    Medium sized Room, Big Sound

My parents recently had an addition put on, and the room, sporting a 70" tv, needed some sound. I have to say this little setup for the price exceeded my expectations. The bass response scales well, and I have yet to run the self optimizing program that came built into the unit. Trying to get ARC to work was a bit of a process but it finally worked out. There is a setting in the menu you have to turn on... the instructions aren't great about telling you this. Once it's on, we only use the TV remote to control the volume. Can't say we've used any of the other features built into it. I bought it to be a stereo that replaces the TV's built in speakers with good sound. At great sound and stereo surround separation, it exceeded my expectations. I will say, I did not use the wire that came with it though, as the gauge was awfully thin. I did not do the math, so I'm unsure if it makes a difference..but I used 16 gauge in the wall... a fair bit thicker for the long runs to the rear of the room. I also tinned the wired (solder) and used gold plated banana clips. Does that impact anything? I don't know, but I mention this in case you are unhappy with the quality of the sound... try thicker gauge speaker wire and maybe banana clips. *I am not an audiophile*

This Surround is the best value in sound I have seen. I have a Kenwood receiver from the 80's that cost more than this entire system. The sound quality is full and strong with an impressive subwoofer that is powered separately. My wife loves that she can control this unit from her phone via blue tooth. These speakers fit nicely on our fireplace mantle under the TV.

Really good quality and not too much. I live in a relatively small one bedroom apartment. I am not an audiophile or anything like that but I can hear the voices on tv shows clearly, the bass is really nice, and it plays music very well. Also, the controls are very simple to understand and when you dont want the loud dramatic surround sound you can just turn on the front two speakers alone and they are perfect for late night relaxing.

I have a medium size living room and I just needed something to get me away from the TV onboard sound. This system is great. The bass is perfect for my room and the 5.1 set up is a ton of fun. The amplifier has plenty of juice and it's very easy to understand and set up. If you plug on a PS4 on an input it will read "PS4" so anyone can find the right device. Sound is great, it's easy to use, and has made my living room so much better.

Even though I got screwed out of $50 when it went on sale 3 weeks later. I like it. Speakers are made out of cheap plastic. The speaker wire that came with it is dental floss thin also. The sub is decent. The receiver is very good.Overall it is pretty loud. It's not 140w as advised it's 100w per ch. For the price it a good system.I just wonder how long till Iblow the speakers.

This is my first sound system and I love it! I live in an apartment and didn't want to get a super expensive home theater system; saving that for when I buy a house. I've NEVER put together a sounds system before and it was easy enough with the right tools. I did have to buy a wire stripper which I didn't know, but after watching a video for how to strip wire, I had no problems. The box is heavy, but I was able to carry it upstairs to my 3rd floor apartment alone. I'm 32 and a woman. The sound is amazing. I have a Samsung tv and had no hiccups other than an amateur user error? I was about to return it to the store because it seemed like the sound only came out of devices plugged into the receiver (my fire stick), but not just a plain tv connection. I was scrolling through the settings and realized HDMI control was turned off. Turning it on instantly let the sound of my tv input come out through the speakers. That sealed the deal!

This surround sound transformed our Great Room. Sports sound like you're there, movies sound more believable, and heard to hear dialogue becomes discernible. Other devices meshed beautifully and with the multifunction pre-set buttons on the remote, it is easy to enjoy no matter the device. The price was, well, the biggest bang for the buck I could find. Purchased online and it was waiting for us at a nearby Best Buy that day. Thanks Best Buy.

I bought this for my home theater and it has really good surround sound. This is my first speaker system and I love it. The subwoofer is really powerful, and setup was easy. I have this paired with a BenQ HT2050A and a 100” screen and watching movies on it is amazing.

Very good setup for the price. The speakers aren't crazy loud or anything but it's decent for watching movies and listening to music in smaller rooms. It was very easy to setup, typical surround sound arrangement. The sub woofer has decent punch. Overall for a new full package you would be hard pressed to find anything better for the price in stores.

For the price you get higher than expected quality, hands down. Added extra drama and theater like experience to our movie nights. Can connect multiple consoles for the ease of usage everything in one. Never tried maximum sound, as it gets very loud without the need of maximizing. Ypao microphone in the set is an excellent bonus, almost purchased it separately but was super happy to find it in the box. We’vee been using it for over a year now, and very glad with the choice, we still enjoy it to the max!

Out of the box this system is awesome! But I made a couple of upgrades. First I upgraded the center channel to Model NS-C210 this made a huge difference in depth and richness to the overall experience. Then I added a second subwoofer Model NS-SW050, to add the second sub you will need to get a splitter for the sub out line on the back of the receiver. Adding the second sub took this system to the next level! The bass is thick and rich with a very smooth sound through out my family room. I am very pleased with this purchase. Both upgrades can be found on Best Buys website.

super simple to set up. Used the provided microphone to calibrate the speakers. The sound is clear and the bass is above average. It replaced an old Samsung surround sound system that was about 5 years old and the dvd/ amplifier unit stopped working. No complaints and it seems to be a good system for the money.

this is a highly recommended product. cheaper than most brands that deliver the same quality and features. dolby vision, dolby surround sound and much more great features. after setting up the speakers location you connect the supplied MIC to automatically adjustes each speaker based on location and distance, or you can do it manually. no internet or DVD player though. its pretty much an amplifier receiver + home theater system. for best sound results connect the TV by the ARC HDMI to this system and make sure you use a high end HDMI cable. you will not regret this product.

I bought this to replace an outdated Sony system and I've been very pleased with it! There's really nothing else to say that hasn't already been said in other review so I'll offer some tips. -Get some real speaker wire. The wire that's included is junk and chokes the life out of the speakers. -I got better results skipping YPAO and manually measuring distances and setting speaker levels. YPAO made effects sound muted and flat. Try it both ways and decide which works best for you. -YPAO incorrectly set the surround speakers to 'Large'. I manually set them to 'Small' and set the crossover at 100 Hz. This really made the system come alive! -There's a somewhat hidden advanced setup menu that allows you to set the speaker resistance. The default setting is 8 Ohms while the included speakers are 6. Definitely go in and change this. Overall it's a very good system for the money. The receiver is excellent and allows for future upgrades. My only real complaint is the menu system is awkward to navigate. To access all settings you really have to go to three different menus. It would also be nice to have a dedicated button to dim the display instead of having to do it through those clunky menus.

Excellent value for the price. I purchased a few sound bars (even a Samsung @ $800 and wasn't satisfied with the sound when playing music. They were fine for TV and movies but I listen to music in my bedroom as well. So I decided to give this one a shot and have not been disappointed. I knew the 2 front speakers were probably not going to be sufficient for 2 channel music so I knew up front I would be replacing them with some Sony SSCS5 bookshelf speakers that I already have. This setup with the Sony speakers sound really good. The Sony speakers are probably the best value for any small bookshelf speakers on the planet right now.

Great surround for the price. We are on a budget so we wanted a quality system at a decent price, which this is. Most systems only come with speakers but the included receiver with Bluetooth capability is fantastic. Set up was easy and they sound fantastic.

So far so good. Took about 30 minutes to set up…couple more hours to get the sound to work. If your sound doesn’t work right off the bat, you may have to play with the setting on either your tv or the receiver or possibly both. Has great sound quality, subwoofer has great bass-enough to shake my whole house. I did not use the speaker wire that come with it tho, I bought 14 gauge speaker wire off Amazon to use instead.
