Super Easy To Install and Use

After seeing that Microsoft would not continue to support Windows XP in the near future, I figured it was time to upgrade operating systems. I was worried about installing a new operating system and how long it would take, but it took maybe 30 minutes from start to finish. I backed up all of my old files from Windows XP (I already did it on an external hard drive), which was a nice surprise. So far, the operating system loads really quick when I first turn on my PC each day, compared to a long wait with XP. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade from an older operating system.

Keep the XP feel with a newer OS.

I wanted to upgrade to a newer, more secure Windows OS (currently using XP) but did not want Windows 8 since that one was basically designed to use with a touch screen monitor which I do not have nor want. Reviews of Windows 8 clinched my choosing to use Windows 7. Also Windows 7 will be supported until 2020. The installation went smoothly and all of the current programs that I need to use continue to run on Windows 7. So if you want a newer Windows OS with the same look and feel of Windows XP, Windows 7 should be a no brainer.

I bought this laptop with WINDOWS 8 installed. Everyone said "Try it, you'll like it". I Tried it and hated it. For what I use my computer for I didn't need all that garbage. (A lot of people I've talked to feel the same way!!) Anyway, I purchased the WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM SP-1 SYSTEM BUILDER and it works great. I am very pleased with it and it's got everything I want. It's easy to use, easy to download things that I want and if there is something I don't want, I can get rid of it

Searched around for an operating system that a first-time computer builder could install with minimal fuss... this was it. A bit nervous that any problems would preclude re-install. Fortunately, we did not have to test that scenario. Computer was booting in just a few heartbeats right out of the box.

I have used XP for so long that I miss some of the features of that version. It's taking time to adjust to the new "extras" but I'll get there.
Just wish some of my older programs operated the same in windows 7.
Lost some printer functions but didn't use them very often anyway. Over all, it's a good product and easy to install. Some programs weren't compatible at all with windows 7 but was able to get something similar as an upgrade.

If you need to run windows this is the easiest way, just use Bootcamp on your Mac and go to town. Let's you start up in either environment and set a default for you favorite.

Very happy I upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista

Had alot of crashing problems with my computer games so it was suggested that I upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista, which I learned is not game friendly. So far so good, I did have to reinstall all of my other programs but I made a list of everything I needed before I started and made sure I had all of my original installation CD's and if programs were downloaded from a website, my login information, which I had to update a few of them.

For people who do not like windows 8, this is a great option, although quite expensive considering a best buy employee had to "take out" windows 8 from my new computer and "install" windows 7. Between the cost of best buy's personnel and the cost of the item itself, it made the computer VERY costly. Too bad Microsoft and best buy can't be more reasonable with their prices. Microsoft just shoved windows 8 on the consumer and this is the only option to "fix" their mistakes.

This is pretty easy to setup there really is not much to it except you must be patient cause it does take some time. I downloaded it to my iMac with the help of some additional software and so far it's been working fine. I'm definitely satisfied with it.

Windows 7 is easy to set up thru the step by step on screen process. But I highly recommend that you write down the activation code first before starting.

My computer crashed - it was Vista. Best Buy helped me salvage the computer by installing this.
Desktop working okay, should get a few more years out of it.

I've used OEM build packs for years. They have changed the way they present things since my last buy and made things even easier to use.

My hard drive, and copy of Win 7 had become corrupted due to a malware attack, so I had to buy this product as a replacement for an OEM disc that was lost during a move. The installation instructions were simple and to the point, and made the reinstallation very easy. The only draw back for me, is that it appears that this disc can only be used to update/upgrade one PC, and the update cycle for a "new" installation took a while to complete. As far as Microsoft products go, Win 7 is a good product.

Great update from Vista

Wanted to get out of Vista, so upgraded to Windows 7. Took some time, but worth it. Runs better than Vista and almost of my programs were compatible. So if you like the familiarity of the older Microsoft OS, you should be happy with Windows 7. I recently went to Windows 8 with a new high end computer and the learning curve was extreme, to say the least.

Win7 vs Win8

If you have a choice between Windows 7 and Windows 8 on a non-touch computer, take Windows 7. We bought a new hard drive & special ordered 7 instead of buying a new computer with Windows 8. Windows 8 is so difficult to use unless you have a touch screen.

With the demise of Win XP and still not liking Win 8, Win 7 was purchased and installed by the Geek Squad under a contract I purchased from them. Biggest problem was lugging the monster Dell desktop in and back. So far so good.

I had to change from Office XP because it is no longer OSHA compliant and I decided to use Windows 7 because Windows 8 is not compatible to any of my existing software. I like using the new Windows and I have had less problems with my computers since buying Windows7.
