Customers are saying

Customers love the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56's performance and GPU, citing excellent performance in many games, even at high resolutions. However, some users experienced high temperatures and noticeable fan noise, while others noted high power consumption and occasional clock speed instability. Concerns were also raised regarding the memory modules used in some versions. Despite these drawbacks, many found the card's performance to be a worthwhile upgrade.

    Great 1440P card

I bought this card as an upgrade from my ASUS Fury. As good as the Fury cards were, they were limited by their 4GB HBM Vram. I needed more Vram for 1440p and 4K and I wanted to stick with Radeon to utilize my Freesync monitor. The only option was going Vega so I chose this XFX Vega 56 8GB. I am very satisfied with this card and it is very powerful. My friend has a GTX 1070 and this card competes well and often beats it. I think Vega will mature better in the long run vs Nvidia current line up as well. The only thing I can knock this card for is the relatively high power usage compared to a competing equivalent but it isn't that much higher. The core clock tends to fluctuate quite a bit as well and I rarely see it lock in to the advertised speed. It hovers between 1440 - 1500 most often, instead of 1590Mhz. Not sure if this is something on my end or by design but the card hasn't let me down yet in practice and gaming. Bought this card for $339 on sale. This card preforms amazing for the price I paid compared to what else is on the market. I can game comfortably at 2k resolution low-med settings and push 120fps. 1080p on high/epic settings at 144fps all day every day. This card has a red LED ‘XFX’ logo on the side that can be seen from the side of your case if you have a see-through side panel, this was a very nice additional feature as I did not know it came that way before I bought it. Has zero enhancement to the card but cool touch if you’re into all the lights in your PC. Overall, would definitely recommend to a friend for a budget/moderate build. You can not beat this card for the price! Side note, if you aren’t trying to game in 4K, go with this card over the Vega 64. Less money and less TDP.

    Best GPU

Honestly this GPU is so good. i could run Rainbow six siege and fortnite and every game at the highest settings and still get around 200 frames. This GPU is a literal beast. Some reviews say it heats up badly but it really doesn't. You just have to download the MSI Afterburner Software and boost your fan speed to around 75. The GPU will stay very cool. 10/10 must buy for sure.

Thermal HotSpot Temp can exceed 100c. Horrible for mining even with undervolting. Fans are cheap, difficultly in getting them to spin up to max speed. Fine for gaming but if you monitor all your temps you will see this card gets ridiculously hot,I have seen temps as high as 115c before shutting them down.

If you looking for a great budget 1440p card this it it. Most games run at over 100fps with most settings maxed. Only a few games do i have to dial back a setting or two to high or medium to achieve over 100fps. Haven't had any heat issues as i just increase the fan speed with Wattman.

this card has a really nice cooling setup compared to refrence cards with single fan, the card isn't oc but definitely has cooling system for it, stock core clock 1590 and mem 800. 2 8pin connectors in middle of card. The cards back plate is badazz, looks good. Overall this vega56 was best deal. Don't worry about ugly fans, u can't see them.

This card is indeed amazing, however, if you do not upgrade your processor, you're gonna have a bad time. I had an FX 6300 when I upgraded to this card but I just had to buy a Ryzen 5 1600 in order to offset the massive bottleneck I had. It was so bad that with an FX 6300 I was experiencing a 35% bottleneck for the Vega. Do keep in mind this specific version of the Vega 56 requires a larger PSU. I believe the regular Vega 56 only needs a 650 watt, but this one needs a 750 watt. I've been NVIDIA since at least 2007 and this is the first AMD card I've purchased in clearly over a decade and consider me impressed. The Radeon software is wonderful but could use more optimization options.

This XFX Vega 56 is still an amazing performer in 2019. It goes head to head against a gtx 1070 Ti. Although it is a very power hungry card you can undervolt it and then proceed to overclock it to get an even better efficient card. Absolutely recommended.

Got this for my Hackintosh. Works great out of the box. Got tired of waiting for Nvidia to update the Mac Drivers for Mojave, which will probably not happen for a while. Replaced my 1070 FTW. I don't game as much but the Vega 56 only slightly trails the 1070 on the windows side. On the Mac side, the Vega 56 out performs the 1070 by light years. The improvement in performance is well worth the transition.

Defective unit, only owned the unit for about 10 days. I'm not a miner, I primarily used this card for gaming. The first day with this card, I was already having issues. When the card would start drawing in power, the fans would go up (normal) , but then there was this whining noise which was unbearable. The second issue I had with the card was that it was very bad for gaming, I owned an RX-580 prior to this and I would say it almost ran worse at times. I would try to play a game (ie. Fortnite / Call of Duty) and the frame rates would suffer and was unstable around 40fps. The only way to make it stable was to turn on freesync. I was testing it without freesync to push the card , had I had a regular monitor I'm pretty sure it would've done the same. This card was just overall terrible and I would never decide to go with XFX Vega lineup again; their XFX RX-580 I owned worked like a charm compared to this junk of a graphics card.

Card runs hot all the time. Performance is slightly better than a AMD 580. Personally, I don't think that the performance is worth the price. Additionally, VEGA 56 tend to be very temperamental and unstable at normal settings, so don't think that you can overclock it to get better performance.

I chose this card as freesync-over-HDMI is still exclusively supported by AMD, and the PC this was meant for is my HTPC hooked up to a Samsung NU8000 55" 120hz Freesync display, which has no DP input. This card kept crashing the PC at idle, under load, in the BIOS, you name it, whenever I felt static discharge from my finger, even to an unrelated object like my fridge in another room. After replacing my PSU, case, RAM and GPU expecting shorts from defective hardware and no change. Even the RMA'd GPU had the same problem! I ended up testing with 2 different older GPUs and no issues at all so I exchanged this item for a 2070 and its been 24 hours and plenty of shocks with no issues whatsoever.

I wasn’t too sure about buying this after reading the reviews. I’ve had it about a week now and it’s been great. Stays under 60c, runs very well on 4K medium. Using it with a free sync monitor and it’s beautiful.

I replaced my rx 580 for this card. Although it runs a little hotter, but with the improved memory used in the rx vega 56, it runs two times faster than the rx 580, putting it on par with a 1070 or 1080.
