Let me start this review by saying that I would consider myself a decently tech savvy person, so when looking for a portable projecfor to buy, the XGIMI Halo + was up against the Samsung Freestyle 2. I initially purchased the freestyle but it fell short of my expectations. So, I traded it for the Halo +. Here’s all my PROS and CONS.
PROS:
- Decently bright for the price point
- Auto Keystone and option for manual zoom
- Tripod mount on the bottom
- Compact and well built
- Multiple ports including a HDMI, Audio, and USB port
- Pause/Play and Volume Up/Down buttons on the top
- Can detect movement and will automatically keystone and focus
- Internal battery
- Remote interface is simple and has the ability to toggle focus adjustments by flipping a switch on the remote and using the volume Up/Down buttons.
- When on sale, price was $650 (Black Friday 2023)
- Speaker is pretty good for being internal
CONS:
- You CANNOT turn it on via the remote if you shut the unit down completely, only if you “hibernate” it.
- When turning it on after a complete power down, you have to manually press the button on the unit. NOT TUE REMOTE, AS MENTIONED ABOVE.
- Auto keystone is mostly accurate, but i’ve found I have to also manually tweak it after. (not a big deal, just annoying if you move it)
- NO COMPATIBILITY WITH NETFLIX (this is odd, but there was an included pamphlet included which I presume allows you to watch it.
- Remote is often slightly laggy and I sometimes have issues with it not working.
- I personally find the android TV under interface to be inferior to something like Samsungs Tizen OS, or something like a ROKU. The home screen just looks busy in my opinion.
CONCLUSION:
Overall this projector exceeded the Samsung Freedtyle 2 in many ways. I have my Halo + mounted on a tripod I found at Best Buy on clearance. This allows me to stand it in a corner and I can have it lifted higher. This helps avoid it having to keystone the Up/Down angles from pointing it at a lower point. The device does a good job at focusing on most of the projected area. If you’re pointing it and an angle and not directly at a wall/screen, the far side tends to be a tad blurry. I would assume this is normal so I don’t deduct any points for this. Overall I would say this is a great buy if you’re wanting to step into the world or projectors and still get a decent all-in-one device. Coming from someone who had no experience in these type of devices, it was easy to setup and use. Included are 2 pictures. One is the projector in a slight lit area, and the second is in a dark bedroom. Obviously the brightness is best in a dark setting but i’ve found it can actually show a decently bright image with some light.

The product arrived on time, Image quality is really good and the sound quality is great for this size projector. prior purchase, I compared nebula capsule 3 and Samsung freestyle, with halo+ which is much brighter at similar prices.
I can download desktop manager from plays tore where you can find Netflix and useful apps like apple mirror (no Ads, what a nice surprise). I can't believe that Halo+ use Harman Kardon speakers, WOW!!! It feels Amazing to watch movies. And, it has intelligent obstacle avoidance and auto keystone correction, very easy to setting up.
I use the HDMI input play PS5 with my wife and kids, The game running very smooth and no lag.
Highly recommended this projector, high-quality, high-tech, worth to have it.

The picture turned yellow within 4 months of weekly use. The company has terrible costumer service, I've been fighting them for either a refund or a new projector for a week and nothing has been done they are just giving me the run around. Buy the 50 or 100 dollar ones and hook your laptop up to it that will last you years. The people who think its a great projector are using it very infrequently. I repalced my tv with this and am very disappointed. I was going to just say it was a fluke and move on because the sound is excellent and it was a great projector till the bulb broke, but with this horrible customer service please get anything else. This company will not hold true to its warrantee. Its a great overpriced speaker for me now and there's nothing I can do about it. Learn from my mistake please.

I highly recommend everyone to buy this product. It's very easy to use and I understood most of the settings within 10 minutes. This projector uses a Harman Kardon speaker, the sound quality is very good, and the brightness and clarity of the picture are very suitable for home or outdoor portability. The most worth mentioning is that this projector has auto keystone correction function which saved me a lot of time. Generally speaking, XGIMI is of the highest quality in terms of appearance design, sound quality and image quality. It has been such a huge quality of life improvement for me.

I knew this projector would be great but the picture was definitely better than I'd expected. We haven't tried the 3D yet but we did buy some glasses! People rave about the speakers on this one. They were slightly less awesome than I'd hoped but I wasn't sure what to expect since I didn't have anything to compare it to. They definitely aren't the worst speakers and I'm guessing they're awesome for projector speakers. We have a Bluetooth speaker that works great. That and a 120" screen in full HD we are LOVING our movie nights!!!!!! Oh and the auto and manual screen adjustments are awesome. Much better and easier than we expected. Also love that it has so many apps without using our fire stick!

I was shopping for a projector I could use with my Theater performances. This is the brightest of all the portable projectors I found. It is basically made for android systems but if you download "magicast into it (in the projectors desktop manager) it will be able to mirror from IOS systems. At first I was using it appleTV device to mirror my phone but looks like you can do it with just the device. It may be heavier than one wants but not for its great functionality. Speakers are beautiful. This one is the 900 lumen one. You can also hardwire you phone camera via the HDMI cable. I dissabled keystone ust for my use but it also does a great auto focus. Very quiet. . They told me to use up the battery that came with t and then recharge it rather than leaving it plugged in all the time. XGIMI claimed that it was better to run off battery all the time to preserve life of battery. But they claim if battery dies you can get it to start up right again with the power cord vs other projectors that require you recharge battery completely before it will run again. But XGIMI has good technical support, This picture shows it morroiring from my phone.

Awesome projector for it's portability and smart features that makes it extremely easy to move throughout the house or wherever you want. However, you will only get good 1080p image and clarity under really dark environments. The contrast isn't the best and the blacks in certain scenes can appear washed.
Speaker sound is just so-so. Although it can get loud and is pretty clear, still missing a bit of a punch that would make movies and music experience more enjoyable.
Lastly, with all the great technology and hardware behind this product, I wish there was some kind of lens cover to protect from dust. I ended up returning this unit because a spec of dust somehow got on the internal lens and projected a black spec right in the middle of the frame.
This was my 1st time purchasing a projector and although impressed, I think that going for a higher end 4k model may be more worthwhile for quality image, making it more future proof. If portability is important, this is a great option.

So far testing this all out, it has overperformed for my expectations. Well packaged, nice instructions. Has all you need for a projector of this ultra portability! Yes, Netflix is capable on the unit if you follow the instruction sheet on how to do it. For those that choose not to use the flyer, it has built in Chromecast. Speakers work great for what this is, if not you can Bluetooth to an external set! I highly recommend this projector!

Great quality. Love the fact that it adjusts to the screen we have. Its portable, perfect for my kids. The ONLY reason i am giving this a 3 star reating is because Netflix doesn't work on it. Ive tried everything only to find out that the halo progector doesnt have the right "Licencing" so it doen't allow us to watch it. Apperantly, should have done alittle more reseach on it because it is a big investment.

Picture Quality:
The 1080p resolution is super crisp, and the HDR makes colors pop, even in a dimly lit room. It’s honestly impressive for something this compact. Autofocus and auto-keystone correction are quick and accurate—I barely had to touch anything to get a perfect picture.
Portability:
This thing is the perfect size. Easy to carry around, and with the built-in 2.5-hour battery, I can use it outside, in different rooms, or even on a quick trip. No need to worry about dragging around cables all the time.
Sound:
The Harman Kardon speaker is legit. Loud, clear, and surprisingly full for a projector. For casual movie nights or presentations, I don’t even feel like I need external speakers.
Smart Features:
Android TV built in = super convenient. I’ve got all my apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video right there. Navigating is smooth and responsive with the remote. It even supports Google Assistant, which is a nice touch.
Ease of Use:
Set up is basically plug-and-play. Auto screen alignment and focus make everything easy, and the interface is user-friendly. I was up and running in like five minutes.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re looking for a high-quality, portable projector that delivers on both picture and sound, the XGIMI Halo+ is a winner. Whether you’re using it at home, on the go, or for outdoor movie nights, it handles it all effortlessly.

Great value and pretty easy to use. Battery life on full power is about 100 minutes, but can adjust performance to extend the life for a full feature easily. It is very portable and convenient- 360 speaker and smart enabled device all in one.
