The game is a huge upgrade from the wii u version with new content and nicer visuals. If you like Xenoblade at all you’ll most likely enjoy this title.

A decent entry in the Xenoblade series, but cutscenes are held back by Switch 1 hardware. Here's hoping for a smoother experience on Switch 2!

Let me first by saying the game is fine. I'am so tired of receiving damaged stuff from best buy at this point. Someone needs to be held accountable for this shat. Granted the added bonus is they did put it in a box this time hooray....

Ever since my Wii U crashed and I wasn't able to fix it. I had been wanting to play this game. I was so happy when it was announced that it was coming to the Switch. The game plays better then I remember it. Very nice approvements to various quality of life features. The only thing I have an issue with is that it currently doesn't have amiibo support. I was able to get the pre-order bonus.

I would give this a one-star, not because the game is bad because it literally is a masterpiece in gaming interactive entertainment; it's just the fact that I too did not receive my pre-order bonus of the mini metal poster and stand as advertised which is false advertisement and false promotion! I did store pickup, I have an email stating I would have received this mini metal poster along with the stand if I pre-ordered and I even have the confirmation stating I would receive this pre-order bonus.. but upon picking up my order at the store the pre-order bonus was not included, which is false advertisement! For that reason I should give it a one-star because of the customer service and the false advertisement which I was continuing to look into, but I'm giving it a five-star because the game is literally of the upper echelon of video games! Please enjoy the game, and maybe don't do video game purchases with Best Buy.

    Mira: A Wonderous World

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is one of the best modern displays of an open world. While it's story is often lacking, it more than makes up for it with fairly good side quests, and exploration nearly unparalleled. The combat is intricate having many options to choose from in terms of play style. You can make every weapon type in the game work solidly if you know what you're doing. And there is plenty of build opportunities to explore among the 12 base weapons types as well as the secret 13th. Ultimately I've put in well over 100 hours into Xenoblade X Definitive Edition. And while I personally would call it the weakest in the series, being the weakest game in one of the best game series out there is by no means an insult. If exploration and side content are your thing, Mira is 100% the place to go. With 5 very expansive continents hosting hundreds of quests and interesting things to find, you'll have no shortage of adventure. Add to that the brilliant Skell system and eventual flight, and you get my personal favorite open world exploration experience. I would 100% recommend this game to lovers of adventure and side content. If story is more your thing, I'd still say give this game a shot. But you can not ignore the side content. It's what really adds weight and connection to the characters that adds any real impact to the plot. If you don't feel like doing that. I'd advise you check out one of the other Xenoblade games! As they all have rich stories with messages that can truly change you if you're open to it. Overall, for me personally Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is a 5/5! And I would very much recommend it.

It's fundamentally the same game from the Wii U but with some QOL updates and a bit of new content. They updated the art style for the human characters to more closely align with the art style from XBC2, XBC3 & XBCDE. The UI has been updated by making text larger, & thus easier to read, as well as altering the arts menu in battle to make it easier to determine which arts you should use. Online has been altered to make it easier to gather materials. 3 new party members have been added to the game, one of which was an NPC in the original version, along with a new model of Skell (the in-game mech suits you gain the use after a certain point in the story). There has also been a new chapter added to the story after the original ending. If you enjoyed the other Xenoblade games, or JRPGs in general, you'll enjoy this game. It's a great game that had been stuck on a poorly selling console (Wii U) that failed due to bad marketing and consumer misunderstanding. It's now free to get the audience it deserved on a successful console.

This game has a truly massive open world (150 square miles, ten times the size of Skyrim). The story is not the fantastical hero's journey you might expect from an RPG, but there is a big cast of colorful characters and fun dialog. The combat is sort of like an MMO, with melee and ranged auto-attacks to choose from, and a set of skills on cooldown timers. Combat can seem a little obtuse at first but is fairly engaging and rewarding as you get better at it. The real pull of this game is in the sense of constant progression, and the satisfaction of exploring this huge world. Several chapters in, you get access to a mech (giant robot) that is a complete game-changer for traversal and battle. Overall this is a very fun sci-fi romp that you can easily sink 100+ hours into.

A "Single Player" MMO like Masterpiece

The ultimate sci-fi game on the switch filled with wonderful exploration, customization, characters, and story. A near endless amount of missions to do, secret "super" bosses to defeat, and gear to find/create. The music is also incredibly catchy(the vocal tracks especially) Theres also a multiplayer component that allows you to hire other player's characters for your party as well as being able to take on extra missions and even more extremely tough bosses for better rewards. Oh and I can't forget about the stellar art direction/graphics. This is one of the best looking switch games. The environments, skyboxes, and texture work is phenomenally done. If you're a fan of Xenoblade Chronicles, jrpgs, or the sci-fi genre this is a must play game. It's my game of the year so far.

I have only played about 4 hours yet. So this isn't a complete review in a way at this point. The story is pre-dating the time from the previous Xenoblade Chronicle ones, and that way it explains the beginning of the series. The graphics are - as with the other Xeboblade games looking great, and the story is so far nice. Interesting to see how this continues! The control in a fight is similar to the other games, as well as the highlighting of the characters in the game with levels. One thing which I like is that in case you didn't get to the next story point and you die, your character goes back to the recent check point, however - you apparently do not have to re-do all the things you have done to that point.

Absolutely phenomenal game. I got this for my friend and a Nintendo switch online card. We did a ton of online missions together and I shared my character with him and helped boost him up. The game itself has a very strong story and is open world. A lot of it is told in side content so if you only do the main story it will feel different. The game also gates the overdrive mechanic fr 1/4th of the way through the game, the skells(mechs) until about halfway through the game, and then adds flying about 3/4ths of the way through. All of these radically change the game feel. I could go on forever but the game is complex, rewarding, and has elements of incremental progression games.
