The product works as designed. As an IT professional, Win7 is still the OS of choice by businesses across America. I used this product to rebuild a friend's 32-bit Windows Vista system fraught with all the limitations of that terrible Microsoft product. The machine now runs beautifully and my friend is extremely happy with the complete rebuild.

Disc came in a cardboard envlope, NOT plastic box as pictured. Everything still worked fine. COA is on the inside.

Based on the compatibility with my existing programs and on recommendations from my friends, I decided to upgrade my machine from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro. So far, it looks like a great decision. The new OS works with my existing programs perfectly and the learning path to Windows 7 seems to be a lot easier than Windows 8.

I ordered Windows 7 Professional because of all of the great features that Windows 7 has to offer plus the extra security that professional has builtin to the operating system. I am very fond of the ease of use that Windows 7 has to provide it is a very user friendly operating system I believe one of the best Microsoft has ever come up with. my only problem with this purchase is that Microsoft sent the original equipment manufacturers version ... ( OEM ) for that reason I only gave this review 3 stars.

Windows 7 is great and easy to use. Updated an 8 year old PC running Windows Vista . The install process was easy and all of my programs worked with out issue. I highly recommend Windows 7 since its supported for many years to come.

I just built a new gaming machine, I love Windows 7 and feel that it's the best operating system for my desktop computer. If I wanted Windows 10, I would have purchased windows 8.1 and done the free upgrade because it would be the cheapest way. And now here is where you need to be carefull; Microsoft force installs the "Upgrade to Windows 10" system on all computers, I removed it multiple times, and told Windows Update to ignore the update permanently, but it just kept getting installed, even when setting Windows Update settings to download updates, but not to install, as well as setting it to check for updates but don't download or install. The only way to stop it completely was to turn Windows Update off 100%. The way Microsoft is trying to force their new OS on people really makes me wonder why.

Setup was quick enough for me; 27 yr old son didn't think so. Anyway, I'm 60+ and have gone from 1976 command driven computing through DOS (most all of then) all Windows through 7-Pro. So this was a piece-of-cake, ie. Red Velvet Angle Food, to install and use in only a couple of hours for (2) DVD=R/W/RW, multi-card reader, (6) USB ports, NIVIDA video/sound HDMI card, 5.1 Sound Blaster card, (2) cameras ( 1-motion tracking and 1-stationary(Skype) and a few lessor used hardware. Turned old HDD into slave drive instead of transferring everything. Basically, I let it run, read & click when needed and eat pizza.

I haven't bought a Windows upgrade in a long time. Mostly I just buy a new computer, so I wasn't sure how easy it would be. Even though the description is kind of unclear, this is indeed the stand alone upgrade. The web instructions and built-in installer worked perfectly. Hardest part? Waiting for all the updates!

I bought this because I had read that you could get the win xp operating system on it and it is true you can. Have`nt been doing as much with it as I had expected I would but maybe later. Anyway it is a good os.

I feel its a mistake for Microsoft to discontinue Windows 7. Its probably the best system they have come out with since XP. I bought this to upgrade my system from XP and in the process it will allow a Windows 10 upgrade. I think I'll just stick with 7 for now. I'm not so sure about 10.

I run my office with Windows-based computers and I wish they all had windows 7 on them. For the ones that come with Windows 8, I have to uninstall it and install Windows 7 instead. It's just a better OS.

Love the Windows Pro 7 program. It is much easier to use than Windows 8 and less hassle and confusion with all Windows 8 charms. Easy access to. documents.

I highly recommend windows 7 over newer OS due to the simple interface. New OS have too much fluff and useless features.

I could not use Windows 10 because of comparability issues with an older training system. Windows 7 worked great!

Out of all the windows operating systems Windows 7 is still the best hands down for the home user. Why they messed that up with 8 no one will ever know.

With XP support expiring, I needed a replacement operating system. Windows 7 Pro gives me the closest performance to what I'm used to. The packaging seemed to indicate that this was intended only for OEM use in a system to be sold to the end user but, in fact, the package contains everything necessary for an end user to install it directly in her/his own computer – in my case a virtual machine under VMware Fusion on a new cylindrical Mac Pro.

Product arrived in DVD format, with the required activation code. The install was very easy on a HP laptop with a properly formatted hard drive. All drivers were downloaded and copied from HP's support site. Windows 7 Professional replaced Windows 8.1 Home, which I never really liked. That being said, Windows 7 is probably the simplest and most usable operating since Windows XP. My HP laptop now runs like new!

Windows 7 - can't ask for anything better. Too bad it is going EOL soon - hopefully Windows 10 is as good

Well i really wanted to get the windows 7 home premium version but only the professional edition of windows 7 was available at bestbuy.com It definetely does the job well however, i got used to the nice graphics and screen resolution that the home premium version gave. The professional version is pretty much a work horse operating systems and does work very well in multi tasking but the graphics and the screen resolution it provides is pretty bad and can look just a bit blurry, the reason i needed this OS was because i made the Biggest Mistake of upgrading to windows 10 free of charge and once i did that, it actually would freeze, refuse to let me go on the menu screen to try and access my word documents and the only option i had was to forcefully restart my computer. On the other worse side was that my office 2013 programs were very glitchy and about 80% of the time those programs didnt want to work. With that said if you would like to downgrade back to windows 7 this is the only way to go. Dont forget to re purchase microsoft office again because even with the product key you wont be able to get ot back.

This purchase was to upgrade an older computer. It was a good value with fast delivery. Installation was easy.
