So I had a dieing r9 270x from best buy and this was an upgrade from that and first let me say i got this card on an absolute steal from one of the coolest memebers of staff at best buy i've ever met and i can't thank the guy enough for hooking me up. I went to bestbuy looking to get the r9 390 and walked out with the 390x at the price i was looking to get the r9 390 at so i was naturally stoked. With that said i had to overclock it and i did and it's ranked in the top 102% for the overclock program i used to check the performance of the entire pc which is userbenchmark.exe and it benches everything on the pc and it will compare it against other computer's and it's running stable with the core clock at 1100mhz and the memory clock at 1700mhz with the core voltage at +56 and the power limit at +25% now than with all that said i used msi afterburner to figure out that overclocking method and it took alot of trouble shooting to come up with those figures this was not my first go around at overclocking so i knew what i was doing when i did it also did some reading on some similar over clocks before going into it so had a general idea of where i should be placing the overclock and and testing from there now i do suggest a few things to anyone looking to get this card first get a 850w power supply if you want to overclock this card i could go higher with my overclock but am limited by my power supply atm which is a 750w corsair cx750m which is a great powersupply for the money but i wish i had dished out the extra 20$ for the 850w now just for the extra power. but anyway the card overclocks awesome i'm not using the card for 4k gaming or anything of that nature i run three monitors 2 1080p lenovo 23" monitors and 1 47" vizio 1080p tv and it runs them flawlessly now with that said i game moderately but i will tell you i'm limited by my cpu in this build so some people my get better results than i have with that said my cpu is an amd 6350 so it's a 6 core cpu clocked at 4.2ghz on a 970 motherboard so it's also an older chipset with an ok cpu. but with all that said i got some good gaming results fire strike adverage score in three tests was 8847 now again this was only limited by my cpu which even the test states at the end of it. the next test i ran was tomb raider on ultra settings which gave me an fps of 24fps and didn't move from that so i'm not to sure if it's not optimized or what but moving on to something more real league of ledgends average fps was 321fps-245fps only dropping to 201fps in team on team fights was pretty impressive actually while streaming and diablo 3 i was adveraging 114-145fps everything maxed out even in HUGE fights on greater rifts and alot of explosions which looked INCREDIBLE my screens with this new card. all and all it doesn't have the performance of my little brothers gtx 980 kingpin edition but for almost 200.00 less than his card and im getting about the same fps as his card i think it was well worth the money amd still has some kinks to work out on drivers but i highly suggest this card if your looking for an upgrade. It is a big card but it is absolutely beautiful if you ask me but the photos speak for them self so enjoy included is a look inside my pc with the card installed and a proof of the overclock on msi afterburner.

Performs awesome for gaming, but you need to insure you have lots of space to keep it cool. It's very hot. I have mine in the ASUS M32BC-B01, and I needed to install an additional fan to pull the heat away from the card. Otherwise, it is a great card for the price point. Expect to play your games on their highest settings. A side note: Don't buy this card for the free "Dirt Rally" game on the box. AMD provides a URL in the box. The site asks for a code provided by Best Buy. Best Buy doesn't provide one and no one in the store has a clue. No free game to play on this awesome card.

After 1 Year, Bought Another To Double Up

To start, when I bought one black friday 2015, I had planned to buy another one. But after a year, I still followed through with that plan. VR Ready? Technically. 4K Resolution? Yup 4K Gaming? Really Depends. Testing went through a couple phases. We have a few (4) custom built computers lying around. My wife has the 4k screen so we tossed it in hers first. Paired up with an i7-6700k and 16gb of ram. Running the editing software she uses on the two screens (1x4K, 1x1080p) seemed to have no problems. Cuttting down to just the 4k screen and running Wticher 3 max settings, things seemed to get a bit chunky and frame rates dipping into the teens. So it will get the 4k, but I don't think it will truly game at 4k on some of the more demanding games. Currently it lives in my rig. Asus 990FX r2.0, 32GB RAM @1866MHz, Fx-9370 @4.4GHz On the single card, 3DMark Fire Strike was receiving a score of 8720, Fire Strike Ultra got an overall 2735 ( For reference, Ultra lists Vive/Rift Minimum spec score of 2596. So technically the single card is enough to VR, but just barely. I mostly game on a BenQ 2K 144Hz monitor. I've been playing fallout 4, witcher 3, Skyrim, etc, maxing settings on 2K. With freesync enabled, I've held constant frames of 60Hz with no dip. Oculus rift was, as expected, toned way down, and till got some major frame rate drops if there was a lot of passive movement while looking around. Tossing in the second card, with crossfire enabled, Fire Strike/Ultra overall scores were 11,080 and 4338 respectively. As expected, graphics score basically doubles, physics score increase was next to nothing (10 points), combined score saw about a 70% gain, allowing for that roughly 60% gain on the overall score. Running Oculus, decent settings with no frame/chunky issues. Tossing the two into my wife's computer and we gamed for about 30 minutes at 4k with 30-40FPS. Some of my short comings on the scores are, of course, the DDR3 Ram and last gen AMD processor. Looking forward to seeing what gains I can get running with a Zen/Ryzen after they launch. All in all, a great GPU. Now that the 400s are out, great bang for you buck on the price. and the 8GB card can take just about anything you throw at it on it's own, two of them chews everything up.

There is no game that I own that this card cannot max out even in 3 monitor Eyefinity mode. The 8gb of gddr5 memory that Amd built into this card is absolutely astonishing, considering Nvidia's flagship card the GTX 980TI only comes with 6gb and now costs twice as much. I can run ultra graphics and 100+ mods in Skyrim and never skip a beat. A+++ AMD!!!

It appears to have flaky drivers. I purchased this for the release of Just Cause 3. I installed it and the newest drivers. Performance was bad. My processor was not fast enough, so I got an 8 core 4.0GHz processor to solve that. Still I had graphics problems. It seemed I had a perfect triangular checkerboard display in all terrain, triangles that showed correctly and beautifully and triangles that did not. I found in a Just Cause 3 forum that beta drivers existed, but nothing from AMD. Tried to install them with AMD's software on my pc, but it only took me to their website to install. This install put multiple items on my pc, there was no way to only download the drivers. So I ran it. I installed the whole thing, rebooted, and AMD's program did not recognize. So I uninstalled the drivers, restarted, reinstalled, still nothing. new drivers released Tuesday, until then, I was never able to confirm the beta drivers installed, but my graphics problems would come and go.

Upgraded from hd 7850. This card was more than a 100% increase in performance from my 2012 card. Fans are a little noisy but only when it's working hard. Card does get hot, but it's made to. Does better in some aspects than the gtx 980, and worse in some others. Bought because of bestbuy's lifetime warranty.

This is way cheaper than a GTX 980 and in some Games it does better. I have had no issue's with this card. The only thing I wish XFX had software suite like MSI , The AMD software is cool but I still love MSI afterburner way better.

The video card has lots of power for video games and multi-screens. Very quiet and i got the latest video drivers. It works great and booted up correctly the first time. No complaints here. Well worth the upgrade from the 280x series. Also, got a bonus Dirt game with purchase!

I Bought this card to replace my old GTX 660. Although it's a very powerful card, compatible drivers seem to be lacking in some games. Unless AMD releases more drivers, 4 star should be where it is

I'll be Honest I bought 2 and I have them Crossfire this enables me to play basically anything on max specs I want The only issue I seem to have run into is I didn't realize that my MB doesn't have to 16PCI slots it has a 4X and a 16X so I am not even close to ustilizing the max potential of these cards and still i'm getting great frame rates on games like Fear Fear 2 Crysis 2 Half Life 2 episode one also got a game called the went to the rapture which is a graphic intensive game that I can play at max settings however the frame rate drops to around 30 to 40 FPS I'm about to load Witcher 3 the wild hunt and see how that runs since it is 4k ready as well. so far I like these cards even though they are similar to the 290X I like this one for it's higher base specs there is argument that it's not great enough to be worth the cost but since I've got two and overclocked one I'm pretty positive I'm getting much better performance out of it than possible with the 290X the card some complain about noise? I don't notice it but I don't sit next to it either it's across the room. I've had this a little over a month and came up on it to first off I got it on a steal for 389.99 second the card is super powerful and drives my 47"tv and 2 23" monitors at 200+fps in most games at 1080p. Only downside is it killed a msi gaming motherboard popped a capacitor that controlled the pci express lane some how and the power needed to drive it is a lot it says a 750w power supply min I wouldn't suggest anything under 850w it's a beast it killed 3 power supply's before I finally got a corsair 850w one that is standing the test of this hog do not and I'll repeat this DO NOT. Use a 600w power supply to power this you will damage the card or your system it killed a thermal take 850w psu a evga 600w and a corsair 750w power supply all within a week from popping capacitors in the power supply. So ultimately go with a more powerful I have it overclocked at 1100mhz 1700mhz on the memory and I can't remember the power additions I did but there's some you can do and as stated before most games will run from 60-200fps on very high to ultra settings I'm limited by my cpu at the moment but that's going to change

First thing to know is that you will need a good solid power supply – 750 W is what I have. Running tests with a UPS that tells me how much wattage is in use, this card draws about 100 W more than my old AMD HD 6800 when I'm running a resource intensive game. You will also want to have excellent ventilation in your computer case otherwise it's going to get hot in there. Love this card - performance is excellent.
