Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the Cabrio 7.0 Cu. Ft. 24-Cycle Electric Dryer's performance, particularly its drying speed, large capacity, and ease of use. Many appreciate its quiet operation and the variety of settings available. A small number of customers expressed concerns about the dryer door's sturdiness and ease of opening and closing. Overall, the positive feedback significantly outweighs the negative comments regarding the door.

I bought this dryer (with matching washer) for my new house, single person use. I was specifically looking for something efficient and capable of handling large loads/items easily. This unit met all my goals. I had actually underestimated the size of the dryer drum and have yet to fill it. It is great for my large comforters that would barely fit in my old dryer and came out wet or required me to go to a laundromat, where the dryers don't dry anything. The size will come in handy when I have family over for holidays, as that would always tax the older washer and dryer. There are very many settings for drying, but they are fairly intuitive and explained in the manual. I set the dryness level one setting above default and the dryer does the rest. No more damp clothes or having to put clothes back in for another 15 minutes of drying. When the dryer says they are dry, they are dry. I think that if you're willing to look beyond the less expensive budget models, you do get your money's worth from this dryer. Great for single individuals and families.

I purchased this dryer to replace our Kenmore Elite dryer that stopped working due to a problem in the control board. We needed a dryer fast, and got a great deal on this one!!! It is easy to use and does a terrific job in drying our clothes. It is cavernous and can dry large loads including our king size comforter. The settings are very flexible with all types of laundry. The only negative, and I might be "knit-picking"; is that the door opening is lower than my old dryer causing one to bend lower to load and unload the clothes.

I like the large capacity that can handle large loads of wash which then saves me the number of loads I have to do. Also, I can be sure the loads are going to be dry when removed. There is an added feature that reminds me to clean out the lint filter before starting the dryer that I find helpful and I also like the variety of settings offered.

Just as I was getting used to, but really annoyed by drying loads of towels for three cycles, we purchased this dryer to replace that one. It was a litle more money than we were wanting to spend but ever since it's been installed it's opened our eyes to what we've been missing out on. With a HUGE drum, this dryer can dry even the largest loads, and to top it all off, it automatically adjusts drying based on your settings. We're still figuring them out but what used to take us 3 hours on towels, now takes 50 minutes. It's quieter than our old one and stylish. Totally recommend, worth the money.

    An OK Dryer

I have now had my new Whirlpool dryer for six weeks, and it gets used probably twice a week. I like the 7.0 CF size of the drum in this dryer. Especially the queen size sheets tumble more freely than they did in my former dryer with a smaller drum. Because the drum is white and the illumination is better than in the old dryer, it is easier to see inside -- especially to see dark socks. For all the supposed benefits of the sensor determining when the clothes are dry, the dryer often overdries the clothes. After years of doing wash, I think I know approximately how long it takes to dry different kinds of items. I have been experimenting by setting a kitchen timer when I turn on the dryer, and then I check when the kitchen timer goes off. Generally the dryer is still on. Opening the door and feeling the hot items inside, I can tell they are dry, even though the timer on the dryer indicates the machine will run for another 10-12 minutes. I have called Whirlpool Customer Service to ask if I am following directions correctly, and I am. But the dryer usually runs longer than it needs to run. If the dryer does operate for the full length of the cycle, there is a chime that sounds to indicate the machine is shutting off. The chime is useless. Its volume cannot be adjusted to a level making it audible two rooms away. In order to open the dryer door, someone puts his fingertips behind a latch handle flush with the door and pulls forward. The angled space behind the handle is less than one inch deep, making a tight squeeze for a man with thick fingers or a woman with long fingernails. A protruding handle through which someone could fit two or three fingers and get a good grip would be far easier to operate. Finally, shoppers who are considering this dryer should be aware that the top is not horizontal, but slopes forward. Where the rear of the top meets the control panel, it is an inch and a quarter higher than at the front edge. The result is that anything smooth and lightweight which is set down on the top can slide forward and drop to the floor, including freshly folded laundry items. I question how well some features of this model dryer were thought through before the appliance was put on the market.

We went in looking at another unit as our dryer had just gone south, and while the online inventory was incorrect, we walked to the open box stuff and found this dryer for about 60% off! The capacity is larger than we needed but the upside to that is loads dry MUCH faster and more efficiently, cutting down on drying time. The unit is super quiet, with the exception of the musical times when starting or at the end of cycle, which can be turned off. The features are nice and we've noticed a difference in the softness of our clothes compared to the 15 year old unit we had.

I bought this dryer with the matching washer and I am so glad I made this purchase! First of all, they were $70 cheaper than Lowe's prices. Secondly, they are quiet and very efficient! I would definitely recommend!

I needed a dryer that could handle queen sized comforters and blankets and so far this has performed as expected. It’s also fairly easy to operate with the fact that it doesn’t have a myriad of confusing options

I love my new washer and dryer. Because the washer does not have the agitator in the middle, the capacity is so big I can wash all of my linens in one load. Both of them are quiet and efficient, plus they "Look good."

Great capacity, good range of cycles, easy to use. The end of cycle beep is a bit hard to hear, but that is the only problem I've had, and it's a minor one, to be sure. I am very happy with this dryer.

I was surprised at both how well the dryer performs it's function as well as how much capacity it has. For the price paid this was truly the best deal I've ever got at best buy!

This is a VERY efficient and quiet dryer. It is very large. I feel we got a great price at Best Buy and received more than competent help from the sales people there. When we returned to make the purchase after our initial shopping stop there our sales person who was busy with another customer handed us off quickly and courteously, so we could complete our purchase seamlessly with another sales person.

I bought this dryer when I moved into our home without gas connections to my old dryer. It works great, but does not work well with my front loading dryer because the washer set-up is to the right of the dryer. This causes the door of each to open to the middle, making it difficult to reach over the doors to "throw" clean, wet clothes into the dryer. I will be more cautious on my next purchase.

This has been GREAT so far, but it may cause problems with older or neglected duct work! Make sure to use ONLY metal ducting (no plastic) and it would be a good idea to clean your ducts before installation. The dryer would run for 5 minutes and shutdown, this is because the sensors are suggesting there is a clogged lint screen. There were also puddles forming near the vent openings. After cleaning the ENTIRE length of the ducts and repairing the leaks, we're doing GREAT!
