Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the HORIZON Ultra 4K Streaming Projector's picture and sound quality, frequently praising the brightness and vivid colors. Some users noted that the black levels could be improved, appearing grayish rather than true black. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality outweighs the minor concerns about black level performance.

    Best Room-To-Room 4K Projector

I first bought the Xgimi Horizon Pro 4K, but saw that this model came out a few weeks ago. I read a few technical reviews on this model and figured it’d be worth a shot. I would normally buy an LG or Sony OLED TV because of the picture quality, but I wanted a big screen in the form of something portable enough for moving between rooms in my home (and home-relocation, when the time comes). Here are my thoughts on the Ultra HD model… Pros: 1. Beautiful picture, with rich colors and great detail, that’s close enough to the feel of watching a TV for 99% of people. 2. Bright light with vivid tonal mapping, highlights, and contrast. 3. Beautiful room-filling sound. 4. Beautiful design with much-appreciated light dimmer with motion sensor, should an object/person get in the way of the projection, making it safe for the eyes of little ones and critters. Cons: 1. Though beautiful and “premium,” I’m concerned that the PU leatherette aurface will be a magnet for my cats to scratch, and im concerned how this will age in the long run as I move it from room-to-room. 2. There is the occasional glitch with the Xgimi software when streaming directly from the projector’s OS. Ideally, I’d stream video from my XBox Series X, because that produced the best video quality of any non-Blu-Ray player I’ve seen; although, a Chromecast dongle would work sufficiently well for a more seamless option.

Not True 4k When Streaming / Very Bad Halo Effects

It’s cool & all but when I watch movies off VUDU, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, it doesn’t read the conent correctly. Maybe it’s the App’s or the unit itself, maybe it can be fixed in a software update but as of right now, that is not the case. Only Apple TV, some of Disney IMAX content & on youtube it’ll stream 4K if whatever you’re watching is 4K. People on Reddit say to turn off all the auto correction features because of halo’ing around the main screen & that you should use manual correction which after testing is very true. Out the box is horrible, I do find myself editing the image color’s often, never really a “right spot”. I came from a pico projector & it was only 720P with upscaling to 1080P so compare to that, it’s a big difference. Overall, it’s good, not great but better then most under $1000. The speakers are pretty good, I can’t complain. I use Bluetooth of my soundbar & it works great, I was expecting audio lag but I haven’t had that problem. The unit can push out heat so try to keep in a ventalated area. I finance this & I kinda’ regret it because I don’t think I can return it now & for some reason you can’t download Netflix on the google play store, you gotta’ do a work around which doesn’t make sense. Hopes this review helps a little, also the power brick is huge, kinda’ ugly if you don’t buy the $200 stand to hide it lol

projector looks great even in the day time. I recommend hooking it up to an apple tv 4k to make the experience better. The auto keystone correction works great, and this is definitely an upgrade from my 1080p projector. Highly recommend. 2 hdmi ports is also great.

Fantastic projector, However, in my home theatre set up it wouldn't work out to my standards. The packaging was phenomenal and I enjoyed the auto keystone as my daughter loves to move things alot. The motorized cover was a nice touch that made things feel premium and sound was great but I mostly used a sound bar. The issues are mostly software, its horribly slow. One of the slowest OS's I've ever dealt with, I plugged my Nvidia Shield in it instead due to the lag which was unacceptable at this price point. I went in knowing that Netflix wouldn't be installed and that there was a work around, but the work around was to have low quality Netflix side loaded in which when I tried it, would freeze constantly to buffer. It's literally just polling a 480p image and buffering.. the only device that did this in my house with 1.2GB Down 45up speeds. In terms of picture, like everyone says, don't expect the darkest blacks. At all, you'll only see grey. It made it really hard to watch really dark horror movies. I was very not impressed, this was with 2 different screens. I ended up just switching to an ultra short throw px2-pro that was on sale and returned this.

    Astonished 4K Projector!

I’m truly astonished by this 4K projector. I bought it as a second screen for my living room. My current TV is 55 inches, and I didn’t want to buy a bigger one since I move every 6 months. Projectors seem like a good fit. The pricing is great for a 4K projector. Seeing that it supported Dolby Vision and optical zoom, which some products over 3000 bucks don’t even have, I decided to give it a try. The result is super satisfying. The inclusion of Dolby Vision support truly took the viewing experience to a new level. It wasn’t that impressive when I started with some anime content, but as soon as I switched to a fiction movie, it immediately changed the experience. For the first time, I could see the character’s facial expressions so crisply and in detail, and the colors just looked right. The Dolby Vision adjustment gave me the feeling of watching it in a theater. I don’t know why; it’s just magical. Equally impressive is the projector's optical zoom functionality. The projected image can be very large at times. With this product, you simply press a button, and then you see the image adjust losslessly; it’s super cool. I sometimes move it to the bedroom, and it does a great job with the auto keystone to correct the image for me. For the first time, I feel like the screen in my room is enough. The last part I LOVE a lot is the design! You have to admit, it looks super premium. The electric cover looks so good; watching it slide down automatically every time is a wow moment. It also looks like a beautiful item in your home environment. In conclusion, this projector is a remarkable gem that offers an extraordinary visual journey. I also tested some games on it; a 200-inch gaming screen is something else. Whether you're a movie enthusiast, a gaming aficionado, or a dedicated binge-watcher, this projector is a worthy investment. Give it a try.

This is such a beautiful projector, i had no idea projectors could make this kind of picture, im so happy i watched all the reviews before purchasing. It is super easy to set up, runs very quiet and the house is outstanding even before setting up speakers. Its also so pleasing to look at and people have no idea that is a projector when they first see it. I love love love my projector, makes me want to watch all my favorite movies alllll over again!

I REALLY wanted to like this product. They took a success in the Horizon Pro and added Dolby Vision, Dual Light and the promise of much higher light output. I will say that the packaging was outstanding and the presentation was top notch but you buy a projector for the video quality and this has one major flaw. The projector forces you into Dolby Vision (a majority of quality streaming content is now Dolby Vision) and unfortunately the MEMC is disabled while utilizing Dolby Vision. I confirmed this with XGIMI as well to make sure I wasn't missing something. One of the major reasons for using XGIMI projectors is the smooth video output and that is just not possible with this projector. The auto keystone also didn't work as well as the Horizon Pro. All and all it is a quality made product but it is not able to perform at its most basic task. I also did a side by side comparrison with the Horizon Pro and for a considerable amount less cost, the brightness and picture quality almost seemed identical (minus the lack of MEMC of course) The colors actually popped a bit more with the Pro, so I would suggest going that route even without the MEMC issue. I would avoid this product and go with the Horizon Pro until XGIMI can figure out something with the MEMC. ***In the image, Horizon Pro up top and Horizon Ultra below using very simliar settings***

Performance is very good. Silent and the quality is very excellent. No heat issues or any interruption even with a non stop 12 hours projection. Works great for my media room. 4k quality is too good at this price.

Nobody else buy it, because I like it and it is mine. I like its color, and I like its cute funny face that slides up and down. I'm a little disappointed with the color compared to an all laser system, but 4k is nice and so is the silence. My gripe with this projector, however, is that it lacks an in-built angle stand so I have it on my coffee table with a stick under it to prop it at the proper angle. Everything works flawlessly, but make sure you to turn off Noise Cleaning and set Color Temperature to Standard. The auto-keystone and auto-focus work great, the AndroidOS is quick, the 4k is 4k. I think it might not be as bright as it says it is outside of high-power mode, and high-power mode is truly an awful experience: loud, and over-warm color temperature.

Great picture but has a dead pixle. It shows up as a glaring white dot on black backgrounds. If you purchase this from Best Buy remember to buy the extended warranty. Best Buy “IS NOT AN AUTHORIZED REATAILER FOR XGIMI”. Your warranty isn’t any good through Xgimi. You must purchase Best Buy warranty if you want any warranty at all. I found this out the hard way. If you want the standard 1 year warranty that comes with the projector you must buy it through Xgimi. I only recommend this this projector if you buy from Xgimi directly or you buy the super expensive warranty from Best Buy. Hope this helps. Richard
