably longer than with a vented dryer. This extended drying time is a major point of concern for many customers.

Lifestyle changed to accommodate a ventless dryer. You have to plan ahead. Cant throw something in and have it dry in 25 mins. Plan at least 1.5 hours. We hang a lot to dry.
Does job on not outputting a lot of moisture.
Had to replace once just under 3 years. Had extended warranty. Dont purchase without it. Had to rebuy extended warranty for replacement. It was the largest ventless dryer we could find and are glad we made that choice.
I avoid drying heavy garments due to cost of electricity.

TAKES LONGER than a vented dryer. Has 2 filters to clean. WILL make small room humid. NEEDS a place to drain. Make sure you get the hose with it. No one carries it but whirlpool.

Best Dryer on the Market for Condos

I love my new heat pump dryer. First, you need to understand what you are getting with this dryer. If you are unfamiliar with heat pump dryers, do some research. I wanted a heat pump dryer because I live in a condo. Heat pump dryers are more energy efficient and do not blow air into your living space. Instead the dryer is connected to a drain. There is no vent. The drawback is that clothes take longer to dry, but it is also less harsh on your clothes. Now that I've used the dryer a few times, I really don't understand what other people are complaining about. I've never experienced my clothes not drying. It's takes longer, but they come out dry and the moisture does not go back into them if you let them sit in the dryer. The negative reviews about this dryer all seem to be based on misconceptions. This is the best dryer for condos because it allows you to fit a full size machine in a condo closet. You do not need extra space for venting. If you live in a condo with kids, then you need this dryer. Just understand what you are buying.

Installers had no idea how to install a ventless

Horrendous experience. Installer failed to install drain hose that comes with the ventless dryer. Also brought a vent kit that he tried to install. To make matters worse, did not leave the part with my purchase. Since I assumed it had been done properly, caused water damage to area and had to buy a new washer.
They had no idea what they were doing. Its been a few weeks now and they have still not resolved the issue. I spent nearly an hour on chat, issue was not resolved. Said it was being escalated, but sent me to physical store to resolve the issue. I went, they have no customer service department and had no idea what to do. In the end wanted to give me the part (simple drain hose for dryer) but they do not carry same, so they sent me to Home Depot and Lowes to buy one, however, the part is not something they have. I went into another chat, got sent to another number was told it was escalated, would get a call back 24 to 48 hours. Over 5 days and no call. Went through chat again, gave me number to call, once I got through they said that was not the right number, transferred me to yet another number, was on for some time, seemed like she would help. Was told they don't have part so getting in touch with manufacturer. Will call me back in half an hour. Two days later, still nothing.
Install still not property done (very simple one at that) Took away the one part I needed, and can not get after all this time.
Cant use dryer since would cause more water damage.
Customer service THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!

In an ideal world, I wouldn’t spend an entire month’s mortgage payment on a dryer, but if you’re looking at this unit, you probably don’t have many options. If you’re looking for a full size ventless dryer, this is literally your only option on the market right now. Other reviews point out that as a ventless dryer, it takes much longer to dry clothes than a traditional vented dryer (which is true). Other reviews indicated that it was loud, but I haven’t really noticed a difference compared to vented dryers I’ve had in the past. Overall, it does its job well and I’m happy with it, but if I didn’t specifically need a full size ventless dryer, I’d go with a much cheaper option.
Also, when ordering, I didn’t realize that the dryer needed to be connected to a drain/water source in order to actually work, and neither did the Best Buy workers who came to set up the unit. We ended up getting a plumber to make an extra connection to our water line, but please keep that in mind and read the manual before operating!

Game changer for ventless dryers

Let's get this out of the way first: ventless dryers take longer to dry than vented dryers. So if you buy this dryer, you need to go in with that expectation. This is not a defect in this particular dryer. However, while being slower, ventless dryers still use less energy and are also safer for your clothes because they generally dry at lower temperatures.
If you live in an apartment, a ventless dryer may be your only option. Most ventless dryers are very small, meaning you have to run many more loads to get through all of your laundry. This dryer is the only one where you don't have to make that compromise. The fact that it has almost twice the capacity of most ventless dryers is an absolute game changer. With that size, it still fits inside a closet that is 34" deep.
The dryer is easy to use and dries completely, which is more than I can say for our previous dryer, which often required running a load twice. With this one, put it in auto mode, put dryness level to the highest, and let it go. When it says it's done, your clothes and even your towels will be all dry.
The dryer is a bit loud, so if you are sensitive to sound, that is something to keep in mind. We don't find it overwhelming and the benefits far outweigh this one issue. Another recommendation: there are two lint filters, one inside under the door and one in a drawer that you have to pull out. The manual says you only need to clean the latter once every five loads. However, we have found it gets quite full and can benefit from being emptied after every load.
Overall, you can't go wrong with this dryer and I'd recommend it enthusiastically!

Perfect solution for an interior laundry room

This product works great. We have an interior laundry room with no direct vent access. One solution was to install a turbo fan and vent the exhaust through a second story wall. This dryer requires no venting and uses heat pump technology. The 7.4 cu ft model can handle large loads and the drying time is not much longer than a vented dryer, without the heat and humidity. A little noisier than a regular dryer, but an overall great product. Highly recommend.

You can put this dryer anywhere in your house. It does not need to be vented. The installation is a breeze, and it needs no duct cleaning ever! This amazing Heat Pump Dryer is finally available here in America. This advanced economical type of dryer has been available in other countries for a long time. Huge 7.4 cubic foot capacity. It dries clothes to perfection without cooking your clothes. There are 2 filters which are easy to reach and clean. It is more expensive that a regular electric dryer, but it is definitely worth it.

I was happy to finally be able to receive my order, as Ventless 7cu,ft. dryers are rarely available. The delivery team was prompt with drop off and set up. The dryer has been a fantastic, exceeding expectations. The control panel and multiple settings are very intuitive and easy to use. But the best feature may actually be the lint trap. The design is easy to clean and is set to prevent long term buildup. Overall, I have been very pleased and relieved to finally have a dryer that can handle both delicates and bulky items. Great product!!!

Received the dryer yesterday. Geek Squad did a great job.
Tried the dryer out on a couple of blankets but wouldn't dry them all the way on auto. Had to put it on timef load so it wouldn't turn off too soon. Will call Whirlpool and see of we can get this figured out

Terrible dryer

After two years, the dryer started to show error code 'F9 E2', which is a drain pump error, and stop drying each time. It was annoying. Finally, we decided to hire an electrician at Whirlpool website. It costed about $700. I realized this error is very common. Just do not buy this.
