I recently purchased the Withings BPM Connect Wi-Fi Smart Blood Pressure Monitor in White/Gray and I have been pretty satisfied with its performance. The device is easy to use and the set-up process was quite simple. The Wi-Fi connectivity feature is convenient as it allows me to sync my readings directly to my phone and keep track of my blood pressure trends over time. The monitor seems to provide accurate readings and the cuff is comfortable to use. The design is sleek and modern, fitting in nicely with my home decor. My only complaint is that the app interface could be a bit more intuitive and user-friendly. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend the Withings BPM Connect to anyone looking for a reliable and modern blood pressure monitor. It's a great piece of technology that helps me stay on top of my health.

The ease of use and reliability make this a fantastic blood pressure cuff. I didn't realize how much I would like the fact that this would test with the push of a button and automatically update my results in the app. That alone is awesome. The compact nature of the cuff along with its easy adjustability is also great. I also appreciate that I can fit my arm in it comfortably, since other cuffs have been too small in the past. Definitely recommend, thank me later. Also I still haven't had to charge it.

This is an excellent BP monitor and it automatically syncs my readings to the Withings app, but also links and automatically displays in my Cronometer app. The battery last extremely long. Really no complaints other than a little pricey.

Ease of use to wrap around and no brainer for wrapping around the arm and wait for the dots to make the magic reading. Sit back relax and let the device take three readings, this is awesome since no one reading is accurate probably. It also shows the Name on the device w/ the readings. I loved it. Superb design of the device and sooting color and makes me to take it often. The sync with iPhone is immediate and the App takes care of managing the history. However, I still find it hard to enable it for others in the family. I waited for a health monitoring device that was compatible with Apple Health and what better time to make the purchase during Thanksgiving. Thank you BestBuy.

So far, so good! Before you use it, read the manual. Lol. I was getting upset because it wouldn’t work right away. You have to “set it up” on your device first. -the strap is pretty big and it pumps really tight. Overall, I like it!

Both myself and my wife have reasons to have a blood pressure machine in our home and for a few years now we have used one by a well known manufacturer that also makes automated, professional equipment for medical facilities. It satisfied our basic needs well, but I was curious to see how one with an eye towards design and style could compete. This product marketed by Withings looks like something Apple would design, sleek and minimalistic. The BPM Connect has a very compact design which makes it easy to work with and easy to travel with - there is no main electronic/pump unit connected to an arm cuff with a long hose as the control unit is attached directly to the arm cuff. Rather than having an AC adapter (“wall wart”) or using disposable batteries, it contains a rechargeable battery and a cord to recharge it via a USB port. It does not come with a charging block however, but this really shouldn’t be an issue for most people nowadays. I’m not sure how long the battery will last between charges as I wrote this review before I had to recharge the unit. When I unboxed it, I went to charge it right away as virtually every rechargeable product recommends you do, but the BPM came fully charged and thus ready to use right out of the box. The box states “Rechargeable battery lasts up to 6 months”. The smartphone app that works with Withings health monitoring devices (they have more than just blood pressure monitors) is called Health Mate and it worked flawlessly on my iPhone and I found it very easy to navigate, view the data collected, and learn the basics of the BPM Connect. The app is nicely designed and intuitive to use. While you could use the BPM Connect without utilizing the smartphone app and it would work just fine, the app really gives you a lot of useful features, such as saving data for multiple users (up to 8 - our old machine had a maximum of 2). You have the option of setting up multiple profiles under one account, or creating multiple accounts (for privacy) and have them all linked to the same blood pressure machine. Both ways have their advantages depending on the needs of the users. To fully understand the operations of the monitor and the app, I had to use the information presented in the app and on the web site - the paper instruction manual by itself does not explain all of the features. Use of the BPM Connect is very straight forward with easy to understand instructions for basic operation in the paper manual, on the app or on the web site. The unit itself has a dot matrix display that scrolls the text when it is longer than the display. To start taking a blood pressure reading, place the cuff on your arm and press the lone button on the unit. It will turn on and after a few seconds display “BP” indicating it is ready to take a measurement. Press the button again and the pump will start inflating the cuff. When the measurement is completed, the display will show your systolic pressure, your diastolic pressure and then your heart rate. It will cycle through these three values three times then move onto the most recent user’s name. You can cycle through all of the different users including “Guest” by a long press on the button. If the last user was “Guest”, the next time the unit is used it does not default to Guest - it will default to the last user that has a profile. I mention this because if you aren’t paying attention you can erroneously save a guest’s data to a regular user’s profile. When you get to your name, quit pressing the button and the unit will display your name a few times and then a check mark displays to indicate the readings have been saved to your profile. The machine then turns itself off. The readings we obtained from this monitor were very similar to the readings of our older monitor, so I have every reason to believe the accuracy of this Withings device. Our healthcare provider does not accept data transmitted from this device so I can’t comment on that feature. The Withings BPM Connect is a nicely designed product, easy to use, and convenient for travelers. It comes with a two year warranty which seems generous until my next point. While my review is accurate in my opinion, and generally positive, there is one glaring issue in my mind. In the paper instruction manual in the “Specifications Technical data” section (on page 19), there is an entry labeled “Product Life”, and that product life is stated to be “3 years”. In my opinion a 3 year life expectancy for a product at this price point is somewhat of a disappointment. But with people replacing their smartphones every couple of years and the overall general advancement of technology, maybe that is the new norm. This device works well, works as intended, and seems to be well constructed. My rating of three stars is based upon the limited life expectancy and the fact that this statement is hidden inside the packaging rather than displayed on the outer box so that a shopper could make their buying decision using this information. I would recommend this device only if I made the person aware of the limited life of the unit.

I am giving Withings BPM Connect a well-deserved 5 stars because of its reading accuracy and ease of use. I am tempted to say that BPM Connect is the first blood pressure medical device I really tust. I took multiple readings in a row without changing my seating position, and the results came back with minor changes. I never had that before with other blood pressure taking devices. To make full use of its capabilities you need to download the "Withings Health Mate" app from the Apple Store (for iPhone devices) or simply get it the app from go.withings.com. Give yourself about 20 minutes for your initial setup of the device as most likely a software update will download on your blood pressure device in addition to Bluetooth pairing with your smartphone and wifi setup (if so desired). The app will prompt you to set up a Health Mate account. If you would like to use your device for multiple users (for example, all your family members; I did so) it takes a bit extra work. You can group them under your Health Mate account (meaning that all users can access the other users' data) or create separate Health Mate accounts if you want to keep each user's data private. To add additional users, in your Heathmate app, select "Profile", scroll down to "Family", touch the "Add" button, and complete the new user's profile information (such as birthday, weight, and height). Taking a measurement is easy as pie: - Unroll cuff and place your arm inside it - Push the button to start BPM Connect - When "BP" shows on the screen, push the button again to start the measurement (Note: "BP" is which is one read, but you can also select triple measurement ("BP x3") with a long press on the button. In the smart phone app you would select how much time there is between readings, for example, 30 seconds) - Push the button of BPM Connect to launch the measurement - At the end of the measurement, the reading results are displayed on the screen. Press the button to validate the measurement. (Note: If you have multiple folks using the same device you need to select the person who took the read: - At the end of the measurement, results are displayed on the screen of BPM Connect. As usual, you would press the button to validate the measurement. - But, press the button again and hold it until the name of your family member appears on the screen, or "GUEST" for anonymous readings.)

The Withings BPM Connect, Wi-Fi Smart Blood Pressure Monitor is a convenient and user friendly device for home monitoring of blood pressure and heart-rate. The BPM automatically uploads those measurements to the free Health Mate app, which is available for both Android and Apple iOS as well as being accessible with a web browser. Uploading of BP data from the BPM Connect digital sphygmomanometer uses either Blue Tooth or Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is needed for initial setup, thereafter Wi-Fi may be utilized for all data transfer. The BPM Connect stores up to 8 sets of BP measurements (or 6 sets of measurements, depending on which version of the User Manual you consult) The automatic transfer of BP data to Withings cloud storage occurs immediately. Withings provides unlimited BP data storage in their cloud. BP readings are immediately displayed on the BP Connects LED display, as well as immediately and automatically synching with the app. The electronics/electromechanical module of the BPM is compact and lightweight, and is permanently attached to the blood pressure cuff. Overall, the BPM outwardly appears to be nicely made and constructed of good quality materials. An advantage of the BPM Connect is that it is completely self-contained; the cuff is not tethered by an air hose to a base unit. The compact size and absence of a separate base unit is what makes this device particularly well-suited for travel, as well as using in any comfortable location in the home. It would be nice if the package included a small case or pouch in which to store and transport the BPM Connect. In addition to taking single BP measurements, the BPM Connect has an Advanced Mode that takes three (3) sequential measurements (at user selectable 30, 60, 90 or 120 second intervals), and presents a single result as the Average of the three measurements. The Health Mate app is a robust Health Tracking app which can store and display data from certain other fitness and health related devices as well as the BPM. It provides a dashboard for up to eight users per account, and analytic capabilities including graphic display of aggregated data over time. When multiple users of a family are sharing a Health Mate account, if an error is made when associating the data to a user, it does not appear that there is any means to re-associate that reading to the correct user. The ability to move records to the correct user would be welcome. Only iOS users can share data with a physician. The app runs in the background on smartphones, and resultantly, may potentially reduce the phone’s battery life. Collected data is also available on the web browser version of Health Mate. All of your data is downloadable on demand from the website and is provided via an email from Withings in a zip file. Individual data records may be appended with user comments. It is a good practice to obtain those files from the website on a regular basis, to ensure that you always have a complete copy of your data preserved, and in your own custody. The classifications of blood pressure levels provided by the web browser version of Health Mate are based on the European Society of Cardiology management of arterial hypertension, and 2013 Guidelines of the European Society of Hypertension, not the new, revised, American Heart Association guidelines which have lower thresholds for each stage of elevated blood pressure or hypertension. Fortunately, the classifications of blood pressure levels provided by the smartphone app (Android) are based on the new, American Heart Association guidelines (2017). Thus, you should use the guidance provided by the phone app, rather than the web browser. Additionally, both the AHA and ESC guidelines are printed in the BPM Connect User Guide (pp. 21 & 22). There is a discrepancy between the printed User Guide and the Withings website regarding battery life for the internal, rechargeable battery. The Manual claims up to 2 months of use, while the Website claims up to 6 months on a single charge. The 5v, 1 amp battery is charged with the included USB charging cable. It is rather surprising to see micro-USB in 2019, given the proliferation and popularity of USB-C connectors on new devices. That estimate of battery life appears to be optimistic. The male micro-USB plug does not seat fully, or snugly in the USB jack on the device. Data security and privacy for personal identifying information as well as BP records is only addressed by a limited Privacy Policy Statement. Data is purportedly stored on European Union based servers, although there is a disclaimer that servers may be located anywhere internationally. Clinical accuracy of digital sphygs has been the subject of several scientific/medical studies, and has been reported in the medical literature. There is some disparity and disagreement among the data and conclusions of the studies with some reporting that digital devices were found to be accurate, while others reported that they generally failed to meet accuracy standards. However, the sphygs that are generally best suited for unassisted blood pressure measurements are the digital devices such as the BPM Connect. Both mercury and aneroid sphygs utilize auscultation; that is, the Korotkoff sounds produced by the compression of the artery with the inflated and subsequently deflated cuff bladder are heard with a stethoscope to accurately determine systolic and diastolic pressures. Digital sphygs utilize the oscillometric method wherein an electronic sensor detects vibrations (oscillations) in the artery, and proprietary algorithms are employed to estimate systolic and diastolic pressures from the differences in measured pulse pressures. The accuracy debate remains unsettled. The accepted threshold for device accuracy is +/- 5mm Hg, or less, as established by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation guidelines (AAMI, 2008). Many manufacturers specify that the maximum error of measurement at pressure should not exceed +/- 3mm Hg. The Withings BPM Connect Manual claims accuracy of +/-3mm Hg. There are neither calibration nor validation procedures included in the Withings instruction documents. I have not yet validated the accuracy of the BPM Connect with a known accurate reference-standard sphyg. Withings is based in France, and all standards referenced in their material are European standards. The product is designed in France and manufactured in China. The adjustable cuff on the BPM is claimed to fit arms ranging from 9” to 17”, which accommodates a large segment of the adult population because it encompasses three (3) BP cuff sizes, Small Adult, Adult and Large Adult. The instructions direct the user to use the BPM on only their left arm. There are often deviations between left and right arm blood pressure measurements, and medical practitioners will frequently take multiple measurements on both arms for diagnostic purposes (particularly during an initial consultation), as a large deviation (10mm Hg, or more) may be clinically important and could be indicative of arterial occlusion or other conditions. Generally, the arm which produces the higher BP readings is typically used for ongoing diagnostic purposes thereafter. It would be preferable if the BPM could be used bilaterally. The left arm only restriction also dictates that this sphyg is contraindicated for patients who should not have blood pressure cuffs or other tourniquets applied to the left arm. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to patient with lymphedema in the left arm or injury to that limb. The printed Instruction Manual which accompanied the BPM states that the Product Life is Three (3) Years. It begs the question of why the useful life of the BPM is limited to three years? Three years seems awfully brief for life expectancy of a sphyg or for any electronic device. Withings Customer Service confirmed the relatively short 3 year life span, and only provided the very general (and obvious) explanation that the life-span depends on usage. The Warranty for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship is 2 years (but does not warrant that the device will be error-free, i.e. accuracy). It is disappointing that the life-span of the BPM Connect may only be 3 years. Familiarization with the BPM Connect requires just a few minutes. The Withings website is replete with information, instructions, guidance and support information. Once the app has been installed on the smartphone, your Withings account has been created and the BPM Connect has been paired with the smartphone via Bluetooth and attached to your Wi-Fi network (which is optional), you are ready to start taking blood pressure measurements. The most apparent advantages of the BPM Connect include the very compact profile, which also affords great portability and ease of use. Additionally, the automated uploading of data from the BPM Connect to the cloud where it may be accessed with the Health Mate smartphone app or web browser interface is extremely convenient. Users of other smart technology health maintenance devices (i.e. scales, thermometers, etc.) will appreciate the good data integration capabilities of the Health Mate app, as well.

I am so glad that I got the Withings BPM Connect Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor. The first thing a BP monitor needs to be is accurate, but part of being accurate is being easy to use. Of course, a BP monitor has to be well constructed and contain high quality technology. However, if you can’t get a BP monitor properly placed or it frustrates you as you’re trying to use it, your readings will be off. Everything about the Withings BPM Connect is conducive to easy, calm usage, and based upon comparisons with my previous BP monitor and the readings in my physician’s office, its readings are accurate. The ease begins with the setup. The instructions in the packaging gave me the website address for the Health Mate app and instructions, and from there it was just a few minutes of downloading and button pushing – very intuitive and user friendly. The BPM Connect device, itself, is also very user friendly. I simply slip it onto my arm – the only thing to remember is to have the “on” button closest to my hand, not my shoulder – and snug up the band. Then I push the “on” button and wait the few seconds it takes for a reading. The reading is immediately displayed on the device, then it is accessible via the Health Mate app. The BPM Connect device also is compact, making it easy to keep in my bedside table or pack for travel. Perhaps the best thing is the Health Mate app. I have an iPhone and 2 iPads. I have installed some other brands of health monitor apps, but none of those apps provides cross-device syncing. For example, if I enter a blood glucose reading on one device, it does not display on the others. Sounds like a small thing, but it ruins the very convenience and portability I want from this Bluetooth and Wi-Fi world. The Health Mate app solves this problem. It syncs data with the BPM Connect device via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so I can track my data history on any of my Apple devices. In addition, my physicians can download the data for their records. This works not only for the BPM Connect, but also for Withings’ other types of monitors, making it easy to track several aspects of one's health in one place. I have attached some photos from Withings’ website that shows typical readouts for someone using several types of Withings monitors.

I have the body plus scale for years no issues so i wanted a bpm system. Brought this yesterday and app says 0% battery. Charged it 2 hours still 0%. Overnight still 0%. Attached to a powerbank. When pressed a rectangular button with three dots flashes in the middle. Returning this today maybe for another one or a complete different company. If it cannot run of an external power source and only the internal battery then the life cycle is 3 years which is unacceptable.
