I don't now how this one has missed me so long. For those that missed the limited release this is a perfect chance to get it proper.
There is a nice 5.1 mix as well as the stereo track, and of course it is David Lynch supervised from 2004. Extra are quite nice and there is all kinds of great information (gotta love Crispin Glover and his "method" madness).
As a Lynch fan (becoming obsessive) I can't believe I haven't appreciated Laura Dern more. This is her starring vehicle and and it made me sit up and realize her talent that I have seen oh so many times before and not appreciated fully. She is sexy, heartfelt and most of all, has flaws in her character that I can appreciate. Her real life mom in the movie gives it even more.
Nicholas Cage does it like always, and to describe him is to belittle him. He is a force of charisma that just keeps on giving.
As for the movie as a whole, well let me say this. There is a certain other movie that covers the same ground that was made not too long later that was one of my favorite movies. Isn't it special when you see a movie that influences the other and makes it impossible for you to have the exact same appreciation? This is the blue print, and it is really hard to beat. Prime Lynch in my view, and the "censored" shot, is at least included for reference, though it makes no difference to me since it is what the director wanted in the end.

I wouldn’t rank this extremely high in the Lynch filmography, but it’s a must own for Lynch fans.

I'd never seen this before, and I was surprised at how entertaining it was. It's super weird, which you've come to expect from Lynch, but is also punk rock, which I didn't expect. Super unique and fun.

David lynch never fails to enthrall you and this is no exception. The cover art leaves much to be desired but the movie and transfer are beautiful and that's what really counts.

What a wonderfully weird film! This has been one of my favorites for a long time now, back when Nick Cage made good movies. I already have it on DVD but had to re-buy on blu-ray. Lots of extras that I am looking forward to watching soon on this collector's edition.

I absolutely LOVE this movie. It's a David Lynch movie, so expect it to be a bit off the wall. The movie is a fun, dark comedy. But it won't be for everyone. If you went to Rocky Horror Picture Show and were disappointed because the plot and drama did not live up to your refined cultural tastes, you will probably not enjoy this. But if you like gritty, noir-ish stuff, give this film a shot.
