So I decided to buy my modem / router to not pay the $10 a month to rent it over two + years as I hate the added fees with cable. Pays for itself in ten months. So we will see.

I already owned a DOCSIS 3 modem but it did not have directly connected telephony support, which is needed for Xfinity telephone service. Without this capability, Xfinity will downgrade your package when you try to activate, and you will lose any package discounts.
This modem seems as fast as my other, albeit physically smaller cable modem, I can actually get peak DL speeds of 108Mbps from my 105Mbps service. It is multi-channel for both up and downstream, which is a necessity for faster connections.

let me start by saying that when it comes to computers & hardware I am pretty knowledgeable.I Purchased this on the recomendation of Xfinity. Once I Installed it my internet speeds dropped as low as .05mbs which is unusable. I had a comcast technician come out and after two hours she basically said that the single channel router/ cable & telephone modem combo is designed poorly and they have been having alot of problems with them. After reprogramming the wifi router, she was able to inrease the speeds up to 10mbs which is still unaccepable since I was paying for 50mbs. I ended up having to rent the dual channel model which has been working great. I would not purchase this if internet speeds are of any importance to you. My problem was primarly due to overcrowding on the 2ghz frequency in my area. 2ghz is the most commonly used frequency therefore can be overcrowded.

Easy to install, working well. Doesn't increase speed, but I don't think it was supposed to. Would recommend this product

Purchased wireless router and cable modem combo for new Comcast service. Worked from the moment we plugged it in!! Totally unlike other experiences when I was told "can't get it to work, you will have to lease ours at $10+/month. That can really add up, so I am happy this is working great and I only have to pay once!!

This was the only modem/router offered with the telephone ports that were needed for my parents house that still has a landline. It works as promised and Best Buy matched the lower online price without hassle.
As long as Best Buy continues the policy of matching online pricing they have me as a very loyal shopper!

Great purchase. I'm so glad I bought this combo, no I no longer need to rent the same exact thing from Comcast. Everyone should purchase their own combo and save money.

I purchased this modem to replace the one that I was renting from Comcast. It is the exact same modem (for internet and telephone). It was very easy to install. Worked right away with no problems. Been using it for over a month now and no problems.

I bought this one to replace the rental unit provided by Comcast. We can get even after 18 month of use. Easy to install and work over a month without any issue so far.

It was a purchase to save $10 a month on my comcast bill. Kind of overpriced and just needed a modem with phone line. I dont even use the wifi on it since an external router would perform so much better. So I bridged an Airport extreme to it and it performs so much better.

Purchased this unit to replace a rented modem/router. It works fine and was relatively easy to install. I did need to involve Comcast to complete the set up process.

This got pricey since I bought this a modem/router and bridged as a modem only to work with my high end router.

I purchased the modem so that I would avoid future monthly rental charges from my cable company. It's integrated router reaches further than its replacement. It has DOCSIS 3.0 capability and routinely achieves OOKLA Speedtest upload rates of 29+ MBPS on guaranteed 25 MBPS service and download rates of 6+ MBPS on guaranteed 5 MPBS upload service. Its Ethernet cable connections support IPV6. Its online interface is easy to use. My cable provider had difficulty registering it into their system but eventually succeeded.

This compatible Xfinity modem saves me $8/month in rental fees and performs better than the rental unit, You much call on a cell phone to activate and let them know you have a netgear or other WiFi router so they can put a firewall up on the modem WiFi or you'll get a conflict between the modem WiFi and the router WiFi resulting in a day or two to reactivate your devicel

No longer have to pay rental from my cable company for their modem. This is the same one they provide. It will pay for its self in a little over a year. Just like money in the bank. Easy installation for a 69 yr. old female.

Unpacked, plugged in, fired up. Quick call to Comcast, and I was ready to go. Bought this particular device, as I needed the telephone connection. Not the cheapest, but I'm happy to pay a little more to avoid setup hassles.

Easy setup and installation. The telephony modem works well. It's also the only option available for the cable/internet/telephone combination.
